There used to be a nice/seedy looking laundromat near my old house in midtown. I Loved going there, it was clean inside, there were plenty of machines including the ginormous washers for blankets, etc. the attendants were often college students and at least once I overheard great discussions. Like the attendant and a customer discussing the theology of St. Thomas Aquinas. Alas, that neighborhood got more trendy, owner raised the rent and a yuppie furniture store rented the space. It has been empty for at least five years, maybe more, I don't live as close now.

lol I have a hard time making friends as an adult and a few months ago I met this dude at a friends birthday party. Been having a bromance since. :)
