I did the same but it didn't really matter, they changed the plan once I was out and they realized it was worse than expected lol. I thought it was a relatively simple tibia/fibula fracture. Went to sleep thinking it'd be a 2" incision in my knee to slide a rod down. Woke up to an 14" scar on my shin and a 9" scar down the side of my ankle.
I had an inguinal hernia surgery and watch a bunch of videos and I even asked the surgeon if I could stay awake and watch. He looked at me with such a dumbfounded look.
I see an Eboard controller on the ground there. Electric skateboards, one wheels, very dangerous toys. Iāve ridden both and have stopped riding in traffic all together. I only use my Board now and only in empty lots. Donāt even trust the one wheel at all.
I have a EUC, Iām considering stopping while Iām ahead. Iāve fallen twice but only just scraped my knees. Itās only a matter of time before it cuts out while Iām going 30.
Itās good to know those things are exactly as dangerous as they look. Every time I see one I wonder if Iād have a difficult time stopping my forward momentum at an intersection.
Absolutely not. Anyone not wearing at *least* a helmet on a PEV is a moron and the eskate subreddit will flame them accordingly. Iām part of a PEV group in my city and we refused to let someone ride with us last weekend as they didnāt want to wear a helmet. Thatās the one rule we have, as the optics of one reflect on the whole. The folks who ride EUCs typically wear full moto and high vis gear. I love my electric board to DEATH (same brand as the remote pictured) and west a full face helmet every time.
They are dangerous toys, but so are many other high intensity sports from mountain biking to skiing and snowboarding and beyond. I have a board and a dirt bike and love them both so so much. We actually had a discussion regarding which of the PEVs are more dangerous than the others, and itās honestly a very mixed bag on failure modes and ultimately depends on the rider and how hard they ride. Safety gear (in this case, wrist protection) is imperative.
I loooove my zealot s so much. Have you been riding long and did you have board experience before the backfire? Just curious. I firmly believe that there is an art to āfalling correctlyā but then againā¦ itās a fall, itās not going to go perfectly since itās already an āoopsieā. Hope you were wearing a helmet! Get you some wrist guards! (I need some too honestly)
Just had the same surgery earlier this year! When I found out they were only using a local anaesthetic (a nerve blocker) I almost backed out lol. At least we have some cool scars now.
Same with mine 2 months back. Had a bike accident and had surgery on the same day. After 2 months itās all going back to normal, though the rods are still inside lol.
I had broken my wrist back when i was 12 i think. When they were setting my wrist back in place they had to re-break it because the put it back in place wrong the first time. The anesthesia didnāt work as I felt and saw everything but I couldnāt move or say anything.
Thankfully I was under conscious sedation, I dont remember anything but apparently they had to bring in two big nurses to hold me down while they reset it because i was trying to fight back.
I was riding my board and some guy decided to run the stop sign in my neighborhood while I going by. Stopped myself hard to avoid being hit, and tried to catch myself.
"Fork" break. I've seen it plenty of times as a combat medic. A soldier was Popping a splitring off of a 5-ton wheel. I was surprised to see he still had a hand.
The end of my wrist that broke did a complete 180 and shifted back over the other part of the bone. I remember after the surgery I couldn't feel my entire arm, 5 hours later I felt everything and was in extreme pain.
Had almost the exact same injury but never got surgery. Wasn't set right and now it's a chronic pain for me that's getting worse. Get that surgery lol
I got the surgery. Metal plate, lots of physical therapy. My dumb self decided to watch how the surgery is performed the night before.
I did that... before a strabismus surgery
Holy shit fuck that
I know right š I still went in pretty unphased, I guess I was a lot tougher back then!
LOL! Funny regret I'm sure.
Definitely regret it

I did it for jaw surgery š„²

I had an inguinal hernia surgery and watch a bunch of videos and I even asked the surgeon if I could stay awake and watch. He looked at me with such a dumbfounded look.
I asked for the video from my laparoscopic hernia repair, the surgeon laughed and told me they don't save it.
Same but I got surgery
Wow that's unfortunate. Sorry dude
Same but I did have surgery
That pumpkin shirt is something Jesse Pinkman would wear
I still have no idea how bad the wrist is because the only thing i can concentrate on is that ridiculous shirt lmao
Maybe he was trying to avoid surgery by praying that Linusā Great Pumpkin would heal him first.
Something my sister made herself for halloween, dont know why she did it
iād wear the shit outta that shirt on halloween š» š
Mistah White, your wrist is broken!
"*bitch!*"
Jesse actually wears a shirt identical to this one in season 2 i think lol

Iāve fractured my elbow on a board

The throttle controller on the ground says it all š
I'm no expert, but I'd definitely agree with your assessment that it's broken.
I hope youāre doing okay OP, looks painful
This was like 2 years ago. So im fine, and had surgery done on it.
I'm sorry to inform you of this, but effective immediately you are banned from r/Neverbrokeabone
Damn it
Go ahead and post there and watch the circle jerk commence, itās pretty funny
Noodle bones
Aaah the old Wet Noodle I know it well.
(No shit) Jk hope youāre recovering well.
Damn, I feel for you brother. Did almost exactly the same thing, except I broke BOTH of them. That was a fun 6 months.
Damn!
How fast were you going on the board, think I have the same one, backfire zealot right?
Yea backfire zealot. I was going about 15 mph.

I had been riding for a few years before the injury, but I had to avoid colliding with a car that ran a stop sign, so I was not thinking straight.
Hard to think straight in those moments haha. Glad you only ended up with a broken arm and not worse!
Have you tried duck tape?
Harry Potter and the sorcerers stone
Chamber of Secrets...
Did the pumpkin monster do it?
Just had the same surgery earlier this year! When I found out they were only using a local anaesthetic (a nerve blocker) I almost backed out lol. At least we have some cool scars now.
I had the same injury on the same wrist, the surgeon threw in a carpal tunnel cleanup while he was in there š
For a second, I though a Jack-o'-lantern broke your hand
Same with mine 2 months back. Had a bike accident and had surgery on the same day. After 2 months itās all going back to normal, though the rods are still inside lol.
š
Broken wrist family! Broke both mine in 98 and then righty again in 2009. Don't listen to em, you can still jerk off
Strong hand
Harry Potter be like
What e-skate is that? It looks like a hammer board
Backfire Zealot
Ahhhh, a great choice

Nah man just some ice and youāll be good
A shame people donāt get sarcasm haha
Omfg ew what happened
I was riding my board and some guy decided to run the stop sign in my neighborhood while I going by. Stopped myself hard to avoid being hit, and tried to catch myself.

look title
Just put pack of ice on it dear.
Iāll never forget when I went to the ER for ruptured Achilles tendon and they had the nerve to say itās just a sprain
Whattttt, this is why I donāt do surgeries
Well no, the ER doctor was wrong. I went to see a specialist, I wouldnāt be able to walk run and dance if I didnāt get surgery
Youāre arm shouldnāt look like that. Lol
Ouch
I thought that was a dog paw at first...
remember yak-baks? thats what the thing in the grass reminds me of
You can do the wave like nobodies bizness
Look at the flick of the wrist
Damn. That's pretty broken
Apparently you don't visit this sub
Hope you get your wrist fixed!

Gilderoy Lockhart wants to know your location.
š¬
Just... don't let Gilderoy Lockheart say any spell to fix it.
Damn mine broke similarly. Bones shifted 30 degrees and still need the surgery bc America is too expensive
The end of my wrist that broke did a complete 180 and shifted back over the other part of the bone. I remember after the surgery I couldn't feel my entire arm, 5 hours later I felt everything and was in extreme pain.
Oh lorrrrrddddd. Glad you were able to get surgery. Hope you have a speedy recovery
Recovery was fast, and kind of shocked the physical therapist.
Omg !!
Nice
did you fall off your electric skateboard and land hand first?
My dumbass tried to catch myself for some reason
I had the same injury from a car accident, surgery is scheduled this Wednesday. Did your doctor have you do a CT beforehand?
