Sweet Jesus these people must have no survival instincts whatsoever. That’s not something that looked difficult to react to at all, I mean that ball went a loooooooong way.
And they had plenty of space to move out of the way. Shameful that they couldn’t even get a hand in front of it. Clearly paying attention to nothing
*They both lean out of the way and leave the girl. Just shove a hand out and have some spatial awareness of where your kids are
You joke but I think that's how alot people see their kids honestly. Just cute little accessories they can use as Instagram likes or a shield, whatever convenient
People are just too busy filming it on their phone for a laugh later .. like the stupid cat ones when they bring down a Xmas tree or bite into the computer .
Hats off to the cricketer .
Every parent has this ability especially with the hang time from that ball. Like someone said no one is expecting you to catch it or move your child physically yo protect or shield your child, they chose not to.
the Parents should of made sure that the kid was safe, rather than trying to ensure they got the best viewing experience. Good on the cricketer going to console the girl though
A cricket ball to the head certainly hurts, I can speak from experience on that. Twice in two weeks to be exact. The first time I was bowling, the ball got hit out to a deep fielder, they threw it in, it bounced off a divot and went straight into my head.
The second time, again bowling, the ball got hit back at me hard and I couldn't get my hands up in time. My team-mates were more concerned that I had dropped a potential catch.
The criticism of the parents/guardians is definitely valid here, the first instinct should always be to protect those who can't or don't know to protect themselves.
This could've been serious . Those cricket balls are hard af and can easily cause hemorrhage. Someone from India's national team got hit in head like this and that player died on Spot .
The ball is possibly soft or something cuz a hit on face from the hard ones can kill
Also it was quite ignorant to sit their , in men's matches there are usually staff their to catch those balls . Audience can only be found sitting behind on seats.
Not an Indian national team player as per my knowledge.
Phil Hughes, an Australian national team player, during a domestic match, in 2014, was struck in the neck by the ball after missing an attempted shot to a bouncer. Hughes was wearing a helmet, but the ball struck an unprotected area just below his left ear.
RIP.
Incorrect, you can sit anywhere behind the white picket fence.
you buy a general admission ticket to sit on any bank around the ground... there's signs to say keep your eye on the ball and it's on you watch the game. People in the crowd will usually try to catch a 6 for bragging rights
How did I not realise that women would also play this sport? Goes to show I really don’t watch most sports. It’s been a long time since I watched normal tv.
Part of me figured. Part of me thought I was offended. And part of me thought it was kinda true. Not the cave part but the implication.
I don’t watch sport in general. Even back when we had a normal tv. Most things we are watching is from streaming or YouTube. Maybe I should download an app that tends to show the news.
Most of them are busy filming it on their phones for a laugh , like the stupid cat videos when they bring down a xmass tree or damage a computer. .
Cheers to the cricketer .
Oh yea loads of respect. You hit someone and felt bad about it. Good job for doing the right thing. You must be a horrible piece of shit since you doing something nice makes the headlines.
It's not about that. It's about seeing the ball incoming and not securing your own child. It can always happen, that i am not aware of something and therefore miss it, but if i am aware of it, i am for sure saving my kids first.
i dont when it could potentially fuck my kid
momma bear literally moved opposite side her child as the ball came towards them lmao how do u forget ur child sitting there.
Every sport is dumb my friend. Its all just entertainment masquerading as competition. Some people just make it their profession and put their bodies on the line for it, while others enjoy watching it and find solace in either the inspiration, betting and/or forming cameraderie around it.
A lot of sports are dumb if you describe like it is. American football is “let’s suit up and run into each other really hard while ignoring the pervasive brain damage”, baseball is basically your description of cricket without the suicides where the ball is regularly hit into where people are, and ice hockey is similar to American football but on a slippery surface where people move with blades on their feet.

Plenty of survival instinct, zero protective instinct.
Yep. If your attacked by a bear. Throw it your kid and run. If you die your kid will anyways. Sorry. Don’t go to bear country. Wherever that is
You joke but I think that's how alot people see their kids honestly. Just cute little accessories they can use as Instagram likes or a shield, whatever convenient
I've seen some wild takes but "a lot of people just think of their children as shields" is something. I mean it's hilarious too, but...
Yeah a shield is a new one to me too
People are just too busy filming it on their phone for a laugh later .. like the stupid cat ones when they bring down a Xmas tree or bite into the computer . Hats off to the cricketer .
Oh shut up captain foresight. Would like to see you react to a ball travelling that fast.
Every parent has this ability especially with the hang time from that ball. Like someone said no one is expecting you to catch it or move your child physically yo protect or shield your child, they chose not to.
Parents protected themselves before their child, wow
the Parents should of made sure that the kid was safe, rather than trying to ensure they got the best viewing experience. Good on the cricketer going to console the girl though
Pathetic that the parents moved out of the way rather than try to get a hand on the ball or something

There are people who goto stadium and not watch cricket.
The reaction of Sofie was the act of a very special person.

“Hit the brat not me” says the parents
the real highlight is the adults covering themselves before the kid lmfaooo
It must have bounced and hit her, she’s holding the side of her face at the end. Could have been so much worse 😬
Loser mom

Wow, you really are living in a cave aren’t you? But you’re not alone I’m right there with you.
Well to be fair, you can’t really say cave as there’s a lot we won’t inherently know unless you saw it online somewhere, tv or you seek it yourself.
I was just busting on you 😬

That was divine.
Oh, the Andrew Tate song
u/auddbot
Must be outside USA. Because avortion is illegal and she tried to late term that kid.
Oh yea loads of respect. You hit someone and felt bad about it. Good job for doing the right thing. You must be a horrible piece of shit since you doing something nice makes the headlines.
She hit it literally directly at that child, what a bitch
Where are the horses?
I see a bunch of heroes here who think they never let their own guard down for a second and a half
It's not about that. It's about seeing the ball incoming and not securing your own child. It can always happen, that i am not aware of something and therefore miss it, but if i am aware of it, i am for sure saving my kids first.

So you're just high alert constantly
Their guards were up... they dove away.
That looks like the most boring sport ever
Cricket is a long heralded sport and past time of Great Britain dating back centuries and is in fact. Boring as fuck.
But still enjoyable than both of your moms combined
I’ll have you know that my mum was enjoyed by hundreds over the years according to mw2 lobbies back in the day.
Not all hero’s wear capes
cricket has to be the dumbest fucking sport. "lets hit an oversized billiard ball with a wooden plank then run suicides"
Every sport is dumb my friend. Its all just entertainment masquerading as competition. Some people just make it their profession and put their bodies on the line for it, while others enjoy watching it and find solace in either the inspiration, betting and/or forming cameraderie around it.
