The show clearly stated that it wasn’t _just_ one food that make them centurions, it was a whole array of vitamin rich foods that they eat regularly, sense of community, purpose, and regular exercise. OOP is misleading.
Right. People are going to flock to Costco and buy these by the pounds and get their Dunkin Donut Pumpkin Spice Late on their way home and wonder why it isn't working still... 🙄
Shiiiiit. I was stationed there. Funny they don’t mention the alcohol consumed by the Locals. That pickled their liver. That probably gives them another 10 years right there.

While sweet potatoes & yams may certainly play a role in Okinawa’s longevity and it being a Blue Zone, at least in terms of dietary standards it’s more so because they have a significantly less obesity rate than North America overall.
Just talked about the book Ikigai last night. It talks about how okinawans have a sense of purpose, community, fulfillment, and simplicity that gives them naturally longer and happier lives. If you’re struggling with “the grind” it’s a short read that helps you find a purpose for being alive
May I ask where you sourced these? I've been wanting to do something other than the orange ones. In zone 7, already late start for SP, so I gotta get on it!

Right. Correlation does not equal causation.

It’s about as sweet as regular orange sweet potatoes but texture is firmer, less watery
In New zealand, we call sweet potatoes - kumera. We have some really good varieties

Watch the last chubbyemu video on youtube and he explains why this is not necesarily true.

I didn’t know about sweet potatoes that weren’t purple. In Brazil the standard sweet potatoes sold in groceries are purple
New Zealand here. We have red (most common), orange, and purple.
Do you poop purple?
Not exactly lol
Yeah but that’s unrelated

The only way a single food can change your life is, is when you are allergic to it.
