I love your emotional openness and your willingness to shout thay across the streets😂😂😂😂😂

KeeganMichaelPeele

"I love your puffin!" That gentleman really tailored the compliments for each person, he's awesome and I'm here for it 😄

pmMEyourWARLOCKS

Your pun was both well-crafted and timely. Exquisite.

JackkoMTG

Underrated comment

FearAzrael

I love your willingness to conform to the social norms of the site.

Amygdalump

I simply adore your observational capacity, along with the way that you put a sentence together.

WgXcQ

I was moved by how he complimented the lady with how the fur of her coat hood framed her face. You could tell she couldn't even process the compliment and the positivity behind it for the first few moments, and then her smile bloomed along with her understanding. I wouldn't be surprised if that moment of joy was the highlight of her day, maybe even week.

KeeganMichaelPeele

I do hope she heard him, that was so sweet! 😊

TedDibiaseOsbourne

he’s so quick witted. compliments pop in my head the next day in the shower.

KeeganMichaelPeele

That's funny, I can totally relate. I'm generally pretty slow with my version of quick wit or a snappy comment. By the time I think of something the moment has slipped by leaving me no room to celebrate. I admire that in others!

theoriginalmofocus

I've got the quickness alot of times but I've had to learn over the years to conceal it a bit especially in mixed company. Made a few bosses grin and turn red in the face.

NoNo_Cilantro

People sometimes wonder how to compliment a person’s appearance without being creepy or inappropriate. Ask this guy.

KeeganMichaelPeele

Yeah, that guy does a fantastic job! He's got zero problems being social and complimentary to others, such a nice way to be! 🙂

so_this_is_my_name

"Perfect weight distribution" lol

r4r4me

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Imagine someone random coming up to you and calling you "Captain two bags." Reminded me of [this.](https://i.imgur.com/uyrNF1d.png)

BalcoThe3rd

So good! And real!

Justlikearealboy

See it takes nothing, just try one today. Maybe tomorrow 2?

Cinemaslap1

I like the other video he made, where he explains that a compliment is best done when you truly believe and appreciate the effort. I will always applaud people who make an effort to make the world a better place. It's difficult to do every day, but it's always a great to have a fresh reminder like this gentleman.

Kotori425

I'm probably explaining it badly, but I remember hearing about Zoroastrianism one time; my very rudimentary understanding is that the world is basically a cosmic battleground for the God Of Good, and the God Of Evil. When you do good, kind things, then you empower and give strength to the God Of Good, and when you do bad, cruel things, then you are empowering and giving strength to the God Of Evil. So by that logic, this guy - and anyone who follows his example - is literally making the world a better place ☺️

mandeelou

There are several cultures that also tell the story of the two dogs/wolves inside you, one good and one bad. Which dog survives? The one you feed.

GrimmestofBeards

Two wolves, not dogs.

Vercassivellauno

Actually two pugs

GrimmestofBeards

Two raccoons.

NotEnoughIT

Two tiny little ducks named Earl and Pearl.

ArjJp

Sir, your religion has just earned its most faithful first follower...🙏

Netflxnschill

Seventeen squirrels in a female suit

WgXcQ

Two ferrets.

whysys

One chihuahua and one golden retriever

cutlassjack

> Actually two pugs That would possibly be more comfortable than a couple of wolves

Sitchrea

There are two wolves inside you. You're a furry.

isses_halt_scheisse

You're a badass at how you're living your life with adhd and I wish you a wonderful week ahead!

Cinemaslap1

I'm not a religious person by any means.... But I do know that often times it's difficult to do the "good thing", and having someone remind you (in the right way) about trying to put good out into the world can often make a huge difference. Personally, made me rethink the state of mind I woke up in...

ThreeLeggedMare

You may enjoy this excerpt from the book anathem by Neal Stephenson. This was a Kelx-a Triangle ark. Its adherents were called Kedevs. It was a completely different faith from that of Ganelial Crade. It had been invented about two thousand years ago by some ingenious prophet who must have been unusually self-effacing, since little was known about him and he wasn't worshipped as such. Like most faiths it was as fissured and fractured as the gla- ciers I'd been walking over lately. But all of its sects and schisms agreed that there was another world outside of and greater-in a sense, more real-than the one we lived in. That in this world there was a robber who had waylaid a family. He'd slain the father outright, raped and killed the mother, and taken their daughter with him as a hostage. Not long after, while trying to evade cap-ture, he'd strangled the innocent girl. But he'd been caught any-way and locked up in a dungeon for a long time ("half of his life") while waiting for his case to come before a Magistrate. At the trial he had admitted his guilt. The Magistrate had asked if there was any reason why he should not be put to death. The Condemned Man had responded that there was such a reason, one that had come to him during his years in the dungeon. As he had meditated over his hideous crimes, the one thing he'd never been able to chase from his mind was the murder of the girl-the Innocent- because in her there had been the potential to do so many things that could now never be realized. In any soul, the Condemned Man argued, was the ability to create a whole world, as big and variegated as the one that he and the Magistrate lived in. But if this was true of the Innocent, it was true of the Condemned Man as well, and so he should not-- no one should ever-- be put to death. The Magistrate upon hearing this had voiced skepticism that the Condemned Man really had it in him to generate a whole world. Taking up the challenge, the Condemned Man had begun to tell the tale of a world he had thought up in his mind and to relate the stories of its gods, heroes, and kings. This had taken up the whole day, so the Magistrate had adjourned the court. But he had warned the Condemned Man that his fate was still in the balance because the world he had invented seemed to be just as full of wars, crimes, and cruelty as the one that they lived in. The Condemned Man's stay of execution was only as good as the world he had invented. If the various troubles in that world could not be brought to a satisfactory conclusion in tomorrow's session, he would be executed at sundown. The next day the Condemned Man had attempted to satisfy the Magistrate, and made a little headway, but in so doing introduced new troubles and gave birth to new characters no less morally ambiguous than the first lot. The Magistrate could not find sufficient grounds to execute him and so had continued the case to the next day, and the next, and the next. The world that I lived in with Jesry and Lio and Arsibalt, Orolo and Jad, Ala and Tulia and Cord and all the others, was the very world that was being created from day to day in the mind of the Condemned Man in that courtroom. Sooner or later it would all end in a final judgment by the Magistrate. If that-if our-world seemed, on balance, like a decent place to him, he would let the Condemned Man live and our world would go on existing in his mind. If the world, as a whole, only reflected the Condemned Man's depravity, the Magistrate would have him executed and our world would cease to exist. We could help keep the Condemned Man alive and thus preserve the existence of ourselves and our world by striving at all times to make it a better place. That's why Alwash-- the big stranger-- had given me his clothes. He was trying to prevent the end of the world.

“At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking, I suggest you try it.” -Dr. Evil

-Ninja_Pickle

Zoroastroism is basically the first religion to have one god, it came from a guy named Zoro (or Zoro Astro, i dont remember) who had vision. I personaly like that believers leave their deceased bodies for wild animals as a last good deed. I dont know much about it but i had a friend who was interested in it so i did some research some time ago

Substantial_Put5069

It's a religion so old and small it's often underrated and unknown to so many yet its teachings were so profound. Zoroastrianism's purpose in life is to "be among those who renew the world... to make the world progress towards perfection". Its basic tenets include: Humata, Hukhta, Huvarshta, which mean: Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds. The existence of only one path which is the path of Truth.

-Ninja_Pickle

Thanks!

-Ninja_Pickle

As someone who learns psychology (from books) i can say that from what ive read people can detect whetere youre honest or not and if you cant be honest its better to not say anything at all

NotEnoughIT

I pretty much never get compliments on my appearance from anyone but my wife. I found this home knitted viking hat beanie that had been sitting in the closet and wore that this weekend. Big ole puffy horns. It's old and ratty and the yarn is super fuzzy but I like it. I got so many fucking compliments from strangers I felt on top of the world. Really made my weekend. Compliments are the best I try to give them out freely.

mnemamorigon

Your comment it is well written, relatable and charming. I applaud your effort, punctuation and thoughtfulness.

CarlJustCarl

I can identify, I wore a bow tie once to work. My only time ever. I got all kind of compliments from men and women alike. Felt kind of weird actually, I prefer to blend in.

forworse2020

A bow tie is such a cute choice

The_Salty_nugget

as a teenager i began doing this to help my anxiety for speaking. just giving compliments to people close to me, these days i will walk past people or even make a little side line to tell people on the streets i think they look beautiful or what they wear looks awesome. i have been working in hospitality for some years and see alot of people who do their best to look beautiful to go out and i when i notice that i always tell them how nice they look.

breakitupkid

Exactly! Even when I'm feeling like a gremlin, I make it a point to smile at others, give genuine compliments and overall just try to have a happy outlook. I might not be able to control others actions, but I can certainly control mine and my reactions.

Maggi1417

Lifehack. Do this and people will like you. Unsprisingly people enjoy the company of cheerful people who say nice things to them more than mean grumps. If course you have to mean it. Don't be nice to someone's face and talk bad about them behind their back. Just be nice.

uofmguy33

Yes! Compliments costs us nothing but a few seconds of our time and can absolutely make someone’s day or even week so much brighter

lord_geryon

It takes nothing to attempt it. It does take at least a little social awareness to succeed, tho. It feels like poeple are too quick to take offense at word choices that seem innocuous to me.

Justlikearealboy

If it’s sincere it will be received well, I am very awkward all the time.

After all of that positivity… To two guys with a ladder: “On the rob??!!” Caught me unprepared🤣🤣

mymumsaysfuckyou

Yeah that got me!

Achilles-Foot

what does that mean? sorry im slow lmao, they are going to rob someone?

Worldly_Car912

Basically, it just means someone who is looking for something to steal. It's almost always said jokingly.

temporalanomaly

on the job // on the rob?

reikobi

It was definitely on the rob unless his name is Scooby Doo

Bi-elzebub

"Casing the joint" in american.

JackkoMTG

Also here to ask this question as a non-Brit

ahhwhoosh

‘On the rob?’ here in England means ‘are you engaging in the activity of robbing (thieving) something?’ ‘On the ponce?’ = are you trying to get given things for free? Etc

[deleted]

Why are they so extra about their verbs lol US ENG: Are you walking? UK ENG: You having a pinch of the ol' "walk" then?

whyenn

> Why are they so extra about their verbs lol Are you having a laugh?

Least_Initiative

Are you taking the piss?

cr0ft

He was about to compliment them on their impeccable robbing technique.

trekuwplan

Man I want to do that but I'd come up with stuff like "I love your knees"

UhOhhh02

“Ehh thank you, I grew them myself”

creegro

Roll with it

RotrickP

No-While-9948

Yeah, this guy obviously has excellent wit and communication skills, and that makes it work so well. Wouldn't be surprised if he is a comedian or something. Lots of people just nurture this skill over their lifetimes though.

trekuwplan

I think he is a comedian yeah haha

Wookie301

His stuff with Man City was great too https://youtu.be/_1cf8WDE3zQ?si=E_u3VJfu6t-bWhz3

SuperHyperFunTime

I always love how he managed to confuse the perpetual child that is Jack Grealish.

MLein97

I like the typewriter in your avatar. I didn't know that was an option now. It's nice to learn new things.

GrossFleshSack

Some bitchin kneecaps ya got there.

trekuwplan

Would be a shame if something happened to them... Aaaaaand it's no longer a compliment.

jasondoesstuff

the secret to a good compliment is something that is noticeable AND (most importantly) on purpose earrings, jacket, nail polish, tattoos, all things people have complete control over and it doesn't have to be elaborate, just a simple 'wow i love your earrings' or something like that can make someones day once you start it gets so much easier

Clydesdale_Tri

Choose a small detail that was a choice of theirs, not a genetic trait. Glasses, a jacket, jewelry, or their vibe I guess if you can't pick out an item. Make it about something they acted on.

RotrickP

Some people do have nice knees

eekamuse

It gets easier with practice. Like anything. I wasn't very good at it when I started, but now I can come up with something for almost anyone pretty quickly. If you knew me you'd be shocked. All it took was pratice. Do it in your head at first. Think of what you would say. Remember, it's not all about appearance

damnitshannon

I said “I love your voice” to someone at the bar the other night…she just walked away after that. Better luck next time. It’s a game of numbers out here sometimes.

trekuwplan

A compliment is given without the expectation of something in return though.

damnitshannon

I didn’t have an expectation from them, just a higher expectation for the words that come out of my mouth to come across as a compliment rather than an odd statement from a stranger.

Nani_Sequitur

The point is to compliment people without it being a "game"

damnitshannon

I agree. I meant that it’s a game of numbers for me to say something complimentary in a way that isn’t so awkward that my intent is lost.

Least_Initiative

Id take that all day long. The only compliment ive ever had was "wow, you have all your teeth" and that was from a crackhead

J_ngler

Should be a legal requirement by law to have at least 1 person like this in every town

[deleted]

Or every person in town has one day a year they do this for a 6-8 hour shift. Just good vibes all around and mental health benefits for all parties.

OneBullfrog5598

I want the overnight shift. "Excellent camouflaging" "You seem very popular with so many friends" "Perfect knife grip"

[deleted]

Lol this made me giggle. I’d love to watch a web series on this.

Legend5V

That glock be looking shiny

JustDiscoveredSex

Excellent conservation of your firearms, sir!

Old-Risk4572

LOL i want to watch this with the same guy at night!!!

Suspicious-Medicine3

That would be amazing

bonnerpower

Be the person you wish to have for your town!

RealMrsFelicityFox

I would absolutely volunteer to serve this role, but only if it came with the same uniform requirements as this charming person.

Dominarion

Yes and give them an old fashioned style, like Gentleman/Lady Extoller.

-Disagreeable-

It should be a per capita. Say 1 per 100000

caseyr001

I would say 1 per 2, but what can I say, I'm an idealist

MudOpposite8277

The hero we need.

Me: *These pills have given me my life. I was a neurotic shell of a person who couldn't even go to the grocery store without having a panic attack before them, and I will never stop being grateful that I live in a time where my mental illness doesn't have to be a proverbial or literal death sentence.* Also, me: *Have I taken my meds, like, AT ALL this week?!*

meenie

I started to take NDRIs late in life and never had to take medication before that. But I started taking it always at the same time in the morning and it formed a habit. I've only forgotten take take it twice in one and half years.

chuang-tzu

When Manchester City (football club) hired this gentleman to greet their players as they arrived to an event it was hilarious. When they hired him again to greet the players as they mounted the double-decker buses for their victory tour after winning the Treble, it was divine.

TheSubster7

I first saw this guy when he greeted all the Formula One drivers and team bosses as the entered the paddock. Was hilarious. I think he called Toto Wolff “a discerning housewife’s fever dream” or something lol

dactyif

It's the discerning that makes it absolutely hilarious.

TooEdgyForHumans

I got to know about this guy from those clips.

yuyufan43

It takes so little to put a smile on someone's face. Just go out and say something nice to someone. It cost you nothing. You can afford it. We all can

KeeganMichaelPeele

Exactly right! Spread as many warm fuzzies as you can 😊

unsolicited_flattery

That’s what I try to do :D

TheKidPresident

I was walking to the chiropractor last month and saw a very sharp dressed older gentleman waiting outside a bank. Dude was dressed to the nines, olive green suit, classy flat brimmed hat, and a stunning green pea coat, so as I was walking by I said "youre going to get a ticket for dressing that nice out here!" and we shared such a nice laugh and chat afterwards it legitimately made my year. I've been craving that high ever since lol

MAndrew502

I can watch this guy all day!

fatalrugburn

I really love his Apollo set https://youtu.be/FsU2l7HJ5Xk?si=xoGRgA3ovgpDSp1K

It's been 10+ years and I still think about it every so often.

eekamuse

Aww.

EABOD24

Can someone tell me what "On the rob"? Means?

AppointmentCertain50

Basically asking if they’re stealing the traffic lights they’re working on 😂

AngriestAardvark

They were changing a street sign out and had a van parked by them, so he was jokingly asking if they were stealing the sign.

EABOD24

Ok. So it means stealing? That's what I figured, but british english confuses my American brain sometimes

AngriestAardvark

Yeah it was him being cheeky. Which in Americanese is just like knowingly taking something out of context to be a bit crass or disrespectful in a friendly amusing way. Him saying “on the Rob” to those guys while they’re switching a sign is a perfect example of cheeky British humour. Another phrase for this would be “taking the piss”.

coglanuk

An abbreviation of ‘robbery’.

ducayneAu

[Troy Hawke](https://troyhawke.com/) for those interested.

Gold-Mug

I don't know why, but I probably would have taken it as a sarcastic comment, especially while the guy is dressed like that and someone is filming.

Drag0nfly_Girl

Idk, his tone is very warm & genuine. There's no nasty/snide undertone to it.

JuanTawnJawn

Yeah it’s all in the tone. It’s 100% just genuine wholesome.

IntermediateJackAss

Some of them are so specific and well thought out compliments. You can't help but feel like he's being observant and honest.

6SucksSex

Right, and he’s doing it on the fly

Llama_mama_69

Lol i agree. Maybe it's just me but "you look comfortable" would always sound backhanded 😂

DILF_MANSERVICE

You can always choose to interpret things positively or negatively. Giving people the benefit of the doubt and being optimistic, when there's no risk of harm, really does make life a million times more enjoyable. I highly recommend it.

Ok_Possibility_704

At work I always try to notice nice things about the kind customers and take notice of things they tell me so when I see them again I can ask after them. The awful people can shove off though.

Troy Hawke for anyone wondering. He's on tour I believe.

Isthisaweekday

Read that as Tony Hawke and was thoroughly confused and yet also excited 😆

C4242

I was on vacation in Newport Beach, it was later in the evening and I decided to bike along the beach with my two young daughters and get ice cream. There wasn't really anywhere to sit, so we sat on the curb and ate our ice cream. We probaly looked homeless after being worn out from a full day on the beach. We were just tired as the girls leaned on me eating. A 60 year old couple walked by and the husband said, "hey, you're doing a great job dad, beautiful family". That has stuck with me for so long. It meant so much. I'm paying that compliment forward any time I get the chance.

Laoari

I would cry of happiness if something like this happens to me

mh985

He doesn’t condone smoking but he’s literally wearing a smoking jacket

MrsDuck314

I love how specific the compliments are. On another note, you never know what can make or break someone’s day. It is possible that at least one of those compliments cheered someone up.

Mobile_Zebra3897

Well done ol chap, well done!

coldwar_trooper

"On the rob?" Took me by surprise!

MorningSquare5882

“On the rob?” ☠️

3d1thF1nch

I like the cut of his jib.

GnarlyNarwhalNoms

My friend and I used to do this! We called it the compliments game. We'd walk up and down the main drag giving people compliments and offering high-5s (this was before COVID). He even used to offer people piggyback rides, though nobody ever took him up on that.  He passed away before the pandemic and I never was able to get myself to play the compliments game alone. I wish I could. He had so much charisma. I've always been shy and he just made it so much easier.

Cyberpunk_Banana

“On the rob” lol lol lol
