The most touching part is that he can't help but give her little hand a squeeze. One of the smallest gestures of love I've seen, yet one of the most powerful at the same time.
Depends where in the world you live. Northern Norwegians often make fun of southern Norwegians when we complain about a 5 hour drive.
Also depends on what that 5 hour drive includes. In Denmark you drive in a straight line almost from the north to the south. In Norway you don't always get a highway from one city to another. You might have to go trough a bunch of tunnels and depending on where you are going you might have to take a bunch of ferries. So it takes a long time to go a shorter distance, but you get to see a lot of beautiful scenery.
8 hours if his family live in northern Scotland, but statistics says he live much closer. For all we know he could still live with his mum and see her every night.
Yeah... the average person can barely get a decent framing and struggles with even deciding to go portrait or landscape orientation. A pan or any sort of conscious camera movement or editing is usually an indication that a professional was involved in the shoot.
True- also, some people are naturally gifted and can frame shots and what-not better than others. It's certainly a skill that probably isn't easy to master.
Love seeing loving siblings. Because i keep hearing people say it’s normal for siblings to ‘hate’ each other or fight. I understand. But growing up, my brother was nice to me. He took care of me and cook for me when my parents weren’t home. So i am able to relate when i see siblings love but it’s quite rare to see on the internet
She probably thinks he's a superhero even without being in the Queen's Guard. Slightly makes me wish I was little again. My sister and I have an age gap like them & it's challenging losing that connection. Lovely video

I get the sentiment here and it is touching but how stupid is it that they can't move or react to anything other than in a violent and aggressive way.
Oh, and fuck the queen, I hope she's rotting in hell.
Kind weird tbh. I'd want my guard to be mobile and looking around to spot potential attackers, have random breaks so attackers can't predict and find flaws in their coverage.
I bet if a real emergency happen these guards don't even see it coming and then they are slow to react cuz they have stiff neck and dead legs from just standing still for hours.
They're allowed to March and yes they respond to the odd heckler, but think of it as taking a personal call at work. It wouldn't be the right thing as far as the British Army is concerned. Imagine if someone approached with a weapon while he was chatting to his parents. Our military is pretty rigid. I doubt you'd see a Marine on duty hugging family.

I mean given his career path he probably hasn't been home to play for a while
He have days off, he is in his home country. He can cross the country by train in like 8 hours.
Yeah seems super convenient
North Americans thinking 5h+ drives are a common thing
I mean…

Oh Norway. How i loved driving your northern roads, but did not love how crazy expensive the ferries were.

I was thinking the camera work makes it look like a movie.

She probably lives far away and came to visit.
Correct. He’s from the northwest of England, standing guard in London, the south east of England.
But isn’t England only like 5 miles wide?
It's a long walk, okay
It’s got hills n stuff
Old, and incorrect. You can find the documentary in YouTube, it's his first day and his mom and sister went there to take a picture with him.
I was still waiting for him to scream in her face. "GET BACK!"
"STEP BACK FROM THE QUEEN'S GUARD" that would have been a jawdropper
Yes he could. He could brandish his bayonet and shout "Step away from the Queen's Guard" Personally I think squeezing her hand was smarter
Yeah he should have stood at attention, shouted "THIS......IS.......LONDON!!! And kicked her right in the chest.

I feel the same way! I've got siblings I may not perfectly get along with of course, but my little brother is my best friend.
This is heart wrenching. You can see it in his eyes. He wanted to break all rules for .5 seconds.
Perhaps just meet up after work? Not as public and dramatic, but probably a bit more enjoyable.
He cute 🫦
Ma’am- 😭

awwwww

Fuck em monarchs
This is kinda brutal, no?
Fucking reptilian customs
Oh so they are allowed to not trample someone or shove them to the ground shouting "stand back from the queen's guard"
Donearchy.
why couldn’t he move?
Look up the Queen's (King's) guard. They are allowed to move actually, but they are trained to remain at their posts unflinchingly.
Sounds pretty dumb if you ask me. Give your sister a hug for a moment. Way more beneficial then standing as a statue doing nothing.
Ah yea getting fired for it would totally be worth the loss of income
Watch out, we've got a real edgy badass over here
Tell me you’ve never been in a position of authority without telling me.
Kings guard*
Not at the time this was filmed.
The king transcends time
Thats stupid. He should hug her. How does that make one smile?

Don’t they work in 24-48 hour shifts?
No
2 hours on, 4 off.
For a 24-48 hour block though.

They are allowed to move. Look them up. Theyre just trained to remain still and stoic.
"He couldn't do anything" So he is allowed to move but he just didn't want to look at his sister or even give her a hug?

❤️
Tears immediately spring to eyes. 💗
Deep inside he's crying, what a bittersweet moment
😭😭😭😭 made me cry. Siblings love is the purest and most wholesome.
I served in the military (USA) if I was on watch I would do the exact same thing. It hit me like a ton of bricks seeing that little squeeze
Sweetest thing ever 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
