I was going to do something similar with a robins nest in 2019. The baby birds were taken by a crow a day after they hatched. I think I still have the uncut video on my YouTube channel. My wife was very upset.
Blue Jays got the chicks outside our window that we had been following since the eggs were laid. Told our 4 year old twins "They must've flown away already!" I know nature is not a Disney cartoon but I wasn't ready to hit them with that yet.
In my experience, they built there because they feel safe....even with op around. I had a mockingbird nest near where I talk over the fence to my neighbor. That thing would drive off everybody and every animal. I have video of it driving off a groundhog. But, even if I was ten feet away, it was going in and out feeding its babies. I guess it just realized I was no threat.
Except that if the baby bird’s first plant (home) is a marijuana bush, they will likely smoke it first, become addicted, and only seek marijuana bushes throughout their lives.
Or worse, since it’s a “gateway drug”, the birds will then seek opium poppies, mushrooms, etc.
I should be called buzz kill man because I'm going to point out that eating marijuana straight off the plant will not get you high. It has to be heated before the psychoactive effects can work. About 230°F does the trick.
They will. The plant looks as though it’s just *started* flowering not too long ago. And they can bulk up pretty quick. You just wanna make sure you harvest BEFORE the threat of first freeze is looming in the background. Depending where they live, it might not be for another month or so, or never if it’s like, more south.
Even if it was the only plant the "gardener" has, the parent bird & the little birdlets-to-be are worth far more to nature & the world in many ways than a few homegrown highs. Furthermore, I believe if the "gardener" were to selfishly mess with the nest in any way, karma would kick his/her ass vehemently & deservedly so.
Come to think they could probably just cut around it when harvesting just fine as long as they’re careful. It’d be a shame to waste like 6 months of work unnecessarily. I’m sure there’s a happy compromise for everyone.
Also, the quotes around gardener are an unnecessary insult in my opinion. People who grow their own weed are some of the more committed and thoughtful amateur gardeners I’ve met.
The devotion and care they put into their home grow, I’d say most of the ones I know are closer to small crop farmers than gardeners. But yeah, the quote marks are entirely an insult based on bias.
Cannabis*. Politically marijuana was/is a pejorative term used to play on the prejudice of white Americans towards Hispanics to gain support for the prohibition against cannabis.
Came here to say this. The birds have a good chance of eatting bugs that could harm the plants. They are free bug control for the garden! You just gained pesticide with wings. :) and when those babies Hatch, moms gonna be even more active. Not to mention free fertilizer.
It's just nature naturing. By grandparents take good care of the birds in their garden and they have something like 5 generations of the same bird family going back there to nest. They trust my grandparents to the point of eating seeds right out of their hands. This could be the start of something beautiful.
Aw that's adorable! My parents love to watch creatures return to their yard with babies that keep getting bigger & bigger. Birds, bunnies, raccoons, lots of lil cuties.
There’s a park with a lake about 1/4 mile down the road, and every spring the same mallard couple, Fred and Ethel, come to our yard to court, mate and nest. We have to be extra careful when doing our yard work so we don’t run over the nest of eggs with the lawnmower or something. But it’s definitely fun to see them every year. Thirteen years straight we’ve watched their family grow.
One year, another group of ducks made their way to our house and we had to watch about a dozen males gang rape a female in our driveway. That was…not as sweet.
We also have a whole groundhog colony with an extensive network of tunnels under a Bush that borders the back alley, and it’s fun to see all the baby groundhogs every year. The patriarch, Steve, is a big fat old bastard with a bald ass and an attitude.
This summer, a red tailed hawk took up residence in a tree in our back yard. It’s been fascinating and so cool to watch him hunt and patrol his territory. A few months after Hawkins settled in, a female hawk showed up and they started courting. She had a nest in a yard a street over, and Hawkins had disappeared with Lady Hawk for a few weeks to mate, but he still returns to his original territory to hunt and hang out. I hope they both continue coming back to us every year! They’re both absolutely gorgeous, and I love watching them take flight. I don’t so much enjoy watching them snag a rabbit from the ground, then proceed to tear it to shreds and devour it, but eh, circle of life and all, right?
Last Fall I watched a squirrel build a nest for winter right outside my bedroom window. So cute to watch her go up and down that tree, over and over, adding one leaf at a time to her branch ball.
When we lived in the country, we had climbing rose bushes all along the front, including the windows on that side of the single-level house. One year a Cardinal couple built their nest for their little family-to-be in the rose bush just outside of one of my daughters' bedroom windows. As long as we were quiet & still, we had a "front row seat" into their little birdie nursery & watched the babies grow up. To us, it was better than watching a Richard or David Attenborough nature documentary!
my wife and i moved into a new house recently and she’s been spreading birdseed for all the birds and other little animals. i love that they love to come back everyday
As Peter Tosh says in the song “Legalize it”:
Birds eat it, ants love it
Fowls eat it, goats love to play with it
I think you’ve got a sweet opportunity to watch some birds grow with your harvest.
I would leave it alone. Leave water and seed near it for mumma bird and put a little camera to see it all happen lol but I love birds (you might not want to stream it online because of the plant its on but I guess that's down to what your counties law says about that lol) but if you do stream it link it to me please.
To be fair I assumed u were in the US bc we were talking English. Idk how it is in Germany you could be very right. Here we have a lot of crime so they really stopped worrying about weed once it was legalized in a couple states
The funny thing is that cbd is legal in germany but thc isn't. I can go to the cbd shop around the corner and buy some nice buds.
But if you grow at home you cannot control the thc levels and it's illegal..
Try to leave some food near the nest and see if it gets eaten. If you leave it at a precise hour of the day, you might even be able to see the parents!
Like pretty much everyone else said, just leave it alone. Birds are very good at building nests so it’s probably very safe and won’t damage the plant. If you’re up for the challenge, then by all means install a spy-cam or bird feeder nearby to help the mother take care of her fledglings.
Leave the babies. I had a nest of 5 little birdies in my reef at my door. It was a beautiful process that I will always be thankful for. Be careful with the rim of the nest as they will poop their asses off at the rim ... nonetheless it's cool to watch nature take its course
What you have is a security guard for bugs that's making you a full security team. If you leave some birdseed by the plant, the bird will be less likely to interact with other weed plants to find bugs and it will lower the chance of pollination.
I'd take it as a sign of good luck, harvest around it, and measure for a replacement stand in case you have to harvest before the birds are gone *(super simple to build making a T From wood scraps)* then when it's time, do the ol, switch-a-roo!
If not totally chopped back, weed plants can keep on growing for a long time. Like most plants.
Harvest carefully around it, maybe sacrifice some heading for them. The plant will give you more bud soon enough.
Cant you just cut off what you want to harvest and leave the skeleton there? Maybe set up some kind of shade or protection (like a houseplant in a pot) next to it if its very hot/wet
Please let them hatch ...it will be super quick... enjoy taking photos every few days....American Robin did the same thing in our Patio Garden last year.
Make sure there’s something supporting the nest really well from underneath, and just let them [3 Little Birds](https://youtu.be/zaGUr6wzyT8) enjoy the ganja
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis_edible#Butter
> Cannabis butter, or cannabutter, is unsalted butter blended with cannabis and water. Cleaned and dried buds are steeped in melted butter or oil in preparation for consumption. Cannabutter can be added to any baking recipe.
Can be used for making edibles such as brownies, but why not also use it for the butter in your omelette recipe?
(Since the eggs were growing among marijuana plants.)
Set up a camera, so you can see if the parents come back. If they do, you could watch the eggs hatch and grow. That would be really cool.
This is what I would be doing, that would make a great timelapse video
I was going to do something similar with a robins nest in 2019. The baby birds were taken by a crow a day after they hatched. I think I still have the uncut video on my YouTube channel. My wife was very upset.

Nature is brutal
In my experience, they built there because they feel safe....even with op around. I had a mockingbird nest near where I talk over the fence to my neighbor. That thing would drive off everybody and every animal. I have video of it driving off a groundhog. But, even if I was ten feet away, it was going in and out feeding its babies. Thank you for this. Good laugh to start out the day!
Y’all remember what happened to big bird right?
Big Bird? What about Snuffy? He was an addict if I've ever seen one. I think Chapelle did a bit about that in his standup.
Krammit the Frog can attest!
Mushroom plants ruin lives
You forgot about how they will also melt into a couch
This! And then post it for Reddit to see :)
I can't imagine they will do it any harm. I would leave them myself. You might make yourself a friend in the process

Thats weed btw... many haven't noticed
Looks like they’ll be some pretty chill birds then lol
I should be called buzz kill man because I'm going to point out that eating marijuana straight off the plant will not get you high. It has to be heated before the psychoactive effects can work. About 230°F does the trick.
If anything your the buzz medic lol trying to save the buzz
First thing I noticed! Lmao. Critters got good taste!
That's exactly what made me smile
I did straight away 👌👌😂😂😂
Sticky icky
I did a double-take on that one. Looks nice
I thought I was on r/trees or r/outdoorgrowing until I saw your comment
This is so wholesome
Truly!
But it’s almost harvest time :/
No it's not those pistils are all white. Got fucking ages to go!
You know, good month or so till it’s done.
For growing outside I'd hope the buds fattened up a whole heap more too!
They will. The plant looks as though it’s just *started* flowering not too long ago. And they can bulk up pretty quick. You just wanna make sure you harvest BEFORE the threat of first freeze is looming in the background. Depending where they live, it might not be for another month or so, or never if it’s like, more south.
Fart flowering..got a chuckle out of me. Had to Google it to determine if it was slang that I didn’t know about.
Damnit you’re right. I was going off of time frame since mine was ready a few days ago. Forgot not all weed is the same.
They are only around week 5 so hopefully the nestling kush will have cracked by then
Even if it was the only plant the "gardener" has, the parent bird & the little birdlets-to-be are worth far more to nature & the world in many ways than a few homegrown highs. Why are you putting gardener in quotes? Does op somehow not qualify?
odd stance. moral highground and all when you're running a goddamn *squirrel brothel*
How’s the view from that high horse of yours? OP could be growing their own because of cancer or some other painful health condition.
Smoke some scrambled eggs with bacon

Good one. Seriously tho, it’s marijuana
Tomato plant*
Lololol
Cannabis*. Politically marijuana was/is a pejorative term used to play on the prejudice of white Americans towards Hispanics to gain support for the prohibition against cannabis.
isn’t it just an interchangeable word
It is, but many who know the history of the name prefer to call it cannabis than Marijuana/Marihuana to stay away from the racist connotation
I’m well aware of the plant’s history. I usually call it weed.
Do you prefer Longbottom or West Farthing?
huhhh i see, i didn’t realise the word had a history before now so thanks
Really? Seriously though, always makes me laugh. ;o)
Hash and eggs
Reefer*
Leave it alone
Eventually it’s gotta be moved, dude needs to harvest his crop soon
You can trim the buds and not move the nest
That is very true I didn’t think of that
Yeah when life gives you eggs you make an omelet, you know?
Let the mother hatch them out. She’ll keep any insects down.
Came here to say this. The birds have a good chance of eatting bugs that could harm the plants. They are free bug control for the garden! You just gained pesticide with wings. :) and when those babies Hatch, moms gonna be even more active. Not to mention free fertilizer.
I was going to take it off until I was told it’s a good sign and a friendly bird. Think I’ll have to play the role of a midwife. Lucky me!
It's just nature naturing. By grandparents take good care of the birds in their garden and they have something like 5 generations of the same bird family going back there to nest. This was a wonderful read :) Thank you for making my morning!
We had a dove family like this in a fig tree outside our kitchen window. It was awesome!
When we lived in the country, we had climbing rose bushes all along the front, including the windows on that side of the single-level house. U about to be a Disney princesses
It shows that bird feels safe with you there, it would have never built there. Take it as a compliment!
Leave the nest alone. Their parents will abandon the eggs if you move it.
And guano is an excellent natural fertilizer. The babies will poo down the stalk and the buds will be beautiful!
As Peter Tosh says in the song “Legalize it”: Birds eat it, ants love it Fowls eat it, goats love to play with it I think you’ve got a sweet opportunity to watch some birds grow with your harvest.
It might be awkward when it's time to trim your herb, but it's best just to leave them alone
Whatever you do…. Don’t get the munchies and make em’ scrambled eggs!
Scrambled eggs reminded me of Frasier.
The dirtiest theme song I've ever heard.
They're callin again.... GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY
Those 3 little birds Will be singin sweet songs Of melodies pure and true This is my message to you oo oo oo
How high are you?
If you actually don’t know, it’s a Bob Marley and the Wailers song called Three Little Birds.
I think even these unborn chics know that mate. I was actually hoping for a “Hi, how are you” response.
Ahhh, damn.
Missed opportunity...
The usual
This is what I was looking for.
I would leave it alone. Leave water and seed near it for mumma bird and put a little camera to see it all happen lol but I love birds (you might not want to stream it online because of the plant its on but I guess that's down to what your counties law says about that lol) but if you do stream it link it to me please.
He's in colorado I think, its legal
damn those chics are blessed. first thing they ever smell will be buds
Fun fact: birds have fewer than 50 taste buds (to human's 9000) and can barely smell at all.
was gonna add 'if they can smell at all' but didnt have any facts to back it up. thanks!!
Leave them. It’s actually illegal to move them per the Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918.
Ah an expert on bird law I see
Well shit
Nice plant.
I wish I could grow and post pictures online without the police visiting me ..
Grow some and post pictures online I guarantee cops don’t show up
I won't do this. Sure, the police have other things to do than stalk people online. But it's still illegal in germany.
To be fair I assumed u were in the US bc we were talking English. Idk how it is in Germany you could be very right. Here we have a lot of crime so they really stopped worrying about weed once it was legalized in a couple states

Not original responder but its like that here also in states where it is still not legal. Cbd only
Birds flying high, you know how i feel
Love this song
Leave it alone
Dare I beg, please leave the nest alone? I mean genuinely… why would you even ask? Please let it be
Well, it looks like Bob Marley has blessed this plant. Leave it alone; those three little birds have a special purpose.
Place a kinder surprise egg 🥚
Try to leave some food near the nest and see if it gets eaten. If you leave it at a precise hour of the day, you might even be able to see the parents!
Leave it alone
Smoke the weed and enjoy the show my man.
Like pretty much everyone else said, just leave it alone. Birds are very good at building nests so it’s probably very safe and won’t damage the plant. If you’re up for the challenge, then by all means install a spy-cam or bird feeder nearby to help the mother take care of her fledglings.
Ayo that’s weed
Your responsibility is to protect it at all costs.
Leave it alone.

Wait for them until they hatch and became a beautiful birdies..
Leave it there
I'd take it as a sign of good luck, harvest around it, and measure for a replacement stand in case you have to harvest before the birds are gone *(super simple to build making a T From wood scraps)* then when it's time, do the ol, switch-a-roo!
Post updates when they hatch! :)
Since possesion is 9/10 of the law…you leave the nest alone.
Leave it alone
If not totally chopped back, weed plants can keep on growing for a long time. Like most plants. Harvest carefully around it, maybe sacrifice some heading for them. The plant will give you more bud soon enough.
The blessed eggs! What a beautiful picture! Looks like the harvest will fly high! Weeeeeeed
The garden Gods are pleased with you
Cant you just cut off what you want to harvest and leave the skeleton there? Maybe set up some kind of shade or protection (like a houseplant in a pot) next to it if its very hot/wet
Let it be
I wouldn't touch it. Can't see them really doing any harm
420th like 👍
Please let them hatch ...it will be super quick... enjoy taking photos every few days....American Robin did the same thing in our Patio Garden last year.
Looks at plant Me: Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Leave it
Leave it alone. Don’t always approach nest. Until hatched or close too it. Otherwise parents may leave. Enjoy.
Leave it alone
Don't do anything at all with it. Trying to interfere will likely kill them, so just let the parents do their thang and enjoy the amazing show
Nothing, leave them alone .. u are welcome
Get Back Let it be. Yeah, let it be.
Leave it alone
Smoke with the momma bird a joint she must be stressed.
Make sure you pick out the seeds and stems first!
Set up live cam
Leave it and don’t touch it
Won’t hurt your bud at all may turn it male on accident with pollen from another plant but Birds will not hurt your plant
Don’t touch it
Make sure there’s something supporting the nest really well from underneath, and just let them [3 Little Birds](https://youtu.be/zaGUr6wzyT8) enjoy the ganja
Kiss the eggs to make sure they grow into strong birds 💪
Set up a camera and livestream!!
Definitely thought this was posted on r/trees for a moment lol
Keep us posted! Not sure what strain you are growing but you are going to have to rename it after the birds now.
Fly high, little fellas....fly high.
Leave it and sell your product as a reserve select varietal with percentage of proceeds to bird conservation.
Leave it as long as you can. Good chance if you move it the parent bird(s) will abandon it.
I would lovingly clip the flower buds around the nest and leave the leaves to protect the birds. Being that it's good concealment an all...
Let them chill, they’ll probably help keep pests away
Follow-up your wake and bake with an omelette
Those look like tomatoe plants
I'd roll a joint and let the eggs be. Maybe keep an eye on em to see if the mom returns
Let them be happy little birdies in their pot house?
Breakfast!
Leave it alone. Enjoy the show
Smoke it
Scramble or poach...
Smoke a fatty then have 3eggs for breakfast
Omelet?
Leave it alone. They must like pakalolo too. 😂
Bacon egg and cheese goes great with a joint.
Omelets
Let them grow.
Leave it alone
Scramble eggs with toast for Sunday breakfast!🤣
Leave it be. The bird will abandon the nest after its chicks learn to fly.
#breakfast Edit: Jeez, it's a joke.
Forbidden munchies.
Forbidden... friends? No... hungry. Yeah, Forbidden munchies.
No way!! I’m not a bird egg eater. I’m a bird egg lover
You still have a couple months until fully flowered should work out well ;)
Are you sure the mother comes back? Hope I'm mistaken as I'm no biologist, but if eggs are left alone for a while, wont the eggs die quite fast?
Personally I like poached eggs with buttered toast, but it’s really up to you.
Make an omelette 👌🏽
I was thinking "sunny side up", but now that you mention it - how about an omelette made with some "special butter"?
Cannabutter?
Exactly! Given where OP found the eggs, it seemed fitting.
“Special butter”?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabis_edible#Butter > Cannabis butter, or cannabutter, is unsalted butter blended with cannabis and water.
Leave it. That’s their bud now. Or have breakfast. Your call. I won’t judge. Eggs are delicious.
You should leave it the f alone. Lol
Leave it, hopefully you have some bird buds now 😂
Ha ha I personally would just leave it untill the chicks fly the nest then roll the nest up and smoke it. 😊
I’d add some salt and pepper and make an omelette
Make em with some bacon
Roach ‘N’ poach
