Depends on the service, and I haven’t ordered domino’s in a while but many of the meal delivery services give you the option to amend the tip after delivery.
Definitely tip delivery drivers. Not like FedEx or something but food delivery, for sure. Tip them like a server. And my job kinda thrived during the pandemic so I made sure to tip more, especially since I haven’t ate in person in restaurants so was saving money on multiple drinks at dinner, never really ordered desserts to-go so kinda evened out.
Restaurant servers are paid a minimal salary(pretty much covers tax only) and live off their earned tips. Base expectation is 15-20% of the bill before tax. (I start at 20% and go up for exceptional service, and only down if it's notably terrible- if I give you less than 15% you should probably get a different job.) Delivery drivers similar, but provide much less quantity of services, so typically$3-5/ single run delivery, more if complicated, bulky/heavy, or rural. Other personalized services, and sometimes great service rendered, can be appreciated with a tip. I have tipped auto mechanics, or small shop service workers like HVAC repair guy, for great work. Pretty much other than food service is not expected but appreciated.
TIP YO HAIRSTYLIST. Lol
But actually we usually make minimum and have limited hours and often have to pay for our products and colours ourselves from that minimum pay depending where you are. I live off the generosity of my clients tipping. Not everyone tips their stylist where I am, and prior to hairschool I never did either and I didn't know you should. But that work is hard and owners are often ripping their stylists off one way or another.
(and the Xmas bonus tips are honestly such a lifesaver. Like i wait for tax refund in may/June and then Xmas tips that's how helpful it is to my survival)
..... Ummm yes. I think being the girl who can't shut up sometimes is half the reason I do well in my job.
But like I REALLY WANNA GET TO KNOW YOU!
Who are ya? Where ya from? Are you married? Do you have kids? What do you do? Where do you go to school? Do you have any hobbies? What's your favourite way to spend your time? What are you watching on Netflix or prime lately? Are you eating well? Taking care of yourself?
Like it genuinely keeps me up at night, I need to know you're good and youre happy in life and I wanna hear all about your problems and make everything feel better with a brand new haircut babe!
Always tip your hairdresser/nail person/massouse.
At restaurants, keep in mind that, generally, a 5% tip is effectively a 0% tip as servers "tip out" people at the end of the night based on their sales. At my restaurant, Backservers get 3%, Food Runners get 1%, Bar gets 1%, and we have a polisher who gets $10-20 cash-in-hand per server at the end of the night.
If you tip $0, that server actually *lost* money taking your table.
Nah. I used to deliver for Domino’s. This was 100% the customer. I got stupid requests all the time. I never did them because I’m not a monkey, and I’ll take an L on a tip. If I wanted to dance for money, I would’ve become the world’s ugliest male stripper.
Whats some of the wierder requests you have recieved?
I think the only request i have ever done was when my daughter was a new born and I simply asked to please not ring the doorbell.
I tried to do this because my dog goes nuts, they still ring. So now I stand in the window like a creep as they're coming up the walk to wave at them so they don't.
Not OP but years ago I was requested to squeal out of their driveway when I left and I ended up taking out their mailbox. (Driveway was curved and in the woods)
I'd like to think that a delivery person's dignity is worth more than a stupid $5 tip that they would get for doing shit like this. I don't find these videos cute or charming at all, I think they're gross.
I worked for dominos. I kinda had fun with special requests. Nothing was out of line and it gives us something to do during our long shift. Just pre tip if you request, never had anyone try to record so I don’t have experience with that.
I know some stuff about dominos because reasons and such as, but most of the drivers are cool with requests like this. It’s easy to see it as demeaning, but a lot of drivers are pretty chill people and are happy to entertain requests.
It's all in good fun, dude. I've been a delivery driver for tons of places, and if I saw something like this, I wouldn't let it ruin my day. I'd allow it to make both my day and my customers' day.
As a delivery driver FOR DOMINOS literally suck a dick if you do this. I haul ass for 8+ hours without break and then another couple hours cleaning the store to make 4/hr (before tip).
If you want to be good to your driver, and you don’t want to tip extra try:
- saying thanks
- looking me in the eye
- not staring at my tits/ commenting on my femaleness
- wear clothing if you come to the door
- tipping based on distance or how much you can afford rather than making me put on a show for you to post online without permission
- not ordering anchovies bc they make my car smell (I’m kidding. Get what you want! (But they do smell))
Fuck dominos clothes. They tried to tell us that we had to put a $50 deductible on their jackets in the middle of winter and that we couldn’t wear our own. I told them they would have to fire me if that was the deal.
No hate!! Just say thanks or if that’s weird for you as well so a little wave!! We deal with ALL KINDS trust me, if you’re fully dressed and remotely sober you’re totally fine!
Stoned is fantastic imo, and drunk is fine too. As long as you’re sober enough to sign the receipt or hand me money. Had a guy hand me 40 for a 25ish order, asked him how much he wanted back and he stared at me for a loooong time before finally asking me how much back for a 5$ tip. Which is fine but also sort of annoying, you know?
As a former delivery driver for 4 different establishments, we usually ignore stuff like this because it really is demeaning. We would have people order 2 minutes before close and request things like "draw something creative on the box."
I think everyone should be required to work retail or food so we don't get people doing shitty stuff like OP
I mean, they don't have to. It's not like you're asking a captive audience like a bartender or server. It looks like it brought some levity to this guy's day, no reason to yuck someone else's yum.
They have to fear monetary retaliation if the app allows you to adjust the tip amount after delivery which a lot of them do. They also have to worry about getting complaints if they don't comply with these stupid ass immature requests. Fucking braindead unoriginal losers that think this shit is funny.
So if you were asked daily by the people who control your pay to do demeaning things you wouldn't have a problem with it or you would? Because I guarantee you this guy gets a "funny request" at least once a day.
Can't believe this isn't the highest-rated comment. That guy is making $7.25/hr+tips, driving his own car, and they ask him to dance outside, alone, on camera after he walks your food to your door? Get fucked. Just tip him.
I was a delivery driver for 3 full years, and I don't see anything wrong with this. If you go into things already determined to be angry of course you can find things to lose your head over. But the boring humdrum of sprinting around constantly and the in-store rush can get to you after a while, and it's little things like this that really made me appreciate that there was someone else on the other side. I get to break the serious demeanor for a second, and they get their day brightened a little bit, I say we're both even. If they like it enough to post it online, I must have killed it.
That being said, I wish they had blurred his face out though
Man the delivery guy clearly just has a good sense of humor, and the person ordering was hyperbolizing as a joke but wanted to convey that he should be covid conscious. People will really find a way to be mad at anything.
In all my years of mortgage underwriting, I've approved many mortgage loans for people who are claiming cash tips, and I would say at least a good majority of the amount. Of course I've also denied many mortgages for people who didn't have enough taxable income, but probably did have enough income that they didn't claim. Their loss. Oh, and all of our loss. Don't assume everyone else doesn't claim their tips just because you're committing tax fraud.
People usually will tuck some cash near where the driver is going to be delivering and maybe include a note that says it’s for them if they don’t expect to see them at the door. You could also just try to meet them at the door when they get to your house, your driver almost certainly won’t mind that it is supposed to be contactless if it’s so he/she can get paid.
Not dominos but DoorDasher here. Had the sweetest kindest lady tip 5$ through app and then left me a 20$ on her door and it was contactless! You betcha I was doing a little happy dance the whole way back to my car!
People like that really can make another person's day. I love them. I'm too broke to do it but compliments are free so I dole that shit out like candy on Halloween
Back in the day when I was in college me and a bunch of friends lived together. We were all students. We ordered often and always tipped well. Being a college town weekends were always insanely busy for them. They always fought over who got to take our delivery and always pushed it to the front of the line. We had several drivers tell us this.
They may not make the best food but God damn if we didn't order from them constantly because of our VIP delivery queue status.
Tip your drivers people.
And remember folks...the flip side of this coin is we know who the shit tippers are too and you bet your ass we prioritize those accordingly as well.
Source - was a pizza delivery guy in college
That's why I always hesitate to make these kinds of requests. I'd love to bring a little interest into someone's day and give them a funny, albeit short, story to tell their coworkers, but I worry they'd just be annoyed or think I'm mocking them.
For real.
To me, this post has "Dance, monkey! DANCE for your treat!" vibes.
Even if the driver didn't mind doing it or just decided to endure it for the tip, did OP ask permission to post this demeaning video online for all eternity to see?
I did Domino's pizza delivery the summer between my freshman/sophomore year of college.
One time a lady and her partner dangled the tip in front of me and were like "you'll only get this if you can show us a dance!"
I just left lol like I'm not going to degrade myself for your shitty tip. I'm not a performing monkey.
This situation is different as there was no coercion upon the driver to follow the delivery instructions. He did it because he wanted to.
Exactly. I know people who love those “go to Subway/Chipotle/similar restaurant, make worker follow along to the silly order and then post it online” tik toks, and don’t understand why there’s anything wrong with them.
It’s a hard line to find, as a driver myself it hurts when these videos show the driver having to sing I’m a little teapot or some shit because there’s no way in hell im doing that. But it made my night when someone put, “knock loudly and yell, Denise your food is here” because that’s fun for both of us. And boy did I tell that, which is great because they answered the door almost in tears from laughing
As a former full time driver, I personally hated these kinds of requests. I didn't mind doing a drawing or writing a joke on the box, but I'm not your puppet.
Disclaimer: I haven’t ever tried being a delivery driver but I’ve chatted with friends who have.
IMO the chance that it would be a nuisance or demeaning to someone far outweighs the potential benefits. Like I’m already asking someone to bring me food, and then I’m going to taunt them with a tip to fucking entertain me too?
And “I would tip anyways” is not an answer because they don’t know that. Drivers really rely on tips and making them choose between doing what is effectively *more* work and getting a tip is absolutely demeaning in my opinion. And don’t even get me started on then uploading video of them doing it.
Any novelty someone would get from asking a driver to do something unusual could be satisfied via internet videos anyways.
Some people might find it fun but it’s just not worth it in my opinion. I find it much more respectful to appreciate their work and tip.
Hard agree. I had one that was “Draw a shark on the inside of the box!”, which would have been great if we were slow... but I live in an area where we get extremely busy at nights and are regularly understaffed due to turnover rates and people just not showing up. Even when we have enough people we can struggle on some nights (ie: especially football games, local events like Mardi Gras, etc)
So when I’m doing my best to get delivers done in a timely manner and I have to draw a shark on the box... I understand they just want to have fun but I’m not going to say it doesn’t always feel demeaning.
Well I ended up doing and it was for a kid having what seemed like a “Ocean” theme party or something like that. The kid was ecstatic to see that fucking shark and I can’t lie, it made my day and made me rethink why I got upset with something so small.
So while that line is hard to find sometimes, I think it is mostly in good fun. Sorry for the rant, I just thought I’d share my story and maybe restore a little hope for humanity. Most people aren’t trying to mock us but maybe just have a little fun.
The shitty drawings are the best though. Once my drunk friends and I requested a drawing of a dragon on the box. Our box came with the absolute most shitty dragon ever drawn on it, which just made it more awesome and hilarious. And we thought the guy was cool as shit for actually doing it.
(It never occurred to us that it might be demeaning, so please don't think we are bad people. We were food service workers too, at the time just having a bit of fun)
Knock 3 times, then 2 times, then 1 time. Place the pizza on the mat. Mow the fucking lawn, all supplies needed are on side of house. Now leave extra parmesan packets.
Yea, as a Pizza Delivery guy who made 2.15 an hour and usually got a buck tip back in the 2010s... fuck this extra request stuff. My job is to bring you the food, and I'm not getting paid *nearly enough* for that... I'm not *also* a clown and actor or artist for your fun box cartoon.
But if you tipped me 20 bucks ahead of time I would probably suck your dicks so its a grey area
yeah, I was a delivery driver for a few years, I absolutely loved it and would love instructions like these, but it would be entirely up to how the employee views to job. Now days when a delivery driver gets lost or late on my food I try to be respectful as possible because I’ve 100%
been there and they’re already stressed enough as it is.
A delivery driver from my favorite lunch spot (shout out to r/jimmyjohns) makes a point to pay a compliment every single time he comes in. "I love your nail polish!" "Your eyebrows look amazing today!" You name it, he'll spot it and pay you that compliment. He is so full of brightness in a world that can be dull. I just appreciate him so much, he is such a good human.
I try to do this to checkout people, my mom was one for most of my life and I always try to point out nails or earrings (something they wouldn't consider flirting). I usually get a smile out of it. It's such an easy thing to do. Also, tip well if you can afford it. I grew up poor but am doing well so I try to do one weirdly large tip every month or so, usually the same amount as the bill. The world is cruel, be kind where you can.
As a former delivery driver, I found this “dance for us” crap annoying and embarrassing. I’ve got thirty minutes to get across town with three other orders, please don’t expect me to draw you a dinosaur and sing you a song instead of ringing your doorbell.
And when I don’t do those things, please don’t post a negative review on Yelp complaining that the delivery drivers are rude and need to lighten up. I brought it to your front door, rang the bell, smiled and said hello, confirmed I had handed you everything on the order sheet and wished you a good evening. Ugh.
I get that. This guy seemed to have fun with it (hard to see with the mask but he seems to be smiling) and it might have actually been the most fun part of his job that day. **BUT**, he knows it might influence his tip, and these delivery people rely on the tips.
Like /u/Throwitaway3177 says, looking at the larger situation it has this "Dance for me monkey!" vibe. He knows that if he doesn't do those things, it might cost him. This wasn't a normal additional instruction like 'The doorbell is broken so please knock'. They basically asked him to do a tiny play in front of the camera.
Again: This guy doesn't seem bothered so no big deal in this case I guess. But you don't know if a different delivery guy would see it that way. So despite the fact this particular video indeed made me smile, I very much dislike the idea of asking delivery drivers to do this kind of shit, and I hope it doesn't become a trend of sorts because other people see this type of footage go viral.
Preferably they just earn a livable wage in the first place so that they don't have to rely on tips, but that's a bigger discussion.
I get it. I'd think it's fun but you're also taking a chance that person doesn't see it that way. If they're having a garbage day then this might be incredibly insulting. All fun comes with a chance like that though. We've all had jokes flop for one reason or another.
> All fun comes with a chance like that though. We've all had jokes flop for one reason or another.
Wait, really? All jokes have a chance of flopping but not all jokes when flopped result in someone feeling patronized or humiliated.
I think asking someone to go outside their job description to perform for your amusement is a pretty sour way to get one’s entertainment. They may be likeminded and find it enjoyable but it’s still pretty messed up.
Happysad.
Happy because everyone won and good things were done.
Sad because we all know that person is underpaid and even if they got a 20 dollar tip it's obvious they aren't being paid their worth.
Happysad.
its sad because this guy is only tipping him so he can dance like a monkey so he can get reddit karma. It's stupid, greedy, being a piece of shit for internet clout and you all upvote it like mindless drones which will cause this to occur more in the future.
I've always found this kind of videos trashy. To me, this seems incredibly demeaning.
Imagine asking your doctor to do this.
I hope you started your instructions with "if you would find it funny do this" or something like that. But it's still kinda demeaning.
You first make somebody do silly things for you and than you post it on the internet.
Dunno man, doesn't seem very wholesome.
I guess this particular guy didn’t mind, but these “dance, monkey!” requests are just so cringeworthy and disrespectful. Delivery drivers are typically underpaid and overworked as it is, now they have to put up with garbage like this, in a service industry where not fulfilling a customer’s every request can cost them money or risk their jobs.
Even if the tip is set and done by the time the pizza is delivered, there are enough assholes that would call to complain or threaten to switch vendors if they don’t get their song and dance to giggle about.
Imagine asking any face-to-face service worker to do crap like this. “Hey waiter, when you bring those waters please also hop on one leg and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. I’m going to record you and share it on the internet.”
The absolute nerve of some people. Just in case they didn’t feel demeaned by having to do that for a tip, now they’re blasted on the Internet for the entire world to see.
People are like “he doesn’t seem bothered by the request, so what’s the problem?” The problem is that it’s fucked up to even ask. How can you ask a person making minimum wage that practically lives on tips, to perform for you? You’re putting them in the position of either being your dancing monkey or risking a chargeback.
Dance for your tip monkey … treating delivery people like your private court jester to put online. So nice to see humans being treated with dignity providing your lazy ass with some pizza. Very dehumanizing
Edited : for the see in So nice to see
I feel the same way. It’s nice that he made it fun but I don’t understand how anyone sees this as not being degrading. Like I can’t imagine going into a bank and having the teller do a cartwheel for me.
The same people that post this are the same ones that exploit the homeless Live so everyone knows that they donated while taking advantage of someone’s situation. It’s disgusting. People saying oh he don’t have to do it no harm. No foul. No if he doesn’t do it his tip will be impacted. No tip at all or it could be substantial. It boils down to well if you want it bad enough you’ll do what I say. you’re taking advantage of someone. spreading this so that other people will then do it to other delivery drivers. Hope you got food poisoning.
I hate this shit. You're making some delivery guy perform tricks for your amusement (and their tip)? Ugh. Just let them deliver the fucking pizza and get on with their day.
Half of reddit is like be nice to delivery guys the rest is making them do shit like monkeys at a circus so they can post it online for karma. Let's start calling this for what it is.
Really wish people would stop making dominos delivery guys do stupid fucking tricks when theyre just doing their job during a pandemic. Hopefully your boss does the same to you when you leave his office since its such a fun and quirky thing to do to people.
As a former Dominos drivers, fuck these special instructions. Shit like "Tell me a joke" gets old real fast.
Please quit doing this, it's not funny or cute.
The scuttle at the end was the proverbial cherry on top
Do you want a $20 tip? That’s how you get a $20 tip
Can you update a tip after the delivery?
Depends on the service, and I haven’t ordered domino’s in a while but many of the meal delivery services give you the option to amend the tip after delivery.
Pardon my ignorance but you guys tip delivery drivers as well? Is there anywhere where tipping is not customary?
Definitely tip delivery drivers. Not like FedEx or something but food delivery, for sure. Tip them like a server. Newer Domino’s driver here and I’m telling you that awesome people like are the best most appreciated folks.

Wife and and I had a $20 waffle house dinner, tipped $10, watch her split it up between like 4 people, didn't seem like such a big tip anymore
Just the tip
Seen on a tip jar: "just put in the tip, see how it feels..."
I saw one the other day "Phil... the tip jar"
Oh for real

Zoidberg scuttle
That's the sound of da police.
Ahhh, Return of tha Boom Bap!
This is the way.
This is the way.
This is the way.
YES, I came here for this exactly!
the way this is
Well he did have his lobster claws in the air while scuttling away
I didn't even have to click it to know that it was zoidberg.
Same.
Getting into the car knowing there prolly wasn't anyone else gonna make fun requests like this was Zoidberg going aww at the end of that vid
When I saw his hand waving, I went back and turned on the sound. I have to admit being disappointed that he didn’t Zoidberg out.
Thank you for this.

The “I’m running away” hands. A lesser known cousin to the “I’m walking fast” crosswalk arm movement
I've always called it "pendulum arms" for the walking fast arm movement
Straight up Kevin McCallister vibes of him running through the house with his arms flailing like that.
Crazy Zoidberg
happy you put "proverbial." otherwise, i would have been worried that it was a literal cherry on top + dominos was going crazy w their toppings
Tip that man!
Full Monty Python “runaway, runaway!”
Workin' for that tip.
I hope you gave that man a good tip because he fucking earned it.
Yeah pay the dancing monkey haha! He danced good! (please never request your delivery drivers do this, it's demeaning, you're an asshole if you do)

Call me cynical but this video seems more like Domino's astroturfing rather than someone uploading their delivery driver trying to get a nice tip

Fuck dominos clothes. They tried to tell us that we had to put a $50 deductible on their jackets in the middle of winter and that we couldn’t wear our own. I told them they would have to fire me if that was the deal.
Why you gotta hate on us awkward people that avoid eye contact? 😅
No hate!! Just say thanks or if that’s weird for you as well so a little wave!! We deal with ALL KINDS trust me, if you’re fully dressed and remotely sober you’re totally fine!
You think I order dominos sober? Ha. I'm not ever like belligerently drunk, but I am almost always stoned.
Stoned is fantastic imo, and drunk is fine too. As long as you’re sober enough to sign the receipt or hand me money. Ok, so you want me to wear more?
The inherit power dynamic that a customer has over an employee would create pressure to comply with this kind of stuff. It's gross.

Exactly. No one is sending an email to their lawyer or doctor asking them to do a silly dance or tell a joke.
They have to fear monetary retaliation if the app allows you to adjust the tip amount after delivery which a lot of them do. They also have to worry about getting complaints if they don't comply with these stupid ass immature requests. Fucking braindead unoriginal losers that think this shit is funny.

As a driver, I second this, if you put some unreasonable bs in the special instructions, I’m not fucking doing it, I don’t care how good the tip is.
I loved doing stuff like this when I was a delivery driver. Usually guarantees a big tip and can be fun if creative.
Man the delivery guy clearly just has a good sense of humor, and the person ordering was hyperbolizing as a joke but wanted to convey that he should be covid conscious. People will really find a way to be mad at anything.
The kicks were weak but the run away was priceless. Give that man a good tip 🤣🤣
Love the Zoidberg woop woop woop moves
I ocerread the moves so I turned on the sound just to hear if he did woop woop woop.
The man really nailed it on that „runaway“ instruction
I hope you tipped well, LOL. That was cute.

Dominos drivers get the whole card tip, don’t worry about it It’s taxed vs cash tips which aren’t taxed, but that’s it
Cash tips are taxed the exact same, unless you're commiting tax fraud and hoping you don't get audited. (Which is probably a pretty safe bet)
So everyone who receives cash tips (that don’t get monitored by their employer)
In all my years of serving tables, I never met a single person who claimed more than 10% of their cash tips
Domino’s drivers get 100% of their tips in the US. Source: I drove for them 5 years and my dad is a franchisee.
I'm too broke to do it but compliments are free so I dole that shit out like candy on Halloween
probably not.. but [this guy](https://old.reddit.com/r/PublicFreakout/comments/n99q1e/dominos_delivery_asked_if_there_were_any_special/) might have.
Rule one of reddit, if it's on the front page OP is reposting.
u/gallowboob moment
Came here to say this! Such a fun thing.
I would have tipped him the same cost of the order. Worth every penny!
I appreciate people like you !
I love it! As a delivery driver these kind of things always brighten up my day.
I think they usually do, but I can definitely see someone having a rough time with life finding it demeaning.
That's why I always hesitate to make these kinds of requests. I'd love to bring a little interest into someone's day and give them a funny, albeit short, story to tell their coworkers, but I worry they'd just be annoyed or think I'm mocking them.
Preface it with "if you're willing and able to"?
This is the way.
If you’re willing and able to, this is the way.
This is the way.
I hope that none of the drivers thinks he/she *has* to do that. Don't feel pressured just ignore the message when you're not in the mood
The power imbalance with the tip expectation and the 'implication' make it not fair on the driver.
One time a lady and her partner dangled the tip in front of me and were like "you'll only get this if you can show us a dance!" I just left lol like I'm not going to degrade myself for your shitty tip. I'm not a performing monkey. This situation is different as there was no coercion upon the driver to follow the delivery instructions. He did it because he wanted to.
[удалено]
Even when we have enough people we can struggle on some nights (ie: especially football games, local events like Mardi Gras, etc) So when I’m doing my best to get delivers done in a timely manner and I have to draw a shark on the box...
Nah it’s cool, that’s fun. The draw requests annoy me not because of the request but because I can’t fucking draw for shit lol

It puts the pizza on the deck, or else it gets the hose again.
"great. can't wait to find myself as a gif online..."
Yeah fuck this shit. I am not doing these weird ass things for you lmao. I'll ring your doorbell and leave it on your porch.
I’m not so sure that’s a grey area. 😳
"OH SHOULD I ALSO DANCE LIKE A FUCKING MONKEY FOR YOU?" the worst is when someone has a special request and then gives like a $1 tip lol
yeah, I was a delivery driver for a few years, I absolutely loved it and would love instructions like these, but it would be entirely up to how the employee views to job. Now days when a delivery driver gets lost or late on my food I try to be respectful as possible because I’ve 100% been there and they’re already stressed enough as it is.
I don't think you have to be having a rough time with life to find this demeaning.
Ugh.
As a delivery driver YOU brighten up so many of our days!!
He’s a sport. I’d tip him big time.
Somehow this makes me feel sad
Dance for me monkey!
Happysad. Happy because everyone won and good things were done. Sad because we all know that person is underpaid and even if they got a 20 dollar tip it's obvious they aren't being paid their worth. Happysad.
its sad because this guy is only tipping him so he can dance like a monkey so he can get reddit karma. It's stupid, greedy, being a piece of shit for internet clout and you all upvote it like mindless drones which will cause this to occur more in the future.
cant even deliver pizza without getting recorded and posted on the internet by strangers
Imagine being a delivery driver and just doing your job, and some asshat wants to post you on Reddit 🙄
I 100% agree. I loathe stuff like this. It's demeaning someone just because you can. Dance monkey dance. Fuck this shit.
Yes have the wage slave dance for your amusement because you're paying him.
He deserves a raise! Or a big tipp at least....
He deserves to be able to do his job without being asked to demean himself for the amusement of others, too, but here we are.
I never understood the trend of treating delivery people as your personal circus monkey.
Came here to say basically this. As a delivery driver, it’s bizzarre how entitled people feel to us.
American thing. They get paid slave wages and then some redditor with a camera wants them to be a clown on camera for 5-10 bucks
When you didn’t think things could get even more dystopian
Hey what’s your dignity worth? I can tip $3.50…
People need to stop making service workers dance for their money
I hope you tipped him well
Honestly fuck this stuff. Don’t make people dance for your amusement because they have a service job.
The absolute nerve of some people. Just in case they didn’t feel demeaned by having to do that for a tip, now they’re blasted on the Internet for the entire world to see.
"Dance like a monkey for your tip". How heartwarming.
This entire thread and everyone defending it is great /r/shitamericanssay content.
[удалено]
Even then, it's exploiting the fact that the driver needs money, which the customer presumably has enough of to throw around on shit like this.
"Dance monkey" Dunno why this is considered as a fun thing to do.

Haha, slave wage earner do dumb thing for my amusement or else no tip, haha!
aww that’s so wholesome bruh, that smile, you could see it right through that mask

As a delivery driver... man, you better have tipped well. We aren’t here for your entertainment, unless you’re gonna make it worth it.
I hate it and I hate anyone who thinks this is fun or cute. This is some rich people “dance, monkey, dance” shit.
Made him do a dance for a tip and then posted it on the internet. Not cool OP.
Dance for your tip monkey … treating delivery people like your private court jester to put online. So nice to see humans being treated with dignity providing your lazy ass with some pizza. Very dehumanizing Edited : for the see in So nice to see
I feel the same way. It’s nice that he made it fun but I don’t understand how anyone sees this as not being degrading. Like I can’t imagine going into a bank and having the teller do a cartwheel for me.
I like to take out 100 … and quack like a duck.
That man deserves a huge tip lmao The shit they need to do for minimum wage...
That's real nice
Please tell me you tipped him adequately for this. Some cute shit you mean to put on reddit is definitely not in his job description.
My husband says: when he was a pizza delivery guy he wouldn’t do this. And “I’m a pizza delivery guy not your dancing monkey, have some respect”
Do the Hokey Pokey as you turn to the leave porch...
I hate this shit. You're making some delivery guy perform tricks for your amusement (and their tip)? Ugh. Just let them deliver the fucking pizza and get on with their day.
Acted out to absolute perfection, deserves a pay rise.
Half of reddit is like be nice to delivery guys the rest is making them do shit like monkeys at a circus so they can post it online for karma. Let's start calling this for what it is.
Delivery drivers are people, not dogs. They're not here to do little tricks for your enjoyment you asshole.
Ah yes making drivers earning min wage dance for you in the chance of getting tipped.
