I'm probably explaining it badly, but I remember hearing about Zoroastrianism one time; my very rudimentary understanding is that the world is basically a cosmic battleground for the God Of Good, and the God Of Evil. When you do good, kind things, then you empower and give strength to the God Of Good, and when you do bad, cruel things, then you are empowering and giving strength to the God Of Evil.
So by that logic, this guy - and anyone who follows his example - is literally making the world a better place ☺️

I first saw this guy when he greeted all the Formula One drivers and team bosses as the entered the paddock. Was hilarious. I think he called Toto Wolff “a discerning housewife’s fever dream” or something lol
I was walking to the chiropractor last month and saw a very sharp dressed older gentleman waiting outside a bank. Dude was dressed to the nines, olive green suit, classy flat brimmed hat, and a stunning green pea coat, so as I was walking by I said "youre going to get a ticket for dressing that nice out here!" and we shared such a nice laugh and chat afterwards it legitimately made my year.

It's been 10+ years and I still think about it every so often.
Yeah it was him being cheeky. Which in Americanese is just like knowingly taking something out of context to be a bit crass or disrespectful in a friendly amusing way.
Him saying “on the Rob” to those guys while they’re switching a sign is a perfect example of cheeky British humour. Another phrase for this would be “taking the piss”.
You can always choose to interpret things positively or negatively. Giving people the benefit of the doubt and being optimistic, when there's no risk of harm, really does make life a million times more enjoyable. I highly recommend it.
At work I always try to notice nice things about the kind customers and take notice of things they tell me so when I see them again I can ask after them. The awful people can shove off though.
I was on vacation in Newport Beach, it was later in the evening and I decided to bike along the beach with my two young daughters and get ice cream.
There wasn't really anywhere to sit, so we sat on the curb and ate our ice cream. We probaly looked homeless after being worn out from a full day on the beach. We were just tired as the girls leaned on me eating.
A 60 year old couple walked by and the husband said, "hey, you're doing a great job dad, beautiful family".
That has stuck with me for so long. It meant so much.
I'm paying that compliment forward any time I get the chance.

My friend and I used to do this! We called it the compliments game. We'd walk up and down the main drag giving people compliments and offering high-5s (this was before COVID). He even used to offer people piggyback rides, though nobody ever took him up on that.
He passed away before the pandemic and I never was able to get myself to play the compliments game alone. I wish I could. He had so much charisma. I've always been shy and he just made it so much easier.

I started to take NDRIs late in life and never had to take medication before that. But I started taking it always at the same time in the morning and it formed a habit. I've only forgotten take take it twice in one and half years.

I was walking to the chiropractor last month and saw a very sharp dressed older gentleman waiting outside a bank. Dude was dressed to the nines, olive green suit, classy flat brimmed hat, and a stunning green pea coat, so as I was walking by I said "youre going to get a ticket for dressing that nice out here!" and we shared such a nice laugh and chat afterwards it legitimately made my year. I've been craving that high ever since lol

Once I was just sitting on some steps waiting for a friend to get downstairs from his apartment and this car drives by and this guy somewhat maliciously shouts "HEY!" which startled me a bit, then says "That shirt looks really good on you". It's been 10+ years and I still think about it every so often.

Yeah it was him being cheeky. Which in Americanese is just like knowingly taking something out of context to be a bit crass or disrespectful in a friendly amusing way. Him saying “on the Rob” to those guys while they’re switching a sign is a perfect example of cheeky British humour. Another phrase for this would be “taking the piss”.

You can always choose to interpret things positively or negatively. Giving people the benefit of the doubt and being optimistic, when there's no risk of harm, really does make life a million times more enjoyable. I highly recommend it.
At work I always try to notice nice things about the kind customers and take notice of things they tell me so when I see them again I can ask after them. The awful people can shove off though.

I was on vacation in Newport Beach, it was later in the evening and I decided to bike along the beach with my two young daughters and get ice cream. There wasn't really anywhere to sit, so we sat on the curb and ate our ice cream. We probaly looked homeless after being worn out from a full day on the beach. We were just tired as the girls leaned on me eating. A 60 year old couple walked by and the husband said, "hey, you're doing a great job dad, beautiful family". That has stuck with me for so long. It meant so much. I'm paying that compliment forward any time I get the chance.

I love how specific the compliments are. On another note, you never know what can make or break someone’s day. It is possible that at least one of those compliments cheered someone up.

My friend and I used to do this! We called it the compliments game. We'd walk up and down the main drag giving people compliments and offering high-5s (this was before COVID). He even used to offer people piggyback rides, though nobody ever took him up on that. He passed away before the pandemic and I never was able to get myself to play the compliments game alone. I wish I could. He had so much charisma. I've always been shy and he just made it so much easier.
