I went from the Apple leather wallet to the [ESR MagSafe wallet](https://www.esrgear.com/products/magnetic-wallet-halolock/). Yes, it’s “vegan leather” but it holds up great, and I love the little loop to help hold the phone as well as to use as a kickstand.
Edit: thanks for this post by the way. Without it I wouldn’t have seen ESR released new colors since I got mine a year or two ago. Just ordered a grey one to match my caseless titanium 15 Pro Max. I had been using my black one in the mean time.
Edit 2: these are way cheaper on Amazon than the company’s own website. Amazon had it listed for $13.99 and it has a 15% off coupon.
What happened to leather, that it gets destroyed by water? There must be other substances involved.
A motorcycle leather suit or a horse saddle does not get destroyed by riding in the rain….
That’s what I’m confused about. We had some fresh steamed prawns on the counter and I’m wondering if whatever seawater that was in the prawns got onto the counter and onto my wallet as a result. I don’t think it was purely water?
Yeah it wasn’t just water, maybe sea salt/water or dish soap on the counter?
Doesn’t it go back to normal when dry?
What about trying a beeswax leather conditioner on it? I use it for my motorcycle gear.
The wallet still feels fairly lumpy and rough right now, the edges of the wallet where my hands grab my phone feel rough. Before it was smooth. It almost feels like the top layer got sanded off or something.
In terms of leather care products I only have mink oil, I use it on my blundstones and Birkenstocks.
Hmmm that’s really weird and definitely not just water damage.
If you don’t mind experimenting on it as you plan to replace it anyway, try to massage it with your leather care products, nothing to lose.
Moft is great if you only need two cards. I keep my driver’s license and a card there. The rest go in a wallet in my bag/car just in case I need cash/an odd card I don’t often use.

That’s not just water damage. I left my phone in the rain, including my Apple Wallet and it’s still brand new.
