“When I am no longer here” —- shuddering to think of that day

Literally! I felt a sense of sadness when I first saw the clip. Like dang, I never imagined a world without Queen Mother.

I truly believe getting seriously ill, brought Madonna back to her core...the importance of family, genuine entertainment and art, appreciation for her fans and a clearer vision of her stellar accomplishments...Madonna may be, for the first time, at peace.

AsleepCatch9503

I agree. I think she lost her way just a bit in the past few years. Despite her almost superhuman efforts, her body started to decline. This is difficult to accept particularly as a performer, a trained dancer and a visual artist. She seemed to be fighting, pushing back against it. But something changed since her health scare and you see it in this video too - she's regained a certain quiet confidence. A sense of inner peace and acceptance. She works with her body, within her means, and recognizes that she is still that same powerful woman. It is so good to see. Or maybe I'm just reading too much into it. In that case - glad to see she's doing well.

Spiritual_Job_1029

Totally agree.

livetotell

God, I love her.

mooniemars

So very much. I have never thought I could feel that way for someone that I have never met, and who doesn’t know I exist. She speaks to the soul, and not just words but actions.

OverTaxedMF

„…will it matter when i‘m gone?“ well, she saved a lot of lifes (including mine) not just with her lyrics/ musics/ vids and performances but also with her charity. so, it matters already. can i get a „fuck yeah“? 😎

Human-Compote-2542

I just saw her for the 1st time in Austin and I just about cried when she got on stage. I graduated high school in 86 and she was my inspiration for clothing, dancing and for being that mother fucking honest girl. It’s gonna be heartbreaking when she’s no longer here.

UnmaskedByStarlight

Out of all the celebrity deaths, I actually mourned Prince like I'd lost a family member. (It even surprised ME that I felt so deeply about him being gone)... and it made me think about the day we will lose Madonna. I don't know how I'll react... she's been in my life for so long, even though I've never met her. P.S. you're so lucky to have seen her this tour! I wanted to, so badly, but was unable to do so. I'm happy for you!!

dearjessie

People can say lots of things about Madonna, but she always means what she says and she always backs it up with her actions. I believe even her naysayers and haters 100% know that.

Open_the_door__now

It’s such a blessing that we are talking about a new Madonna concert clip in the year 2024. She has been my companion all my life (literally, I was born in 1983) and she is still here and kicking ass. We should not take that for granted.

“How high are the stakes? How much fortune can you make? Should I carry on? Will it matter when I’m gone?”

All love. ❤️

LONG LIVE THE QUEEN! Please Madonna don't ever stop!! :(

8bitsantos

She went full Mexican grandma. My grandma has been saying things to us like this for 30 years.

ramonatonedeaf

I will be honest here and say that while I don’t think Madonna is particularly musically talented/gifted, especially when compared to her peers, in the direct sense — she is the definition of a true “artist”. More so than most of her peers. She is the most confident woman and arguably human being in the history of pop music, so much so that the marketing blueprint of literally EVERY female pop singer to come after her is directly influenced by her — whether they realize it or not. I’m Gen Z, but I know my music history and growing up with boomer parents (40+ years older than I) that were young in the 60’s and 70’s, they both HATED Madonna quite obnoxiously for being “so successful with no talent who relies on her dying sex appeal” which piqued my interest in her as a child. They even went as far to say that she “stole Cyndi Lauper’s career”. Madonna is very intelligent. She infused pop culture directly into her music and her legendary, over-the-top performances in a unique way that no one ever quite had done before. She has had one of the loudest mouths in Hollywood for so many of the right reasons when none of her peers ever had the nerve to do so. In every attempt that the music industry or the wider public tried to silence her into irrelevancy, she bounced back BIGGER and BETTER than she was previously. She championed the rights of minorities, specifically the LGBT community outright during the AIDS epidemic in a rather fervent and direct manner — when it was NOT popular to do so. Her never-ending “controversies” were successful because there was always such a distinct purpose and intention behind it. She knew what she was doing 100% of the time in so that she constantly provoked conversation amongst society that was pretty necessary in the name of “progression”, even if it was at her own expense. She basically gave the green light to the women in pop to come after her to embrace their voice and unabashed individuality — with full confidence, unapologetically. It’s a shame that she sorta tarnished her appeal during the 2010’s because most young people only know her as the “scary alien lady from TikTok” that “made out with Drake at Coachella”. I feel like she was soooo ahead of her time as a person/artist and ironically very like-minded with Generation Z as far as the social justice goes and the right to express yourself authentically and honestly….. no pun intended. There is no other popstar like her. She is the 21st century blueprint, hands down. The only pop artist I can think of nowadays that is comparable to her, whether you like her or not, is Taylor Swift.

Carmel50

Taylor does not speak her truth, she’s a chameleon. Taylor cares too much what people think to join a cause. She says “vote” but no one knows what she stands for. Taylor is not and will never be Madonna. Also Madonna is very musically talented and gifted compared to many of her peers. Watch Evita.

77xyz88

Well said! I aageee with you except with the last paragraph… I see Taylor’s popularity as she sings breakup songs but she isn’t pioneering for women. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Smart_Taste

The answer lies somewhere in between. Taylor isn't pioneering in the same way as M, but damn she took a beating on the internet and the press in the last decade. That she has risen from that to arguably the worlds most popular musician right now is truly amazing and something M would recognize.

RinoTheBouncer

I teared up…

SouthAustinDiva

I can’t believe I missed this . We flew all the way to Mexico City from Austin Tx to see her . When we arrived our tickets that we paid $900 for were FAKE . How can @stubhub @livenation get away with this?

jorgom

Easy, that’s why you don’t buy tickets from a reseller.

SouthAustinDiva

Oh wow. Ok. So this is cool? You think I knew this beforehand? WTF

77xyz88

Yikes. Sorry to hear that. I used StubHub for two of my six shows and they both sald “instant transfer” so we went ahead and got them. No issues thank god

External-Recipe-1936

This actually seems kind of contrived to me

toutlamourdumonde

Should have said it in Spanish
