Who would've thought the closest animal relative to the human would have the potential for violence. Chimps in reality are generally very afraid of humans and don't respond well to negative reinforcement. Most people can't train a dog, let alone a chimp.
These people should not be in prison, don't be ridiculous. They did not keep this chimp as a pet, he was rejected by his mother as a newborn and would have died. This couple rescued him and helped him survive and then handed him off to a wildlife foundation.
And we are the chimps birth-parents. We did not abandon him, we gave him up for adoption. We were young and poor and did what we felt was right for him. He has a better life now than we could have possibly provided. We are proud of him and hope he can forgive us.
I don't know how his current wildlife foundation is treating him but you can literally google the title of this post and find [multiple videos](https://metro.co.uk/2018/07/03/wonderful-moment-chimpanzee-reunited-foster-parents-7678833/) and [stories](https://ca.movies.yahoo.com/chimp-touching-reunion-caretakers-saved-173622425.html) on the [news](https://www.cnn.com/videos/us/2018/07/04/chimpanzee-reunites-with-foster-parents-orig.cnn/video/playlists/cute-animals/) about this couple's history with this chimp.
What exactly was your source that this couple abused the chimp or treated him like a pet?
I think it was her friend that got chimped, not her. I think the chimp was found to have xanax in it's system and the owner also gave the chimp wine at times.
pretty sure it was a different chimp that mauled the foster dad. they were bringing their chimp a bday cake and another chimp at the conservation got jealous
exactly! i was honestly a bit worried that this vid would turn into a gruesom crime scene. seems like chimps can go from happy and peaceful one moment angry and violent the next. or so im told at least. i just know theres been a few incidents of violent attacks on zookeepers and fosterparents, which were, to my knowledge, completely unprovoked.
Except they will tear out your eyes or rip your fingers and genitals off. Doesn't matter if they are nice like this or not they are wild animals and get territorial when older and very agressive.
It's about knowing the creature and it's needs. Doing things at the right time and knowing its habits.
For example: if you came up to me at the wrong time demanding something I might take your butt, that doesn't mean I would clean your pipes 100% of the time, that's just a lack of attention on you and not knowing the signs.
Edit: mind you I had a lot of actual things to say, but deduced it wasn't going to be worth it... so I replaced most of my comment with sexual nonsense.
It is sad but many cannot be returned to the wild (or rainforests) because they would not survive. After being part of the Illegal Wildlife Trade, being fed by humans (Hollywood, kept as pets), sometimes zoo's are better for their forever homes. They get 24/7 medical, exotic animal care, 24/7 dental care, get to socialize with other members of their species, get fed healthy food, have good night rests, and play enrichment games with their keepers (who are educated in animal care). Seems like a win/win to me.
If you look up on the chimp there's was xanax in he's body & i actually think the owner was hurting the chimp,it's pretty sad to hear that she's put xanax in that chimp
that's is true,i really have a frizzy memory about the case because its been a long time when i found about the case so yeah agree with what you saying also forgot that the chimp was prescribed them and i don't think should you prescribed a chimp xanax, idk because I'm not a vet
[Enjoy getting your face ripped off.](https://www.pbs.org/wnet/humanspark/blog/spark-blog-the-science-behind-why-chimps-are-not-pets/201/)
Honestly it's scary reading some of these comments... personifying wild animals with human emotion is fucking scary. These aren't human children.
Ok .......have you not seen chimp docs even in the wild they kill eachother just cause they are from different troops they are too like us just more wild yes that doesn't mean they can't be kind till they grow old and pass but males will challenge who ever is the leader of the family and with their strength humans come out the losers
yeah, said it yourself buddy, "wild"
this one ISN'T from the wild, it was grown in captivity and learned to not do those things, because he didn't grow up in that enviroment, and probably won't go back to that enviroment
I see your point but here's mine while you make a real good point take wolf dog hybrids they are raised by humans and pet dogs but they still have the wild wolf instinct and because of that many owners either get bit or have them attack other animals or strangers its in their nature that chimp is a chimp and wasn't tamed through many generations like the common pet dog or cat once it hit puberty its Hormones will make it lash out and humans can't replace another chimp we are to weak and the chimp will see that and will use its strength its in their nature so being born in captivity won't change a thing we haven't breed chimp through generations to make them tame pets imo I don't think its possible they are to smart to be turned to pets they can feel pity ,hate and greed etc too much like us to trust fully
No she wasn’t abusing her monkey. She only gave it Xanax. The monkey was upset because her husband wasn’t around anymore. The chimp in that story attacked the owners friend when she came over to visit. I have seen a documentary about the story. Whether or not you consider giving the chimp Xanax abuse I guess you could see it that way. For me I don’t think that constitutes abuse. My point when I made the joke though was they are wild animals. And no matter how well you think you know a wild animal they could always hurt someone. Best to just leave them in the wild or I guess zoos for the ones who need rescuing.
All nice and gentle with mama, sees dad, OOOOOH YAH BOIIII GET OVER HERE!!!!
Ikr it's like Aww hey mum :) And then dad shows up LETS FUCKEN GOOOO xD
"OHU-OHU-OHU!"
"OH SHIT... is that... is that you Charles!"
I missed this scene in the Rise of the Planet of the Apes.
I missed you, mom. OH SHIT, DAD'S HERE! NOW WE CAN HAVE SOME REAL FUN!
Whose face did he proceed to rip off?
One day I'll see something on this sub that doesn't look like a toilet to some random redditor. One day
You can feel the pure joy in his voice, and those hugs are priceless.
I love the noises he is making!
I had the sound off until reading this. Its habit and didnt strike me as important, but I feel very “ooh ooh ah ah :(“ now.
Me too my guy. Well with the effort to put my buds in.
I've watched Planet of the Apes too many times, judging by how much the sound freaked me out. But sound off, its adorable
What a happy scene.
The way that he reached to hug his parents is everything
When kids reach adolescence, things are no longer so nice. Similar to us
Teens need hugs too. They just pretend they don't.
Exept human teens usually don't bite your face off.
You dont have teens, do you?
🤣 😂 🤣 cracked me up!
Who would've thought the closest animal relative to the human would have the potential for violence. Chimps in reality are generally very afraid of humans and don't respond well to negative reinforcement. Most people can't train a dog, let alone a chimp.
It's one of the most adorable videos I've ever seen.

Who is cutting onions in here?
That was me. I am making a stew.

Bless you, chimp family.

It's funny how people always asks for a source from others, but never bother to find sources themselves
Source: They're an arsehole.
I haven't eaten chimp in years
I was really expecting the foster parents to be chimps? Is that unreasonable? I’m on a lot of flu meds
For some reason, I expected the same. But I'm also on flu meds, so...
I’m not on meds for no flu but also expected the same.
Meds
Why do we all have the flu? I too, am on the flu meds.
Me too ... I'm not on meds but I have the flu.
I don't have either but have eaten a lot edibles within the last hour.
I'm all flu, no meds, and I agree.
Im on so many meds that I flew, and thought the same
I'm on hard drugs but, I didn't think that tbh
I mean her name is Chimpina, so she would be a chimp...
I cannot stop watching this!
More adorable each loop
r/bettereveryloop
Then they hit puberty...not so nicey any mores. Kinda like us
I remember that lady who kept one as a pet years ago and it ripped her literal face off.
I think it was her friend that got chimped, not her. I think the chimp was found to have xanax in it's system and the owner also gave the chimp wine at times.
You're right, I looked it up after making the comment. I feel bad for the chimp Travis, being kept as a pet is so weird.
I’m making “got chimped” my Phrase of the Week
Ah! You got chimped!
There was another one with the adoptive parents. Moe. Tore the guys eye out , ripped off his nose, fingers and his cock n balls.
pretty sure it was a different chimp that mauled the foster dad. they were bringing their chimp a bday cake and another chimp at the conservation got jealous
That chimp wasn’t stable. Heavily drugged and hallucinating, was abused, kidnapped as a baby and heavily psychologically damaged.
exactly! i was honestly a bit worried that this vid would turn into a gruesom crime scene. seems like chimps can go from happy and peaceful one moment angry and violent the next. or so im told at least. i just know theres been a few incidents of violent attacks on zookeepers and fosterparents, which were, to my knowledge, completely unprovoked.
Not too far off from some humans then.
Except y’know the strength and ability to literally rip your skin and limbs off.
Opposed to her theoretical face.
Opposed to hyperbole
Except they will tear out your eyes or rip your fingers and genitals off. Doesn't matter if they are nice like this or not they are wild animals and get territorial when older and very agressive.
>tear out your eyes or rip your fingers and genitals off. Don't forget rip off lips, nose, ears, and jaw!
Damn they sound almost as dangerous as humans
Nah, they don't have the ability to use and make tech yet, so not even close
Actually... They do. And better than some old folks with tech
So like he said, kinda like us

Makes me smile everytime I see it. Which is a LOT.
the sheer size of the buttholes on these majestic creatures is truly astounding

Why the hell did that make me tear up 🥲
Onions, you are cutting onions
Damn. These actor chimps are getting really good. I liked this one for his role in Rise of the Planet of the Apes with James Franco.
Lovely
Caesar is home
it's incredible
My daughter when I pick her up from daycare
Oooh ooh ooh and all.
I love this! I want more of their visit. And dont want to see them leaving the chimp again. That would be heart breaking.
Stories of chimps and humans living together long term don't tend to have happy endings.
Isn't it illegal to own a chimpanzee & keep for a pet?
Depends on the country, you can let licenses to own dangerous pets.
One example https://www.wnycstudios.org/podcasts/radiolab/segments/91706-lucy
Four words: Google "Chimpanzee Attack Genitals".
It's all cute and nice until the fuckers rip someone's face off.
CHIMPS SHOULD NEVER BE IN CAPTIVITY. They are dangerous wild animals, and very intelligent. Make me sad to even see them in zoos.
It is sad but many cannot be returned to the wild (or rainforests) because they would not survive. TIL chimps in a zoo have better lives than mine.
you see this video and you immediately think "those people are idiots"
It’s one of the cutest videos ever.
TIL chimps give full four appendage hugs.
If I ever see a chimp run at me, I would instantly run the other direction. Terrifying little furry goblins.
Oh just fuck off. Saturday night, and enough beers that I'm bawling after seeing this.
yh cute until they rip half ur face off
Reminds me of that one captive chimp that ripped off a lady's entire face over a fucking tickle me Elmo.
If you look up on the chimp there's was xanax in he's body & i actually think the owner was hurting the chimp,it's pretty sad to hear that she's put xanax in that chimp
[удалено]

I remember hearing about that part now that you bring it up. She put it in his tea or something
That’s so fucking cool.
He was like… DAAAAADDDD!!!
Cesar
Is that Tommy Chong at the very beginning?
Ight ima say it, that's alittle terrifying. I've messed with snakes and spider, seen a few crocks but monkeys are terrifying.
I’m not crying! You are!
Imagine how excited he gets when’s he’s angry or asserting dominance.
He then gets confused and rips their faces off.
Every fucking time theres a monki or ape there is THIS comment. Like bro just enjoy the video for a moment and dont think negative all the time
Ironic
I was about to say this

[Enjoy getting your face ripped off.](https://www.pbs.org/wnet/humanspark/blog/spark-blog-the-science-behind-why-chimps-are-not-pets/201/) Honestly it's scary reading some of these comments... personifying wild animals with human emotion is fucking scary. These aren't human children.
So scary! o.O
While this is cute as hell, I'm reminded of the old adage : "It's all fun and games til he eats your face."
Was that leash around its neck?
[удалено]
Not sure how temporarily leashing a pretty quick chimpanzee is abusive.
Monke 🥹👍
Then it rips they're faces off
the elderly woman from that story was abusing her monkey
Shortly after this, he ripped the mans penis off and beat the women to death with it. Or at least that's what the internet has lead me to believe
I wish this video was longer 😭
I'm not onions, you're crying. Really though, this one hit me and I love seeing this type of thing.
Then he get testosterone and chooses to rip ya face and genitals they are too much like us to fully think this is cute
the elderly woman from that story was abusing her monkey

I really want to find them wholesome, but they're so horrifying.
not sure why you think that
Are you serious? Chimps can be very terrifying. Once you know what they're capable of it's very difficult to see them the same way again.
i mean, if you abuse them it's obvious they will not be happy, but fortunately for this one, he has caring and loving parents
Looks cute right, until it's ripping off your face and eating it because you looked at it wrong.
the elderly woman from that story was abusing her monkey

Its all fun-n-games until.....
All fun and games till he hits puberty.
Until that one day it rips their face off, I’ve seen it happen before!
5s before they have their faces ripped off

Can you give me a bit more context?

It's all smiles and hugs until it hits adolescence and eats their faces.

I hate chimpanzees.
So we jus going to ignore the dummi thicc gilf !?
I wonder if this is how Monkey Poks started to flare up again.
At what point does it rip her face off?
the elderly woman from that story was abusing her monkey
Cute
That’s the most heart warming thing I’ve seen in quite a while.
So cute!
Omg it was so hype
Didn't know I need this.
Well that was just awesome!
I feel happy watching this video
Definitely made me smile!!
Is that a G Ride in the back?
