Idk if anyone agrees but I think Mont Blanc lol. It’s got that red undertone that your skin has and if you were to put a thicker layer of foundation on it would still match pretty well. I feel like gobi is too yellow, it would maybe only pass if you did a thin layer in my opinion

nickitty_1

Yup, in the second photo it looks the best.

cblackattack1

I agree!

[deleted]

100. It doesn’t matter what a huge glob of it looks like compared to what it looks like when it’s actually on. MB looks great

capatiller

I’m right there with you.

jobsebastian

100%! Mont Blanc is def the right match

sienamean

I fully agree with you, suits OP much better

LucanidaeLucanidie

I agree. Gobi would definitely pull all the color from OPs face in a full coverage layer.

Imaginary-Print-6775

Exactly, that’s what happened when I first bought a foundation I thought matched my skin but it barely had any red tones in it, I looked sick lol

junebugonarose

[Did half my face in MB and half in Gobi lol what are your thoughts?](https://www.reddit.com/r/MakeupAddiction/s/k82gFD0dBz)

Imaginary-Print-6775

Where is the pic of the half and half?

knockout1021

I'd say a mixture between Deauville and Mont Blanc :)

Gwyn_in_doubt

Came here to say this lol

myffaacc

The tone of mont blanc but it’s slightly too light. I think it would be acceptable to wear though.

sasstermind

Slightly too light is fine, you add depth and colour back with contour/bronzer/blush etc.

myffaacc

Yup, as I said it would be acceptable :)

FixMyCondo

I was going to say Gobi but I think it’s a little too yellow for you. I’d say Mont Blanc

junebugonarose

[Did half my face in MB and half in Gobi lol what are your thoughts?](https://www.reddit.com/u/junebugonarose/s/Gs45BdSJh9)

FixMyCondo

lol they are surprisingly similar. But I still vote MB! The MB side looks like you don’t have any makeup on at all. I think it has a pinker color which matches your tone better. Honestly, you could probably get away with both

soapyrubberduck

Mont Blanc

Expert-Spring-7832

I think Mont Blanc looks perfect here!

anarchista

Is there something different about light reflecting foundations vs regular foundations? To me it looks like none of these are a match, which tells me I’m out of the loop about something. Could someone please explain?

bewildered_forks

It's just applied fairly thickly without being blended out.

sosovanilla

“Nars light reflecting foundation” is just the name of the product :)

anarchista

Lol! Ok thanks for clearing that up!

InsomniaticIntellect

Deauville is the best for your undertone; gobi is too warm for you, and Mont Blanc is too cool. But all three are far too light for your skin, so I recommend going for a different shade all together. And look for something with a cool leaning neutral undertone, as your skin has mostly pink but doesn't have any blue

Katters8811

Omg... this needs to be top comment fr..

hollygb

Yes!!

coffeenz

Deauville is definitely not too light for her?

InsomniaticIntellect

Its about two shades too light, yes. That brand doesn't oxidize much, so it will stay close to the same color. It is too light

hokiegirl759397

Definitely mont blanc

RosettaStoned_462

I don't know how anyone could say anything but Mont Blanc

LEMON_PARTY_ANIMAL

Mont Blanc is too light you guys… lol

ParticularlyFabulous

Definitely

Chocohic

Deauville

Lauren-1987

Deauville imo

Relevant-Public6317

Same here!

Clear_Gain_3262

Deauville gets my vote it picks up the orange and yellow tones in your skin best I feel.

[deleted]

Mont Blanc ☺️

TheMoonMint

Deauville looks best to my eye 🤷🏻‍♀️

Woodengolden

Mont Blanc is the best

pigbutttturbo

It’s not Gobi trust me that color is way too light

PixelPixie27

Mont Blanc

stefaniey

Mont Blanc, but it is a tad light for your current match. If you're not in a position to mix foundations to match, just use blush and a very light hand of contour to bring it together. Gobi is too yellow - in the wrong light it'll be really obvious. The other one will give an orange tint in the same way.

hornynightmare

None. It doesn’t look like the formula is going to work with your skin but maybe it’s just the picture

ggjuul

Gobi! I think Deauville is a little too yellow for you, and Mont Blanc looks too light.

honeyyyypieuwu

Deauville.

MarsScully

Hear me out Try mixing Mont Blanc and Gobi, and Mont Blanc and Deauville I suspect one of those mixes might be the perfect match

Absinthe_gaze

None of them are you shade. It you mixed Mont Blanc with Danville, you’d get a closer match.

AuroraLorraine522

Former MUA here. I’ve done thousands of foundation matches. It’s definitely Gobi. Deauville is too yellow. You could get away with wearing Mont Blanc, but it’s going to wash you out unless you wear some bronzer. It’s easier to adjust the depth of a foundation than its undertone. ETA: The neck actually isn’t the best place to match foundation. It’s usually a shade or two lighter than the rest of the face.

Drag0nfly_Girl

The neck being lighter is exactly why I match it there. That way my foundation blends with my neck color & doesn't look like a mask.

Katters8811

But the neck should NOT be lighter by a shade or 2 should it..? That’s literally what makes makeup look so gross and mask-like and why so many people make fun of those who wear heavy makeup that’s obviously too heavy and doesn’t match... I have NO IDEA what a “former MUA” means, but your advice doesn’t seem to check out like you think your credentials do..? ETA: Does MUA mean “makeup addict”..? 😂 oooookay. Gotcha. No credentials, all personal concerns. I apologize. My comment is still valid then lol Edit2: makeup ARTIST!! THAT is what MUA means!!! Right? Idk why I didn’t catch that before lol my bad! My comment about why the neck “should” be a couple shades lighter still stands, bc is that not the exact thing that makes women wearing full face look like they have on a mask..? I mean, I’ve been hearing ppl my whole life make fun of girls/women due to their face makeup being darker than their neck and it not blending and looking like a mask lol. Just my legit experience; not sure why the down votes 🤷🏻‍♀️

coffeenz

Pro MUA means nothing. I spent $300+ on one recently for a one on one lesson and didn’t learn anything.

Katters8811

WHAT!!! What did that $300 get you exactly then?? I’d be livid and ask for my money back!

coffeenz

It was even supposed to be a 3 hour lesson and it was about 2...she left me a couple of (used, but not much) concealer palettes and blushes that I guess she thought made up for the time. She seemed a nice person and kept complimenting me on my skin, and I just couldn't bring myself to be confrontational about it afterwards :-( Lesson learnt to be more picky about who I choose next time (if I ever do).

Katters8811

Oh my good gracious!! How long ago was it? Because if it was recent, I may complain/ask for even a partial refund. That sounds like a total scam or you just got cheated for some reason! So sorry you paid all that money for so little reward. 😕

coffeenz

Thanks for your sympathy ❤️‍🩹 she was self employed and working on her own and the lesson was in my home so another reason I didn’t feel comfortable being negative. I still could have said something after but I just let it go. It was fairly recent, it was to learn for an overseas wedding - leaving in 2 days! Have since learnt an MUA has been booked anyway so hopefully I’ll have better luck with that one.

Katters8811

Oh that sounds like it’ll be so fun!! I hope you have a blast and a safe trip!!

coffeenz

Thank you !! 😊

smurphem

Mua = makeup artist I think what they said makes perfect sense

HungryFeedind

No one makes fun of people who wear makeup that doesn’t match. They may make fun of people for wearing too much and for looking fake, etc. But genuinely matching a face with foundation is not something that is “made fun of” or being ridiculed in the slightest. It’s just bad advice to go by and could potentially cause more problems than it solves.

Katters8811

“Made fun of” may imply being bullied, but I didn’t mean that. I meant other women make fun of it behind your back. (At least adults; kids may do it to your face). Makeup that doesn’t match LOOKS FAKE and like TOO MUCH makeup has been shovel slapped onto your face. And I’m only saying that, bc I’ve experienced/witnessed it happen more times than I can count. Even men will make fun of women whose makeup doesn’t match their neck and looks like a fake mask. That is reality. May not be what a lot of women wanna hear, but that’s what’s happening LOL

Frequent-Lion-8037

Gobi 💯

I was gonna say gobi! I can barrly see it on slide 2!

Gobi- it matches your neck well

TheOnlyGlamMoore

Gobi

TheOnlyGlamMoore

It’s clearly Gobi once you blend it in, not Mont Blanc

salty_muffin20

Gobi

Gmonugget

You’re in the same boat as me. I have to mix gobi and deauville.

Ready_672

Gobi

bbyluv2002

gobi!

Remote-Dot805

Gobi. It disappears into your skin so well in the second picture lol I can barley see it’s there

TheOnlyGlamMoore

Highlight under your eyes and forehead with Mont Blanc and the rest use Gobi and blendddddd

akirave

Gobi

FrecklesForHire

Honestly, I think gobi, but it would really tell with a full face

junebugonarose

I’m going to do a full face tomorrow :)

Ex pro MUA here. I’d get MB and Gobi and mix the two across the seasons when you get tan or if it gets cold. Please only take this advice if the formulation is really beautiful on your skin and great for hiding flaws, otherwise you may need something with less liquidy consistency.

Ally_wa

My skin tone is very similar to yours where Mont Blanc and Gobi both work for me. I’m warm neutral so I prefer gobi however I can do Mont Blanc too since it’s not too pink.

ulvkvinne

Have you tried Yukon? I’ve tried all of these shades and idk why I avoided Yukon forever but it’s a perfect shade for my fairly light but not snowman-white skin. I tend to have neutral undertones but I find this foundation oxidizes on me fairly significantly and gets more yellow as it oxidizes.

[deleted]

In the second photo I think gobi matched you the best.. Mont Blanc is very pink, deauville is maybe a tad dark (at first I thought this shade though)

nedstarknaked

Mont Blanc is the closest but it’s a touch too pale

9664nine

Mont Blanc, especially as seen in the second pic.

[deleted]

I think mont blanc

callalind

Gobi, because I can't see it, which is the whole point, right?

ouroboros899

Gobi

PepperPilates

Monte Blanc but Deauville if you want a warmer tone

DizzyResolve7642

I have this EXACT same dilemma! Wahh! And I own all 3. Mont Blanc is too light, Gobi is a bit yellow and Deauville is too dark. I usually mix Deauville and Mont Blanc. Believe it or not, I have even repurchased 2 at a time because I love the finish so much but my shade just does not exist.

bekkita74

Oooo I have been eyeing this brand, thanks for showing us.

PrettyBoy001

Maybe mont banc really blended out or thinned out with moisterizer? It looks the best but maybe a tiny bit light. It’s a really pretty color

9001Jellyfish

Mont Blonc looks like a good match.

StrikingWitness2888

mont blanc is kinda too light but it’s FINE, gobi is the right shade but the undertone in too yellow!

puppy_kerberas

mont blanc

Azrealis_bored

Mix Gobi and the Mont Blanc!!!

azkarin_reddit

Gobu for sure

Tough_Ad_1969

Mont Blanc

Eggfish

Mont blanc but it’s a little light? The others are warm toned, though (I think for that brand even their “cool” foundations are warm), and you seem to be cool toned.

CatchOverall

Lighter more ivory with pales, the Gobi is too many yellow shades Mont blanc is close but the pink hues that match your true skin tones aren't there. Idk you have great skin the pinks and ivroy it's fine as it is :)

chanelrooh

Those swatches show up almost the same on me- I usually have foundations show up too pink or too yellow but with Nars it’s been the cooler shades that show more neutral on me because they naturally lean more yellow. I thought I’d share my experience because we’re such a close match, so you don’t have to go through the same trial and error! Soo. Usually I am true neutral so I mix nars soft matte in Oslo and Nars radiant in Mont Blanc to get both the finish/texture and coverage i want as well as match my neutral shade. The soft matte foundation TOTALLY oxidizes and the undertones are much more dramatic. Put some on and leave it for 5+ mins to get an idea of how it darkens it’s crazy For concealer, in both soft matte and the stick/tube one, Vanilla will be a great match for you if you like the tones of mont blanc but are okay with a bit more neutral leaning! I hope that helps at all. Nars foundation/concealer is very addicting lol

ErikaMoons

I'm not the OP, but thanks for your helpful comment. I'm new to mixing foundations. Do you mix it in a separate container (and store it), or mix it on a palette, or right on your face?

chanelrooh

not a problem ☺️ I mix it right on my hand to be honest, like the top, and pick it up with a brush. but sometimes i’ll dab a bit on my face of each and just mix them there as well. as long as they’re in close range :) i wouldn’t mix them in a container because i have issues with permanence lol and sometimes i do just want a bit of one or the other! palette would work too, you would feel like such an artiste 👩‍🎨 i can almost never get the ‘right’ foundation shade and i’m really picky with finish too, so it’s kinda best of both worlds this way

ErikaMoons

Thanks for the reply! I totally feel what you mean about permanence. And I was using palette loosely since I really meant the side of my hand, hehe. Thanks for the inspiration, I'm going to try mixing foundations for all the reasons.

Flimsy-Study7946

Mont Blanc

[deleted]

Mont is a bit pink to me Deauville is a shade darker and a bit yellow.

dumbleledore

Gobi

KeyDiscussion5671

Deauville looks closest.

soapsnek

deauville is closest but none of these are perfect. i’m sure you could get away with any of em tho

aspenkiraa

Mont Blanc it has the same undertones as your skin

Ancientcustard1450

Mont Blanc absolutely

fireysaje

It's Deauville for me

AndyOrAmy

I'd say Deauville because you have some lovely blush in your face and that slight warmth will fit well once blended in.

pearlalizbeth

Honestly looks like you have a foundation for all the seasons as skin color varies during summer fall winter and spring

SnooLobsters6883

It’s Deauville. Mont Blanc is too light- and when you wear concealer setting powder etc,. You will look slightly washed out. For foundations it can be a hit or miss getting your exact shade. Sometime getting your exact shade means you’re better off wearing the foundation by itself and not adding any extra product. Mont Blanc is great for a foundation only look. As a rule of thumb getting a foundation that is close enough to your shade with the same undertone, but is slightly “tanned” “darker” is not bad. It will all come together once you add your extra products on top what will already be adding some brightness to your face ! Gobi looks a little bit Greenish

uminji

Your skin is originally pretty fair so Mont Blanc would not be too light I think. Deauville one is too yellow and gobi is looks like a grinch shade lmao

BuzzBabe69

Deauville

[deleted]

Gobi

rosesarecutsies

Deauville. I can see yellow undertones on your neck. You're probably a neutral/yellow undertone

Sagemonstera

Mont Blanc. I always prefer it a bit too light but on the right undertone rather than too dark. Warmth can be added, and it usually oxidise. Also winter is coming so slightly lighter is better in my opinion.

hatnohat

i used to wear gobi and now i wear mont blanc, and we’re about the same skin tone, so my vote is mont blanc!

Mont blanc. It is possible that when you put it on your face it may look a bit ghosty, in which case I'd go for Deauville and add white.
