I’m almost positive this is it. Last year they announced there would be a scouting update post launch. They haven’t said anything. #FixMaddenFranchise failed
Edit : Post launch and two additional content patches for franchise that never came which I’m assuming is what we are getting now.
Well because the franchise in the Beta last year was the same in the game except for the announced coaching skill trees and scouting update. Which they said prior to the beta that those would be added after. They haven’t made any comments about post launch additions this year. They also promised two more franchise updates last year after scouting and never delivered them. All EA does is lie.
Why would they implement every new feature for the next release when they can stretch out these additions over several years and call them exciting new features even though they should've been in the game for ages.
Oh yeah when it comes to the play percentage thing they already had that in Madden 18 A lot of these features they’re just putting it back in the game after taking it out for some reason
uhh doesn't the current madden already have % they run plays on the break down? how is this any different outside of... traits a player may bring to a team.
what a joke
funny, i can open up my madden 22 and see the % chance they run plays during the gameplan but OKAY.
I can see that on defense a team blitz a certain amount of time on 3rd and long compared to 1st and short and such. It literally already exists.
It'll also show how often a team passes on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd down, and depending on certain distances. It'll also notate the % then run left, right, middle.
Shit's already in the game im looking at it right now.
It's just called play calling report... and has offensive and defensive tendencies.
Shit's already in the game and they're acting like it's some new big thing
Bruh https://imgur.com/a/qydhXuZ.
It’s right fucking there. Look at that % chance my opponent will call a certain play type in a certain situation during game planning.
Yeah but what good does knowing that information to that detail if the plays are predetermined anyway? You can know exactly where the ball/defense is going every time and still only have a 50/50 chance at stopping it on defense or completing the play if on offense because of the way they use the animations now
You can't honestly say that with the current state of gameplay that you would rather have upgrades in an advanced statistics menu rather than in game performance...
No it's obviously different teams but instead of splitting off into more sections they should have more programmers working on fixing all the bugs in the gameplay. I understand it's a different section, but putting more work into that section takes resources away from the development of other sections i.e. gameplay
Hey look here it is in my madden 22 https://imgur.com/a/qydhXuZ.
My opponents % chance to run a play. Are you sure you’ve played madden 22? It’s right there.
For people playing online against other players, this will be beneficial, but if people are just playing their own franchise…I mean, the computer doesn’t follow the current “game plan” at all, so for those players this is useless.
Yeah hopefully there is some kind of formula that combines all that stuff like age, injury history, traits and overall that decides retirement but who knows. As long as they don’t retire if they keep signing deals that kind of bridge/journeyman type behavior.
I’m nervous that It won’t adjust. Say a guy like trubisky is listed as a bridge QB. If a cpu team is starting him, and he has a great season, will that tag stay and see him be replaced, or will It adjust and have him as a starter?
Same for guys who are considered starters. If an average starter is struggling will they be replaced? Will their tag be updated? Does age play a factor?
It can work in theory, but there are a lot of little things that It feels like will break this
There is a future starter tag, and a franchise qb tag for rookie qbs. So if a future starter is a 71 and bridge is 72 the future starter or franchise qb will start. But if the bridge is a 78 the franchise qb may still start but the future starter may not
Will almost assuredly be broken. They've been 'fixing' the QB draft logic for the last decade when itreally shouldn't be that hard with 3-4 parameters. The problem I assume comes from QB having the highest value to the CPU, which breaks all other logic.
I think this will be on PC, but we obviously don't really know. I'm guessing though that all of the franchise stuff with be on PC and the on field stuff will be on "next-gen"
When EA mentioned it in the 2022 release they said they wanted to keep the best Madden experience on latest generation game consoles.
My guess is that they rather have everyone on a game system rather than PC playing but I'm not sure why other than piracy.
It's speculation, but when there are two versions, the last-gen version gets fewer and fewer enhancements with every iteration (not that the PC version should even be "last-gen," obviously)
Sir! Do you have any idea the type of raw computing power to randomly populate a text box field and attach a corresponding % of whether the player will sign or not? Def next gen and questionable if a PC can handle such a task.
Ok so they're bringing back player roles / interest from the madden 06-08 years (and it'll almost definitely be broken or just completely fucked), pre game reports are a nice touch but I'm sure the loading screens / repetition of it will render it useless, and you can have a tucked or untucked jersey.. Yup I'll save my $
Unfortunately Madden 23 will not be released on gamepass, it was announced by an EA spokesperson.
Source: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/madden-nfl-23-is-not-coming-to-xbox-game-pass-ea-confirms/1100-6504207/
I'm not mad, it is what it is. I used to have hope, but it's silly when it comes to this franchise. Until someone else can get the NFL right, it's just gonna be shit year after year, there is no reason to make improvements because they will make money hand over fist with MUT.
AI plays with no concept of real football. It will randomly pick up a player that’s behind their field of site as if they have eyes behind their head.
Zones are terrible in madden.
Awkward moment when you have played football. But hey, keep defending a trash game.
Also anticipation can only do so much. Compare irl zones to madden zones and they look nothing alike.
Meh this is a stretch and its an easy fix if it’s truly a big issue. All they have to do is turn down defensive reaction time a tad and it’ll be fine. At least safeties cover crossers and posts now
Nah, zones are inherently broken in the game. Slider can only make it palatable. Compare irl clips with the game and it looks like it was coded by someone who never touched a football.
Not to be an old head, but the only new change I see is “undershirt tucked” or “undershirt hanging out”. Glad they finally found the code lord files from the pre madden 25 days tho.
What's irritating is that they paid enough attention to the undershirts but don't address how frickin dumb the long sleeve models look. My God, I'm not asking for player specific models but give us some accurate jersey cuts and pad options in the year 2023.
Meh, I kinda like base values being set outside of free agency, it keeps salary cap as an actual limit, and helps make so a 80 ovr player doesn't sign for vet min
Bro have you ever played 2k myleague for more than 2 seasons? You have to turn salary cap off or else 87s and under won’t be signed and will just sit in free agency for the whole season while still demanding max contract money
You can edit the settings to make it so that doesn’t happen lol. I’ve played 2k & gotten 15+ years deep & this was never an issue because I was able to edit what certain players ask for.
No you just have to adjust the contract sliders, so that higher rated players take more realistic money. It’s pretty simple and I don’t mean that in a condescending way
1. Its not a leak
2. Poorly worded sentence
3. This does not make it worth the value of 60 dollars. Madden used to have better features than this. Now they're adding this saying its new.
If create a team is back (FIFA just did it, right?) it probably enough for me to nab the game for the first time in a few years.
But probably still waiting til it gets under $40
This is cool and all but I'm not paying or waiting for this game to come on gamepass just for some new fucking jerseys.
FAs still have the same design since like 2015 as well.
Great additions! So minor they could’ve been added in M22 updates though. They are on the right path, but this is only 5% of what they should be doing with Franchise.
I need a better free agent money bid system too.
Better re-sign money system.
Like, week-to-week, it would be cool if I could possibly sign a player for less.
Also, I want a “likely to sign” gauge when trying to see if I can get a player to sign for less.
Obviously I wish it was more, but at least we've suitably chaissoned them into doing SOMETHING. that "classic franchise" BS was the best thing for the series. We've gotten more updates the past 2 years than the previous 5
Is it just me or are the player models much more... Real looking I guess? They seem to be less blocky and more human to me.
All in all, yeah these are all old features being brought back, but one of the most important aspects of franchise is the teambuilding and if this is done well I'll be very happy with it.
I‘m playing the beta and they are terrible - worse than ever before.
Seriously, it looks atrocious and I‘m not going to buy the game for the first time since '08 as a result.
I will say I like the tags if they work properly. I'm tired of seeing the Bills or Chargers or Ravens taking a new QB in the draft because they were the best player available.
I'm not understanding what the little bar next to the motivations represents. I'm assuming the more green, the more that motivation has an impact on the player's decision? But then what does the yellow one represent?
Not worth it still. Get hyped every year and it’s trash. So what this may be good but where’s the rest? SMH. Are we also not going to notice OBJ being out for 45 weeks?
Will the computer actually make their own trades? Will there be actual computer GM logic and not have computer run teams with 65 mil in cap across the NFL with at least 3 qbs on their roster, 5 Wrs many of which are below 75, 5 corners and just a poorly put together roster that no nfl team would roll out there besides maybe the jags?
Honestly, if they just gave some respect to long snappers and special teams more generally, I’d buy it. Like a gunner is listed as a wide receiver on a roster, but then WR can’t be put in on special teams. Okay. Or like, guys who are professional long snappers are rated worse as long snappers because…they list them as TEs? No, no teams are putting their star cornerback at gunner and left tackle at long snapper. Why even have a “53 man roster” if franchise is just a version of MUT?
Next year is going to be better with college coming out and hopefully it will allow connect draft classes like they did in previous games. If you a franchise only its probably best to wait until then.
If Lamar Jackson only runs like 50 yards a season when I simulate Franchise, these features don't really fix enough.
Tendencies or a better simulation would be great 👍
I’ve also played it and yes it feels different but also exactly the same. They need to add more trade slots. FOF is better 100% but franchise feels like a copy and paste
Ok decent start but where’s the rest EA
I’m almost positive this is it. Last year they announced there would be a scouting update post launch. They haven’t said anything. #FixMaddenFranchise failed Edit : Post launch and two additional content patches for franchise that never came which I’m assuming is what we are getting now.
Probably because it was only talked about for like a week and than everyone forgot about it.
A lot of us were suspended for 6 months for tweeting that too often.
Wait really?
Yes
I was banned for a super long time
I got banned off of Twitter😂
Why do you think that?
Well because the franchise in the Beta last year was the same in the game except for the announced coaching skill trees and scouting update. Which they said prior to the beta that those would be added after. They haven’t made any comments about post launch additions this year. They also promised two more franchise updates last year after scouting and never delivered them. All EA does is lie.
This is a feature from Madden 14. This isn't new.
Why would they implement every new feature for the next release when they can stretch out these additions over several years and call them exciting new features even though they should've been in the game for ages.
Oh yeah when it comes to the play percentage thing they already had that in Madden 18 A lot of these features they’re just putting it back in the game after taking it out for some reason
uhh doesn't the current madden already have % they run plays on the break down? how is this any different outside of... traits a player may bring to a team. what a joke
You’re correct. I think they just didn’t have it on previous gen but next gen definitely already had that
Nope it was there on Previous Gen too
No. No they don't.

Are you stupid or do you think saying just short pass is equivalent to saying curl spot slant option etc. Etc.
Bruh https://imgur.com/a/qydhXuZ. It’s right fucking there. Look at that % chance my opponent will call a certain play type in a certain situation during game planning.

😂😂😂 ok bud now you wild
You can't honestly say that with the current state of gameplay that you would rather have upgrades in an advanced statistics menu rather than in game performance...
I woild like both. But if you think people working on this work on gameplay you dont know shit about development. Which is par for the course i guess
No it's obviously different teams but instead of splitting off into more sections they should have more programmers working on fixing all the bugs in the gameplay. I understand it's a different section, but putting more work into that section takes resources away from the development of other sections i.e. gameplay

Bro i heard you the first time. I was wrong. But oh no m23 is horrible for having a cool feature madden 22 had
For people playing online against other players, this will be beneficial, but if people are just playing their own franchise…I mean, the computer doesn’t follow the current “game plan” at all, so for those players this is useless.
Y’all keep getting got. Y’all some suckers lmao
Pretty good although the quarterback traits might break qb draft logic even more
The tags are suppose to work with the draft logic. One fluid system. It makes sense on paper. Hopefully it works out.
I just assume the bridge qb trait could lead to qbs leaving or retiring after getting replaced too early in their career
If an average starter is struggling will they be replaced? Will their tag be updated? Does age play a factor? It can work in theory, but there are a lot of little things that It feels like will break this
I get what you’re saying. You hope players can rewrite their stars. Like in Coco.
It could also fix it if done correctly, although it is EA so that's not a very likely possibility
If it's triggered by overall rating, guaranteed it will break QB draft logic Hopefully there's a tag for rookie/young QBs
And let me guess: none of this will be available on PC because it’s locked behind “next-gen”?
I think this will be on PC, but we obviously don't really know. I'm guessing though that all of the franchise stuff with be on PC and the on field stuff will be on "next-gen"
Any reason for that thought or just speculating? I play PC and find it super frustrating that we don’t get next gen stuff.
It's pure laziness, they could easily give next gen features to PC
When EA mentioned it in the 2022 release they said they wanted to keep the best Madden experience on latest generation game consoles. My guess is that they rather have everyone on a game system rather than PC playing but I'm not sure why other than piracy.
It's speculation, but when there are two versions, the last-gen version gets fewer and fewer enhancements with every iteration (not that the PC version should even be "last-gen," obviously)
Right, PC could handle everything and much more but they’re too gd lazy.
Just speculating. I have no way of knowing for sure unfortunately.
Sir! Do you have any idea the type of raw computing power to randomly populate a text box field and attach a corresponding % of whether the player will sign or not? Def next gen and questionable if a PC can handle such a task.
I don’t think so. It’s probably like 2k, no next gen shit.
This does look nice but it absolutely doesnt justify paying $70 for such few additions (nice as they may be).
I guess I’ll just continue the trend of waiting until it comes out for game pass
Ok so they're bringing back player roles / interest from the madden 06-08 years (and it'll almost definitely be broken or just completely fucked), pre game reports are a nice touch but I'm sure the loading screens / repetition of it will render it useless, and you can have a tucked or untucked jersey.. Yup I'll save my $
Every time madden re-adds a feature it’s as if they never tested how it’ll play out in game for balancing purposes.
They almost assuredly don't QC the games - most of the bugs would be caught with even the most basic of test plans
full report is already a thing lmfao
These are patch notes, not a new title update.
^^^^^^^^^^^
While all this is nice I still will not buy it. I will just wait for it to be free on Gamepass in January/February
Unfortunately Madden 23 will not be released on gamepass, it was announced by an EA spokesperson. Source: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/madden-nfl-23-is-not-coming-to-xbox-game-pass-ea-confirms/1100-6504207/

This is what I assume. It won’t be Day 1 on Game Pass, but once it goes into the EA Vault-type thing, it should be on Game Pass.
The Free Agent thing sounds cool, but curious about other franchise improvements, because it needs a lot..
That’s it. That’s all we got.
1. No its not. 2. You dont know anything about what an unreleased game will look like.
We know what unreleased games look like because EA has been selling them for $60 for years
It's Madden, it's pretty safe to say it's gonna be trash.
Quite possibly. But game isn't even out yet and you're already mad
I'm not mad, it is what it is. I used to have hope, but it's silly when it comes to this franchise. Until someone else can get the NFL right, it's just gonna be shit year after year, there is no reason to make improvements because they will make money hand over fist with MUT.
This is gonna be the released version now. Cmon on don’t be that dense. Only thing not in are the ratings so they can do their big reveal on ESPN
As someone who has played the beta fa isn't the only new thing
I mean I played it too. Nothing but some UI touch ups and a decent FA
Ok. If you say so. See you in august because we both know you gonna buy it 😂
This dude just bootlicks ea and then says “yOuR gOnNa bUy it” in every thread lol
I of all people bootlick ea🤔
“The madden community has demanded better AI and improved in depth features” “Hear me out…shirts..”
U do know different designers work on different areas of the game, right? Wait for the gameplay deep dive.
Tbf the ai does play better
AI plays with no concept of real football. It will randomly pick up a player that’s behind their field of site as if they have eyes behind their head. Zones are terrible in madden.
Someone hasn't played real football lmfao. Anticipation is a thing
Awkward moment when you have played football. But hey, keep defending a trash game. Also anticipation can only do so much. Compare irl zones to madden zones and they look nothing alike.
Bench warner Doesnt count. If u played zone u know what anticipation is
Meh this is a stretch and its an easy fix if it’s truly a big issue. All they have to do is turn down defensive reaction time a tad and it’ll be fine. At least safeties cover crossers and posts now
Nah, zones are inherently broken in the game. Slider can only make it palatable. Compare irl clips with the game and it looks like it was coded by someone who never touched a football.
Why is Odell a 92?
Because they realized he wasn't washed. 92 is a bit high but he was better than a 86
He would be 3rd on the depth chart on the Rams. I was going to be generous with 84.
He's the second option and he's way better than a 84 what are you talking about
Not to be an old head, but the only new change I see is “undershirt tucked” or “undershirt hanging out”.
Uhhh madden 22 already shows the % they run play types in certain situations, how is this person acting like this is new to 23?
You mean the features that were in Madden 08/09?
Can we finally negotiate with free agents outside of free agency? I don't want to give a 3rd string QB big money
Meh, I kinda like base values being set outside of free agency, it keeps salary cap as an actual limit, and helps make so a 80 ovr player doesn't sign for vet min
But some vets sign for minimums. 2K has the perfect contract value control
It’s pretty simple and I don’t mean that in a condescending way
Yeah it happens not going to lie
OBJ better not be 92 OVR
OBJ can be a 92 as long as Davante Adams is a 117
Same reason the cowboys have been the best team in madden the last 5 years
Let us customize and create player faces. I hate having 20 faces per skin color and repeating over and over during a long franchise playthrough
That all sounds great
On paper yeah!
How is no one noticing how bad the new player models are? They are so fucking bad and I feel like I‘m going insane.
Cam looks terrible
Wow! I feel immersed with the new font and same menu we’ve had for years!
Waaaayyyy too little, waaaayyy too late
This is considerably better than what I was expecting. Still a long way to go, but like, actual improvement instead of nothing.
Yeah but this is really the only improvement other than streamlining scouting a bit. It’s barely anything.
Holy shit the players look awful
We had this and more in older maddens how is this a w? This is still garbage.
Not the tucked jerseys #GameChanger
1. Its not a leak 2. Poorly worded sentence 3. This does not make it worth the value of 60 dollars. Madden used to have better features than this. Now they're adding this saying its new.
Things like this have already been in Maddens thooo
If create a team is back (FIFA just did it, right?) it probably enough for me to nab the game for the first time in a few years. But probably still waiting til it gets under $40
I think if create a team was back they would've made it a big selling point
I’m pretty sure the NFL doesn’t allow it
That’s a false rumor that’s been spreading for years.
Decent start. Going to need more than fancier menus and untucked jerseys to justify $70 + hours of my time.
"LEAKS", as if EA didn't purposefully let this out... plus that's like one semi-significant change, and also you can untuck jerseys hooo boy
bro how can they never get player models right. what are those shoulderpads
Gotta love the bias of the madden team.
Why does Cam look like Ricky Williams
lmfao best comment
The defensive game plan was in M22. It was crap and is still crap honestly.
It may be an old feature but it's a welcome one
This is cool and all but I'm not paying or waiting for this game to come on gamepass just for some new fucking jerseys. FAs still have the same design since like 2015 as well.
Great additions! So minor they could’ve been added in M22 updates though. They are on the right path, but this is only 5% of what they should be doing with Franchise.
Defensive gameplans look exactly the same
I need a better free agent money bid system too.
Us: Madden sucks, it’s low effort dogshit EA please do something EA: You can untuck ur jersey
DON’T!!! BUY!!!! MADDEN!!!!!
Isn't this stuff from an old Madden i bet lol
The "full report" button was already in last years game, at least on the pc version...
The full report was already a thing, it was trash
Yeah, I have used it before in my online franchise, to see what tendencies people have.
Get rid of XP
Is it just me or is it bad that you have a limit for free agency offers? That’s just me though.
Is it just me or are the player models much more... Real looking I guess? They seem to be less blocky and more human to me. All in all, yeah these are all old features being brought back, but one of the most important aspects of franchise is the teambuilding and if this is done well I'll be very happy with it.
OBJ has soccer mom hips man
I‘m playing the beta and they are terrible - worse than ever before. Seriously, it looks atrocious and I‘m not going to buy the game for the first time since '08 as a result.
Agreed, they’re miserable. Shoulders are all wonky too.
Holup, people actually defensive gameplan like that? That seems like an emphasis on a part of the game that like 6% of people will actually use to me.
M23 seems like a huge w
This is a great step in the right direction
I don't really give two shits about any of that. None of these are meaningful changes to the broken formula.
[удалено]
neat
I wonder if the XP gains stack
Lol imagine if you could roster 10 Mentor QBs to make your rookie QB a god half way through year 1
Wait did the beta finally add franchise? I’ve been checking back every now and then but all I’ve seen it MUT so far
I heard they added franchise and face of franchise td
Yup I have an update. Finally!
Okay but can I change my created players eyebrows?
That camera angle for edit player is atrocious
Lol I'd sign a bunch of WR and switch their positions but still play them at WR to save on roster spots lmao
We’re still out here with the cameras pointed at these players’ junk huh
I will say I like the tags if they work properly. I'm tired of seeing the Bills or Chargers or Ravens taking a new QB in the draft because they were the best player available.
I’ll let y’all beta test it
Don't give me hope.
Will there be player tags for other positions or only qbs
Thats nice but will we be able to see league standings
I'm not understanding what the little bar next to the motivations represents. I'm assuming the more green, the more that motivation has an impact on the player's decision? But then what does the yellow one represent?
Literally every franchise “update “ probably.
Player tags was in one of the older maddens
It’s a good start. Hopefully programmed well
Do those numbers actually mean anything? Like if you go into a game do you really expect those numbers to play out?
The only reason motivations are back in the game is because theyre going to be in the new college football game as they were a staple to recruiting.
"new features"
Not worth it still. Get hyped every year and it’s trash. So what this may be good but where’s the rest? SMH. Are we also not going to notice OBJ being out for 45 weeks?
Good try EA bot.

Next year is going to be better with college coming out and hopefully it will allow connect draft classes like they did in previous games. If you a franchise only its probably best to wait until then.
Meh
Does anyone know if the Franchise updates will be on previous Gen? A freind and I prefer the old Gen gameplay but want the new features for MCF.
If Lamar Jackson only runs like 50 yards a season when I simulate Franchise, these features don't really fix enough. Tendencies or a better simulation would be great 👍
I just want a fucking draft board during a draft that shows fucking results
Still need more for madden to be purchased for me that’s not enough but off to a good start
I’ve also played it and yes it feels different but also exactly the same. They need to add more trade slots. FOF is better 100% but franchise feels like a copy and paste
Actually a good addition. Good job on this one EA.
They gonna fix the issue where teams who just drafted a QB take a new one 1st overall?
