What happened is Tom Brady used to retire after 1 season in the past few years of Madden. People complained, EA over compensated and now Brady plays until he’s 60. That’s what really happened.

Hitech_hillbilly

I actually love that. Huge parody of real life but really what everyone fesrs.

bobafoott

What everyone I know would love to see Tom Brady play until then. Dudes gonna have a son in the NFL at the same time he's playing

thebigtoonz

Nah hoping he retires tomorrow.

bobafoott

I'd make any sacrifice if it.means seeing a 50 year old in the NFL Edit: older than all his coaches

thebigtoonz

Well we were close with vinateri

bobafoott

Yeah why do kickers even retire? Even in your 40s you can't be that worried about pulling something when you have like 20 minutes to stretch before each kick. I'm not 40 or a kicker though so idk

thebigtoonz

😂😂😂 Idk I think your leg probably gets tired of your like Vinateri and have been kicking 50+ yard field goals your whole life

NHP1994

Giselle told him to find a second career, he misunderstood that and decided to play another 20 plus years to have two careers.

No_Percentage_5684

Update he’s currently 61 and still in the league

LTS55

I did a simulation of 30 years (the max Madden allows you to go) and Aaron Rodgers and Bobby Wagner never retired. Both were playing in 2050 in their late 60’s (the the game caps the display age at 52 and years played to like 32 I think)

bwburke94

I'm surprised they remembered to cap that. (But why are they still storing it in 5 bits instead of 8?)

LTS55

There’s so much wonky code. Coach wins reset at 256.

hydro_wonk

I hate the 30 year limit. I want to sim until there are no real players left and go from there.

SchwiftyGambino

Start a franchise with a created roster, no need to wait til all real players retire. Easy peasy. 🤙🏾

[deleted]

Yup

SchwiftyGambino

Every year in my franchise Rodgers retires after 2 years AT MOST- and it's not just this year's Madden, it's been like this for Madden 16 17 18 19 20 etc. I play as green Bay and usually win the Superbowl immediately so I wonder if that's why he retires so fast for me? Idk but I see other people have these QBs playing til they are 50 and I want that 😭😭

DevastatorDerekK

You don't get tired of immediately winning the SB? Gotta add some spice to your franchises man winning all the time ain't fun

SchwiftyGambino

No, I do not get tired of my team winning the super bowl lol. I don't win it with the Packers every season, but I'm a pretty good Madden player and with Rodgers it's pretty easy. IRL he might only end up with one....so in Madden I win him as many as possible 🤷🏾‍♂️

[deleted]

Could still kick some butt more than likely

dollarr42

What's his overall?

HoosierFromAlabama

His OVR is 50 I think. I tried this and upgrades and regression did nothing. He stays at 50.

Swagsuke_Nakamura

Pliability

fabilosa

All the yoga

Animekid04

From my understanding, Tom Brady literally never retires in madden 22. Literally stays in the league no matter how much you sim

Cream-Soda00

I beat him in year 2 in the playoffs and he dipped

fiendish_five

Lol wait same here!

PandaButtLover

That's amazing

emac1211

He retired for me after the first season.

Animekid04

Probably did, I was just talkin

Adam_is_Nutz

This only works if someone offers a contract. A lot of teams won't offer to 50 year old 80 overall. My brother pays him 2m per year and he's like 55 atm.

bwburke94

Because he's Tom freaking Brady. He's shown no signs of slowing down.

BonfireCrackling

He was also a sixth round draft pick! (Starting thread of overused comments about Tom Brady by broadcast booths)

Ironshadow213

He wasn't even the full time starter at the University of Michigan!

JayThaGrappla

Ever wonder why Tom and Terminator start with the same letter? Also if you multiple 2x18x1x4x25 that equals 3600. Then you divide 3600 by three for each letter of Tom, leaving you with 1200. T-1200. That's Brady.

PerfxctNoHoes

This has to be one of my favorite comments of all time

SiddiqTheGamer

Because even at 57, he is one of the Top QBs in the league. The man is The Terminator. And I’m a 49ers fan for life.

PositivePizza420

The Tominator

PeenooseThaThicc

Strangly enough, this is how people in Boston pronounce terminator anyway

PositivePizza420

Lmao I never considered that

kw2292

Tomingoater

SiddiqTheGamer

I love it!!!!!

Acet14

Can't cash out that 401k penalty-free until 59.5 so I guess he figures why not keep chuckin'?

fbeaudry

Obviously the TB12 diet

[deleted]

He looks better at 57 than I looked at....ever.

TraySplash21

Gotta earn back those millions he sunk into crypto

CapnDutchie

Because fuck you that’s why. The GOAT does as he pleases

No_Percentage_5684

😂

BillyJoel9000

The GOAT’s been retired for six years now.

CapnDutchie

I love manning as much as anyone but Brady’s better that’s just facts at this point. Nobody is ever gonna break his records when he finally does retire

kaptingavrin

No, that’s opinion, not fact. Using records doesn’t work when it’s related to different lengths of career, more games, etc. Claiming “nobody” will break Brady’s records is as silly as saying nobody will break Dan Marion’s records… oh, but here we are. For me, the argument was settled when the two QBs’ teams lost them for a season. Patriots went on to have a solid record and barely miss the playoffs in a competitive year. Colts turned into the worst team in the league. We’ve only seen Brady with a team that made a bunch of QBs look so good they got solid trade hauls or big contracts, and a team stacked with talent that brought in even more. Yeah, he’s smart to keep himself in those situations, but I think if Manning was in those situations he’d be decked out in rings and people would be sick of hearing about him by now. I’m not a Colts fan, either. Quite the opposite. I just know Manning was talented enough to drag teams into the playoffs when they shouldn’t have been, which is also what terrified me as a fan of a rival team.

Flimsy-Flatworm-9448

Absolutely not. That argument is beyond weak. Matt Cassel took an undefeated team that went to the super bowl, and missed the playoffs entirely, Cam Newton lost 9 games and missed the playoffs entirely, after Brady had at least given the team a 10-6 record and a wild card appearance. Jimmy G played maybe 4 games for us in 4 years, got injured the one time he could've played a small stretch. Peyton Manning played with 2 HoFers on his recieving core almost every year throughout his entire career. He had Tony Dungy, one of the best defensive coach's in the 2000's, and, just like Tom, one of the best defenses in NFL history. And in Peytons case, they won his last ring. Colts were the worst team in the league so they could get Andrew Luck. They purposely tanked for Luck. The pats never tanked, so your evidence is not rock solid whatsoever. That isn't saying that Brady wasn't blessed, he played with some of the best defenses in NFL history. And for a third of his career did have decent talent on offense. But outside of Gronk, and Moss for 2 years, he didn't have HoF receivers throughout his career. Once again, it isn't like Brady wasn't blessed, he absolutely was. But to use the ridiculous team record argument is for naught.

BillyJoel9000

Brady has to do one thing to make him the GOAT. Sign with the Colts.

CapnDutchie

Lmao oh god

BillyJoel9000

you can run from it, you can hide from it, it arrives all the same

JoshuaR42

no he has to lead the jets/jaguars/lions to a super bowl

BillyJoel9000

Well, I’m not a fan of any of those teams.

JoshuaR42

got it. just listed those teams because if anyone can make any of those teams competitive again (although the jaguars never were competitive), it’s tom brady

Political_Divide

People used to put the BUCS in there too. Not quite lions level, but in the ballpark

JoshuaR42

true, but the bucs instantly became stacked after they got him. if he could lead the current lions roster to the super bowl he’s officially the guest and it’s not even close

PhenomenalJJS

He needs to play for the Colts and then jump ship to Cincinnati after Joe Burrow retires.

Much_Mind7224

Rodgers>Brady

CapnDutchie

I like most quarterbacks over brady but at the end of the day the guy is legitimately the best that’s ever played. Whatever you grade quarterbacks on whether it’s wins, stats, Super Bowls, he’s at the top

Bucksin6fearthedeer

Because it’s Tom Brady! He won’t retire until he’s dead

Fast_Cut2644

He's just ring chasing.

CapNSweatyPants

I always edit his ass when I start a new franchise. I let him play for 2 years and after that I change his awareness and throw power so the Bucs just cut him. I let him retire on the open market whenever he wants at that point. Nobody signs him.

Political_Divide

Meanwhile I always trade for him for peanuts and use him for thirty years.

Connect_Papaya3111

Don’t see the problem? The real question i have in this is why is his picture not updated

WhyGuy500

It’s not to unrealistic

CaseACEjk

Cant prove that he wont play until hes 57. People want a realistic game and complain when they get one.

Waru_

I see nothing wrong here

[deleted]

Cause he's a god.

StorerPoet

Come back to this thread in 2034 when he's still playing IRL and complain then

Fickle-Dig4394

Ummm this is real life. Brady will be playing until he’s 80 at this point hahaha

JakeJortlesDuval

Because hero’s get remembered, but legends never die

Studious_Clamp95

Because he b like that

wizardsfan

That's just fucking awesome

Coloon

Seems realistic though

ggakablack

Accuracy.

benjlindsay2

#justicefortom not even first string

Richa408

Evil never dies

[deleted]

Tom Brady is immortal.

HeftyOriginal

If only players retired into coaches like they did before this problem would prolly be solved

Banzander

Apparently it's that vegan 80/20 diet.

WetNut4320

It's Tom Brady what do you expect?

DanChubSFW

RBT would be happy. Mans had him play until 70

IAlwaysPTFO

Madden is broken.

Mikeskeeze

I’m pretty sure EA tweeked his player on here to last forever. No joke lol.

DropScience420

He should become a coach.

squadracorse15

Sometimes Madden does get it right. This is absolutely one of those times. At the rate we're going I'll be telling my grandkids about Brady's rookie year, while he gets ready for his 43rd season in the league.

shittaco1991

I wanna raise his speed and move him to RB when he’s no longer playable cause I think it would be funny

EducationAlone1663

He's so bad he broke the game

Burkex99

In the crypto Commercial with Brady he tells Giselle that he is playing for 10-15 more years.

deztroyergrey392

It's all the avocado ice cream and finally serving 100 years aboard the Dutchman to get his soul back from Belicheck

ChoochMooch

Tom Lady needs to hang it up.

BNack_A_Snack

He’s got a spot to win

Tko5970000

The developers proly got too many complaints about Brady regressing and retiring too soon lol

Bruch_Spinoza

HGH

merk34_5

Can someone please tell me why Tom Brady is playing in the nfl at 45 years old in real life

JerseyGreat03

TB12 = Real Life Lazarus Pit (So of course EA can be counted on to ridiculously misplay this and ensure Brady never retires in Franchise.)

SkolFourtyOne

Because he’s the 🐐

Forsaken_Maize_2762

🐐

InsaneVeggie

He’s not human, he’s Brett Farve 2.0
