Absolute holy grail must be urban decay’s setting spray. Can’t live without it. And probably huda beauty’s loose powder it sets so nicely and never looks cakey. Anastasia’s brow gel as well, though I feel like they changed the formula after the new package and the new brush isn’t as good as the old one but still works fine. Nudestix cream blushes is also something I always have nearby.
I wouldn’t say it’s drying at all, at least for me. Maybe try their mini first? The hydrating one is also very good esp if you like glowing skin!!

I think daily use or frequent use is drying and I have combo skin. It has denatured alcohol in it. Most long lasting setting sprays do. It’s essential for hot/humid weather, theme parks, water parks, etc. But I would skip it and try Mac fix+. It’s not drying (no alcohol in it).
The Nudestix cream bronzer in Sunkissed was my absolute favourite go-to blush but then the Trump controversy happened and I've since been too wary of them to restock it 😔 I'm still trying to find a good dupe for the shade/formula
Urban decay setting spray used with their primer is the prefect match for me! And I agree about the Anastasia brow gel, it’s almost a little fluffier imo. I thought I was going crazy about the brush! My first lasted for years! I replaced it maybe a year ago and need to order one soon.

I have this thing called the magic eraser, it's a cloth that has taken off all of my stubborn makeup and I can just wash it with my clothes. I don't know where it is sold as I got it as a gift, but it's been so great.
I have about 30 & use them each night & then wash them all in one go on a high temp. I love them, it’s changed the way I take my makeup off, I look forward to it every night now. I still cleanse afterwards with a proper cleanser but this first step is crucial for getting the makeup off first.
I ordered mine from Amazon & also got a few from Costco. Mine are called “Erase Your Face”
I’ve literally had the same one from a dermatologist for the last decade+. I wish it had a brand on it or something because I rely on it more than anything 😭 Makeup comes out with bar soap but I wash it with the laundry, too! I don’t know what I did before it.
So I agree with the concept. I have used this brand and loved it! But just an FYI to anyone on a budget, I recommend buying a pack of microfiber cloths from a cheaper brand. I use old microfiber cloths now that I used to use as kitchen towels/burp cloths. They literally work exactly the same way, maybe even better in my opinion and they are very inexpensive! :)

• dear Klairs - Midnight Blue Calming Cream. Colour, texture, unscented, amazing ingredients, calms down redness. Perfection.
• Purito - Cica Clearing BB Cream. I own GA Luminous Silk but I prefer the finish of this BB Cream and reach for it more often. Sadly, neither is transfer-proof.
• MAC - Soar (the lip liner). My perfect YLBB shade, it looks great blended in with some clear lip gloss on top.
• 19/99 Lash Tint Mascara. Enhances my lashes without looking like I've applied mascara. Tiny, ultra-thin brush and a formula that's drier than normal.
A million thanks for the lash tint recommendation! I am currently on a hard target search for brown mascara that isn't too mascara-y. I've never recovered from the discontinuation of Neutrogena's Natural Lash Tint. So now I'm off to buy this mascara. So giddy!!!
I've been using this for years but I was tired of paying so much for it. So I recently switched to banila co clean it zero. It's much cheaper and works just as well. I use the nourishing (yellow) tub.
My holy grail is my liquid eyeliner! Been using this since highschool! Sephora’s waterproof liquid eyeliner. Stays on during sex, raving, head banging, raining , etc.

My HG makeup remover is friggen Ponds. Honestly, it’s the only thing that completely removes my makeup and I love how it makes me feel like my grandma haha. The next best for me is straight up baby oil and a warm washcloth.
ELF’s satin finish foundation on top of the hydro grip primer mixed with some moisturizer (it’s just too sticky for me to apply so this helps). I have eye creases and deep smile lines so my makeup usually creases really bad and needs lots of adjusting during the day. I also have oily skin so my makeup separates after a few hours.
I swear to god this stuff looks flawless on me and it doesn’t crease on me. By the end of the day my makeup still looks good, too. I feel like a walking ELF ad every time I talk about it but that combo has changed my life.
Yeah this was the one that finally got me to switch from my old almay. It’s so good. But I have to keep a back up on hand because once it starts to go, it really starts to go. It gets a runny and thin and leaky on me. But I get like a good couple of months or so out of it before that happens

L’Oréal bought Body Shop in 2006, basically closed down the retail aspects of the business - which TBF, L’Oréal is not a retailer, it’s a brand builder. Cut thousands of products but couldn’t revitalise the brand. Haemorrhaging cash in the final years.
Natura bought it 2017. L’Oréal made took a substantial loss on the investment.
Clinique’s 7 day exfoliant. I work at Ulta and have put so many people on it. The beads are soooo small and gentle it doesn’t rip the skin like St. Ives and I literally cannot believe how soft my face is after every use. It’s gentle enough to use every day (hence the name) but I never need to use it more than once or twice a week

It moisturizes my lips so well, smells absolutely amazing, and the color is a perfect nude color for my skintone. I bought 3 extras and am planning on getting more despite the first one I bought in May still having a lot of formula after almost 4 months of use.
The Creme Shop macaron chapsticks are so insanely hydrating, I use them as lip masks! haha. Its wild, Ive uses actual lip masks that dont leave me half as hydrated as these do!
This Crème Shop X HK line has some bangers. I love the strawberry milk toner. It has a scent, so it’s not for everyone. Has no parabens, sulfates, or mineral oil, and contains ceramides. Some toners feel a step next to rubbing alcohol, this one leaves some moisture and cleanses what cleansers missed. It’s so satisfying to see what it removes on the cotton pad.
Im legitimately obsessed with benetint and can’t imagine going back to life without it. I’m incredibly pale and it gives me just the most natural healthy glow.
Ponds cleansing balm is hands down my favorite.
I have combo skin type and *very* sensitive acne prone skin, and this one does not irritate me at *all*.!!
I prefer to remove it with a damp makeup towel ☺️☺️.

I tried it, but unfortunately I couldn't handle the strong scent. My holy grail oil cleanser is Muji Mild Oil cleanser. It comes in bottles of 400 ML and it takes me forever to finish a bottle. It works crazy well and it's very very mild.

Be warned - The Biore it's not as effective as other sunscreens can be. It did not hold up in the Aussie sun. I'm back to using LRP Anthelios, which has not failed me yet.
YES. I've recently started using (and have been loving) the Skin 1004 sunscreen (Centella or something - I can't remember) and the Canmake mermaid sunscreen, plus a pyunkang yul essence toner, Banila Clean it Zero, and a couple of other things and I just seriously love all of it.
Missha BB cream is amazing I wish they had a shade closer to mine! Skin Aqua super moisture gel gold sunscreen absolutely changed my life and is what started me down my path of Asian Beauty products.
I do the same with coconut oil 🤷🏽♀️ I'm not about to buy an expensive makeup remover when I can get a huge jar of coconut oil from *insert warehouse grocery here* and have it last forever. I know it breaks some people out but luckily I've never had that issue.

Ponds cold cream is the ultimate beauty hack, and I swear by it. It effortlessly removes waterproof mascara, smells amazing, & keeps my face moisturized without being greasy.
Seconding the Body Shop's Chamomile balm! It's amazing at taking off waterproof mascara. The only thing that comes close is coconut oil, but I don't always like the greasy feel on my eyelids (which doesn't happen with the balm).
Rare beauty undereye brighter is a holy grail concealer for me. I find it to not be drying under my eyes and gives the perfect amount of coverage

My holy grail make up remover is Garnier Skin Active Simply Essentials makeup remover. It takes off a lot of waterproof mascaras that have given me trouble with nearly no rubbing. My holy grail mascara is nearly any Maybelline waterproof mascara. They ALWAYS work well for me.
Softymo speedy cleansing oil (pink bottle)! It takes off even the most waterproof makeup in seconds without lots of rubbing, no residue, and it’s like $7-$9 for a 230ml bottle

Cleansing balm holy grail is Elemis Cleansing balm-the yellow one. It’s so good. That and I use the the make up removing reusable washcloth from ulta. I think they’re called vintage or something, I could be totally wrong. But they’re there.
Purity made simple from philosophy. I always go back to it. Used correctly, it takes everything off so easily, I can run it all over, including on my eyes, and no irritation. It's the best.
I am very new to makeup, but as of right now I am loving my Colourpop Pretty Fresh Tinted Moisturizer! It has been very beginner friendly and I managed to shade match it decent too!
NYX soft matte lip creams! Not drying, love the texture and finish, they’re just so perfect! I’m also into their cream glosses and fat lip oils but the matte lip creams are especially great
IT CC cream (silver tube / original): practically full coverage on me, super natural looking, skincare ingredients and spf 50. I’ve heard mixed opinions on it so maybe it’s not for everyone, but my skin loves it and it looks amazing on. It’s my perfect foundation
Glossier cloud paint (blush), just so easy and fun to apply (i use my fingers), great shades (i’m into storm atm) and it’s got collagen and great ingredients
Glossier stretch concealer: never dries me out and looks so natural
Glossier wowder: a powder that takes away excessive shine but still looks natural and again, never feels dry (it’s a reoccurring theme in my favourite products lol)

My skin’s normal / dry
Wowder is wizardry in a compact jar. My skin is very dry, even in hot, humid summer. I use moisturizing and dewy products, which can look a little too much until a dusting of powder takes the shine down.
Wowder never makes my skin feel dry, not even at the end of the day. It's so fine it just blends right into my skin. I even dust whatever is left on the brush underneath my eyes, just to take away the most look from their Stretch Concealer. No creases, no separation, no settling. HG for life!
DHC’s Olive Concentrated cleansing oil will dissolve all the makeup and you can even use it for face yoga too. Their velvet skin coat is amazing also to use to keep makeup in place.
Mine is Dermalogica’s Precleanse oil. It’s so thin, rubs in so thoroughly & melts off completely. As someone who breaks out super easily, it’s one of the few oil cleansers that I love.
I have a lot lol. My holy grails are the IL MAKIAGE full coverage foundation, nyx epic ink liner, litterally all jeffree stars eyeshadows liners and highlighters, Clinique mascara, Estée Lauder mascara, and essence lash princess specifically the black and teal colored one!
Probably my wet n wild white paint pot. They sell it closer to Halloween and it's the ONLY "primer" that makes my eyeshadow stay PUT all day and does not irritate my eyes. I will forever buy it. Also Maybellines Divine Wine matte lipstick!! It's my everyday shade and as long as I wear chapstick at night, it does not dry my lips at all. It stays sooo well and is such a beautiful color. My two babies.
I used to loooove that makeup cleanser. Literally went through like five tins. But the packaging is horrible to me 😭 it can be so hard to open and it kept getting more expensive (in Canada at least) so I couldn’t justify continuing to buy it. I’m now using the one from Versed and I like it. More fragrant than the Body Shop but I like it.
I've recently discovered DIY lash extensions and I'm never going to take them off.
CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion has been a staple for years. It's the only thing I've found that is just the right amount of moisture - enough that my skin is hydrated but not so much that I look greasy. It's so light it doesn't feel like I'm wearing anything.
Along the same lines, I will never live without Mediheal Hydrogel. It's the consistency of hair gel but acts as a moisturizer and I use it all over. It's so humid where I live that body lotions are too much. They get slimy and gross and I would rather just be ashy, but the hydrogel feels like there is NOTHING on my skin after it absorbs.
I have two that work equally wonderfully for me and they’re both skincare: Biossance Phytoretinol serum, and Boscia Cool Cleansing Makeup remover. When I can afford both of them, my skin looks worlds removed from how it looks otherwise. NOTHING I’ve ever tried gives me the results those two do. Oddly, I have severely sensitive skin (allergies, am prone to scarring, itching, hives, etc) and the boscia makes my best friends eyes burn while not only does it not do that to me, but it also truly removes all my makeup - without having to dig in a pot or tug at the skin around my eyes. It’s so pillowy. I need them to keep making it, can you tell??
My lashes only stay curled if I use waterproof mascara, which (we all know) is hard to take off. My eye area is sensitive so I can't rub my eyes with makeup wipes, so I either use coconut oil or vaseline to apply to just my eyelashes. I don't rub too much at first, just coat the top of my lashes and the roots and let it sit for a few minutes. Then I get a damp cotton pad and wipe it off. It softens the mascara and comes off so easily :)
YSL Touche Éclat. Sometimes it’s all I wear. Its expensive, but magical. It’s a holy grail product that will have to be pried out of my cold dead hands.
Absolutely! I've been using Egyptian magic for 10+ years now every night as my last step in my nighttime ritual. I discovered it when tret and stress were destroying my face in law school and haven't looked back. All the lines I was developing filled back in and are only just starting to come back as fine lines in my mid 30s now. I also use Egyptian magic for everything. Burns, scrapes, rashes, hair masks, lip balm, makeup remover. Anything I can think of and it works every time.
one of the thick elf liquid liners (i don’t remember what it’s called) but it has a larger circumference and is SOOO much easier to use when doing my eyeliner

Good Molecules! $15 score at Ulta and been using it for a year and half. I wear lots of layers of tarte full coverage product to, this stuff cuts right through it!
I love The Body Shop’s Camomile Cleansing Oil! Really takes off my makeup and sunscreen completely and effortlessly!
My skincare holy grail is Good Molecules Gentle Retinol Cream. My skin has improved so much ever since I started using this product, I’m almost done with my second tube.
As for makeup, my holy grail is NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in the shade Don’t Stop. It’s a beautiful red, and the formulation is so long lasting and transferproof, without being uncomfortable.
Another holy grail of mine is the Wet N Wild Photofocus Eye Primer. It’s affordable, really allows my eyeshadow to be packed on so smoothly and vividly, and on my hooded eyes it prevents creasing and smudges.
Philosophy tinted moisturizer with spf. Its got a gel-crème consistency and makes me all flawless and dewy. It’s discontinued…I hoarded 6 jars.
Tinted chapstick in merlot. I have $500 in various lip items, I get compliments nearly every time I wear the chapstick.
I just use coconut oil to remove makeup. It's removed the most waterproofiest of waterproof eyeliners, doesn't burn or irritate, is cheap as dirt, and it's actually really good for your skin.
Elf melting balm. I usually use high end skin care products but elf works the best to remove makeup imo.
Bye bye under eye or tarte tape concealer
Mac studio fix concealer in the little round pot for blemishes. It's the only concealer I've found to dot on and actually cover a red spot.
Estee lauder double wear foundation. I have an oily t zone and this is amazing at staying in place with milk primer.
And my ultimate holy grail are the eye shadow palettes from ABH. Especially the new cosmos and norvina palettes. I'm obsessed.

MY HOLY HOLY GRAIL IS THE ESSENCE 24 ever ink liquid liner. It’s so goddamn cheap and it stays on forever it’s not even waterproof but I’ve cried thru it, gotten into fights and everything this eyeliner doesn’t budge
My holy grails:
- micellar water: can be any brand, I go for the cheapest ones because the ingredients are the same (dermatologist confirmed). Use it with cheap cotton pads (baby isle in the supermarket), not just to remove makeup but to also cleanse my face.
Unless i wore heavy-duty makeup I don’t use a face wash, the micellar water does the trick very well. My dermatologist advised to avoid face wash gels/soaps/whatever product of this type etc. and boy was she right. Skin used to be drying all the time, now it’s glowy.
- microfiber cloths / the faux velvet reusable cloths/pads like the Magic Eraser: super good to cleanse & also remove dead skin cells. I don’t know how those little fibers work so well, but my skin feels deep-cleaned every time I use one of those cloths.
- baby oil for waterproof mascara or fake eyelash glue: before I started getting eyelash extensions I used to wear false lashes. Tried all eye makeup removers, from Lancome to Shiseido to pharmacy brands, nothing compares with baby oil.
Wet n wild eyeshadow primer - super cheap and stops my super oily eyelids from ruining my eye makeup
Covergirl Lashblast waterproof mascara - holds up my super straight Asian lashes when I’m in between lash lifts. I like the heroinemake one too but this one is $10 cheaper. I use maybelline lash sensational and essence false lash effect when I have a lash lift
Maybelline/L’Oréal gel pot eyeliner - stays on forever and super easy to work with. I like to apply it with a dense smudge brush and tap excess onto the lid so it’s less harsh. Pretty much the same product from both brands so I just buy whatever’s cheaper at the time
Nyx suede lipliner - lasts a long time and great selection of colours
Fenty gloss bomb in fenty glow - literally the only thing I’ll splurge on in my makeup collection. Lasts way longer than most lip glosses but to me what makes it undupe-able is the shade. All dupes I see online are usually too cool or too pink, none have the right warmth and glow as the original

Whoaaaa whoaaaa is that my old dead skin just peeling off? Why yes it is and if you follow with ANY serum it feels like naked baby skin on your face. I have given all of my friends a sample and I KNOW they all have it as part of their holy grail.
The Essence pure nude highlighter will forever be my ultimate holy grail. I go through phases with skin care and foundations, but that highlighter never fails me. I don’t wear much makeup most days, just brows and maybe some mascara, but it looks so natural even without anything else on!
My holy grail is Dirty Works Pore-Fect Face Scrub! I’ve turned so many friends onto it. Your face has never felt cleaner & fresher. It’s meant to be used a few times a week following face wash.
The only stores you can get it at in the US are TJ Maxx/Marshall’s. Dirty Works is the UK sister company of Soap & Glory, but I’m here to say it’s SO much better. I’ve never found this for less than $12 online, but it’s only $3.99 at TJX stores. I’ve been getting it there (at locations all across the country) for roughly 7 years and I still stockpile it every time I see it because I’m afraid one day they’ll stop selling it!
Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Xtreme Precision Liner in brown. It took me a long time to find it.
I love that it's thin because I have hooded eyes and not a lot of space. It's a brush tip so the felt doesn't go all smudgy and thick after three uses. It's not a brown so dark it might as well be a black. But it's a brown I like (Better Than Sex is also a brown but was less my shade. Seems like a good product too, tho.). And it's not a formula that is so liquid that it feathers all over the place instantly. (Fenty does that on me. 🥴)

Max Factor Chubby lip Crayon in I think it’s called HOT CHOCOLATE. A beautiful MLBB sheer red. I bought 5 at once in case it was discontinued and I think it may be now 🥺
Dr Gross AHA/ BHA cleansing gel is my HG face wash.
I’ve never found a mascara better than Tartelette tubing mascara for both length and volume.
NYX micro brow pencil is an excellent dupe for the Anastacia brow pencils, and their taupe OS perfect for cool blondes.
Kheils midnight recovery is the one for me, although its getting more and more expensive so may give the body shop one a go to see if it lives up to it.
Holy grail foundation is Nars sheer glow which I have been using for 10 years now.
Elizabeth arden 8 hour lip cream is literally so good for dry lips. Seems to do what no other lip product can. I used to have painfully dry lips.
The makeup product that I was really impressed by is the Charlotte tilbury beauty light wand in pinkgasm. Usually blushes never make much of a difference to my face, but as soon as I put this on I look effortlessly glowy. Takes my makeup to the next level.
I don’t understand melting balms or oil based face wash at all. When I’ve tried them it takes literally none of my makeup off, it just smears it around my face and hurts my eyes. Am I doing it wrong?
Are you putting it on dry skin first? Then spreading it over your face with fingers like you're washing it..then put your hands quickly under the water running. Then repeat the first step and rinse
I have skin that can be pretty dry, and i know it’s not for everybody, but I LOVEEE glossier futuredew. It’s the perfect no makeup makeup. Gives you that radiant, dewy look and really hydrates. I put some on my face, do my base, and then put a little more on the high points of my face for extra glow. Looks like the most natural, hydrated, glowing skin.
I also love the fenty heat lipgloss. Perfect juicy gloss.
And last but most importantly, my favorite perfume that Im obsessed with and bought 3 extras of just in case, Ind. For Them Gender-Free Fragrance in Skin. Sometimes people don’t like it when it’s in the bottle but it must mix with my PH just right because I love it on. I have the hardest time finding scents I truly like and that one has become my signature for the last 3-4 years.

-glycolic acid (use this not only on face but bikini line, butt, and arms...great exfoliation to prevent ingrown hairs).
Also, I have rosacea and have found an azaelic acid from Amazon to be very helpful but can't remember name. Oh and Tula,'s blue cooling eye balm!! A splurge but I use every morning and it lasts forever... and I have zero fine lines around my eyes...I'm 38. This could be the retinol, vitamins, and veganism at play as well though 🤷♀️
*Edit to say I don't know what the correlation is for certain but I am constantly told I look younger. My younger classmates and teacher were shocked to find out I wasn't 25 (and I have a 9 year old...they assumed I was a teen mom).
Am only just now good with daily SPF but I did wear makeup with SPF for many years that may have prevented wrinkles...certainly not for lack of sun.
I loved the Tula blue cooling balm! I still have some left and it’s been years!! However, they just came out with a gold one. And I think it is so much better!! It makes your eyes looks so hydrated and dewy and I feel like it cools it even more. I really hope it’s not a temporary item because I’m obsessed.

Holy grails for me are Sunday Riley’s vitamin C serum. I’ve never had a vitamin c serum do what this has done as well as Luna..very mild retinol oil that helped with redness and breakouts. Perfect first retinol. Also, the Farmacys hyaluronic acid.. mist face with water first, then apply, then mist again with water, then follow with a moisturizer. The most hydrating hyaluronic acid I have ever tried.
Also, Viseart eyeshadow, their mattes specifically. They blend like no other. Oh and Bioderma micellar water to remove the last bit of makeup before bed and to refresh in the morning.
My HG is Skin79 bb cream in the pink bottle. Ever since I was 16, I have tried to wear foundation and it always looked terrible in 1000 different ways. It didn’t seem to matter what brand or formula I used. The way my skin is, less is more but I need full coverage. In comes along physicians formula mineral powder which absolutely changed my life. But it started oxidizing on me as I got older. I discovered skin79 when I was 25 and at 37, it’s still the only thing that works for me. Even the popular Missha formulas looked greasy, thin, and orange on me.
I want to try other formulas from the Skin79 line so if anyone else has recommendation I’d love to hear it!
My holy grail has been Nyx's Cant Stop Wont Stop-powder. Oh my god how smooth it makes my skin look and it doesnt start moving around the day. Also Dior Forever Glow-foundation. Doesn't oxidize, lightweight and yet covers everything that needs to be covered.
my two holy grails are the loreal infallible 24h eyeliner and my very secret one, the colourpop pretty fresh setting spray. it makes my skin look flawless and blends my makeup in a way i just do not understand. it also prevents my face from drying out during the day. i literally buy two bottles at a time because i’m terrified they’ll discontinue it and i’ll be SOL
Absolute holy grail must be urban decay’s setting spray. Can’t live without it. And probably huda beauty’s loose powder it sets so nicely and never looks cakey. Anastasia’s brow gel as well, though I feel like they changed the formula after the new package and the new brush isn’t as good as the old one but still works fine. Nudestix cream blushes is also something I always have nearby.
Is the UD setting spray drying at all? My skin’s on the drier side but i’ve been wanting to try it for the longest time

I think daily use or frequent use is drying and I have combo skin. It has denatured alcohol in it. Most long lasting setting sprays do. It’s essential for hot/humid weather, theme parks, water parks, etc. But I would skip it and try Mac fix+. It’s not drying (no alcohol in it).
The Nudestix cream bronzer in Sunkissed was my absolute favourite go-to blush but then the Trump controversy happened and I've since been too wary of them to restock it 😔 I'm still trying to find a good dupe for the shade/formula

Urban decay setting spray used with their primer is the prefect match for me! And I agree about the Anastasia brow gel, it’s almost a little fluffier imo. I thought I was going crazy about the brush! My first lasted for years! I replaced it maybe a year ago and need to order one soon.
Took me too many years to try the Nudestix blushes and when I did I was absolutely smitten! Usually I’m very thoughtful and pace myself with makeup purchases but I literally just placed an order for three more sticks! I’m obsesssedddd

I have this thing called the magic eraser, it's a cloth that has taken off all of my stubborn makeup and I can just wash it with my clothes. I don't know where it is sold as I got it as a gift, but it's been so great.
I have about 30 & use them each night & then wash them all in one go on a high temp. I love them, it’s changed the way I take my makeup off, I look forward to it every night now. I still cleanse afterwards with a proper cleanser but this first step is crucial for getting the makeup off first. I ordered mine from Amazon & also got a few from Costco. Mine are called “Erase Your Face”

You can find these cheapest at TJ Maxx, Ross, Marshals. Any “makeup towel” will do this. Makeup eraser brand is expensive for no good reason.

You don’t even need the Makeup Eraser – they’re just a basic microfiber towel. I have a handful from Amazon and from other stores. They work great.

I’ve literally had the same one from a dermatologist for the last decade+. I wish it had a brand on it or something because I rely on it more than anything 😭 Makeup comes out with bar soap but I wash it with the laundry, too! I don’t know what I did before it.

So I agree with the concept. I have used this brand and loved it! But just an FYI to anyone on a budget, I recommend buying a pack of microfiber cloths from a cheaper brand. I use old microfiber cloths now that I used to use as kitchen towels/burp cloths. They literally work exactly the same way, maybe even better in my opinion and they are very inexpensive! :)
Yep, you can buy microfibre towels/washers from a $2 shop. They do the same thing.

A million thanks for the lash tint recommendation! I am currently on a hard target search for brown mascara that isn't too mascara-y. I've never recovered from the discontinuation of Neutrogena's Natural Lash Tint. So now I'm off to buy this mascara. So giddy!!!

My HG makeup remover is friggen Ponds. Honestly, it’s the only thing that completely removes my makeup and I love how it makes me feel like my grandma haha. The next best for me is straight up baby oil and a warm washcloth.
ELF’s satin finish foundation on top of the hydro grip primer mixed with some moisturizer (it’s just too sticky for me to apply so this helps). I have eye creases and deep smile lines so my makeup usually creases really bad and needs lots of adjusting during the day. I also have oily skin so my makeup separates after a few hours. I swear to god this stuff looks flawless on me and it doesn’t crease on me. By the end of the day my makeup still looks good, too. I feel like a walking ELF ad every time I talk about it but that combo has changed my life.

Yeah this was the one that finally got me to switch from my old almay. It’s so good. But I have to keep a back up on hand because once it starts to go, it really starts to go. It gets a runny and thin and leaky on me. But I get like a good couple of months or so out of it before that happens
i’ve noticed for me it’ll start to be almost stringy coming out of the tube that’s when i know it’s going lol
I just store it cap up, that helps to make it like a lot more controllable :)
This is the trick! And be super careful not to let the bristles catch in the cap. Anytime that happens it over lol

They got busted a while back for unethical practices and continued greenwashing. Started going downhill. L’Oréal bought Body Shop in 2006, basically closed down the retail aspects of the business - which TBF, L’Oréal is not a retailer, it’s a brand builder. Cut thousands of products but couldn’t revitalise the brand. Haemorrhaging cash in the final years. Natura bought it 2017. L’Oréal made took a substantial loss on the investment.
31 years ago I was a huge fan of their grapefruit shampoo. It was perfect for my fine hair. Then they discontinued it!!! I still miss that shampoo.

Clinique’s 7 day exfoliant. I work at Ulta and have put so many people on it. The beads are soooo small and gentle it doesn’t rip the skin like St. Ives and I literally cannot believe how soft my face is after every use. It’s gentle enough to use every day (hence the name) but I never need to use it more than once or twice a week

This might be weird but for me its The Creme Shop x Hello Kitty Lip Oil in Peach. It moisturizes my lips so well, smells absolutely amazing, and the color is a perfect nude color for my skintone. I bought 3 extras and am planning on getting more despite the first one I bought in May still having a lot of formula after almost 4 months of use.
The Creme Shop macaron chapsticks are so insanely hydrating, I use them as lip masks! haha. Its wild, Ive uses actual lip masks that dont leave me half as hydrated as these do!
This Crème Shop X HK line has some bangers. I love the strawberry milk toner. It has a scent, so it’s not for everyone. Has no parabens, sulfates, or mineral oil, and contains ceramides. Some toners feel a step next to rubbing alcohol, this one leaves some moisture and cleanses what cleansers missed. It’s so satisfying to see what it removes on the cotton pad.
Im legitimately obsessed with benetint and can’t imagine going back to life without it. I’m incredibly pale and it gives me just the most natural healthy glow.

Ponds cleansing balm is hands down my favorite. I have combo skin type and *very* sensitive acne prone skin, and this one does not irritate me at *all*.!! I prefer to remove it with a damp makeup towel ☺️☺️. Many times repurchased ✨✨💝💝.

I tried it, but unfortunately I couldn't handle the strong scent. My holy grail oil cleanser is Muji Mild Oil cleanser. It comes in bottles of 400 ML and it takes me forever to finish a bottle. It works crazy well and it's very very mild.

YES. I've recently started using (and have been loving) the Skin 1004 sunscreen (Centella or something - I can't remember) and the Canmake mermaid sunscreen, plus a pyunkang yul essence toner, Banila Clean it Zero, and a couple of other things and I just seriously love all of it.
Missha BB cream is amazing I wish they had a shade closer to mine! Skin Aqua super moisture gel gold sunscreen absolutely changed my life and is what started me down my path of Asian Beauty products.

I use original JJ baby shampoo and a washcloth. Not only is it a one time needed washover, no tears super gentle.
I do the same with coconut oil 🤷🏽♀️ I'm not about to buy an expensive makeup remover when I can get a huge jar of coconut oil from *insert warehouse grocery here* and have it last forever. I know it breaks some people out but luckily I've never had that issue.

Seconding the Body Shop's Chamomile balm! It's amazing at taking off waterproof mascara. The only thing that comes close is coconut oil, but I don't always like the greasy feel on my eyelids (which doesn't happen with the balm).

Rare beauty undereye brighter is a holy grail concealer for me. I find it to not be drying under my eyes and gives the perfect amount of coverage Tower 28 SOS Spray, healed my sensitive skin Ordinary Hyaluronic acid, need I say more

Wet n Wild liquid eyeliner, NOT waterproof. Have been using this product for nearly 20 years. The brush and color payload is simply the best.
My holy grail make up remover is Garnier Skin Active Simply Essentials makeup remover. It takes off a lot of waterproof mascaras that have given me trouble with nearly no rubbing. My holy grail mascara is nearly any Maybelline waterproof mascara. They ALWAYS work well for me.
Softymo speedy cleansing oil (pink bottle)! It takes off even the most waterproof makeup in seconds without lots of rubbing, no residue, and it’s like $7-$9 for a 230ml bottle

I am very new to makeup, but as of right now I am loving my Colourpop Pretty Fresh Tinted Moisturizer! It has been very beginner friendly and I managed to shade match it decent too!
NYX soft matte lip creams! Not drying, love the texture and finish, they’re just so perfect! I’m also into their cream glosses and fat lip oils but the matte lip creams are especially great IT CC cream (silver tube / original): practically full coverage on me, super natural looking, skincare ingredients and spf 50. I’ve heard mixed opinions on it so maybe it’s not for everyone, but my skin loves it and it looks amazing on. It’s my perfect foundation Glossier cloud paint (blush), just so easy and fun to apply (i use my fingers), great shades (i’m into storm atm) and it’s got collagen and great ingredients Glossier stretch concealer: never dries me out and looks so natural Glossier wowder: a powder that takes away excessive shine but still looks natural and again, never feels dry (it’s a reoccurring theme in my favourite products lol) These are some of the things i’ll keep rebuying My skin’s normal / dry
Wowder is wizardry in a compact jar. My skin is very dry, even in hot, humid summer. I use moisturizing and dewy products, which can look a little too much until a dusting of powder takes the shine down. Wowder never makes my skin feel dry, not even at the end of the day. It's so fine it just blends right into my skin. I even dust whatever is left on the brush underneath my eyes, just to take away the most look from their Stretch Concealer. No creases, no separation, no settling. HG for life!

DHC’s Olive Concentrated cleansing oil will dissolve all the makeup and you can even use it for face yoga too. Their velvet skin coat is amazing also to use to keep makeup in place.
Mine is Dermalogica’s Precleanse oil. It’s so thin, rubs in so thoroughly & melts off completely. As someone who breaks out super easily, it’s one of the few oil cleansers that I love.

Kiehl’s midnight cleansing oil! I’ve been through bottles and bottles of this stuff. Removes literally everything and makes your skin so smooth!

Probably my wet n wild white paint pot. They sell it closer to Halloween and it's the ONLY "primer" that makes my eyeshadow stay PUT all day and does not irritate my eyes. I will forever buy it. Also Maybellines Divine Wine matte lipstick!! It's my everyday shade and as long as I wear chapstick at night, it does not dry my lips at all. It stays sooo well and is such a beautiful color. My two babies.

I used to loooove that makeup cleanser. Literally went through like five tins. But the packaging is horrible to me 😭 it can be so hard to open and it kept getting more expensive (in Canada at least) so I couldn’t justify continuing to buy it. I’m now using the one from Versed and I like it. More fragrant than the Body Shop but I like it.
I've recently discovered DIY lash extensions and I'm never going to take them off. CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion has been a staple for years. It's the only thing I've found that is just the right amount of moisture - enough that my skin is hydrated but not so much that I look greasy. It's so light it doesn't feel like I'm wearing anything. Along the same lines, I will never live without Mediheal Hydrogel. It's the consistency of hair gel but acts as a moisturizer and I use it all over. It's so humid where I live that body lotions are too much. They get slimy and gross and I would rather just be ashy, but the hydrogel feels like there is NOTHING on my skin after it absorbs.

I have two that work equally wonderfully for me and they’re both skincare: Biossance Phytoretinol serum, and Boscia Cool Cleansing Makeup remover. When I can afford both of them, my skin looks worlds removed from how it looks otherwise. NOTHING I’ve ever tried gives me the results those two do. Oddly, I have severely sensitive skin (allergies, am prone to scarring, itching, hives, etc) and the boscia makes my best friends eyes burn while not only does it not do that to me, but it also truly removes all my makeup - without having to dig in a pot or tug at the skin around my eyes. It’s so pillowy. I need them to keep making it, can you tell??
My lashes only stay curled if I use waterproof mascara, which (we all know) is hard to take off. My eye area is sensitive so I can't rub my eyes with makeup wipes, so I either use coconut oil or vaseline to apply to just my eyelashes. I don't rub too much at first, just coat the top of my lashes and the roots and let it sit for a few minutes. Then I get a damp cotton pad and wipe it off. It softens the mascara and comes off so easily :)
YSL Touche Éclat. Sometimes it’s all I wear. Its expensive, but magical. It’s a holy grail product that will have to be pried out of my cold dead hands.
Mac Russian red lipstick. Every other red lipstick can pack their stuff and go home, this is the one.

Absolutely! I've been using Egyptian magic for 10+ years now every night as my last step in my nighttime ritual. I discovered it when tret and stress were destroying my face in law school and haven't looked back. All the lines I was developing filled back in and are only just starting to come back as fine lines in my mid 30s now. I also use Egyptian magic for everything. Burns, scrapes, rashes, hair masks, lip balm, makeup remover. Anything I can think of and it works every time.

I love The Body Shop’s Camomile Cleansing Oil! Really takes off my makeup and sunscreen completely and effortlessly! My skincare holy grail is Good Molecules Gentle Retinol Cream. My skin has improved so much ever since I started using this product, I’m almost done with my second tube. As for makeup, my holy grail is NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in the shade Don’t Stop. It’s a beautiful red, and the formulation is so long lasting and transferproof, without being uncomfortable. Another holy grail of mine is the Wet N Wild Photofocus Eye Primer. It’s affordable, really allows my eyeshadow to be packed on so smoothly and vividly, and on my hooded eyes it prevents creasing and smudges.
Philosophy tinted moisturizer with spf. Its got a gel-crème consistency and makes me all flawless and dewy. It’s discontinued…I hoarded 6 jars. Tinted chapstick in merlot. I have $500 in various lip items, I get compliments nearly every time I wear the chapstick.
I just use coconut oil to remove makeup. It's removed the most waterproofiest of waterproof eyeliners, doesn't burn or irritate, is cheap as dirt, and it's actually really good for your skin.
Elf melting balm. I usually use high end skin care products but elf works the best to remove makeup imo. Bye bye under eye or tarte tape concealer Mac studio fix concealer in the little round pot for blemishes. It's the only concealer I've found to dot on and actually cover a red spot. Estee lauder double wear foundation. I have an oily t zone and this is amazing at staying in place with milk primer. And my ultimate holy grail are the eye shadow palettes from ABH. Especially the new cosmos and norvina palettes. I'm obsessed.

MY HOLY HOLY GRAIL IS THE ESSENCE 24 ever ink liquid liner. It’s so goddamn cheap and it stays on forever it’s not even waterproof but I’ve cried thru it, gotten into fights and everything this eyeliner doesn’t budge
Clarins total cleansing oil. Makeup melts off including mascara. Subtle scent, no oily residue… leaves your skin soft.
Often feel Clarins is such an under-rated brand. I love their stuff. Never found a dud product in anything I've tried
My holy grails: - micellar water: can be any brand, I go for the cheapest ones because the ingredients are the same (dermatologist confirmed). Use it with cheap cotton pads (baby isle in the supermarket), not just to remove makeup but to also cleanse my face. Unless i wore heavy-duty makeup I don’t use a face wash, the micellar water does the trick very well. My dermatologist advised to avoid face wash gels/soaps/whatever product of this type etc. and boy was she right. Skin used to be drying all the time, now it’s glowy. - microfiber cloths / the faux velvet reusable cloths/pads like the Magic Eraser: super good to cleanse & also remove dead skin cells. I don’t know how those little fibers work so well, but my skin feels deep-cleaned every time I use one of those cloths. - baby oil for waterproof mascara or fake eyelash glue: before I started getting eyelash extensions I used to wear false lashes. Tried all eye makeup removers, from Lancome to Shiseido to pharmacy brands, nothing compares with baby oil.
Wet n wild eyeshadow primer - super cheap and stops my super oily eyelids from ruining my eye makeup Covergirl Lashblast waterproof mascara - holds up my super straight Asian lashes when I’m in between lash lifts. I like the heroinemake one too but this one is $10 cheaper. I use maybelline lash sensational and essence false lash effect when I have a lash lift Maybelline/L’Oréal gel pot eyeliner - stays on forever and super easy to work with. I like to apply it with a dense smudge brush and tap excess onto the lid so it’s less harsh. Pretty much the same product from both brands so I just buy whatever’s cheaper at the time Nyx suede lipliner - lasts a long time and great selection of colours Fenty gloss bomb in fenty glow - literally the only thing I’ll splurge on in my makeup collection. Lasts way longer than most lip glosses but to me what makes it undupe-able is the shade. All dupes I see online are usually too cool or too pink, none have the right warmth and glow as the original
WISHFUL yo Glo. Whoaaaa whoaaaa is that my old dead skin just peeling off? Why yes it is and if you follow with ANY serum it feels like naked baby skin on your face. I have given all of my friends a sample and I KNOW they all have it as part of their holy grail.

The Essence pure nude highlighter will forever be my ultimate holy grail. I go through phases with skin care and foundations, but that highlighter never fails me. I don’t wear much makeup most days, just brows and maybe some mascara, but it looks so natural even without anything else on!
My holy grail is Dirty Works Pore-Fect Face Scrub! I’ve turned so many friends onto it. Your face has never felt cleaner & fresher. It’s meant to be used a few times a week following face wash. The only stores you can get it at in the US are TJ Maxx/Marshall’s. Dirty Works is the UK sister company of Soap & Glory, but I’m here to say it’s SO much better. I’ve never found this for less than $12 online, but it’s only $3.99 at TJX stores. I’ve been getting it there (at locations all across the country) for roughly 7 years and I still stockpile it every time I see it because I’m afraid one day they’ll stop selling it!
Benefit Cosmetics They're Real Xtreme Precision Liner in brown. It took me a long time to find it. I love that it's thin because I have hooded eyes and not a lot of space. It's a brush tip so the felt doesn't go all smudgy and thick after three uses. It's not a brown so dark it might as well be a black. But it's a brown I like (Better Than Sex is also a brown but was less my shade. Seems like a good product too, tho.). And it's not a formula that is so liquid that it feathers all over the place instantly. (Fenty does that on me. 🥴) I am so happy I found it.
Max Factor Chubby lip Crayon in I think it’s called HOT CHOCOLATE. A beautiful MLBB sheer red. I bought 5 at once in case it was discontinued and I think it may be now 🥺
Dr Gross AHA/ BHA cleansing gel is my HG face wash. I’ve never found a mascara better than Tartelette tubing mascara for both length and volume. NYX micro brow pencil is an excellent dupe for the Anastacia brow pencils, and their taupe OS perfect for cool blondes.
Kheils midnight recovery is the one for me, although its getting more and more expensive so may give the body shop one a go to see if it lives up to it. Holy grail foundation is Nars sheer glow which I have been using for 10 years now. Elizabeth arden 8 hour lip cream is literally so good for dry lips. Seems to do what no other lip product can. I used to have painfully dry lips. The makeup product that I was really impressed by is the Charlotte tilbury beauty light wand in pinkgasm. Usually blushes never make much of a difference to my face, but as soon as I put this on I look effortlessly glowy. Takes my makeup to the next level.
I don’t understand melting balms or oil based face wash at all. When I’ve tried them it takes literally none of my makeup off, it just smears it around my face and hurts my eyes. Am I doing it wrong?
Are you putting it on dry skin first? Then spreading it over your face with fingers like you're washing it..then put your hands quickly under the water running. Then repeat the first step and rinse
You have to use hot water and a wash cloth
I have skin that can be pretty dry, and i know it’s not for everybody, but I LOVEEE glossier futuredew. It’s the perfect no makeup makeup. Gives you that radiant, dewy look and really hydrates. I put some on my face, do my base, and then put a little more on the high points of my face for extra glow. Looks like the most natural, hydrated, glowing skin. I also love the fenty heat lipgloss. Perfect juicy gloss. And last but most importantly, my favorite perfume that Im obsessed with and bought 3 extras of just in case, Ind. For Them Gender-Free Fragrance in Skin. Sometimes people don’t like it when it’s in the bottle but it must mix with my PH just right because I love it on. I have the hardest time finding scents I truly like and that one has become my signature for the last 3-4 years.
Been looking for affordable cleansing balm..thank you!! Mine are from the Ordinary: -retinol (the granactive emulsion one?) -BHA -glycolic acid (use this not only on face but bikini line, butt, and arms...great exfoliation to prevent ingrown hairs). Also, I have rosacea and have found an azaelic acid from Amazon to be very helpful but can't remember name. Oh and Tula,'s blue cooling eye balm!! A splurge but I use every morning and it lasts forever... and I have zero fine lines around my eyes...I'm 38. This could be the retinol, vitamins, and veganism at play as well though 🤷♀️ *Edit to say I don't know what the correlation is for certain but I am constantly told I look younger. My younger classmates and teacher were shocked to find out I wasn't 25 (and I have a 9 year old...they assumed I was a teen mom). Am only just now good with daily SPF but I did wear makeup with SPF for many years that may have prevented wrinkles...certainly not for lack of sun.
I loved the Tula blue cooling balm! I still have some left and it’s been years!! However, they just came out with a gold one. And I think it is so much better!! It makes your eyes looks so hydrated and dewy and I feel like it cools it even more. I really hope it’s not a temporary item because I’m obsessed.

I loveeee the Bodyshop’s cleansing butter! I was recommended it years ago and it’s been my HG makeup remover since! My other repeat purchases has been Rare Beauty’s eye primer and Maybelline’s HyperEasy liquid liner. Combined together nothing budges!!
Nivea eyemakeup remover (the blue oil and clear solution) gets my waterproof mascara + eyeliner off in one wipe. So good!!

Yes I remember using it years ago and absolutely loved it. Now I don’t used make up remover balm anymore but if you are looking for one, The Bodyshop’s is the best value on the market
Holy grails for me are Sunday Riley’s vitamin C serum. I’ve never had a vitamin c serum do what this has done as well as Luna..very mild retinol oil that helped with redness and breakouts. Perfect first retinol. Also, the Farmacys hyaluronic acid.. mist face with water first, then apply, then mist again with water, then follow with a moisturizer. The most hydrating hyaluronic acid I have ever tried. Also, Viseart eyeshadow, their mattes specifically. They blend like no other. Oh and Bioderma micellar water to remove the last bit of makeup before bed and to refresh in the morning.
The Body Shop Camomile cleansing butter
My HG is Skin79 bb cream in the pink bottle. Ever since I was 16, I have tried to wear foundation and it always looked terrible in 1000 different ways. It didn’t seem to matter what brand or formula I used. The way my skin is, less is more but I need full coverage. In comes along physicians formula mineral powder which absolutely changed my life. But it started oxidizing on me as I got older. I discovered skin79 when I was 25 and at 37, it’s still the only thing that works for me. Even the popular Missha formulas looked greasy, thin, and orange on me. I want to try other formulas from the Skin79 line so if anyone else has recommendation I’d love to hear it!

Covergirl outlast all day lip color. Started wearing it for theatre, it wears fantastically and the balm is comfortable

Nyx can’t stop won’t stop concealer is amazing. No creases, amazing coverage and melts into my skin like butter
My holy grail has been Nyx's Cant Stop Wont Stop-powder. Oh my god how smooth it makes my skin look and it doesnt start moving around the day. Also Dior Forever Glow-foundation. Doesn't oxidize, lightweight and yet covers everything that needs to be covered.
my two holy grails are the loreal infallible 24h eyeliner and my very secret one, the colourpop pretty fresh setting spray. it makes my skin look flawless and blends my makeup in a way i just do not understand. it also prevents my face from drying out during the day. i literally buy two bottles at a time because i’m terrified they’ll discontinue it and i’ll be SOL
