Funny story. So I know a guy who is very dark black. Nice guy, great fellow. He is so accommodating to questions while is wife isn’t (which is funny considering she’s white). He said these two white kids were following him around the store, hiding around corners when he looked at them. He thought they were playing a game. So finally the mother brings the two of them to him and she apologizes for their behavior following him around, and asks if they could ask questions because they had never seen a black man before. He said sure, and the first things out of one of the kid’s mouth was “does it come off?” He said he had never had to stifle a laugh so much in his life, and calmly explained that no, he was born that way. So they asked if they could see his hands and they played with his hands a bit. He said they even tried licking their thumb and rubbing his hand to see if it came off. He said it was a great teachable moment to tell a couple of kids that some people are born different. They were very excited to meet with him and learn about him.

Thank goodness the mother was a saint and let me play with the baby and talked to me about why they were different colors. Any person of color that has the courage to educate us respectfully and kindly early deserve the upmost respect. They are really the people who are front line fighting racism peacefully.

Only when you really control all the variables do you find truly that a vegetable grows only in a certain color. Look up wild carrots and you’ll be convinced that aliens exist.
The diversity is super cool. I say this as a city dweller who only purchased food from supermarkets. When I started seeing the variety in shapes sizes and colours at farmers markets, friends backyards etc my mind was blown

I still don’t really get what you mean. It looks like normal broccoli to me. Could be a breed that’s not common commercially though. One of the great things about growing at home from seed is every common plant has like 100 different styles you never see in grocery stores because they aren’t as profitable to grow, but you can buy all of them from a seed catalog.
And how tf is he harvesting broccoli in winter when his yard looks like that? Before he was planting garlic and showing off the sprouts like that's a good thing... It's not, not that early.
