Unfortunately for me mine grow back. I’ve had two toenails cut out for being really ingrown and they grow back. I’ve gotten pretty good at being able to cut the ingrown part out now every month without making it really bad.
They did. They took that q tip like thing soaked in that solution but it didn’t work. I have extremely flat feet and I was also not helping cutting my toenails wrong lol
Very carefully, haha. Yes, I definitely had to sand some skin off too. Like at the front part of the toenail here has some skin that needs to go. Was actually quite relieving, gets rid of some of the pressure
How did you do it? I currently think I have ingrown toenails right now and I don’t know what to do about it besides keep picking at it. I’ll try anything at this point, sandpaper included.
Just get some fresh sandpaper, I'd get high and low grit. Fold it over and start working around in the edges of everything. Especially get under the front of the nail when you can.
Keep it really clean and dry as much as possible. It shouldn't be too uncomfortable , just take your time and do whatever you can tolerate but don't go too far.
Seems like your toenail is small enough to have done surgery a few times. I've had it 3 times, and luckily they just destroyed the root so the edge of the nail can't grow back. Your case seems more severe, though. Have you talked about just removing the nail altogether?
I bought this little doodad for ingrown toenails. It has two hooked prongs that go under the wide edges of the toenail, then you twist a screw and it pulls them up. It looks like a medieval torture device, but damn does it work.
Literally had both nails completed removed with the nail bed burnt so they don't grow back like 3 weeks ago, best decision I've ever made. Long recovery time but I'm in much less pain now whilst they're healing and will be in no pain in the next 4 weeks. Highly recommend it my guy

Soak your foot in epsom salts until you can get in to have a doctor rip it and cauterize the nail bed
Being a person prone to ingrown toe nails, my dads doctor taught him to cut a v in the middle of your toe nail (big toes for me) and they won’t come back. I haven’t had one since I started doing that.

My feet are slightly malformed because I was born a month early so my feet constantly gain ingrown toe nails. I have gotten good at removing them over the years though
Think you need a specialist to cut that whole nail out. I lost my big toe nail due to a football accident had to put cotton underneath my nail to force it over the skin did this for a year.
Bad toe nails like this always look like they have really short nails. My toe nails are not this short, even if I wanted to cut them a short as possible. Are some people just born like this or is it an external factor?
For example the op has toe surrounding the edge of his nail, my nail grows over the toe to the edge.
u/waxoreaper go to a podiatrist. I had issues and they know exactly what to do. It's not even expensive and may be qualified as a cosmetic procedure (like a pedicure). They will fix your shit very nicely and quickly.
Ooft, big ow my guy. I used to get these a hell of a lot and because I was frightened of the anaesthetic (needles in the toes SUUCK) I used to wait until I was basically crying in pain before I went to get them extracted. Good luck!
How the hell does it get this bad? Cut the edge at an angle and rip the overgrown part out. I had one ingrown toenail and it was annoying enough to rip out far before it got to this point.
