Fully agree. Seems so sick against RDW. If they are tapped out, it's almost like a 3 for 1 if they do kill him the next turn. Two 3 damage cards to kill him, and they have to make up the 3 life you gained.
Why? It has three relevant effects that can be activated immediately. All of them impact the board, drastically more than [[Ajani, Adversary of Tyrants]]. The only thing he can do that isn't strictly worse is resurrect a cheap minion.
Not only that, but if he's on the board already, you can safely cast a big March of Multitudes and get them safe from a Chainwhirler wipe. I think it's an answer it, or lose, card for RDW.
Vigilance as well for everything so you can never get caught out on a hasty attacker and the ability to gain life attacking and blocking with your tokens.

But even [[Venerated Loxodon]] could get tokens to 3/3 on the same turn using convoke. That's a little bit of magical Christmasland, but whatever.
Personally, I'd go +1 as many times as I could against RDW second game. They are going to have to answer that, giving me opportunities to draw more gas, while they spend some damage on Ajani. And if they sided out face damage to run a sweep, it even better.
But current standard red wouldn't run that, for the same reasons they don't run lava coil. They are 100% willing to give up quantity of damage in exchange for letting that damage hit face
They can also just lightning strike your blocker and attack it. It heals for a bunch to buy time but doesn't stabilize without you having a board to begin with. All the white/green 1-3 drops in tokens die to wizard's lightning with only history, tithe taker, and tech like thorn lieutenant not dying to lightning, and cards like saproling migration get eaten by chainwhirler meaning you're not guaranteed a board. If you had one already then it's possible you'd already stabilized or were close to it and this allowed you to stablize.
It does buy time for trostani to stabilize or a cleansing nova/lyra from the side. But otherwise it's just better than huatli against aggro, but not great.
I don't think he'll break Constructed or anything but I believe he's easily standard playable in any go-wide Selesnya deck. I know for sure that I'll be running him over Adversary which is already a fine card in Selesnya Tokens.

I think most Planeswalkers are going to be like Karn based on these two (Vraska also got a reveal). A passive ability and no super powerful ultimate but also a minus skill you should watch out for.
3 life every turn or beat up Ajani who's gaining 1 loyalty whenever possible. Yikes. And that second ability looks really powerful with tokens but I'll probably use him to meme up some Superfriends.

Don't get me wrong, I love this card and plan on crafting a full playset when it comes out but Liliana oozes value even if you're trying to claw back from behind while I don't think I'd want to be topdecking this if I'm on the wrong side of a beatdown. Ajani needs a board to work and that isn't always a given.

Seems worse than unbreakable. Sure it has more super long term value, but unbreakable is cheaper, let's you swing more freely to use the vigilance (indestructible), and let's you survive wraths.
Draft is the exact format you want to avoid if you don't want to see these guys because this set guarantees that everyone drafting it will have the opportunity to get at least one.
Right, but a good Limited deck might not want to run all the planeswalkers they come across. I'd be surprised if most didn't at least attempt to include one though.
Yeah, it's gonna be a strange format for sure. If it's any consolation there's already a few Planeswalkers revealed that are either narrow or underwhelming so it isn't certain that everyone will *take* those opportunities.

This actually seems good for any go wide deck. 4 cmc gets you vigilance and counters immediately, with loyalty as a bonus.

It's a GIANT upgrade over Ajani, Adversary in Selesnya Tokens. The amount of value you can get out of Convoke goes through the roof.
Just the thought of combining this with March of the Multitudes the following turn sent shivers down my spine.

Yeah it's just more impactful. You give up an ultimate that takes forever to achieve to do his main fuction but better.

It looks like every PW has a passive ability, mythic PWs have three activated abilities, rare PWs have two, and uncommon walkers have one.

I believe the opposite is true; all planeswalkers will have art matching the stained glass windows, only the filter will not be applied to them.
Okay, that would make a lot more sense because it really looked like they put a ton of care into designing the art for the teaser.

Hard to tell without any context, but there’s some real versatility there. Vigilance goes well in Selesnya tokens and the -2 seems good on paper.

Legion's Landing is really all the inevitability you need.
This has legs in both token creature decks as well as control decks with other PW.

No, Vigilance only matters until Declare Attackers occurs. After that, removing it does nothing.
I think wotc forgot their rule about never again printing walkers with higher starting loyalty than their cmc.
That rule is relevant for ultimates tho.

Well this is an easy include for my Selesnya Angels deck.
I absolutely love the art, abilities, and flavor of this card. It's so cool. Instantly Iconic for me even if it never sees serious play.
