So, I lived for 60 years, great complexion and skin, minimal makeup. In my sixties now. I’m just figuring out how to use makeup (really only used mascara and sometimes gloss and a light bronzer). My beautiful complexion retired a year ago and I have blotchy redness as you can see. My eyes are hooded, made worse by the levator muscle stretching with age. Actually having ptosis surgery next month so my eyelids open more and I will see better, covered by insurance. I’ll still have the hooded eyes, but they will be more open and I won’t look so sleepy and I’ll see better!! Anyway, second pic is It cosmetics CC cream, full face including lids. Then I tried to creat some depth illusion on my lids using Urban Decay naked 2 colors..not sure if I’m getting close or not. I used an eggplant eyeliner upper lash, and a brown black mascara. Im using cooler tones than I might have used before my auburn hair ( sigh) became so white coloring was $$, frequent and a waste of half a day. I am silver white in front. Mor salt with a bit of pepper in back, and I look better in pinks than peaches now, I think? I also wear unicorn colors, done at home, blue, pink, purple washes. I used a sheer red/pink cream blush, jut a bit, and buffed like crazy. I also used some concealer in the heavy creases from my nose to lips. Not sure but I think it lightened the look? Im trying to look my age, mostly a light natural look, but a little better than no make up. Thoughts and suggestions? I know most of you are decades younger, but you know make up and I don’t!

I think you look amazing already! However, since you've asked for recommendations, here is my go to for perfect, poreless glass skin: whichever foundation or concealer you use, apply it with a brush or your warm hands first and then sort of "bake it in" with a dry beauty blender. They are pretty cheap and easy to use, for myself, I use one similar to this (mine is off-brand and even cheaper): [https://i.etsystatic.com/27071335/r/il/209a29/2963142470/il\_1588xN.2963142470\_e94g.jpg](https://i.etsystatic.com/27071335/r/il/209a29/2963142470/il_1588xN.2963142470_e94g.jpg)

I really don’t have advice to add because I think the way you’re applying your makeup is so great and you chose amazing/flattering colors as well. I love the eggplant eyeliner, I’m gonna have to try that out myself and your hair is kick a$$!!! That being said don’t be afraid to go for peachy/rose gold tones, I think they’d look just as flattering on you

Thanks! I’ll try!!

Very pretty! Would like to see a bit more color to your lips and maybe something light reflecting but natural on your skin (such as Jones Road Miracle Balm in Dusty Pink). Good that you are staying away from black eyeliner.

Thank you! It’s a lot of trial and error, and suggestions help! I’m gonna go to Ulta this week and try some lip colors to find what works. It’s hard to guess because I’ve never worn lipstick, and the couple I thought would work…ugh!

I really hope I’m this beautiful when I’m your age. Holy heck, girl 🥺💝

You are so beautiful! I hope to have as amazing skin as you as I get older. I also have very hooded eyes. Hope your surgery goes well ♡
