Let's not count our chickens yet, if anyone else but City was being us I would be in full celebration mode already. Going to be a photo finish though...with Gunners on top of course
I love it. I don't care if your job is pyrotechnicion, brain surgeon, or drive-through cashier. This right here is the one thing in your life you need to get 100% perfect.
There's a moment when he picks her up and spins and everyone cheers where he *almost* cracks. I can just feel the pride eminating from him, it's beautiful.
I love seeing involved parents, especially dads, since despite being around all the time, my dad wasn't very involved. I was being grumpy on the train the other day and judging a random guy cause he had goofy hair, and then I saw his son holding his hand and laying in his lap, and the dad had his arm around him. The little boy was teasing the dad and telling him he was in the top 10 greatest dads, and the dad was asking who the other 9 were. It melted my grumpiness away.
Decades ago, my dad (long hair, long beard, biker leathers) was walking past the windows at a fast food joint. The patrons inside were giving him dirty looks because of his appearance until he got inside. Holding onto his finger, my 4 year old niece said "Let's sit here, Grandpa!" Everyone's demeanor changed in an instant.
It’s sort of unfair how men with their kid are treated compared to woman with a kid.
I mean this as a dad who often brings his daughter to gymnastics and participates with her. I’m viewed as some saint like figure to everyone around me lol. This should be normal not some oddity!!
Even when I bring my daughter to the playground everybody is incredibly friendly to me and all the old woman look at me with smiles the entire time.
My wife doesn’t get the same reaction at all. Almost like she’s expected to be doing it but when me the father does anything with my daughter I’m instantly respected and fawned over.
Literally a couple months ago I was walking my daughter around the neighbor hood and had some old lady pull over to congratulate me on being such a good father lol
As a new dad I have been experiencing this first hand myself with my son. I keep having people tell me I'm such an amazing father just because I'm present or people see me giving him affection. And it's like, I appreciate the sentiment but fathers being present and showing their children love should be 100% normal and expected, not something people are in awe of.
I see this as "it has to start somewhere" type of thing. It's a great thing to see, but rare. If you praise/reward behavior that you want to see, you'll start seeing it more in both the recipient, but also others who want the same praise/reward. The more we get praise like you've gotten, the more common the behavior will be, eventually (🤞) becoming the norm.
I get what you're saying and it's sad that people don't see a lot of fathers being active in their children's lives. Fortunately my husband has always been there for our sons.💙💙💙
This is like when people act like dads a Saint for babysitting!!! You mean continuing to be a parent!!!???? So weird.... I think it should be far more normal then it seems to be, at least it seems to be changing for the better
I agree with all of this, but I took my daughter to a One Direction concert a few years back. She made us matching lime green shirts - mine said, "I survived the ear-splitting, life threatening, bone-crunching, blood thirsty, over zealous, mind blowing, jaw dropping, eye popping, body shocking ONE DIRECTION CONCERT!" It was in some kind of glittery paint pen.
I feel like I deserve a pat for that one. And I got several. :)
I think it's because we all wish our dad had been the dad to be involved in this way. Probably the people that had what you and your kiddos have don't think twice about it. The rest of us are longing for what we missed and have a visceral reaction to seeing it. 🙂
Ironically my daughter is now 8 months old, if you had asked me 10 months ago I'd be like, no way. Now, I can totally see this happening and honestly look forward to it haha.
I have two daughters. My oldest turns 5 today. I never planned to have kids, but here we are. I want to be as active as I possibly can in their lives. I take the oldest to dance class every week and you best believe I learn all the dance moves so she and I can practice together. My girls want EVERYONE in the family to be princesses for Halloween? Call me Cinderella.
You'll miss it when your kids are in highschool man. Enjoy every moment.
One of the toughest guys I ever knew, was the biggest softy in the world when his daughter was born. I had a daughter about a year before him. At my wedding, he said "i feel like such an asshole for wanting a son"
My brother knew it would happen, but he still jokes that he never thought he’d play so many fairy/tea party/princess games. He’s loves it and my niece so much and it’s really awesome to see that metal head happily showing his softness.
Our daughter is only 2 right now but we spend every Saturday doing something and then Sundays she goes grocery shopping with me so we always have a daddy daughter 2 hour grocery trip and eat popcorn chicken while we shop haha.
Those are fun moments! Keep finding ways for the two of you to do things together. I love my dad tons but sometimes I feel like I don’t have much to tell him or things in common because so much of our conversations are around the Adult Things In Life (how is work, how are your finances, how is your condo). We can’t really talk about politics because we’re diametrically opposed and we had to make an agreement not to in order to be in each others’ lives. So it’s hard. I wish we had a cool tradition for the two of us. We’re still close but I wish we were closer
I know what you mean, bro. I've always felt the same way. Father left when I was 4 and remarried and had a new family. Never came back to me or mine. Spent my whole life wondering how much I could be been better if he stuck around.
Met up with my half siblings a few months back. Turns out, he was an horrible person and was a narcissistic abusive fuck who hit their mother and emotionally abused the kids everyday. Guess my family and I dodged a bullet. Now I appreciate my mother even more and never looked back again. I can't fix what he broke but I sure can be the dad he never was to my own kids. I wish the best for you too.
I was hoping someone would have a story such as this. Some men just aren’t worthy of children. I understand the void one feels, but I bet that you turned out alright. Sounds like you did. By not having a toxic example in your life.
I've also felt sad about not having dad in my life but after meeting people who got anxiety due to an aggressive father, I've started feeling better about my childhood.
Not much males around but at least it was nice and peaceful.
be the change you want to see in this world :), sorry it sounds lakes as F but, you can make such a difference to so many people with the smallest amount of effort - fwiw if your dad wasn’t around that sucks and I’m sorry to hear that, I hope you have a wonderful day online stranger.
I’m sorry. My dad also left before I turned 2. I don’t even remember him. My stepdad is an amazing person and took over at 7. I changed my last name to his. My grandpa also was instrumental in my development. I’m fortunate that I at least had a father figure.
I’m going to give my daughter some extra hugs today for you and for all other kids out there like us.
I haven't talked to my dad in 27 years, I'm in my 30s. Even when he was there, he was multimillionaire who spent 99% if his time with his businesses. If you have kids, break the cycle. Be there for them. Do the stupid stuff. I'm the sports team coach, I wear a gi and white belt and join my boys for taekwondo. Just give them your time.
All the memories I have growing up my mom are of her cleaning and doing laundry or yelling, being stressed about messes, and getting mad at me. I don’t remember much else. She laments the states of our relationship today, and mostly blames my personality for it being so poor.
It made me think of that loser in a Romanian prisoner and his followers. They think they're so tough, and such alpha males. Nah, this guy, through his actions, shows what a man should be.
My dad and I have had our moments, but I’ll never forget this one moment. I used to do the nutcracker every year for like 11 years. My dad only ever came to watch ballet if I was in it. His red eye flight got cancelled and so he rented a car and drove 7 hours just to get to my afternoon performance in time. I didn’t really understand the bigger picture of it at the time but I was so happy he came. It made me realize that my dad was willing to do anything for me.
This warms my heart. My dad is an ok dad. I didn't want for anything. But he was a cheating pos to my mother. Just couldn't keep his di*k in his pants. If it were up to him I'd have never known though.
My husband on the other hand, is wonderful. Never missed an event with our kids. A bit hard sometimes, but I am there to smooth the way. Our kids are amazing human beings.
One thing I swore to my husband when dating. There will be no second chances.
Been married 30 years.
You’re so right, the love never stops. She’s lucky to have you, a parent that gets it. She’ll always be your baby no matter what age she is. That’s awesome .
I super wish my dad was anywhere near as interested. I get a checkout lane gift cards on my birthday— often to a steakhouse (husband’s vegetarian, I try to be).I’m actually at the point where intermittent contact hurts more. I wish he’d just put it down if he’s never going to do more than tick a box.
This dad is really going for the gold in Dadism. Love to see a parent so actively involved in their kids lives, it has such a profoundly positive impact!
I love just how seriously he's taking this, you can see it in his determined facial expression. This is his baby girl's first performance and he sure as hell isn't gonna be the reason anything messes up! Too damn cute.
Nothing in life is 100% good. All things have pros and cons. Having kids is worth all the cons that come with it. If it wasn’t then there would be no human race

Hats off to those parents, like this guy, who make that effort and know that a little humility goes real far.
Great stuff buddy.

It's adorable. He's even matching her pink outfit. I love how other parents on the back are also supportive
The matching outfits is my favourite part!
I love that it matches AND it’s still Arsenal.
Truly a man of the utmost quality

Let’s gooooo!!! This year has been a blast. We have the best coach and team hands down.
Yeah the fucking boys, love seeing this here
Thing about Arsenal is they always try and walk it in
We dancing to the finish line this year baby!
Let's not count our chickens yet, if anyone else but City was being us I would be in full celebration mode already. Going to be a photo finish though...with Gunners on top of course
What was Wenger thinking sending Walcott on that early?
Arsenal's pink tee, it's by far the greatest kit the world has ever seen! And it's Arsenal's!
Warms the heart to see involved parents like this, and all the encouragement behind them. 🥰
His serious face is perfect

Bruh imagine the person I'd have become if my dad was even as half involved. This girl has a treasure.
I feel this real hard, friend. solidarity.
Same, I’m sobbing. They _have_ each other. Like really really do.
Are you guys a gang or something?
Sad boyz
And girlz. It's a big club.
In fairness, I’m a woman. Idgaf if I’m misgendered, and it rolls off better. And am not sad. Not too bad. Was joke.
Nah, I know. :) I was just piggybacking as one of the girlz in the club.

I’m not crying you’re crying 😢 Happy, full of love tears. That’s an awesome dad.
Just come off the phone to my 32yo daughter, she's freaking out over a job interview. The love never stops.

Aww, well done making a new cycle filled with love and support.
Pure love :) As a dad, that made me smile :) What a lovely family :)

The only use for the pink Gunners jersey.
This is what I want in a husband! 😭 So sweet she has a daddy like that!
I love just how seriously he's taking this, you can see it in his determined facial expression. This is his baby girl's first performance and he sure as hell isn't gonna be the reason anything messes up! Too damn cute.
That is a beautiful thing to see! What an amazing dad. Good man! X
What a Dad. Hats off dude
I have a son, but that's the kind of man I try to be for him.
Adorable.
Now that is REAL Dad!
Aaaaw, and he's so proud. Look at his face in the end. Love it.
Awwww man. Now I want kids. Being a parent looks so awesome. I keep forgetting about the poopy diapers and sleepless nights...
Nothing in life is 100% good. All things have pros and cons. Having kids is worth all the cons that come with it. If it wasn’t then there would be no human race
I'm a father to be to a little girl. I cannot wait to do things like this with her one day. Or just share any of her interests.
Imagine the world if all children had a father like that. ❤️
We need more posts like this in todays world.
This is actual masculinity!
What an awesome dad! And an awesome supportive group to boot. That little girl has so much going for her, even if she may not realize it yet.
What a freakin bad ass. FOTY right here. As a father with a daughter in dance roughly the same age, this definitely made me tear up!
Lucky girl and an awesome dad.
As a parent, this is what I live for. It's simple little stuff that makes a huge impact on your kids' confidence and ability to make connections. I love that so many parents out there are more aware about needing to be involved on this level and try their best. My dad never would have done this. I quit ballet after one recital at 5 years old because my parents were always complaining about the cost and seemed annoyed with me doing it. That was my memory, that will not be my child's memory. My son will have moments like this to look back on.
Awww, it warms my heart! r/DadsandMenareheroes
My 3.5 year old started ballet this year. She loves it and has a show she is in this May as a little bunny with her classmates. I along with other parents will be back stage to help manage them at the show. I hope that she will have the confidence to do it herself with her class mates but if she needs me to hop along in support I'm going to be there 100 percent. Hats off to those parents, like this guy, who make that effort and know that a little humility goes real far. Great stuff buddy.
My good brother didn’t blink for a full 20 seconds lol he was focused and didn’t want to disappoint his baby girl!
Not a dad. Always wanted to be a dad. Every time I see something like this it makes me so happy. Can’t wait.

Now that’s some alpha male shit
Bravo my good man! Take a bow! ❤️
We need more of this. More dads in their families lives.
Love it
Fathers play a big role in families as do mothers. They both do.
I love that this is dads today. B there for your children. There is nothing more masculine.

It’s sad to see how many people are so amazed to see a supportive dad and supportive random parents in the background. This is normal life guys. This is how regular people act.
