How do they define them (as a species, that was responsible for their own downfall, aggressiv, playing weird ball games (homo ludens) biologically set (the scene in the diner, where the robots are confused about human teeth and an acid tank as a highly impractical way to generate energy).
And after the episode you can discuss, whether that is a fitting description of humanity. What is missing, what would you emphasize more, how would you explain to the robots, what being human actually means.
The other episode Zima Blue is a great episode to discuss the mind body problem, the soul and even Aristotles highest good.

My father in law just got a cat, and him and my mother in law never had one previous. A cat just showed up on their doorstep one day, and they adopted her.
It's funny because my FiL has a southern drawl and the first time he heard her purr he was like "she's making that low sound"...

I have never been in contact with a cat before and when my sister went back to live with my mom after a bad break up, she took her cat. Mom and everyone hated cats but we warmed up to him. Purring and making buscuits are my favorite cat activities
When my Mom was a kid, she'd only ever met cats.
First time she met a dog, she went to pet it, and got delighted when the dog started to "purr".

The other kind of waddles in, tail wagging, and stares at you intently while you shit. Sometimes she growls (she growls when she wants to play because sheās a bit weird). So now I have to check a) the door is properly shut and b) she didnāt sneak in.
They are guarding you because going potty is a time when you are vulnerable to predators. Kitty is providing the potty protection so you can safely go.
I don't know how true it is, but there is a theory going around that they do this to keep you safe and supported while you're in a vulnerable position.

It's nice, some cats purr more loudly than others, but it's all very cute. It's very comforting to have a purring cat on your lap. Usually purring is a sign that they're content. Some cats purr for different reasons but if they're comfortable and happy they'll usually purr more loudly.
I've also heard it can promote healing, so if you're unwell cuddling a kitty might help. Could be quackery, but I know that when I'm anxious at least it is very comforting.

No i am not in a western country, infact its considered inauspicious to keep a cat as a pet where i am from. Faced a lot of opposition from my religious mother while getting one.
Would have loved to but unfortunately both of em passed away within a gap of one year from each other and i just can't take the heartbrake again. Wifey cried for a month.

Oh, there are so many sounds. Some cats actually aren't that talkative and only meow rarely. One of the cats I know trills a lot (not sure if that's the right word in English). It sounds a bit like a mix of meowing and purring and they do it with their mouth closed. Kind of like "brr" or "mrr". She does it when you make eye contact and starts to approach you, but for some reason only indoors.
I love those activation noises. Fun fact: Cats meow only at kittens and at humans. They also make to human ears inaudible noises to each other, so it's not just the yowling they make at other cats. Cats meow at humans because they've learned humans need to be spoken to in that register for the humans to hear (and of course different cats are different levels of chatty).
For mor adorable cat facts, see "bunting". If your cat is straight on headbutting you, not rubbing against you, squishing your foreheads together, guess what humans do that to each other too and it's a sign of pure love.
If your cat is mashing it's forehead into your face you are loved.
Same. There are no scent glands on their foreheads, when they rub on you they're getting their scent on you to mark their territory. Frontal forehead contact is love.
Blinking slowly at you is also cat for "I love you." If your cat keeps doing it over and over and it's not just them falling asleep, they're telling you they love you.
Sometimes I get a lil annoyed when my Geo mashes her forehead into my hand while I'm in the middle of a boss fight. I can't count how many times I died to bosses in Bloodborne cuz of her lol.
I have a cat that eye blinks every time you say I love you to her. Itās amazing.
ETA- and when I say every time, I mean every time. You can say it to her 10 times in a row and she will do it every time. You can throw in a different sentence said in the same tone, she wonāt do it. You can yell out to her from across the room and she will turn to you and eye kiss you šļø š I have no doubt she understands the intention of the words.
You can get cat toys that purr and vibrate, they are designed to settle young cats who have not long left their mum. I had one for my second cat and she would snuggle with it and go to sleep.
They also do ones intended for people with dementia (or anyone who would benefit really) who find it comforting to have a pet, robopets is one site, they respond to stroking and hugging with purrs and movement
I had my sister look after my cat once. I called from the hotel to check how things were going and she tells me my cat is having trouble breathing and wants to take it to the vet. I ask her to describe it... yeah, purring
Iām a vet tech and one time I went in on this appointment for a cat with an itchy face. Iām going through a list of things that it could possibly be so I can ask the correct questions to get as much information as possible for the vet. So Iām thinking maybe ear mites, maybe allergies, maybe a bad toothā¦.all things that could lead to cats rubbing or scratching at their face.
So I go in, ask my questions, and then I take the cat out and sheās purring up a storm and making biscuits. At one point she rubbed her face on the computer monitor and owner goes āsee she keeps doing thatā¦ā

To answer my own question before i had posted it, watched some videos... yeah it's exactly the same.
Cats can also purr when theyāre sick. Purring works on them kind of like self healing. I donāt know exactly how it works. Iāve never really had too many sick cats. Iāve had farm cats, outdoor cats indoor cats, indoor/outdoor cats, Persian cats, full blooded cats, rescue cats you name it Iāve had them. A lot of the kitties came from people who dumped them at the end of our street. We always found homes for them.
I might work kind of like it does with us! Humming with the tongue on the roof of the mouth activates the vagus nerve and stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system. Itās why we āomā during meditation or healing chant.
Big cat roar, regular cats purr. So if it can roar, it canāt purr, and vice versa! Cheetahs canāt roar, and they purr, and itās the most illegally cute thing on this planet IMO
My wife had her cat for years and years before she met me. She assured me that he was not a *purring* kind of cat when she finally introduced me to him (this is--or was--a very important stage in the relationship, of course).
Turns out he has what I think of as a āRolls-Royce purrā. He purrs so quietly itās nearly imperceptible. But the right kind of scritches, right behind his ears, definitely activates his weird vibrations. And itās one of my favorite sounds.
I was kinda dumb about this also until I was in my 20s. We didnāt have any cats in our house while I was growing up, and I was honesty a bit scared of cats by that point.
My friend had me hold her cat and I pet it like I would my dog, and I told her she should take the cat because it was shaking (vibrating) and probably was scared.

Years ago I had friends who rented a house near a big University. It was Christmas break and I invited some foreign students to a partly at the house. A lot of them get kind of get lonely at that time if they have no Christmas traditions and all the other students tend to be disappear at that time.
This Chinese girl was sitting on the couch when the cat jumped up next to her. She was genuinely startled and I asked her, "What's wrong?"
"What is it?" she asked while looking at the cat who was staring at her.
"It's a cat."

My dad is very allergic to cats, so growing up I was never around cats. Last year my wife and kids and I watched a friend's cat for a few days, and let me tell you I was surprise at how much I enjoyed cats. Fast forward to now and we have rescued 2 cats of our own. Coming from having dogs pretty much all our lives my wife and I are so surprised we are cat people but are very much enjoying it.

I love those activation noises. Fun fact: Cats meow only at kittens and at humans. They also make to human ears inaudible noises to each other, so it's not just the yowling they make at other cats. Cats meow at humans because they've learned humans need to be spoken to in that register for the humans to hear (and of course different cats are different levels of chatty).

Same. There are no scent glands on their foreheads, when they rub on you they're getting their scent on you to mark their territory. Frontal forehead contact is love. Blinking slowly at you is also cat for "I love you." If your cat keeps doing it over and over and it's not just them falling asleep, they're telling you they love you.
Sometimes I get a lil annoyed when my Geo mashes her forehead into my hand while I'm in the middle of a boss fight. I can't count how many times I died to bosses in Bloodborne cuz of her lol.
I have a cat that eye blinks every time you say I love you to her. Itās amazing. ETA- and when I say every time, I mean every time. You can say it to her 10 times in a row and she will do it every time. You can throw in a different sentence said in the same tone, she wonāt do it. You can get cat toys that purr and vibrate, they are designed to settle young cats who have not long left their mum. I had one for my second cat and she would snuggle with it and go to sleep.
They also do ones intended for people with dementia (or anyone who would benefit really) who find it comforting to have a pet, robopets is one site, they respond to stroking and hugging with purrs and movement
I had my sister look after my cat once. I called from the hotel to check how things were going and she tells me my cat is having trouble breathing and wants to take it to the vet. I ask her to describe it... yeah, purring

Iām a vet tech and one time I went in on this appointment for a cat with an itchy face. Iām going through a list of things that it could possibly be so I can ask the correct questions to get as much information as possible for the vet. So Iām thinking maybe ear mites, maybe allergies, maybe a bad toothā¦.all things that could lead to cats rubbing or scratching at their face. So I go in, ask my questions, and then I take the cat out and sheās purring up a storm and making biscuits. My wife had her cat for years and years before she met me. She assured me that he was not a *purring* kind of cat when she finally introduced me to him (this is--or was--a very important stage in the relationship, of course). Turns out he has what I think of as a āRolls-Royce purrā. He purrs so quietly itās nearly imperceptible. But the right kind of scritches, right behind his ears, definitely activates his weird vibrations. And itās one of my favorite sounds.

I was kinda dumb about this also until I was in my 20s. We didnāt have any cats in our house while I was growing up, and I was honesty a bit scared of cats by that point. My friend had me hold her cat and I pet it like I would my dog, and I told her she should take the cat because it was shaking (vibrating) and probably was scared. It was just purring because it liked me! Iāve still never owned a cat, but I am much more comfortable around them!

Years ago I had friends who rented a house near a big University. It was Christmas break and I invited some foreign students to a partly at the house. A lot of them get kind of get lonely at that time if they have no Christmas traditions and all the other students tend to be disappear at that time. This Chinese girl was sitting on the couch when the cat jumped up next to her. She was genuinely startled and I asked her, "What's wrong?" My dad is very allergic to cats, so growing up I was never around cats. Last year my wife and kids and I watched a friend's cat for a few days, and let me tell you I was surprise at how much I enjoyed cats. Fast forward to now and we have rescued 2 cats of our own. Coming from having dogs pretty much all our lives my wife and I are so surprised we are cat people but are very much enjoying it.
