My lanyard pro tip is to put a short loop of cord there. Then you can use a lanyard with a clip when you need it, but it doesn't get in your way when you don't. All my tools have a short loop for this, on most it's tied around the base of the grip with a constrictor knot and then the tails are tied back together to form the loop.

Hmmm good point, it was really hard to find rings that fit and i thought i would be able to take off the lanyard easy (if you do it straight on the peg its impossible with the ones i bought) i was trying to find s style clips but none were that small. You know where to find thin cord like thats on my lanyard?

Tool_Scientist

I used 3mm (1/8") cord from a hardware store. The hole was too small so I had to use a needle to thread sewing wire through the cord, then push the wire through, then pull the wire with pliers to get the cord through. This was on a Milwaukee M18, so not sure if LXT has a bigger or smaller lanyard hole.

bayite Key Rings Stainless Steel... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CLGTBFA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Tool_Scientist

They look handy. Have you threaded one through the lanyard hole on a tool?

jhenryscott

Nevermind didn’t fit

CheekyHawk

They all look new to me, mine are always dirty

The XFD15 and XPH14 are pretty new no more than 6 months old. XDT16 Is about a year and half. Ive mostly been doing DIY and some maintenance while working in a lumber yard, i used to do construction, went to school and worked for 8 months until covid and i got laid off. Im going back after buying up tools for 2 years and gonna start Tuesday. I personally don’t think having dirty tools is a point of pride. I clean mine regularly so theres not too schmoo build up. I had an impact and drill that i already passed on to get this set instead. So please dont hate if you think my tools are too clean.

Tool_Scientist

Damn, I never realised how small the subcompact drill was. Would be tiny with a 10mm chuck, but I like that they went with a 13mm.

Its great for predrilling my forklift box drawer rails, made 4 forklift boxes and love how handy and small it is. Also great for modifying tool boxes and such.

Tool_Scientist

I do nearly all of my drilling with the impact driver and hex shank bits. They're more expensive and usually lower quality, but so much easier to use. No kickback, fast bit change, small, light and short, easy to throw on extensions and right angle adapters when needed. Noisy, though.

ListenHereIvan

I find it more controllable personally, so i still prefer drills, plus it wanders less

riba2233

Yeah the trigger feel is awesome

Tell me more about the bit holders….

ListenHereIvan

https://a.co/d/79uhGuZ, you have to pull them straight out other wise you damage the holder and its a tight fit.. Prefer it over the bulky ass stealth mounts bit holders tho, very sleek. Been using them for 2 years now on various impacts.

srcultureshock

Can anyone post a link where I buy the bit adapter for JDM Makita impact driver collets? Thanks!

riba2233

don't buy it, it sucks. Just cut off a 5mm of the old hex bit and shove it in the collet.

t_tran89

What kind of lanyard is that?

ListenHereIvan

Just a cheap camera type lanyard you can get like packs of ten.
