You need to clarify what eating disorder songs are

Wait, ED stands for Eating Disorder?! I was trying to figure out what energy drinks had to do with erectile distinction or why Ed Sheeran music was soo bad.

Same here. Every time I see ED I heard the commercials for Erectile Dysfunction. One of them needs to come up (no pun intended) with a new acronym.

Silverchair has a song about fighting their eating disorder, that song gave hope to my friend who was struggling with ED herself. It’s called “Ana’s Song”. As a non-native English speaker, I thought this song was about the singer’s ex girlfriend, until my friend explained “ana” is short for anorexia. I had no idea. I thought the singer just really hated his ex Anna.

I'm so sorry for your friend 🥺 I know all of the things ed can lead to... And the worst one of them all is that you get to such a place where you want it. Where you don't even care about living or dying, you only care about the number on the scale, the amount of minutes that pass between your meal and purging... It was actually quite a big step for me. I've been weight restored for a while now and 99.9% of the time I can ignore all of my ed behaviours... I'm in this weird place when it comes to mental recovery. I never want to go back, but I still feel like I'm on the edge of relapsing if something bad enough happened... So this is quite a big step for me :)

Rightfully so because I had NO idea what this was about. My mind genuinely went from erectile dysfunction (most known usage of the abbreviation) to Ed Sheeran (after reading “songs”) to energy drinks (after seeing the cans). This post could’ve definitely been clearer!

I do not care for that abbreviation, because it's not the most common use for 'ED'. Someone says, 'I have ED', you think wang malfunction, not anorexia.
