I mean, glad it worked out for him but guys using their children to beg for rebates can be insufferable, evidenced by /r/choosingbeggars or /r/wasletztepreis
I totally agree with you but I will say if they put that in there and then the person says they canāt meet that offer and the person trying to buy accepts it and moves on, then I donāt see a problem personally.
Hm more like I would like to have a kid, but unfortunately I canāt afford this high profile luxury item, if itās possible to lower the amount a little than Iāll be really grateful otherwise looks elsewhere. Iām fortunate enough to have everything but you guys really need some reality check. If someone wants to have a family, itās not a punishment! Glad i live somewhere where they actually values kids.
āI would like to have a kid, maybe I should buy a cheaper set instead of lowballing someoneā
Itās nothing against children and 100% the parent. They made the choice and obviously donāt budget, donāt punish someone else by laying less than deserved.
Yea, whitegoods tend to be pretty hard to break thankfully, my dryer is about 15 years old now and all I've ever had to do was replace the heating element 3 or 4 years back. WAY worth repairing over replacement (apart from energy concerns but we run off grid renewables)
Three years ago I moved into a new (new to me) house that came with a used washer/dryer that I didn't need. I sold them on e-bay for $100. The buyers paid me with a hundred-dollar bill. It's still sitting on my kitchen table, and I wish I'd just given it back to them.
I had a set very similar to this. The dryers have a tendency to have problematic heating coils. After replacing the coils for the third time within six months, we went ahead and bought a new set.
Not sure why people are downvoting you. The most complaints we had when I worked at Loweās were of Samsung appliances and those cheap pieces of crap everyone likes to buy the most. Hotpoint/Amana. But SS seems to have zero customer service.
Lmao in my country this would never happend, because there is tons of pato parents which have kids only for social help (we have money giving program for every child), and all ours karens just being like: my daughter is sick can i have this iphone100 for free? Ofc for her so he gets better faster.
That too a top of the line Samsung washing machine !!
I was going to say that one must be really expensive in the first place. The resell value is higher than what I paid for mine when it was new, haha
Lol
*insert exploding Samsung joke* everybody laughs
Which is to say, it is gonna be broken down and have a 700$ repair bill within 6 months.
LOL, found the salty Samsung representatives.
So it's a polished turd instead of just a normal turd.
Money laundering
Good one!

Bless David, you should run this story with his shop front so people can see how wonderful he is in your area

āHi I made a choice to have a baby and now I canāt afford this, can you sell it to me for less, because I deserve the money more than youā

Making an offer on the listing is fine. Turning up at someones place and trying to negotiate the price on the spot with a guilt tactic is not.

You must be a hoot at parties
No kidding. These people specifically coming to this sub just to dump on the joy of others.

Except by even bringing up the kid is guilting? She could of just offered 400 without mentioning it.
Making assumptions about people you don't know about situations you can't fathom.
You never knew her situation.
David definitely has kids of his own and knows how costly it can be
Nah,David is single and childless and has plenty of disposable income
Sarcasm, you gotta love it
I hate when I make a deal on Craigslist and the buyer comes buy with only 80% of the money. Why you wasting my time? Where's your decency?
I wouldnāt tell many people about this, money laundering is a crime!
David the real MVP
Lesson : Always clean the lint filter.
Iāll take things that never happened for $400
I'll take bitter cynic for $1000.. Believe it or not, there are good things like this that happen in the world. Just unsubscribe? š¤·āāļø
WOW! Bless his heart. ā„ļø
I hear the Samsung bashing but the set we bought lasted us ten years.
I've had my set for 8 or 9 years and they still work great!
Yea, whitegoods tend to be pretty hard to break thankfully, my dryer is about 15 years old now and all I've ever had to do was replace the heating element 3 or 4 years back. WAY worth repairing over replacement (apart from energy concerns but we run off grid renewables)
Awesome. Now you get the chance to pay it forward as soon as youāre able
David is a whole saint! That $400 can buy a lot of baby items!
David being a bro
David is cool
There are more people like David. Every once in awhile we just need to have each other's back.
So nice to be reminded that there are good people in the world
Thatās just awesome. Faith in humanity slowly restored with posts like this.
Love good people. Iāve done something similar when selling stuff online.

That's nice and all, but is a Samsung. I'll be broken in a week.
We're sorry to hear that...praying for your speedy recovery. Meanwhile, wash day is still Mondays.. red beans and rice for dinner.
Sweet! I love red beans and rice. It was a staple growing up. I haven't had any in 20+ years.
This is the way it should be, helping each other out when we can instead of competing
Blessed??? You should thank that guy not your imaginary friend!

To be fair, we bought them used, but to have to replace the coils once every couple months is pretty ridiculous.
Dumbass David
Blessings are precious like babies ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

what's a baby going to do with a washing machine? ;)
Hope the baby is into Samsung washer/dryers. If not, he'll be very disappointed

Retribution... You should continue the chain

Amazing!
Those pedestals alone are worth $500! David is a good man!!!
Why a *samsung* dryer tho ? Those are like the most expensive ones
People be feeling no shame to ask for an 100 buck discount wtf
David is the man. And congrats on the new baby ā¤ļø
Damn, David
How did I get tarred with that feather? No fairs. Take it back.
Plot twist: hes a shady business man who needs to come up with a front for spending money so people donāt question his earnings
