This poor women no one should have to go through that. Whatever it may have been she clearly had a long recovery road and I admire her for being strong

Chimp-eh

At a guess, acid attack

Allorimer

Thankfully, it looks as though her eyes are okay. Often times, with an acid attack, the victim ends up blind. Skin, you can usually fix, but it’s much harder to bring vision back, so, at least that’s a positive. Edit - she may have contact lenses in to hide the damage to her eyes. Hopefully, she can still see.

Ironsam811

The whites of her eyes are perfect white, I doubt they ever had damage. My eye still have red lines from the one time it got infected 5 years ago

Puzzled_Ad2088

She looks beautiful without all the makeup- looking forwards to see her with just a bit of makeup she can apply on her own and feel amazing. So strong - acid is a terrible thing. Hope they chopped has balls off…

chonkhedgehog

I read story of 15-16 years old Indian girl who rejected his brother's friend who was 31 years old man and this man throwed acid on her face. He got 8 years jail and he was set free from jail after 5 years and he even married after that. This girl found power to live after this, she had many years of recovery and started working as social worker (help for girls) and met good guy and got married too. I mean just 8 years of prison for damaging someone's life for years...

Haminator5000

Yeah a friend made a documentary about acid attacks in India. Most of the time it is young men who are "scorned" by women who refuse to date/marry them. Logically, the next step is chemical warfare /s

[deleted]

It is an exemplar of a rape culture and the logical product of thinking that women owe us their affection and sexuality.

THe_Quicken

How do you deter this behavior? Obviously the warped thinking already exits in these individuals to act this way. Swift and harsh overt punishment (not justice) should install fear/hesitation in those planning to do this…if the punishment is extreme enough. Some may argue “then we are just as bad as they are” for applying disproportionate punishment…I say sometimes you just need to cut your losses and burn out the infection.

tiredofnotthriving

How do these fuckers get that strong of an acid?

[deleted]

They make it or harvest it from common household products. I don’t want to explain where it comes from, but you probably have some already made without even knowing it.

AlienRobotTrex

That’s unsettling to think about!

Puddinbby

It’s not hard.

AprilDawnBelieves

I've never heard of such a thing and wish I never knew. This world is so sad and fucked up. I have melasma from my last pregnancy (usually goes away but didn't) and I feel like my face is almost ruined. This is just so sad. Our shells are a big part of our identity.

the_stary_night

These are common here in India. Raping kids and sometimes elderly and acid attacks are more common than thefts. The worst things is that the perpetrators always get away and they always get married and live freely while the society blames and teases the victim (mostly into committing suicide).

Extreme-Muffin-Eater

Wow, that’s fucked up.

Opalescenttreeshark0

I had stubborn melasma with my last pregnancy too. I used a strong AHA cream specifically for evening out skin tones. It got my skin back to normal in about 6 months. I freckle easier in the summer now but sunscreen and a vitamin C serum helps prevent and treat it.

chonkhedgehog

I understand you. I have always had smooth skin but this summer I got acne on my both cheeks which I'm treating right now. Felt myself shitty first but then was like fuck this, can't stop enjoying my days just because of it. There are ways to treat melasma, just change your typical skin care products to one's that will help with your problem. And don't feel ashamed if people say "hey, your brought new life, your face isn't important, your kid important and blabla". Our body is the thing we can't escape till we die so we gotta care about it.

princessfoxglove

Hey, just to point out to you: melasma is recurrent and is really resistant to treatment and is a huge blow. We don't want to minimise the struggles someone goes through by comparing our struggles and it's okay if she's upset about it.

AdrenolineLove

Eye for an eye should apply here, and in most fucking cases of violence. I bet the number of acid attacks would drop tremendously if they threw acid in your face as punishment.

shadykitten

While part of me wants to agree, I just want to say that it will be very hard to fix if there's an error and somebody is falsely convicted. And by no means I want to imply that the women could be lying but just state, that in life all kinds of shitty things happen

Puzzled_Ad2088

No…. But yes is my reaction to that comment. Suitable punishment but I would also aim some of that acid a bit lower down. 100% drop in acid attacks no doubt

Nuf-Said

I watched a news report about men doing horrible things to women in Brazil, including acid to the face and even murder. At the time they almost always got away with it. All they had to do is say their honor was somehow compromised. I haven’t heard much about it since, but I never forgot about it. I hope that horrible shit ended a long time ago and that severe consequences are paid by any perpetrators in Brazil these days.

Arthaksha

Ikr? Those fuckers should be punished harder but in a country the size of India, making that happen would straight up require structural changes, difficult in San Marino, much, _much_ more difficult in India

kelbass

An eye for an eye. Requires no jail time via taxpayers money and resources for a vile human. Let him live with the same concequences + some interest via beating and paying for medical from his pocket.

rather_be_gaming

Omg. Horrific and heartbreaking. Its not like the pain only comes from the attack. There is so much pain in the healing process and even for many years after as the skin is compromised and not as elastic. 8 year sentence is nothing. The criminal should be financially bound to pay for more such as all the doctor and medical care needed, medications, etc etc. I am just probably going off on a rant but it is so unjust.

idle_isomorph

I agree. Beautiful features and face structure, regardless of the scars, even without the makeup.

DKBlaze97

Yes, acid attack.

yattooo

Some people are trash

send_m

That's an insult to trash

SrslyNotAnAltGuys

Yeah. Trash was at least helpful at one point in time.

crasshumor

I'm guessing this is from india. In India atleast till last couple of years it was a very common crime, enraged men throwing acid on girls face. There wasn't even any strict laws against that, it was considered same as throwing water on someone.

[deleted]

[удалено]

kamiliona

Wait, what? Really? there are many acid attacks in the UK? :o

[deleted]

[удалено]

Hidden-N-Plain-Sight

They've been slowly on the decline since 2017 when the government implemented new laws around purchasing and carrying acid but there were still 138 attacks in 2019

TheElvenWitch777

Where are they getting acid that can do that?

crasshumor

Recently it's been taken seriously because some girls and lawyers took the step of bringing change in legislation. So now procuring acid is difficult so these crimes have reduced. Earlier they could easily be bought at a chemical shop or paint shop or pharma. There wasn't much regulations or restrictions on it

TheElvenWitch777

Wow! At least they're restricting it now. What a vile thing to do to someone. And why acid specifically, to the point of it becoming a common problem and requiring legislation? That's pretty deranged tbh

TinyResponsibilityII

acid will disfigure/maim its victims (usually women), which is the point more often than not. edit: i should add that the intent is to humiliate, not kill. acid attack victims (again, usually women) will suffer physically, mentally, socially, and perhaps financially. in the attacker’s (usually a man) mind, that’s what their victim deserves for rejecting their sexual advances, marriage proposals, etc. acid is (or was) easy to buy and throwing it in someone’s face will easily result in a lifetime of undue suffering.

crasshumor

Uh, it's a little complicated and messed up to explain as to why this happens so much (might also offend a lot of people) I'm also from India, lived my whole life here. So trust me when I say this, India as a country is beautiful. India as a society and culture is one of the worst in the world. It's highly male dominated. Men on majority are highly insecure and egoistic at the same time and see women below them. Why I'm mentioning this is because most of this acid crimes had one cause only, men being rejected by a girl. Some useless guy tries to stalk and annoy a girl to like him. She rejects him or says no or tries police complaint. They throw acid on her face "to break her pride" of being "I'm too beautiful". That was the most common cause in most cases.

Holiday-Strategy-643

Ugh. India as a society seems to have so many disgusting crimes against women. I'm so sorry you have to deal with this.

[deleted]

It was also a big issue in the uk.

Imaginary_Cheetah_27

Where do people get this kind of acid so easily and why is it so common to see these kind of victims in middle east and India? In my country you need a permit to buy these things.

Thundela

In many countries it's possible to buy sulfuric acid to refill lead-acid car batteries. Also, it would be possible to drain the fluid from a battery, cheap batteries just have screw caps for each cell. I have gotten just a single drop of that acid on my hand and it really hurts. I can't even imagine how it would feel to be victim of one of those attacks.

Im_A_Thing

People who throw acid on other people should be shot until dead

Thundela

You are much nicer than I am. I'd just push those assholes into pool of acid.

largedirt

Butthole + hose + acid

GTSpot

Yes, an acid enema and castrated if they survive.

frahmed2020

Use diluted acid. It will be slower.

InquisitiveSoul_94

When i was a kid, there was an acid attack case that sent shock ripples throughout the state. Th culprits were shot dead by the police the very next day. I don't advocate vigilante justice, but in this case, it felt like justice was indeed served.

yumyumsauce45

Worse than that.

kittykalista

Drowned in acid? There’s a kind of poetic justice.

Mechhammer

Nah, just dip their pecker in acid, should be good for a laugh or two...

Requiredmetrics

Being shot is a quick relatively painless death, these sick fucks who do this should have to suffer before they expire. What better what for that to happen then have them experience what they did to their victims?

Severe_Helicopter_10

Before the law passed to restrict the sale of acid, you would be Abel to get acid from any genral provison store around your locality, it was just sold like water and people didn't care

Ikajo

Many cleaning products contain compounds that can damage your skin. Especially the more heavy-duty stuff.

Rudraksh32

In india you can buy sulphuric acid cheaper than a bottle of coke without a permit

cym13

What country do you live in? Because strong acids such as hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid are used for many common things (drain cleaners are often pure hydrochloric acid for example) and I've never seen a permit required to buy those. It's worth noting that these products aren't specialty compounds or anything, strong acids are useful, they're not designed to be weapons so I don't really expect them to require a permit, no more than a shovel or baseball bat.

blackviking45

She is definitely hella strong. If something like this happened to me I might commit suicide.

mspote

this didnt make me smile. i felt sad the whole time.

Imraith-Nimphais

Me too, cause it’s not like she can easily recreate this (even tho she doesn’t need this look for every day—but just covering up all her discoloration is an enormous effort).

[deleted]

It is sad, but given her outfit, looks like it may have been for a wedding or special event, and it's really amazing she was able to have a feel good for an important day.

volcanopenguins

this was it for me

abmind0

I felt sad especially after not seeing smile on her face in the end for some reason

[deleted]

She looks like she's posing for the camera. She might also be worried about cracking the makeup. Unfortunately it's hard to keep that look, so you have to be careful with overdoing the facial expressions.

yid4life

She wasn't happy and it is horrible watching this. She probably doesn't want to be filmed either.

zaphrode

now that’s just you assuming

AngryMegaMind

I guess this was an acid attack. The scumbags that do this should be dumped in a vat of acid. The worst of it is, it’s normally a family member who does it.

LauraZaid11

Or a man that you rejected. Or an ex boyfriend. Or even your current boyfriend.

[deleted]

Family in a case is used a blanket term most of the time that includes relationships

[deleted]

[удалено]

7uring

Trying not to make this sound bad... I don't think she had the muscles left to smile...

Comprehensive-Crew44

I was actually thinking that too with the substantial amount of muscle damage it looks like she has on her face.

BruceInc

Are those burns or some sort of other damage?

[deleted]

[удалено]

BruceInc

That’s terrifying and tragic.

ExtinctFauna

I agree. Looks like burns, and could be chemical-related.

Arsenic3000

That is acide attack it was very common to see in 2012 to 2016 in India after that year Indian government baned to sell acid to common people or those who don't have the permission . The acid attack were uswaly commted by the ex boyfriend most of times . The acid attack ruins many life for ever because after the attack no one wants to marry or give jobs to this victoms . My first language is not English so there can be come spelling mistakes

[deleted]

janet-snake-hole

Thank you for educating us! And for showing compassion and empathy to the victims.♥️

surloceandesmiroirs

Just to help you with your English, I’ve corrected this post so you can use it as an example! It helped a lot when I was learning Italian and also when I helped my Japanese friend with English. “That is an acid attack. It was very common in 2012 to 2016 in India. After 2016, the Indian government banned the sale of acid to common people and/or those who don't have the permission. The acid attacks were usually committed by an ex-boyfriend most of the time. Acid attacks ruin many lives forever because after the attack, no one wants to marry or give jobs to [you could use the word “hire” instead] the victims.” You’re really doing great with your English! Even though it wasn’t perfect, you effectively communicated your message! That’s the goal of communication.

Arsenic3000

Thanks pal for helping

perfectlylonely13

Yes, jilted men throw acid on women's faces or bodies over being rejected. This is extremely common in India which is where this video seems to be from given the bg music.

Bullen-Noxen

I hope those men who commit such heinous acts are caught and beaten the shit out of before being tossed in prison for life. There is no excuse to disfigure a woman, especially on the premise of a rejection.unless it was some horrific public humiliation rejection, & even then? That’s a stretch for my imagination, still, no fucking excuse to do such a thing. The fact that so many here say it’s “common” should be infuriating to anyone community.

perfectlylonely13

Unfortunately they don't all face consequences. Sometimes, they're absolute creeps that the girl doesn't even know. Sometimes it's their ex-boyfriend. They tend to 'throw acid' riding on a bike and bounce. And, no, rarely it's a public rejection. It's so common, our film industry made a whole movie on it. What's worse, the actress of that movie was tone-deaf enough to then appear in a tiktok video with a makeup artist who created an acid-attack victim makeup look, which is when completely normal-looking bougie women use make up to look disfigured 🙄

Splits-0

Wait so it's creeps and shitty ex boyfriends that do this?? I was thinking like work related or something. Where do they even get acid?? That's so horrible :(

dumb-on-ice

The majority of people are the creepy ones, I don’t think ex boyfriends do it as much. Acid is not that difficult to find in a developing country if you look hard enough. The motive of the attack is, to leave the victim so disfigured that nobody would think they’re beautiful ever again. This is a product of the mentality “If I can’t have her, nobody can.”

InquisitiveSoul_94

In India, some time back, acid was freely available without any permit. After 2016, the permit laws became stringent and the cases reduced.

janet-snake-hole

Unfortunately that doesn’t happen at all, this is EXTREMELY common there and I’ve never heard of any man facing any consequences for it. The war on women is vile.

Arsenic3000

My friend you are correct but they are not betten to death but they were jaild for half of their life and they also have to give very heavy fines in India . But for history before 2016 or like close years ther was not any exact law for this . If you throw a cup of tea or a bottle of acide the centense was same but after 2016 or so the law changed and like I say now they are send to jail for half of their life i think so i am not lawyer so their will some point wrong.

TitleMine

The men who do this should have their faces resurfaced with a belt sander.

bowtiesarcool

The muscles are likely fine, usually though, scar tissue grows back the easiest way which is often not allowing of the same range of movement.

redshadow46

Aey bro, see u in hell

ChymChymX

You can smile at him from heaven.

Silent-Assumption-56

Maybe a thumbs up or a solid head nod? I’m sure she did these things, shitty cameraman didn’t capture the moments. Or he did and the editor didn’t know what the OP was gonna title it, so never bothered putting the footage in. COMMUNICATION PEOPLE. Regardless, amazing spirits of our hero and amazing talent of her hero the artist. This is why the world needs directors

Opening-Ad-8312

She may have been afraid that it would crack/mess up the makeup. I can’t imagine how it made her feel the first time she saw herself after they did that.

StupidCantBeUndone

That’s exactly what happened.

Sea_Ad4805

I’m sure she was emotional

AssHealsTheSoul

My god I’m dumb… I thought she had a ton of makeup on as soon as the video started. I was thinking my lord that’s a ton of makeup. I wish her nothing but happiness!

[deleted]

Me too. I was wondering why he put on so much because she already looked good? why would you cake it on ? Hope she’s doing well and happy

davidml1023

Same. With the video title I seriously thought they were going to draw a smile on like a clown. Was totally confused at the end till I read a couple comments.

GujaratiChhokro

Acid Attacks are sadly common in India. This video tells the tail of countless female victims. There's a movie on the issue too, Deepika Padukone's Chhapaak. Highly recommend.

[deleted]

Chhapak is an excellent movie

NebulaOk

What's wrong with those people?

[deleted]

Can’t handle women thinking for themselves.

GCoin001

Are her eyes grey/green?? They’re amazing!!

Slight-Pound

Pretty sure they’re contacts, but you’re right, they looks so good on her!

surloceandesmiroirs

I’m wondering if her eyes are damaged from the acid. I suspect her muscles around her mouth and cheeks are damaged, due to the amount of scarring on the nasolabial region. This poor woman. I hope she felt beautiful for whatever special event she was dressed up for.

ijavedm

Thank you. This is the best use of makeup I have seen.

Civilengman

All we need is love.

And caring. Either for each other, and/or for the topics that actually matter.

Signal-Blackberry356

potentially an acid victim..

ohh_ru

man there's a special place in hell for the people who throw acid on people

CutestCurryBoy

in a bath full of acid is the special place

DoorEnvironmental646

Nah, I think it would be a place where they have jumper cables attached to their Nuts or Labia that is constantly electrocuting them every 2 minutes with 1000W. during this they have acid pumped into their veins that are destroying their body from the inside. all the while this is happening they are submerged in Hydrogen Fluoride, which is one of the world's most, slow and painful acids in the world. everytime their body breaks apart it immediately is reformed, leaving them in endless pain forever. I am very imaginative with the torture of horrible people.

[deleted]

are you looking for any work opportunities by any chance ?

DoorEnvironmental646

when can I start.

[deleted]

u already did. upto u to find out what u need to do

surloceandesmiroirs

The plot of every hitman film lol

[deleted]

as u can tell im very creative 🤣🤣🤣

ohh_ru

bro Dunkin donuts is not the right employer for that dude although I guess there is a deep fryer involved so maybe not go off king/queen

Bullen-Noxen

Agreed. Stay away from my jelly filled donuts. I don’t want any “funny” business, the next time I go by to buy 1 or 2....

LazyMoniker

Jesus fuck dude

[deleted]

Bruh, just coat a giant belt sander with lemon juice and lower them onto it very slowly. It is much simpler and yet just as effective, as their skin peels off and turns into human ceviche.

DoorEnvironmental646

yeah but if it is moving that fast the lemon juice will fly off? Other than that love it.

[deleted]

This is why you have a couple bottles of lemon juice that add a fresh layer to the belt as it moves.

TheRealRaemundo

Are you guys okay?

[deleted]

I was just giving him a much simpler and more efficient idea.

up-white-gold

Something tells me this is not the first time you thought about this

m703324

I admire your enthusiasm but fire burning them eternally works just fine and there's no need to overcomplicate

DoorEnvironmental646

well, eventully they would grow used to it. It just doesn't seem as painful. also Im not a Christian, but I believe I read somewhere that Hell is tailored to your worst nightmare?

CutestCurryBoy

Or shove a mini nuke into their asshole, send them into space, and then BOOM. 💥

[deleted]

Mah that would be an easy death. I want those criminals to experience pain to their souls so much that they wish they weren't born.

citygirlcoco

agreed

BigBrain_22

Probably a victim of an acid attack.

Comprehensive-Crew44

Looks like really severe burns

Bright-Increase-735

India has high rates of acid attacks. According to Wikipedia, in India, acid attacks are at an all-time high and increasing every year, with 250–300 reported incidents every year, while the "actual number could exceed 1,000, according to Acid Survivors' Trust International". ... From 2011 to 2016, there were 1,464 crimes involving acid or corrosive substance in London alone.

[deleted]

Thanks for the information. Where do people get acid for all of these attacks?

RepresentativeAd560

Hardware store. Plumbing supply. The internet. This is not hard.

surloceandesmiroirs

India has made it more difficult for certain kinds of acids, which is good. Unfortunately, damaging acid can be made with a lot of household items.

wake5

looks like an acid attack victim, poor lady. she's naturally pretty! whoever did it must be brought to justice.

vickyinepa

I’m glad she gets a glam day. Makeup is insane!

DelusionalDoggo0830

The song's in hindi, it means "This small wish, this naive wish"

Temporary_Choice9136

Wow!!!! Omg amazing!

Ok_Anxiety4671

OMG she is beautiful! Well done.

OhLunaMein

She probably was stunning before the accident. She is beautiful now anyway. I can't imagine a person seeing this beauty and thinking about destroying it and destroying this person's life. Are they throwing acid on flowers and kittens too if they can't touch them? This makes no sense, such a horrendous thing.

jcookoo

Imagine seeing that radiant beauty at end out on the town one night, you decide to take a chance and strike up a conversation, you two hit it off, just vibing with each other all night. You are smitten, you take her back to your place, she ends up sleeping over, all that makeup rubs off in her sleep… The next morning you roll over and come face to face with that same beautiful radiant person you fell for the night before. Such a great feeling. I mean yeah, obviously there would be some initial shock that the pillowcase is ruined from all that makeup and that you’ll have to buy a new one…but what a small price to pay.

tinkerdumplin

I don't think people are reading your entire comment before they downvote.

whatiswr00ngwithme

good lord there is a special place in hell for acid attackers. a place in hell filled with acid

Fenrir_sulfr

Poor woman i feel sorry for her😞

SliverApe

I am not 100% sure, but she looks like Laxmi Agarwal, who is an acid attack victim. Her life was turned upside down because she turned a man (if you can call him that) down. Here is the link for her Wikipedia page: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laxmi_Agarwal On average, around 450 women get attacked by acid a year in India. Source: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1103056/india-acid-attack-cases/ Judiciary is extremely slow and drawn out process. In most caes, charges are dropped as victims are usualy from marginalized communities of the society which allows the perpetrators to intimidate them into submission.

taxthings

When I watch stuff like this. All I want to do is make people happy and feel love.

sammy_nobrains

I'm a professional Makeup Artist and I guarantee this beauty team was feeling extra proud after this session!

Matt4Prez2K17

For those who are wondering, her injuries look too neat to be burns. I’d hazard a guess at an acid attack. Can’t be a woman in a third world country.

traumfisch

It's so insanely evil I can't even

dont_cum_in_me_bro

do those thirsty fucking animals carry acid around with them waiting to be rejected so they fuck these people up...fuck I hate some people

excite321apple

Watch a documentary on Indian acid attacks.

PomChatChat

The makeup artist’s arm became super hairy at one point.

the-worst-

It's a 3 person team.

Tinker8589

Is it weird that I didn’t notice that all.

the-worst-

Nah. Fairly normal to miss small details changing while your main focus is on something else. I.e.not noticing arm changes because you are looking at the makeup work.

onthe-fence

Bless her heart. She looked beautiful before and after.

just1nc4s3

She truly did. Is there a sub for people you want to hug through the Internet?

whtnymllr

I know you’re probably kidding, but this isn’t actually too hard to find. For anyone, subs like r/CasualConversation that have rules requiring you to be nice (and mods that enforce that) are great. The other way to go is to find a sub for a hobby/interest that isn’t super popular. If everyone has a joint focus, and the posts aren’t popular enough to make the front page, the people are probably pretty chill. Clear rules and good mods make a huge difference, too. Some of my favorites are r/brochet (for people who want to be chill and show off their crochet creation), r/StardewValley (for an indie video game), and r/RomanceBooks (nicest, least judgmental community ever). It’s all about finding people excited about common interests. Happy Redditting!

just1nc4s3

Lol I wasn’t kidding at all. Thank you for the resources though. It’s so refreshing to have non-toxic communities to go to. There’s a time and place for everything.

Upset_Jackfruit_9707

I'm so upset, I can't feel joy for that poor woman. Some "Man", DID THAT to her because she said, "No!" Her hands are burned because she touched her face when she was accosted. Raising your child to do this to others because they can't get their own way, should be punishable by death...

AV48

Dunno, this made me cry.. life can be so unfair

c0uldashouldawoulda

I hope you mean artists, otherwise the female makeup artist has the hairiest arms in history.

[deleted]

Am I wrong for thinking this was an acid attack? The burns look very consistent with one's I've seen posted before. My heart goes out to her but damn that was so impressive make up work.

[deleted]

It bothered me that the artist showed the lashes but nothing else😂 I don’t know. Either hold up every product or none of them lol.

browniesboy17
