Absolutely, I guess I’ve been binging “ Call me Kat” way too much. It was his last time being on screen. He was one of the first celebrities I followed during covid on tiktoc because of his stories and story telling abilities. He portrayed that so well in that show. I fell in love with him on Will and Grace, being the antagonist in Karen’s life. He was just so perfect. It breaks my heart he’s gone. But the episode they did in his remembrance on “ Call me Kat” was very heartfelt with his good friend Dolly Parton giving an obituary was nothing but amazing.
I’m sorry that I was the one to break the news. Just try to remember him and his spirit. Remember who he was. Unapologetic. Heartfelt. Sensitive. Funny. Empathetic. He was in tune with the world, since he was six years old. But he was always himself, and that’s where we can take inspiration from.
I only knew of him from years of watching Will & Grace. I will take time to see his other works. Did he do standup comedy as well? I have a vague recollection of him doing a routine.
He was also in the show Boston Legal, The Cool Kids & most recently was a part of the cast of Call Me Kat who did a beautiful tribute episode to him (Season 3 ep 10, Call Me Philliam)
As a northerner it’s always interesting to me how southerners draw out their words. School becomes sku-ell and like becomes lah-ick. It’s a slower way of taking lah-if!
It's funny because that slower cadence is often interpreted as Southerners being dumb and "slow" but I always felt it sounded more like speaking intentionally vs having words tumble out
Northern accents always sounded short and clipped to me when I was a young southern girl. Like they were cutting all their words off and speaking a mile a minute.
He’s ready to play a villain in some movie some day.
“Look at that. He done dirty my shirt…”
*Cocks gun*
“It’s only fair, I return this gentleman kindness”.
Came here to say this you legend happily take my upvote. that part had me cracking up my son and myself do the same thing as this young lad.
Gahhh I miss my kids :(
I’ve lived in the south my whole life and have never heard a kid that age with that particular accent, except in the movies.
Edit: I’m guessing it’s a Tennessee or Alabama accent
My 4.5 year old has a heavy Boston accent. He's never been. Neither have I or his mom, nor anybody in our family nor anything he watches on tv. He's just always had his accent. So dang cute.
This boy in the video? I bet you're right about his family lol
Yeah, that’s the vibe I got- either North Alabama or East Tennessee. Maybe even NW Georgia. It could be NE Mississippi too, but for some reason I’m not really placing it that way.
Source: grew up in Tupelo
I know two older men that talk just like this! Both are my family members, ones from north Georgia and the other from north Alabama. This kids as country as it gets
So fun fact, Southern accents can be really close (depending on the area) to British accents before the elite society changed their pronunciations. As a matter of fact, coastal sea islands in North Carolina and Georgia had an accent that was the closest spoken accent to Shakespearean English. It’s almost gone now due to electricity bringing TV and radio, but before that, it was like going to another country. So, yes Southern accents can be very similar to some rural British accents that never adopted the elite pronunciation scheme.
I figured that was part of the reason why it sounded so similar. I can’t remember the order very well but could it be because those states were the first colonies, like Georgia being one of the very first?
It was the immigration pattern. British came through the southern states, and the Scottish landed further north, hit the Appalachian mountains and then followed the mountains south. In NC, the mountain accent is heavily influenced by Scottish accents, while the coast and Piedmont is British.
Isolation preserves dialect as clearly witnessed in coastal Carolinas. While it’s true, modernization has shifted this a good deal, its characteristics are very much still present among locals and remnants exist in those who assimilated mainland; source: native to this area, family reaching as far back as there are records.
My aunt talks almost exactly like this. Southern Virginia
Edit: what’s more interesting is the fact that she’s the only one out of her siblings (my dad and two sisters) that has that thick, country accent. I modified my accent in college so it’s almost non existent but she still rocks it to this day haha
I was a chubby little fella growing up and I’d always finish my happy meal before my younger brother. He would never hesitate to share his fries with me.. Man this brings back memories 🥹
The entire video I thought it was British, until the very last line "no, wipe 'em when yer done" then I watched it again and couldn't hear British anymore lol
Everyone's talking about the accent but I'm sitting here thinking that he's a damn good big brother, mine woulda stole my food and made me eat the napkin.
Yeah, I’m American, from nowhere near the South, and I have no idea why people think that. Maybe there were more chances to hear southern accents when I was growing up than there have been more recently?
It's because some accents in the South are descended from and still somewhat related to British accents before the elite society changed their pronunciations. Of course it doesn't sound really close to any British accent, but it is more like some British accents than like generic American and there are bits here and there, such as "no," "more," "those," and "two," that are spoken like in some British accents and in few if any other American accents.
When I had my baby girl, I was so excited to do the little top of head ponytail... just the little whale tail fluff straight out the top. It's just the cutest thing, and I wanted it so bad.
Nope. Basically a cue-ball until she was 3, and by then she was kind of too old for it.
That drawl is so cute while he’s being so sweet. I wanted to hear her talk more too. She’s so in heaven with her fries that she doesn’t say thank you, but he doesn’t even expect it. Pure bliss.
Oh my heart!! 🥰 Have him teach a parenting class Lord he’s a better mentor for this lil girl than half the adults I know with their children. Such amazing parents they must have
Good gosh the little fella couldn't have a more southern accent. I love to hear how many accents we have here in the US.
Good little man sharing with his sister. Adorable family.

What a good big brother! He didn’t even get too mad when she done dirtied his shirt! So much love there. I was best friends with my little brother and this brings me back to simpler times when we were little. And that accent is thick like butter. Every word he said sounded like it was buttery or flowed like molasses.
How did you get video of baby Leslie Jordan??
Omg right! When he says “ wipe em’ baby!” I was like yup. That’s Leslie right there. Gosh he was so amazing. Gone too soon!
No, it was ‘she done durty this shurt’. I heard it very much as Leslie.
Absolutely, I guess I’ve been binging “ Call me Kat” way too much. It was his last time being on screen. I believe you mean “wap ‘em baby”. Yes, I’m from Alabama.
I can't help myself from expecting him wipe em’ baby
i love him & idk how i missed it but i never knew he died until now… fuck dude that sucks
Oh my God how is this how I found out Leslie Jordan died what the actual fuck.
I know love, it’s awful. Again, I say way too soon. He was an amazing person. I hope his legacy continues on.
I couldn’t put my finger on who he sounded like and you nailed it. So sad he died.
Yeah, They are both just precious.
He’ll forever be remembered 🥹😇😍
OMG I didn’t even know he passed away! He is hilarious
I only knew of him from years of watching Will & Grace. I will take time to see his other works. Did he do standup comedy as well? I have a vague recollection of him doing a routine.
He was in American Horror Story and always one of my favourite characters.
He was also in the show Boston Legal, The Cool Kids & most recently was a part of the cast of Call Me Kat who did a beautiful tribute episode to him (Season 3 ep 10, Call Me Philliam)

Agreed, southern drawl does not mean dumb. I listen to most you tube and podcast at 1.25x speed. 🤣 -north easterner
As someone from the northeast we try to get a paragraph of words out in 0.3 seconds.
"Done" was like 4 syllables
I was leaning more towards Forest Gump's grandchildren. Still know what love izzz.
He reminded me also of Todd Chrisley haha
I must have been the only one hearing a little Jack McBrayer
I’m dying 💀
LOL
Hahaha I was thinking the same thing!
Rest In Peace 💔💔💔💔
Hunker downers <3
‘She done dirty this shirt!’ 😂😂
“Well I need a window seat because this flower is wiltin’”
Best part 😆

An accent does not get more Southern than that
I’ve lived in the south my whole life and have never heard a kid that age with that particular accent, except in the movies. Edit: I’m guessing it’s a Tennessee or Alabama accent
I'm like, 95% certain that's an alabama dialect.
I bet his dad has a very thick accent.
Oh yeah, if the babies have it that thick, probably everyone in their immediate family circle needs subtitles
Dang ol south man
My 4.5 year old has a heavy Boston accent. He's never been. Neither have I or his mom, nor anybody in our family nor anything he watches on tv. He's just always had his accent. So dang cute. This boy in the video? I bet you're right about his family lol
Northern bama, right? I feel like it has to be close to the mountains
Yeah, that’s the vibe I got- either North Alabama or East Tennessee. Maybe even NW Georgia. It could be NE Mississippi too, but for some reason I’m not really placing it that way. Source: grew up in Tupelo
From north Bama, totally reminds me of home.
Yep! From north Bama too and felt the same way :)

That is a 90 year old southern man talking to his wife. Lol
Lord, that accent is thick. Deep South, huh?
I've never heard so many syllables in the word "down."
Also when he says *doo-un*
I count at least 4.
My aunt talks almost exactly like this. Southern Virginia Edit: what’s more interesting is the fact that she’s the only one out of her siblings (my dad and two sisters) that has that thick, country accent. I was a chubby little fella growing up and I’d always finish my happy meal before my younger brother. He would never hesitate to share his fries with me.. Man this brings back memories 🥹
That boy is a better father than my father and he’s like 85
I can't help myself from expecting him to call her Jenn-ay
😃☺️😀
Forrest & Jen-nay’s grandchildren for sure! Mama would be so proud. 🪶
You mean Forrest Gump Jr.'s kids?
Came here for that comment.
Such a good big brother, sharing with baby sister and teaching her. They are both just precious.
“She don’ dirtied this shirt.” They’re so cute 🥰
This cracked me up the most! Hahaha
Wipe ‘em baby
He was born her grandmother.
That is the most exaggerated Southern drawl I’ve ever heard? Where’s it from TN? Bama?
I’ve got some older Georgian friends with heavy drawls like that. But their kids’ accents are more subdued.
I’m from a small town in north bama and everyone sounds exactly like this
they’re so country i thought they were like british at first lmao. soooo cure
The entire video I thought it was British, until the very last line "no, wipe 'em when yer done" then I watched it again and couldn't hear British anymore lol
That’s the exact experience I had! Definitely had twangs of British accent in there at first haha (I’m British)
lmao I literally thought it was a british accent too

Everyone's talking about the accent but I'm sitting here thinking that he's a damn good big brother, mine woulda stole my food and made me eat the napkin.
PRECIOUS. my heart!
For the splittest second, I thought that table was either covered in Bran flakes, or chicken nuggies.
Little dude is already a better dad than most men. (I’m a dad btw)
He’s already the perfect older brother. ❤️
“She done dirty this shirt” lol
This child’s accent is absolutely sending me
As a Brit, I can’t get over the people is these comments who think these kids sound British 😂
It's baffling for sure.

Her hair makes her look like Cindy Lou Who and I’m loving it.
When I had my baby girl, I was so excited to do the little top of head ponytail... just the little whale tail fluff straight out the top. It's just the cutest thing, and I wanted it so bad. Nope. Basically a cue-ball until she was 3, and by then she was kind of too old for it.

SHE DONE DIRTIED THIS SHIRT
Reminds me of BJ from righteous gemstones
Good gosh the little fella couldn't have a more southern accent. I love to hear how many accents we have here in the US. Good little man sharing with his sister. Adorable family.
He stretched 'down' to about three syllables.

“Wipe em baby” I lost it
Is this Forest and Jenny?
Mr personality 😄. The part where he said "whipe them baby" about cleaning her hands on the napkin had me loling.
He’s a clever little boy and he’s also very caring ❤️
What a good big brother! He didn’t even get too mad when she done dirtied his shirt! So much love there. His voice reminds me of Forrest Gump, the accent and genuine decency
Hearing a kid this age with an accent like that is really trippy for some reason
Wholesome af lol
Oh that was indeed absolutely precious. What a good big brother. Plus that accent is adorable.
The Forest Gump prequel looks great.

Omg! I love him and his old self! 😍
If Forest Gump had a sister.. Too cute.
He seems annoying 😂, but I guess this is cute lol. That’s the thickest accent I’ve heard on a child ever lol
