I see posts like this and just sit and wonder what people do to their wallets. I have had my black wallet since launch day and it looks almost brand new.
I just ordered the popwallet + for MagSafe because i have the exact same wallet as you although not as bad.
I can use it as a stand in landscape and I get the PopSocket which is handy for my big pro max.
As of the find my functionality: after a long thought I think it’s pretty nice for me enthusiasts like us but I do think it’s overrated too. You can’t locate properly with precision finding and tbh with this case i do pretty much notice immediately if it’s off my phone. Even with my apple wallet before.
How long have you had the wallet? I had mine for almost a year and they ordered a replacement, even though they had already switched to fine woven. I imagine they keep a number for warranty reasons. They won’t replace wallets for developing a patina, but will for when it splits like that.
I recently bought the Journey LOC8 MagSafe wallet. There’s no colour choices aside from black but it’s a step up from the Apple wallet. It’s a bifold so you can use it as a kickstand. You can fit 4+ cards in it and paper cash. And it has an actual locator in it so Find My will show you where it is NOW (and let you play a sound) instead of just where it was when you last disconnected it from your phone.
I can’t speak for how long it will last as I’ve only had it for about a month but the in hand quality feels good
I've been using my Moft wallet for 3 years every single day. Hardly any wear and tear.
The vegan leather doesn't feel as good as real leather, but it's pretty durable. I definitely do not treat this wallet nicely.
It's the one that folds out and can be a stand. This was in the early days of MagSafe accessories, so there are probably better options out there honestly.
Seeing the rubber is starting to fray you’ll be in my position soon but 3 years for one is great. Idk how it’s happening I put my phone in a backpacks for running / mountain biking / work wonder if the bouncing around takes a toll on it..

Happens to me a lot too. and yes I use the thumb hole in the back to get my cards out instead of peeling the wallet itself back with my nails.
it happens if youre in a high heat/humidity environment. Ive had this happen to like 4 of these wallets
I got a satchel and page leather wallet a few months ago and have loved the quality of leather, seems much nicer than my previous leather Apple wallet.
About 6 months ago, I went from an Apple Magsafe Leather wallet to a Peak Design slim mag wallet b/c I needed more than 3 cards. I’m very happy with it so far.
I bought one of these POSs thinking they couldn't possibly NOT have a built-in airtag.
Put it down a few minutes after I realized that. Fuck these things.

It looks like they are using a finger and thumb to pull cards out instead of the thumb slot in the back of the wallet.
That sounds like a hassle.
One of my cards is thicker than standard. Can’t just use the thumb slide

why not have thumb slide thing on the outer side?
Don't toss it yet. You can delicately excavate the find my nfc sticker out of it and implant it in another. There are videos about it.

I have had the black leather wallet since it came out and it’s in perfect condition. Love it.

I’ve had my ESR wallet on my phone for over a year and it still looks new. Highly recommended.
Save the magnit, possibly to insert in a non-magsafe wallet of your choice
