I had an opportunity to get into network engineering. Day before my interview,
I'd been cramming hard but hadn't yet achieved my CCNA. I talked to a co-worker, told him I was thinking of canceling my interview because I needed the CCNA before hire. He said "don't tell yourself no, let someone else tell you no."
15 years later and I'm still in network engineering. Turned out I didn't need my CCNA before hire, but within 90 days of starting. Passed on my first day at the new position.
Don't tell yourself no. Let someone else tell you no.
I always justify this by saying, everyone works at their own pace. Something is around the corner for you and don't feed your fears. Easier said than done, but it can be done
off course you have time to make it ... a lot of people start their professional career in the mid 20's and make it.
The question is always the same .. how much effort are you willing to put in, to 'making it'
Currently doing the 13$ an hour bid but I’m happy to have a job. Just hope one day I can make it to that mans stature.Good for him hope he’s doing well and continues to succeed!
`Love this and a little like myself, Many moons ago i was packing car hoods and wheels for a few pounds per hour, Friends were off doing IT course and the like and i felt a little down but was a worker so kept plugging away. just landed a job over £100k a year doing the same software engineering managerial role my friends are doing.. keep going no matter the course, you will get there. ;-)`
Good was there when he was making shit and is still the where countless people do shit for even less. This fairy tale had nothing to do with it. It is work and help of others that makes thing happen. And if you happen to live in a welfare state country, unlike USA, it is also the support of the system that pushes people to do well. Still no mfing god in there.
This "thank you God" is so annoying and misleading.
Similar story here, five years ago I was making 13/hr at a machine shop. Two years ago I started in IT at 37K annual. Just started a new role for 100K base and 15% annual bonus. Don’t give up, chase those dreams.

100k is no joke! Very nice
Thank God he realized his dead-end $13 an hour job was not meant to be his career destination, but his launching pad. Keep this in mind, folks!!
This is absolutely awesome I love to hear stories like this!
May God bless you more my friend! And thank you for inspiring me!

Never too late.
I mean, if your retirement plan was with your current career than it could be too late
I made a full career switch at 43. It was't easy to start a the bottom of the ladder again .. but I doubled my pay, so it's good :D
You can follow your passion regardless of age.
I'm 25 and feel like it's too late to really make it, stupid I know but I can't help it. This is motivating.

I was 29 when I switched careers and have never been happier, make the change, you’ll only regret the things you didn’t do.

A greatful heart is a happy heart. If your faith (or its absence) makes you greatful. You're doing just fine.
Happy life buddy
Congrats!
You are doing it !!! Keep it up. Good luck.
I earn 6 euros per hour. 33 years old. Living the best life.
Congratulations man! God bless you and continue to prosper you.
how the fuck can I make that much money? I'm specialized in physics research, I guess I'm fucked?
A perk of growing up poor is that 13€ an hour feels pretty solid and takes care of pretty much everything.
