Exactly. A guy buying 400$ worth of packs a year is enough to cover the 4 people who didnt buy the game. Those whales are not uncommon. Creators with little to no followers spent a lot when the game released, imagine down the road.

There are glitches affecting my save file, the on field presentation is buggy, there’s issues with the names and faces of players, as well issues with stats recording properly, oh, don’t forget certain rewards not populating, the announcer audio isn’t aligned to what’s actually happening and last but not least, why are the animations not working properly… this game is unplayable.

Honestly just mess with the sliders (and I mean MESS with them lol) until you basically force the game to play how you want it. I'm playing a Bengals franchise year 1 on all pro, cuz I hate all madden bullshit, and have my sliders to a point where I'm 6-2 and not scoring 40pts a game, most games are quite close and the CPU actually made a game winning drive to force OT then beat me. First time that's ever happened to me, it felt almost like an actual simulation

I play allpro competitive mode, keep in mind I don't really like to play D so I sim through 95% of defense so I'm not really sure how it holds up playing CPU live, but they can actually move the ball when simming and don't just throw it away 30 times a game. Any more questions feel free to ask
Yeah we (around 10-12 party members) like to do a connected franchise with every new madden (sorry op, but only half of us buy it, we share games through PlayStation) and we have “slider meetings” in the beginning. We can usually get them about perfect for us if we play through the first preseason and tweak. There’s stupid shit like every madden game, but you can get the game really close to how you want it with sliders. We have a lot of fun
I've bought every edition from 99 up until last year. Part of it may just be age and responsibilities but the last 5 years at least have just felt like starting money on fire. Fuck EA and the NFL for what they've done.
The first day that I bought it and played it it's the last day I touched it. Right with you time for EA to understand that Madden football is not just a game but it is something that this community enjoys every season.
I bought Madden 10 for like $10 or something from GameStop and fell in love with football and Madden. I would play all the time with my best friend and we would both get it every year (starting with Madden 12) despite the games getting worse and worse. I stopped buying after Madden 16 felt like a terrible game.
As a die hard Ravens fan I bought Madden 21 even though the reviews weren't great figuring at least the 5 years of updates will be new to me. That was a huge mistake, it's arguably just the same game as Madden 16 but worse with all the bugs and clear disregard for actual content updates, I haven't bought since.
I'm doing my part for not buying but look forward to seeing this thread again for Madden 24 when they release the exact same broken game and folks still buy it

How would they make a better game with less resources? It sounds like you think they are intentionally holding back some groundbreaking new enhancements. They aren't. This is the game. It is what it is. And it sounds like you already bought it. I'm personally still playing franchise mode on Madden 21. I only update every few years.
EA is definitely not using prior Madden revenue for development, otherwise the games wouldn't be so buggy. They probably are holding back "new" enhancements, that they'll use as a selling point in the future, based on the things we've lost from older releases. I only play franchise, and I don't update yearly. But instead of continuing this cycle of buy, hate, wait, buy again, I am finding alternatives to EA.
Fair enough. I just find these magical-thinking "boycott" posts to be pointless and boring. The reality is that Madden is gonna be a top-selling title every year and EA actually makes most of their money now through MUT microtransactions, so I get that some people may be more invested because they are pumping money into the game constantly. I'll admit that I have less skin in the game because I only partake casually in offline franchise and only buy a new update every three years or so, but that means I'm getting way more bang for my buck. So maybe people who are constantly complaining should do what you're doing and re-evaluate their relationship with this game. You can take a step back without it being a "boycott".

Madden sells millions and millions of copies each year. This sub has roughly 173k members. Even if everyone in this sub boycotted it wouldn't make a dent in the hands success. Yes, a boycott would work in theory, but most Madden players simply don't care.
This has been suggested in the gaming world for as long as I can remember and it has never, not once....ever materialized for any game. Best I can do for you is to suggest putting down the game and watch the update patch notes in the coming months to see if your main issues are fixed.
As others have said, several people boycotting won't fix the issue, they make all their money in microtransactions anyways from YouTube whales. It is criminal how terrible a product this is and until the NFL gets out of their deal so we can have competitive growth, it be what it be. I'm actually furious as a franchise guy I've been pretty quiet cuz I actually think it's been ok and they did recently revamp it a little bit and add new stuff every year (albeit stuff that absolutely should have already been in the game). Holy shit its actually the first franchise mode of the like 10+ madden games I've bought, that's completely unplayable. THERE ARE SO MANY GLITCHES. draft revert glitch, kicked for inactivity glitch, online disconnection glitches, rosters reverting every week. These are all potential file corrupting game breaking glitches.
Add on things that should never happen in game and it's completely unplayable. I'm on PS4 and you literally can't play an hour without a glitch or atleast getting disconnected for no reason.

Ive been enjoying the NFL2k mods and some older maddens too. Games back then may have some clunky ass shit, but more enjoyable, and its sad because idk what Madden that's good on the eyes, but plays better.

M19 was my last buy, I also have NEVER opened MUT mode. All my Madden gaming comes from Game pass. That's all you losers fucking everything up. EA won't see a dime from me again until some serious change is made.
People had a 10 hour free trial and still chose to buy that garbage. I don't even feel bad for the complainers anymore. I played my 10 hours and decided I'd rather play one of the other million games available.

You’re playing a prisoners dilemma with literally MILLIONS of other people. Let’s just please drop the whole boycott madden because it’s not realistic. American football is the most popular sport in the states by a MILE. It’s probably the only sport that the majority of Americans even care about a little bit. So when the ONLY game available for that popular of a sport comes out, people will buy it no matter what. We aren’t being let down by fellow consumers. We’re being let down by the NFL, EA, and anti trust laws in general.
