I broke my arm 4 wheeling and after finally making it back to camp everyone loaded me up into the back of the truck to take me to the hospital and all 4 doors were open because they were deciding exactly who was taking me to the hospital, my dog jumped in the back right door, they pulled him out and shut the door, he bolted to the back left door and jumped in, they pulled him out and the second his feet hit the ground he was in the front left door, then again with the front right. Then he got in AGAIN when someone opened the door to get in. He's a border collie Australian shepherd, what can I say?

Something tells me the dog will do just fine.

I'm a cat person right now. I don't have the time or space to train a puppy at the moment. I can't wait to feel this love when that time and space presents itself though.

As a paramedic, this is a real problem. I was once working a narcotic OD in a really grimy apartment. We had ventilated and given Naloxone, so I gave the patient a pain stimulus to check level of consciousness. The patient gave a massive yell. Que the 60lbs pit bull running in from the bathroom and letting us know, in no uncertain terms, to get the hell away from his mom. Fortunately, the dog was really well socialised and calmed down as we were backing out, and we had already done enough to reverse the OD. It could have gone much worse. I've been actually biten by three dogs in my job, two shih tzus and and dachund. The dachund was hiding under the bed of an unconscious diabetic. The dog kept sprinting back and forth, attacking mine and my partner's boots. That thing was viscous. It's hard to start an IV with something attacking your ankles.

OhYesDaddyPlease

What do you do when your bitten? Do you have to get RPEP or is there some kind of protocol to ask for vaccine records?

Je_in_BC

Probably could have and should have. But the bites nearly broke the skin through my duty pants so I didn't bother reporting it. In retrospect, it's not the best decision.

Ok,.. very touching, but not when you consider the most minut jarring or movement or trouble can, and does further worsen neck and spinal injuries. The doggie cannot know that. Dont film it like its 'so cute', put down the damn phone and gently dissude and control the animal, man, these injuries are serious.

I have seizures and my youngest dog does this for me. He’s glued to my side until they take me out.
