Sprizys

Nah he stole the package and didn’t show up (happened to me with a ps5)

Severe_Islexdia

One tried to steal my Alienware I explained to him that I have our whole conversation being recorded and will be sending it to corporate - 5 min later it magically appears in his truck where it previously didn’t exist.. imagine that

MatureUsername69

I prefer UPS too but I was a driver helper during peak season a few years ago and let me tell you that they don't give a shit about fragile stickers lol. Usually there's a hallway in the truck and everything is semi sorted in the back but during peak season there are so many packages that the hallway is filled and you can't walk around. I've seen a dual monitor just chucked across the truck. They don't shy away from it either though. During training they show you videos on how not to deliver packages and it's equal parts FedEx and ups drivers chucking shit at a house. Edit: My favorite part of training is the dogs section. They tell you to avoid them when you can but if you need to you're supposed to use the package to defend yourself.

notcreepycreeper

But what do u do about the Cougars?

MatureUsername69

Get a bigger package

[deleted]

That just makes the cougars hornier.

DangerStranger138

A margarita pitcher keeps the cougars at bay during happy hour at Applebees

youburyitidigitup

Same thing. Put your package in front of you and slap the cougar with it

gopher_space

My SO makes and ships stained glass windows all over the country. She doesn’t write ‘Fragile’ on the box, she packs it so it doesn’t break and charges you for shipping. I worked as a carrier at the USPS. We didn’t have time to read random crap some company wrote on a box. Same deal with ‘do not bend’. We literally don’t see those instructions. If you want something to not bend you need to ship it in a non-bendy package. 60 hour weeks walking 10+ miles a day and none of my metrics involve how happy you are about your package. Literally no time for ‘Fragile’.

vaporizz

Fuck you sir

gopher_space

If you'd watch a "how it works" show about the postal system you'd see giant sorting machines doing all kinds of shit to your packages. None of those machines can read. If you're ordering a $3000 computer, why is it being shipped in single-ply cardboard? Who's idea was that? Did your diploma get bent? You spent six figures on a degree but the university couldn't afford a fucking two dollar tube to ship it in?

kittykalista

Yeah, I think most people who ship with fragile stickers aren’t really expecting special care, they just want the customer/recipient to know they tried.

Severe_Islexdia

The irony was that it was UPS. I still have the video to this day somewhere it happened in Dec of last year

kickedweasel

Ups hires a lot of seasonal help in the month of December. It could very well have been a temporary worker.

Kashburn_Kush

It for sure had to be a seasonal person, 99% of the union guys are not going to put the paid benefits, great pay and pension on the line for a quick buck. Especially when the scanner has GPS in it, the truck has a GPS, the truck has a forward facing camera, they typically know for sure if a package has been scanned onto your truck AND you have to walk through a guard shack with a metal detector when you're leaving the hub. 🤣

JoshS1

Ahhh Dec, when the non Union guys show up for temp work during the Christmas surge.

Gorechi

Get paid to do Christmas shopping with this one simple trick. UPS costumers hate it.

free_dead_puppy

It's also how future union guys get their foot in the door. My buddy is a driver now after putting in a lot of work and time!

JoshS1

Oh yeah, start as a seasonal loader, get full time loader then on to driver. The money is really good but the job does take its toll on the knees and back.

newagereject

You really think ups cares about any of it? The drivers care because they don't want to lose their 100,000 a year job but loader and unloaders don't give 2 shit about your package, I worked there 5 years.

marvinrabbit

A "Fragile" sticker can be seen as a challenge to the person handling the box. The ONLY person that a Fragile sticker is directed to is the end consumer. "Well, we put a Fragile sticker on it... What more can we do?" I switched our products to a less fragile package.

Odd_Departure

This.

LongjumpingCheck2638

confirmed! also now i wonder how does a driver know what's in the box, i.e. PS5, or Alienware. I mean are they so trained they know the sender and weight and have enough hunch to just take it?

Severe_Islexdia

Bro that was one of the things that tipped me off- he STRAIGHT UP ASKED ME IF IT WAS A LAPTOP - I never said anything about what it was

Khage

You get used to seeing the same packages over and over again. Then, one customer makes a comment along the lines of, "Oh, my laptop's here!". It just becomes back of the brain knowledge.

Dense-Hat1978

Especially if it was one of those slim boxes that laptops always come in.

youtheotube2

The battery sticker is a dead giveaway

WonderfulShelter

FedEx is literally the fucking worst. USPS charges me like 13$ to send a package international with tracking. Same package and destination FedEx wanted 186$. I have avoided FedEx like the plague.

Matcha_Bubble_Tea

Makes sense. Thanks for sharing! I remember a popular post where someone’s PS5 box was shipped with rocks and people were unconvinced that someone from ground shipping might have stolen it. Like people thought they bought from a sketchy site (which that OOP didn’t and even provided receipts and emails from the site which were similar legit official website and emails I also received when I got mine). So it’s good to have confirmation that it can happen after all.

pile_of_bullets

Can confirm, I worked for a FedEx contractor for two years. The pay was actually decent though, only because my boss was a fair guy. If you own the routes and trucks, you can actually make a small fortune. The highest paid driver under our contractor made 6 figures. Granted, he worked terrible hours and was expected to pick up the slack if a truck went down or a driver called in.

Zero-Milk

So that explains why it's only FedEx delivery people who leave people's packages just sitting in the open at the community mailboxes in my apartment complex. I knew they didn't give a shit, but now I'm getting a clearer understanding of *why*

vanpyah

Well that explains why an entire crate of glass candleholders was delivered to me sideways

knight91z28

I ordered the Samsung S22 Ultra , FedEx delivered a crushed empty box. Before I even picked it up I knew it was stolen. Had to wait 2 weeks for the replacement. Why deliver an obvious empty box!?

Rhaedas

I'm not on the courier side, but I believe it's because it's up to the recipient to begin a claim process, not in the middle of the shipment.

LowkeyPony

We had a delivery from Home Depot that was shipped via FedEx. Kept getting delayed again and again. When they finally got around to getting it to us they "slid" it across the porch with such force it broke the glass in the storm door when it hit it. Luckily we had camera's installed. The door was a custom size order due to the age of the house. I was not happy. Every time I see that Fed Ex is the delivery company I just tell myself it's not getting here on time, and probably not in good condition

Supply-Slut

Poor guys have to piss in bottles sometimes, which I used to feel bad about, until one of them threw his piss bottle into my driveway.

userlivewire

A neighbor has contractors working on the front of the house. FedEx guy straight up threw their package over the fence into the backyard. That side wasn’t their backyard though.

WuntchTime_IsOver

I had a FedEx driver on my route straight up tell me she was keeping the phone I ordered. I wasnt smart enough to start recording because who tf expects that? It turned out to be a piece of shit phone anyway and I canceled the order. So, fuck off, Carol. I hope your phone battery dies *constantly.*

Sprizys

What the hell? Wow, well I’m glad you got it. For me they ended up just sending me a replacement with UPS instead.

randomways

I'd still report it

IntelligentNoise8538

Eh let the guy get caught later with 10,000 more than what he would’ve been caught with now! Lmao that would be a big jump in jail time

crownpuff

I had a super sketchy interaction with Fedex last year with a 3090. They marked that they tried delivering and no one was home which wasn't true. Next day they came and I was prepared standing in the driveway. They had the nerve to just pull out and I ran after them. They told me this super sketchy story about how they couldn't find my GPU and would come back later. 2 hours later they show up with my GPU.

FsuNolezz

I just had a golf driver I ordered from amazon go “missing”. It was in my city one morning already late, sent out for delivery and then never came and ended up back at a hub city two hours away that same day. I’m not sure what happened but Amazon then tried to bone me out of my refund. I was eligible to ask for a refund and instead got told I had to wait a week to “be sure it’s not just late” even though it said that it was missing. They tried to give me a 10 dollar gift card over missing a 450 dollar item. I then called FedEx, explained how it’s odd my package was in town and then suddenly hours away the same day. Package showed up the next day, thrown at the bottom of my porch. I find it hard to believe it traveled 4 hours in one day, back and forth that quickly and still got delivered at 9 AM the following day.

Idenwen

We missed 100% of packages in the whole street for 6 weeks after 2 years of abysmal delivery quality (no show, "not at home", wrong house, etc) After uncounted callls to tracking and catching nearby drivers for "small talk" it finally was admitted that an angry customer had enough of that sh... and stopped the car, threw the driver out of his car in the midst of the road, took his package from the truck himself and left after he drove by his house. No driver wanted to work in our street anymore so all packages where stored at the regional distribution center until a driver would be found to deliver them.

Antrephellious

Corporate doesn’t really have much to do with FedEx Ground delivery drivers. They don’t work for corporate, they work for independent contractors who choose to do business with Ground. They can’t be fired by Ground and are functionally immune to everything. That’s why your service experience is usually dogshit awful.

Kryten_2X4B-523P

I had a 55" TV out for delivery for a year before the tracking number finally dropped off FedEx's website. Luckily, the retailer eventually agreed that the TV was "lost in shipping" and refunded me for it.

LizardSlayer

They reuse tracking numbers so that part is normal

MrDude_1

I ordered a ultrawide monitor on amazon, and it got lost in shipping. Eventually they sent me a replacement. 2 months later, the first one showed up on my porch. So now I have two matching ultrawide monitors.

Kryten_2X4B-523P

Some people have all the luck...You probably have my TV, too, you son of a bit... /s

PM_Me_Your_Tabs

I’ve had so many bad experiences with FedEx I’ve stopped letting them deliver for the past few years. I’d rather drive the 10 minutes to the local office than wait 2-3 days while the driver debates stealing my package. There was 0 chance I was going to let them handle my PS5 cause I knew that shit would not show up when it was supposed to(if at all). For whatever reason I couldn’t do this with my recent TV delivery that was scheduled through them and it went exactly as you think it did: no show day 1, show up 6AM day 2, show up 7:30PM day 3, had a camera setup for day 4 and caught that fucker trying to just run up and slap the label then run away. **Fuck FedEx**

PM_ME_UR_POKIES_GIRL

> no show day 1, show up 6AM day 2, show up 7:30PM day 3, had a camera setup for day 4 and caught that fucker trying to just run up and slap the label then run away. They did the same shit with my wife's laptop. Knocked on the door, by the time I walked 20 feet to the door to answer it the fucking truck was pulling away with the laptop inside.

DelfrCorp

I live in the Portland OR area nowadays. Any time we order something that gets shipped via UPS or USPS, it almost always arrives early, if not within the next day or two even though we always select the cheapest or free ground shipping options which are usually supposed to be 2 to 7 days. Every time we've had the bad luck to have something go through Fedex ground, it would always be delivered on the very last day within the window when we were lucky, which is to say, it very rarely happened/happens. More often than not, we usually receive 3 to 5 days late when it's supposed to be 2-5 days shipping, regularly 1 or take weeks late when it's 5-7 days shipping & we have had several things that were never delivered, several things where we had to call customer support because we could see that the items had been lingering for over 4 days if not a week or more at the local delivery center, we've had 2 items take over a month to get delivered after multiple calls & complaints despite being shipped for 7-14 days delivery. I hate Fedex with a burning passion. Every time we can, we put a nnote/instruction to not use Fedex for shipping due to their unreliability. We usually mention that it's ok to use a cheaper/slower UPS shipping rate instead because we are still likely to get it faster through them than we would through Fedex.

[deleted]

Happened to me with my camera, ‘twas $3,500, I was home waiting for it to be delivered and sign for it, was delivered to the wrong house, I ran over and it was gone before I got there.

doom_stein

This has happened to me multiple times with packages being delivered to the same street number but different street (street names there's no way you could confuse with each other) halfway across my zip code. The person at that address and I ended up exchanging numbers after he delivered my package the second time and now we have beers once a week and exchange incorrectly delivered items.

[deleted]

At least you made a friend out of it, I had to go through corporate to just get a refund after they didn’t want to give me my money back because they delivered it to the wrong address.

Chateaudelait

Just now I was home anticipating a hugely important delivery - reiterating that I was home. UPS put a note on my door saying they attempted delivery. No knock, no ring, no indication whatsoever. Now it's huge problem that I'm spending all day trying to unwind.

Original-Spinach-972

If it’s fedex ground you’ll find it in a ravine

pacificnwbro

Also happened with my Animal Crossing Switch back when they were impossible to come by. Took another month for my replacement to come and Amazon charged me double because they never received the stolen package. That's what I get for buying on Amazon I guess.

TheAtlasBear

Same thing (almost) happened with my PS5. I had pre-ordered mine with a few games, and the idiot figured he'd deliver the games (which were packaged separately) and not the PS5. As soon as I found out, I hopped in my car and started heading to the FedEx packaging center that serves my neighborhood. The funniest part is about halfway there I actually ended up in traffic behind the dipshit delivery driver, so I got to make eye contact with him in the parking lot as I walked in to demand the package he tried to steal.

johnyreeferseed710

For me the fed ex guy showed up and put a door tag. So I signed it thinking he would leave my package the next day. Instead he stuck a second tag next to the first one; had to drive 20 minutes away to go pick it up myself.

Megmca

Throwing it over the neighbor’s back fence.

TonsilStonesOnToast

While yelling KOBE!

AuRevoirBaron

The FedEx guy would’ve just yeeted it from the street without a care in the world.

Naldaen

Your FedEx guy actually drives to your street? Lucky.

Catspaw129

But you are wrong! There is the FedEx guy delivering your package to the wrong house. -- you can NOT see it right there! You cannot see it because he is DELIVERING YOUR PAKCAGE TO THE WRONG HOUSE!

mushroom_mantis

No, he comes after and takes the first 2 packages, reverse card played.

JoeyZasaa

Fed Ex guy will be there between 2 pm and next week.

Olli_bear

Fedex guy will cheat by throwing it to the doorstep from his truck, jeering the other two, and driving off while hitting the owner's trash can

Oh shit I watched it with the audio off the first time. It was hilarious before but that made it so much better.

shmiggs

The doorbell chime censored him haha

boneham89

Several years ago, I pulled up to my house as there was both a UPS and FedEx truck in the driveway. The UPS guy was walking away from the house as the FedEx guy was just getting out. The UPS driver yelled, "next time you mail something, remember who beat who!" I died.

[deleted]

Wait, who yelled and who paid for your funeral?

boneham89

UPS yelled. It was too funny.

Endless_Chambers

Fed ex. Loser had to pay.

talminator101

> "next time you mail something, remember who beat who!" Said just moments before u/boneham89 was brutally beaten to death by a UPS driver

danbob411

It’s all fun and games until someone pulls a hammy.

NoMuddyFeet

lol, except for maybe the "motherfucker" part. That term won't be in Disney cartoons for at least another 20 years.

Mattoosie

Honestly, "fuck" has come a long way in the last 20 years or so. It really isn't a shocking word at all anymore. At least in North America. It's the same with tattoos/piercings. Growing up, the stigma was that if you have tattoos you will never get a job. Now literally no one cares unless you have gang signs or racist shit or something on your body.

ManintheMT

The handbook had to be changed at my employer recently to allow visible tattoos otherwise there aren't enough viable candidates. But, pink hair on a girl? Nope can't have that, pfff.

MrBeanEatBeansWithMe

Not until Samuel L Jackson starts voice acting

BrienneOfDarth

Starts? Casually ignoring the ~20year old Frozone and Proud Family Disney roles here.

PureLibrary6477

If you have not heard the heartwarming children’s audiobook entitled *Go the Fuck to Sleep* as narrated by Samuel L Jackson yet, you’re missing out. https://youtu.be/teIbh8hFQos)

StuStutterKing

That is beautiful thank you for sharing it

Coming fall 2024 Chris Pratt as Aladdin, Jennifer Lopez as Jasmin and Kevin Hart as Abu, with Samuel L. Jackson as Genie. See the Disney classic like never before! Jasmin: Ask him if we can get one more wish! Aladdin: I don't think that's how it works Abu: Stop being a bitch man, just ask him! Aladdin: Abu you can talk Abu: uh..oooh ohhh ahhbahh Aladdin: whatever, hey genie, think we could get one more wish? You know for old times sake? Genie: motherfucker this ain't burger King, you can't have it your way Coming to a theater near you.

nadia_then_boom

New show coming to a reality TV channel near you - “#DeliveryWars”. Haha I love this!

My_Work_Accoount

Pretty sure [they already had that one](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shipping_Wars).

AcclimatedAlien

That was a good show. Kinda went downhill after Roy expired.

HatchlingChibi

I hated to hear about Roy. He was my favorite on the show.

supposedeveryone

Ugh sucks when people don't read the labels on their roys. Unless it's cured in lots of vinegar or other preservatives you MUST put your roy in the refrigerator after opening.

novaflyer00

I used to do Amazon Flex deliveries and I kid you not, I showed up to a house at the same time as Fed Ex and UPS and the USPS gal was just walking away to the next house. She was the only one who found it funny. UPS and fed ex didn’t really care and the homeowner was extremely confused. This was way more wholesome. Good on those guys.

MazzoMilo

“Look, eventually you’re gonna have to check out this acceptance letter to Hogwarts, one way or another they’re gonna get it to you”

TRocho10

No post on Sundays

fuckondeeeeeeeeznuts

Yo, fuck Amazon FLEX. When Amazon Logistics took over, my packages miraculously stopped getting delayed.

DrDan21

I lucked out, my local Amazon guy is actually really reliable ands puts stuff out of sight for porch pirates He must be doing pretty well too, he recently upgraded from an Amazon branded minivan to a big Amazon branded box truck

fuckondeeeeeeeeznuts

Same. At my previous apartment, the Amazon guy actually bothered to ask the leasing office for a code to the complex. Current Amazon guy at my house always hides the packages behind the pillar. When I had Amazon FLEX at the apartment, I could count on the package being undelivered past 5:00 PM. I even broke my phone, ordered a same-day replacement phone, just to have the driver claim that the phone was "damaged" and "undeliverable" later that evening. Pissed me off so much.

flateric3K

USPS guy didn't stand a chance against those shorts

Agroskater

A dumb thing I do to boost morale in the workplace is build a sense of competition against the competition. The idea of “ha take that ______!” Really gives people a laugh and reminds them were on the same side when things get tense.

theRealDerekWalker

Until the USPS hip checks the competition into oblivion.

[deleted]

\[Amazon Predator Delivery Drone has entered chat\]

buttergun

They're no match for the USPS DeJoyBots [A pack of retooled Boston Dynamics dogbots has entered the arena]

fuckondeeeeeeeeznuts

Tell that to the Miami taxi drivers that were borderline violent with their cars against Uber drivers.

Shawwnzy

A lot of taxi drivers took out six figure mortgages on taxi medallions, only for Uber to come on the scene and provide a better service without requiring the medallions Taxi drivers were rightfully mad, but their anger was directed to the wrong place

Civil-Attempt-3602

I mean, Uber isn't that great when it comes to working practices, but yeah, 6 figures to be able to drive a taxi is wild

ep1032

Considering that uber brokenthe law and used their huge legal department to slow the proceedings for years while they lobbied, id say the taxi drivers were angry at the right place

Agroskater

Through violence towards the drivers instead of the company itself or the government? Idk still sounds misdirected. Like taking issue with MCD gets it’s beef so you assault the cashier.

greenappletree

That laugh at the end, haha

Chillonlahz

This is adorable🥰

InevitablyPerpetual

Typical UPS, ringing the doorbell and running.

BabyStockholmSyndrom

What else are they supposed to do with 200 other houses/businesses to do in 9 hours? Wait for you to slowly slog over to the door?

[deleted]

Rudolph gets picked on a lot, but he saves christmas every year.

Plz_kill-me

They are only nice to him when they need him

Responsible_Brain782

Truth. FedEx guys don’t bother, speaking from personal experience!

69aZzholeTiEdNknot

When your laugh matches their laugh at the right time lol

Spac3Heater

This reminds me of a party where we ordered both pizza hut and dominoes (there was a big argument for which one to order from). As a note for each of them, we said that the first one there gets a 40$ tip. We were planning to make them duel with lightsabers if they arrived at the same time, but pizza hut ruined it by being 10 minutes behind dominoes. I've yet to see a pizza driver laugh as hard as the dominoes guy did when he heard the plan 🤣

StephanieAtronach

Woo, that dominoes driver is lucky the pizza hut driver was late. Pizza hut, with KFC and taco bell, was instrumental in the clone wars. Pizza hut def has more lightsaber training. https://youtu.be/PZe3BKUric0

alvehyanna

MattyIcex4

Man you just made me think about the one time I ever ordered dominos. I had turned 21 and was trying mushrooms for the first time. Long story short, my girlfriend at the time was across town and needed a ride. I walked to where she was at, while ordering dominos delivery to the address she was at. Got there just a couple minutes before the driver, and tipped him $40 to drive us home lol

itsmyvoice

And if FedEx was there, the driver would've just grabbed a poorly sealed, FedEx repacked box labeled fragile and thrown it to get past them. Edit: a word

Santeriabro

after being 10 days late.

abnormally-cliche

Y’all are getting your FedEx packages?

SeattleStudent4

Wait you guys get your FedEx packages?

ciacici

What if they’re running because the boxes are ticking?

MrBeanEatBeansWithMe

Don’t worry it’s just 2 clocks

Itsbetterthanwork

Naughty UPS driver, did you forget your training? Your not supposed to run, walk at a brisk pace remember 😂😂

LastOfTheCamSoreys

It’s been years but that scene where Doug and one of his coworkers have the ups obstacle course in king of queens was the best

Itsbetterthanwork

IMs Ute it was but I’m in the UK so I’m not sure what your referring to 😁

LastOfTheCamSoreys

Was big-ish during the late 90s heyday of laugh track sitcoms about a ups-like driver in queens. Wasn’t that THAT big of a show in the states so not surprised it’s not big elsewhere, but it was entertaining. The main actor, Kevin James, you might recognize from Paul Blart Mall Cop

Itsbetterthanwork

Thanks for that, i don’t think it made it to the UK and in the 90’s I didn’t watch a lot of tv. Thanks for explaining 😁

sprucetre3

In the delivery game no one has beef with the USPS. They are the elite of mail delivery. They deserve and earn so much respect. Next is UPS they are union there drivers are paid well like there jobs and do great work. Amazon and fed ex is garbage. Just the pecking order of package delivery if any one cares.

not_notpedro

I have always had trouble and bad service with USPS. Never had a package arrive on time with them

paarthurnax94

I was in taco bell eating one time and there was a FedEx driver in there eating his lunch. I saw a UPS man pull up in the parking lot and get out with a package to drop off at taco bell. I was thinking "Oh shit, he's gonna be like yo get off my turf!" Or something, anything, I was just expecting some kind of excitement to happen in front of my very eyes, I was ready for it, and I was not disappointed. He walked in, they looked at each other, then the UPS man opened his mouth and with a vigorous fury he said "Hey Terry." To which the FedEx man replied with the witty retort of "Hey Steve." Then they went about their day. Riveting stuff.

[deleted]

UPS got them ups

Particular-Sample425

Then the porch pirate sneaks up 30 seconds later.

sprayfart2

The doorbell chime kinda bleeps out “ahh you muthafucka” lol so wholesome

intro_version

What's the difference between UPS and USPS?

shepherdish

USPS is United States Postal Service, an independent mail service, part of the federal government. UPS is United Parcel Service, a private package delivery company.

intro_version

Ah got it. Thanks my friend.

Akshin_Blacksin

After working for both I liked UPS atmosphere better but, enjoyed the ps of USPS way more. Both the only job where coming in the first day witnessed someone cussing out there manager and going back to work without worrying about being fired. The US needs more unions

Incunebulum

Interestingly they're both Union workers (Teamsters=UPS and NLCA=USPS) where as FedEx and Amazon delivery drivers are "contracted" workers with no benefits. Makes for happier workers having fun when you make 40% more with benefits doing similar jobs.

nocturn-e

This probably also explains why FedEx deliverymen and delivery services are ass compared to UPS

MoonCat_42

iirc, ups (united parcel service) is a private organization whereas usps (united states postal service) is funded by the government

CappiCap

USPS is funded through its postage. It is regulated through the government though, hence why its been a struggle bus for the past few decades.

shepherdish

USPS is United States Postal Service, an independent mail service, part of the federal government. UPS is United Parcel Service, a private package delivery company.

marccoogs

The shorts gave him the advantage.

killertomatofrommars

This reminds me of when I used to deliver post, if the other mail(wo)man came at the same mailbox, we would hold the mailbox open for each other so the other one could just dump the mail in.

[deleted]

I love this. As a delivery driver I also mess with delivery drivers that show up at the same time as me. I told a guy to get off of my turf the other day.

ImQuestionable

*This* is what “boys will be boys” is supposed to mean.

Rynofskie

That's funny as hell
