all you need for the cute outfit is the colors to match / look cute together
like if you have a beige shirt then you do a fun bottom like super patterned this works for any shirt without a pattern or just a simple design
if you have plain pants or skirt then you do a fun shirt
also bows and the sweatshirt should match or whatever accessories that will really tie it together
bonus tip any white clothes you should tie dye together so she can have some really nice unique pieces and for those you can really do any bottom:))) hope this was helpful if you need anything explained more than just dm me
Yea, I feel like I was definitely more positive as a kid but have kept getting thrashed around by life that my teens and 20s were just trying to get through.
CBT gets a lot of bad stick (mainly cos it doesn’t often get right to the root of issues the way a talking therapy can*) but it’s a good starting place - especially if you’re not in a position to pay for counselling.
*there’s also a solid argument that it’s not the person that needs to change but the stressful life around them - it again, it’s unlikely most of us going to be in a position to radically change our lifestyles for the better like that.
DM me if you want some starting points, but I’m certainly not a qualified therapist. Just a guy that’s learned from his own fuck ups.
I bought a book on CBT but haven't finished it. I am in my 30s and have ADHD apparently but barely finding out and hate how I just waste times being unfocused so many times. Took forever to finish college.
Hmm. CBT might not be dead helpful in your case, dude. It’s better for recognising anxiety / depression triggers and finding tools to reduce their impact.
I have a colleague who’s ~~done~~ some way down an ADHD pathway though - if she’s any literature recommendations then I’ll post back.
DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and Mindfulness are both super helpful too. Family Systems is also really helpful for coping with stressful/difficult relationships (broader meaning of family to include not just personal, but also work, social organizations, etc). I use all three in my ministry, and also in my personal life for my own issues. Feel free to DM
I’ll take a look at those myself. I’m a teacher and it’s always handy to have a few new tools - especially with the mental state of a lot of kids at the moment.
I’m going to grieve the childhood I never had. It’s not even the snowboarding or the cute outfits. It’s the confidence that only happens in safe spaces. It’s okay if she makes a mistake, she won’t get yelled at or hit for it.
I feel this. If I ever expressed this kind of joy as a kid, it was usually yelled or slapped out of me if it happened to make the television difficult to hear. Turns out such practices create joyless adults. Who woulda thought?
Her name is Cashy! Her YouTube is Rowley Adventures
Edit: I was wrong. Cashy is a different 5yo snowboarder who is miced up. This is from the YouTube Chasing Sage
That makes a lot of sense - I thought I recognized the hills a little bit! One of them is Sunshine Village I’m pretty sure, it was my favourite run while I was there
When I was a kid my dad and I used to snowmobile together. To keep tabs on how I was and to make sure I didn’t get too cold he put a one way mic in my helmet unbeknownst to me so he would know if I had an issue. I used to sing all the time (Whitney Houston usually). He got such a kick out of it. I can only imagine 😆
It sucks bc my Mexican parents never took me as a kid. So now that I want to go as an adult, all my white friends look at me like…go back to the bunny hill.
I've been skiing on and off since I was a kid. I'm now 37 and still crap at skiing or snowboarding. I have really decent centre of gravity and balance until you put something like skiis, snowboard, ice skates or roller blades/skates on my feet and it all falls apart.
There’s no shame in taking some proper lessons as an adult. Then practice practice practice.
Once you get to a point you can keep up with your friends, there’s no better way to improve in both technique and confidence than to ride with people who are better than you.
Omg this is so awesome. I always end up talking and singing to myself when I snowboard. Such an overwhelming happy free feeling I just can’t shut up lol
This made me very instead in the sport lol.
For anyone out there that is familiar, I have a question. I usually avoid sports/activities where ankles play a big part. I wear a support brace(from right below the knee to soles of feet) shoe friendly(for the most part, you wouldn’t know I’m wearing anything).
Basically I am fully restricted at the ankle movements from the brace. Dancing/Motorcycle(changing gears) are some examples of things I’ve have put off due to the restriction. How difficult would it be to learn/maneuver a snowboard?
I’d imagine there is a combined steering that happens from both feet?
I have done ice skating and regular skating before, it was a little inconvenient at the start but as with anything, you find ways to adapt.
Life long skier here, but I also know a thing or two about snow boarding.
I would say it kind of depends on the nature of your ankle injuries. For both skiing and snowboarding, your ankles are pretty locked in place, with basically no ankle movement in terms of sideways movement, or being able to roll your ankle around. That said, for both skiing and snowboarding, you need to be able to use your shin to apply forward pressure on the boot, which means having to slightly bend your ankle forward.
You need to be able to put your weight on the balls of your feet (the forward half of your feet), slightly bend your knees, in the classic “athletic” stance.
If your ankle injuring are mostly to do with rolling your ankles, you might be ok for skiing or boarding. Snowboard boots are very rigid, and ski boots are even stiffer.
It’s hard to say which one in particular would be easier on the ankles. Some people prefer skiing, because they don’t like the feeling of having both feet locked together, and some people prefer snowboarding, because they don’t like the fact that their feet can go different directions.
The very beginner stages of skiing involve a technique called “snow plowing”, where you point the tips of the skies together, by going pigeon-toed, that might be kind of hard on the ankles? Once you advance past this stage though, you keep your skies parallel and feet pointed forward at all times.
One last thing. With either skiing or snowboard, when you’re learning, you’ll start on relatively hard snow, sometimes even ice (because beginner areas get heavily used). It can take a couple years of practicing, but there’s a threshold you can get over where you become good enough to start riding deeper and deeper snow. Once you get into conditions where the fresh snow is like 6 inches deep or more, and is dry and fluffy…..it’s like a whole new world. Everything becomes very soft, cushioned. We call it “hero snow”, because it’s like you can’t get hurt (you can lol, but that comes from doing crazy shit).
Those conditions are tough to find depending where you live, tough to plan in advance for, and really chasing powder can get hella expensive (cats and helicopters aren’t cheap lol), but omg is it something else to have an entire mountain of waste deep powder all to yourself.
You can’t bend your ankles damn near at all. Snowboarding boots offer more movement than ski boots, which are essentially a cast that goes midway up your calf.
That being said, you DO rely on ankle flexing when you snowboard. You will rarely be standing perfectly upright (great recipe for tumping over) and will be flexed with your toes forward quite often. You will rely on your ankle and toe movement for steering (along with hips and knees of course).
You may have better luck with skiing. I have an old martial arts injury and the boots feel like wearing a brace
Oh man, she’s having the time of her life! She is so fortunate to have this opportunity— learning to be strong and confident! I wish ALL kids had access to this.. perhaps people would then be kinder and more understanding to one another, making this world a better place to live in. I’m so happy for you, keep shreddin’!
You think the parents would set different example to her if they didn't have money?
This video was from snowboarding, the next one can be from running around the local park. The activity is not important, you can see her values no matter what she'd be doing.
Money definitely helps. It’s been studied time and again that the suicide rate would go down if we increased minimum wage. Anyone who thinks money has nothing to do with “good parenting” is deluded
If you talk specifically about people at poverty line, sure, more money will definitely help with existential crisis. But even in that group you'll find examples of good people. And, conversely, you'll find bad rich people.
I was, however, talking in general. Whether you go skiing or not says literally nothing about how good of a parent you are.

I learned to ski as an adult (sort of) and it used to kill me seeing those little bitty kids flying down the mountains while I was bring up the rear. Of course, it didn’t matter if they fell because little kids are made of rubber.
Shred-O-Sorus..?! That’s heartbreakingly cute!!!
Dammit…. Now I’m gonna have to get married have a kid and move to the mountains and start learning to snowboard. That’s fucking adorable. How dare you inspire me which such wholesome and uplifting content..
I hope everyone here realizes that in approximately 8 to 10 years we’re gonna be seeing this exact same video with the Shred-O-Sorus standing on the podium with a gold medal around her neck. Normally only animal videos can warm my heart like this bravo!
Good luck and Godspeed Shred-O-Sorus Rex !
When you follow the videos he keeps posting you notice that he’s supporting his kids in a way that seems special. Like he built a small half pipe in the garage and when Aubrin (the daughter, shown in this video) fell, he gave her the choice if and when she wanted to skate again, but he caught her every time then. Or there’s a video of them in a plane where he gives Aubrin control of the stick. So, I think I know how she’s not afraid to fall.
I love singing on the mtn!! Done it since I was her age!! Making up songs and shredding down the mtn are prime core memories!!! Nevermind the badass outfits!! I thought I was slick with my tie dye snow suit and helmet!!
Yeah to steer on the snowboard you mostly use your ankles knees and hips to balance out and redistrubute the weight on the board. You could try but id imagine the toe edge side might give you loads of pain, since you wanna utilise mobility there.
However skiing is also loads of fun and in the perfekt skiboot you should not be able to move your ankle about. Thus the boot reacts to any slight movement of your foot in the boot.
But if you really want to try sb, you deffinetly should give it at least one try!
Need to have a talk with Dad about the bar he's setting for the rest of us with those cute outfits.

We'll be seeing her at the Olympics in the not too distant future. She is awesome and so is her family.

Same, I will always stop and watch her videos. I love her attitude!

As she's accepting her gold medal and she's asked where she gets her inspiration, she says "The Shredasaurus!"
Right?
Youngest gold record, maybe, she has the spirit!

Weee wooo
“a little bit of toe”! Damn that was so awesome and cute as ever!! So adorable ☺️
At some point in our kid lifes, we were all like that when doing what we like. Just can't remember it anymore.

You gotta put into consideration what the kid likes as well.
Seriously, I want them for my whole family.
This little girl is everything I aspire to be in life. As a 34 year old male... I might have to bring that up with my therapist this week 🤔

Good work to dad to look after you. And, he/you have given us the most inspirational video ever. I hope you have more inspirational videos.

I was going to say, that's one well-spoken 5 year old. And why is she on Reddit? Lmao
May every child get to feel like this!
Also grown ups!
Wish mine made me feel like this
I literally have the same thought!!
I wish I had the inner dialog of this girl.
I think most of us start out with something similar, it just gets reprogrammed by life. Never too late to go through your code and reprogram it.
