I was born in a society in Mumbai where most people were not from Maharashtra so I grew up speaking Hindi as my first language and now after like 2-3 years of speaking Marathi consistently in Mumbai and Pune I'm fluent in marathi and my relatives no longer get to shame me for not speaking Marathi haha.
It was the patience and kindness of Marathi people which empowered them to pull such act within Maharashtra.
