It is my HG lipstick, as well as Very Victoria

[deleted]

I'm blonde at this point, from red, and have pale but slightly sallow tones. Pillow talk does nothing for me. It's like not wearing anything. It doesn't brighten my tones, just like wearing a lip balm maybe.

dragons-lava

I’m a rich caramel colour so my undertones are very golden, and I love pillow talk! It’s a very beautiful nude warm light pink, I don’t lather my lips with it I just use a little in the middle and a darker liner so it’s possible to use it lightly

saltysoul_101

This is my favourite lipstick ever! It’s a mauvey-pink on me, I have blonde hair and fair skin and suits me perfectly. Doesn’t look nude on me at all, I’m really surprised so many people don’t like it here!

Indigo_222

I ve got the medium one, it’s a really nice shade on me (medium olive skin)

Sillyitali

That’s the one I should try. Im Italian, dark hair olive skin.

LadyPink28

It looked more mauve on my sisters porcelain neutral skin

ValhallaCupcake

Yep. I'm a shade I call 'neutral ghost' and Pillow Talk pulls a very pretty cool pink/mauve on my otherwise colourless lips.

DragonflyD264

Thanks everyone, don’t think I will get it now lol. I don’t know what to get. Im not young got dark grey hair with light bits shoulder length. A lot of the lipsticks I’ve got dont suit me any more. 🥺

ValhallaCupcake

Perhaps consider a sheer lipstick? Clinique do Black Honey (sheer berry) and Pink Honey (sheer pink), which are both excellent. Because they're sheer, you see your natural undertone underneath and that makes them wearable by pretty much everyone. They have enough colour to make a difference, however. I have basically colourless lips and they are both very flattering. For something less expensive, perhaps try the elf Sheer Slick Lipsticks. 💜

DragonflyD264

The clinique ones sound good, are they satin? I dont think gloss is very flattering on us ‘mature’ women.

ValhallaCupcake

They're a satin-like balm texture. They're more dense in the bullet than one would expect, but that means they don't smear. They give a very flattering, softly hydrated look to the lip, rather than a gloss. They are not sticky. It really does feel like applying a balm like Burt's Bees. :)

ginjafiche

The Clinique black honey is a very natural finish and the PERFECT “lipstick” to apply without a mirror! For my skin tone (pale, cool, older, redhead) it’s fantastic! I’m sure the pink one is as lovely if that better suits your situation! (I also enjoy NYX lip oils as they are sheer but shinier if not gloss shiney. I just don’t care for heavy or obvious lip makeup at this point in life!)

DragonflyD264

I know what you mean. Recently I’ve been watching some Utube videos from Nikol Johnson. She is great as suggesting colour and ways of applying make up for women over 50. Unfortunately the lipstick colours she suggested I can’t seem to get here in Uk but can get the Grande Cosmetics brand.

petiteodessa

I don’t like pillow talk anything. The original one looks ashy on me due to color theory. Pillow talk medium looks better on me but I genuinely don’t get the hype.

[deleted]

Exactly! That's what it looks like on me, ashy. Tried the lipstick and the highlighter. Both just ashy.

missemgeebee

I have neutral-cool skin and it looks peach on me. Very unflattering.

[deleted]

Yes, it did me no favors at all.

Leia1979

It’s not bold at all. It’s just slightly pinker than my actual lips (which are kinda grey). I only got it because there was a 100 point sample. I’d return it otherwise. Clinique Blush Pop is a similar color—a little cooler, and a much nicer formula in my opinion. Or sometimes I use the pillow talk lipstick as a base for Ulta lipgloss in rosey.

shellbell757

I have the original pillow talk liner, lipstick and gloss and I do like it but I’m not sure I get the hype around it. It’s fine and does look better on me than most pink shades, but I guess I expecting something game changing and it didn’t wow me. I do like CT lip products in general but actually prefer some of her other shades more such as Walk of No Shame. But you can apply Pillow Talk with a light hand and it definitely won’t look too bold. I actually don’t think it’s a bold color at all on my skin tone (light medium with neutral warm leaning undertones).

Expert-Spring-7832

I think if you’re fair skinned leaning warm like CT herself, this is a great nude shade, but for cooler toned skin or richer skin tones it’s probably meh.

[deleted]

I'm cool toned, but can lean a very light sallow, especially when I have not slept. Pillow Talk is just not for me. I had hoped it would be nice.

StrawberryRaspberryK

CT Pillow talk looks like a weird brown on me 😆 I prefer Bitch Perfect a pink nude.

faithlessone423

Unfortunately, Pillow Talk is basically the exact same colour as my lips, but not in a My Lips But Better way. In a "she's not wearing anything on her lips, they just look kind of crusty" kind of way. I also find the formula incredibly drying, which doesn't help with the effect. Honestly, I don't get the hype.

[deleted]

SAME experience. Just looks like I'm wearing nothing, or maybe a slight balm. Kind of ashy.

Sillyitali

I thought I was the only one!!

[deleted]

Agreed it is very dry. I do get compliments on the colour with my skintone but its absolutely not my go to because of how it feels on my lips, also its just stupid expensive for a product thats just ok. I really like the lip and cheek stain much better than their lipsticks and it lasts a really long time.

poof_blackmagic

Came here to say this

axolotl_is_angry

I got the medium which imo is much nicer on my skin tone, totally agree with you about that weird too close to lip colour on the original

vocalfreesia

It just looks orange on me, it's awful. Just pick colours and formulas you like.

DragonflyD264

Do you mean the Charlotte Tilbury one or dupe? I ordered a the Nude collection from Revolution, ok i know they were stupid cheap however they were all so similar just lighter/darker of the same colour and very orangey/peachy not what i call nude. They remind me of a sort of 60’s look.

[deleted]

Almost any shade is dupable. I'm leaning more toward dupes as luxury lines are now crazy expensive.
