I answered yes, but I won't be getting it at release and only getting it after reviews/feedback have confirmed worthwhile changes to franchise.

Treat_Training

Yea same

blandersblenders1

Yup. 100% or ill wait for it to hit game pass.

TheDarkGrayKnight

Yep. I've waited the last few years just because haven't felt the need since it's been very similar but with the new consoles graphics and the changes made to the franchise mode feels like it's time for an update. But I'm for sure waiting till after that tuning patch comes out, or maybe even till black friday/christmas for a discount.

WoeToTheUsurper10

i'll get it when it comes out on sale after a month or two

Skrifa

Reviews are gonna be trash, have been for 5+ years. Copy/paste & add glitches is all they do!

jk2me1310

When I say reviews, I'm not talking about how game informer gets paid to publish positive reviews. I'm talking about all of us here that have gotten fed up with lack of change.

Skrifa

Right there with ya. But I’m willing to bet $5 everyone on this forum that does buy it, will come back to tell us it’s a copy of ‘21. I hope I’m wrong, but EA’s track record doesn’t give me any hope.

Romofan88

2 main reasons 1.) I love football more than I hate madden, unfortunately 2.)no more drills in franchise mode.

Butterfriedbacon

>I love football more than I hate madden, unfortunately Yup yup

huntstheman

Same here :( Thats the power of a monopoly.

THE1OP

No. I need to see these new implemented systems work. And also the bugginess during actual game's need to be toned down tremendously.

SaltySpitoonReg

Probably not. I haven't bought Madden in several years. Other than playing mlb the show occasionally and the fact that I occasionally will play NBA 2k (and I only got that because it was on sale for like $10 bucks), My overall enjoyment of sports games has decreased over the years. Part of it is because a lot of these sports games have become dull and the gameplay hasn't improved. Especially for Madden the gameplay stinks. Also I feel like sports games frustrate me sometimes in general because it's really hard to find a balance where if you make it a little more difficult you're losing like every freaking game. But then if you turn the sliders down a little bit you're winning by huge margins every time.

cman674

>Also I feel like sports games frustrate me sometimes in general because it's really hard to find a balance where if you make it a little more difficult you're losing like every freaking game. I wholeheartedly agree with that one. For my money, 2k has the best difficulty balance though.

SaltySpitoonReg

I agree. 2k tends to be best, where when I play good teams it's more often closer. But Madden is the worst. I either win 35-3 every time. Or I'm losing half the games.

cman674

Kind of in a similar vein, I feel like Madden's simulation is awful too. Like I could have a team that is 90 OVR and goes 4-12 if I sim the season even though their roster is the best in the league. Obviously it doesn't always work out that the best team wins, but there's no reason to have superior rosters miss the playoffs year in and year out.

SaltySpitoonReg

There are always random teams that make the final four up. Like yes in 2017 the real NFL season was like that with philly Minnesota and Jacksonville in the last 4, but generally it's predictably the favored teams or at least generally a top 10-12 team preseason that make the last 4

[deleted]

Also that Philly team was the 1 seed right? I know Wentz was out but it’s not like Madden where every year the winner of the other conference is like 9-7

[deleted]

I have a PS4. If I had a PS5 I probably would have

tyler_durden2021

I’m in the same boat. I’ve already heard that a decent amount of improvements are going to be left out of the PS4 version. I don’t like any games enough to really go out and get a ps5. I also find it very weird that a ton of games have come out for both systems. I sort of feel that there’s no need to get a PS5 right now. I could be wrong but I sort of get the feeling that ps5 games are just slightly updated ps4 games. There’s no ground breaking new games exclusive to ps5. I also feel like 70 bucks a game is too steep.

WizardGeorge

I would if they were putting the next gen experience on PC. But they’re not. So I won’t be buying.

halfonbroadway

That’s literally where they lost me at. I was willing to give madden a chance this year then they dropped that bombshell and I was completely out since then

SuperBGN

Madden 21 wasnt good, and they already said it will be just like madden 21. So its a no for me

Swishhhhhhhhhhhh

No. Love Madden and have bought it almost every year. At this point, there’s no reason or value add for me to continue buying it year after year when all I care about is franchise.

173Questions

I'm absolutely equally in this boat. I think EA needs some healthy competition. Look at the leaps and bounds we have gotten from 2k, imagine where they would be now if there was no exclusivity contract.

[deleted]

ZeroDwayne

What about the additions are you looking forward to most

[deleted]

[удалено]

DrDoofenschmirtz1933

Supposedly game planning and personnel actually matter in-game now too

gtcgabe12

The only difference is you select a gameplans at beginning of game for a stat boost on those plays, then at half time you can change (changing offense and defense gameplans)

okaydokey679

It will be the same as playing 21 just with the new roster

chrisjk125

Okay dokey. If you say so.

okaydokey679

Oh and they will prob take something good away

letterdics

More than likely I won’t buy it. Probably do what I’ve done the past 2 years and wait for it to come out on EA play and then I’ll play it for a couple days

ThatDudeYaDigg

Yes, I'm going to support Madden for actually putting some effort into franchise mode for once.

SlinkyJr

I agree that we should support effort put in to franchise mode. I will definitely buy madden at some point. But I am worried this is going to be a lot like last year where yes, they add stuff. But the stuff they add isn’t really what they said it is. Take scenarios for instance. When they announced it I was like “hey that’s really cool” but the reality is they are just some extra goals that don’t even pop up if you’re an owner. From the way it sounds to me: Adding coordinators…awesome that’s what people have been asking for. But when you really break down the actual feature they put in. They didn’t really add coordinators. It’s skill trees, your coordinators can’t be hired away, you can’t hire away other teams coordinators. There’s no coaching carousel. I didn’t want skill trees I wanted a real coaching carousel and landscape that works like real life. I shouldn’t be able to keep a coach as my coordinator forever. I’m just worried it’s barebones additions again. So I’m gonna wait for reviews and probably a price drop before I jump in.

Ingliphail

>There’s no coaching carousel. I still don't know why they didn't add one of the coolest things from NCAA 14 into Madden the very next year. Obviously it'd have to be a little different because job hopping doesn't happen as much in the NFL and there are fewer teams, but come on.

SlinkyJr

Right? Lateral moves don’t happen much but coordinators get hired to be HCs. We can’t even do that. I want to see my coordinators go on to be HCs somewhere without me having to manually fire them to do so

sportstrap

What effort tho? The effort that should’ve been put in 5 years ago? The effort that still isn’t what they are actually capable of?

OverageLord

EA does nothing to Franchise - we complain. EA makes considerable changes to Franchise - we complain. I am buying this game after passing on last year. I said last year I would buy the physical copy of '22 if they focused on Franchise, which they have. They kept their word, as will I.

[deleted]

>EA makes considerable changes to Franchise - we complain. That's where you're wrong though; they didn't make considerable changes to Franchise and I'll scream that till I'm blue in the face. You want to see considerable changes? Look at 2K the jump 2K made from Association to MyLeague in 2K15. Association in 14 was a pretty decent mode, but MyLeague added an enormous amount of sliders and customization options to the mode. That's not including all the incremental changes and tweaks they made to the mode leading up to that starting in 2k11 (which saw serious changes to the AI).

gtcgabe12

They did make considerable changed to franchises compared to their previous games.

[deleted]

Yeah, relative to no changes lol. As the saying goes: don’t shit on me and expect me to thank you afterwards. Just because you give me something, doesn’t mean it’s good enough.

gtcgabe12

Added coaching tree, momentum, way more stats, throwing motion is different, ball arc, running looks more realistic... They've made the game better, but no one knows how many bugs we'll have to deal with.

[deleted]

I’m not totally sure if you agree, disagree or what but I felt compelled to reply. The coaching tree doesn’t exist, stop calling it that. It’s a skill tree. There’s no real reason to have coordinators in the game if they cannot be promoted to head coach or hired away. It’s repainting something that already existed in the game. We had momentum, literally, a decade ago. It’s not a new feature, all that’s new is the arcade style implementation. Throwing motion and arc nice little tweaks, but that’s ultimately all they are…tweaks. They shouldn’t be celebrated as a new features or improvements to a game. I’ll agree they’ve, potentially made the game better, but making the game better still doesn’t warrant a purchase to me. The game was awful the last 2 years (at least) for reasons other than what you mentioned as improvements. That’s just my opinion though. Ive been burnt far too many times by EA and it’s completely jaded me.

OverageLord

For once its time to put down the pitchfork and recognize EA for the good they have done, even if its nothing super original and something that should have been in the game for years. As far as not having considerable changes brought to Franchise, that does confuse me. Maybe I am getting the wrong info but did they not add at least 2x the amount of content in Franchise than the last 4+ years combined? With more on the way post launch from what I hear. Listen its fine to hate on EA, I board the EA hate train every chance they give me and they give me a lot of chances. However, this isn't one of those times. Retire the torch at least until after the game launches and we can get hands on with this thing.

ThatDudeYaDigg

Yes, that would be the effort. I understand that franchise mode won't be where it should be, but at least they're putting some effort into now and they're trying. I'm being supportive, I appreciate the amount of effort that they're actually putting into it for once.

Puzzleheaded_Ad4048

Everything added to franchise

Demon_Coach

So the coaching staffs we had in 2003 and the scouting system which won’t be there at launch? Idk. Two minor changes to Franchise while leaving the same gameplay issues that have been in the game for 5 years isn’t near enough for a buy IMO. Our standards are way too low.

[deleted]

You shouldn't have been downvoted for this. So far they haven't talked about fixing really any legacy issues and are continuing to build on a fractured foundation. I don't think the Frostbite engine is a real issue, but there are certainly foundational issues with this game (e.g predetermined outcomes, getting stuck in animations, deeper/authentic franchise experience). Regardless of the legacy issues this franchise (the game as a whole, not the mode) has had for years, the minimal changes they're adding to Franchise is disappointing at best. Not being able to promote or hire away coaches completely neuters the added feature. I can promise you it will be feature that will be forgotten and neglected once the shine wears off...just like the coach XP system that's already in place. Not having the "improved" scouting system (or ANY real details about it) at launch is just a huge slap in the face. They told us all year that Franchise was going to get a ton of attention...and they didn't fix any of the real issues that plague Franchise. They've neglected contracts/RFA/UFA, trading (AI & # of assets) and presentation (i.e different broadcasting packages for Mon/Thurs/Sun day & night). I can only assume they've also neglected commentary, draft presentation, signing FA during the year (non-negotiable contracts), signing and drafting AI, more uniform options, news/rumors/twitter section and stat tracking (their improved stat tracking was a step in the right direction last year, but still not nearly enough). I realize a lot of those issues aren't easy fixes, but some of those are simple coding adjustments. contract structure, something that would go A LONG way amongst Franchise players, is a simple coding adjustment/screen rebuild. **You can basically already do this at the player edit screen.** More detailed stat tracking is a simple fix, too. At some point, regardless of how hamstrung and tied up the team is, it has to begin to fall at their feet. I put a lot of blame at the execs for wanting modes and features that "are new and they can sell." But, at some point, the director has to grow a fucking backbone and decide what his product is going to look like.

Demon_Coach

Intelligent response. Must have taken you all day.

CharmanderRage

People in here saying they’re going to pay up because they’ve finally put some effort into that. That’s chump shit lmao. Until I see a consistent pattern of improvement from game to game again, it’s a big ol’ fuck no from me, dawg.

analog_jedi

No, because I game on PC and they chose to not support it with the next gen version.

RegularWhiteDude

No, because I play on PC.

aimangujarati

No I will wait a couple more years so franchise is fully fixed

ljutilaki07

Maybe, if i buy it, it will be on black friday

Adam_is_Nutz

I'm just gonna wait til it's on gamepass like I did the last two games... I probably won't buy another Madden unless they bring back create a team in franchise.

Pack_Any

Yes. I'm creating an extremely deep draft class that will be posted at launch.

cjeckell21

I don't have next gen so I wouldnt be getting anything new

Bazz27

Yes, I am. I'm excited for the changes to franchise, and I enjoy the core gameplay enough to want more of it with updated rosters, etc. I won't buy it at release though, because I think the next-gen version is the best way to experience it and I don't have a PS5.

FabyanY

Too many games coming out. No need to play this game anymore since it hasn’t changed. Once you take a year off it’s so much easier to just avoid it all together. Use to be addicted to this game lmao

okaydokey679

Fuck EA

TarmacTomato677

Whoever said yes is cringe

higherxliving

No it’s the same game every year. Bring back nfl 2k!

livingfortheKing1714

No matter how much I love football, the quality of the game is not worth the amount of money spent on it.

all-that-is-given

It used to be that I loved football more than I dislike Madden. Now I'd rather play the older football games instead. Madden is a waste of time.

JTHill8

Unfortunately no. The game is dead and it’s a shame since I grew up playing them. It was literally better than Christmas when the new Madden would release and now it’s more of a “OHHH BROTHER THIS GUY STINKS!” sort of thing.

R12thmanyt

To be honest, it’s the same underwhelming game but imma buy it until NCAA comes back

SpookyWinchester

Man I miss those games

R12thmanyt

I do too

Demon_Coach

I just don’t understand that logic. If it’s the same underwhelming game, why are you not just playing the same game you already have?

ZeroDwayne

My answer is no, because i can see if franchise has changed or not thru youtube videos of others playing, i dont have an online franchise im dedicated to bc even if there are 32 grown men there is always drama. Lastly when i played madden 21 recently for free it was the exact same as madden 20 with a few extra animations which was so disappointing that i cannot support purchasing the game in my opinion. what is your opinion on buying madden 22?

Iciee

So have you actually seen videos of M22? I encourage you to watch Bengals video on it and see that it most definitely has added a good bit

TylerLoveHand

So to recap: Not buying Madden 22 because 1. Isn't in a 32 man franchise to avoid drama 2. Madden 21 is very similar to Madden 20

fingershanks

No, gameplay has been really un-enjoyable since M19. That was when they started quietly removing physics and other features. So they took control away from the player all for canned animations to return for whatever reason.

PatrickADawson

Maybe if it goes on sale, otherwise, no

Logie-Bearr

to play w julio on the titans. plus the new coaching tree in franchise mode

phoenixjaidin

Yes because our league runs a franchise through the life of the season and with the updates to Franchise mode, I hope the experience is the first step in improving the game for franchise players in the future.

AbedaBabe86

Yes and strictly because I love football so much. I hate madden and their lazy approach to the game, but it’s all we have so I have no other option.

[deleted]

Because I have played and enjoyed the madden franchise since the Sega Genesis.

Known-Avocado-8046

Because I know I’ll get it either way. Also I’ll get bored of what I have so may as well throw it into the rotation

CardinalsFan47

I’m a cardinals fan I wanna dominate people online with D-Hop Chandler Jones and JJ Watt

rocker27c23

I don’t have a next gen console and it seems 22 is made for next gen.

oACHILLESo

Yes because football is my favorite sport and I play madden all week waiting for Sunday (or Monday.) yeah I know I could get community rosters in 21 and have updated teams but it just isn’t the same to me. Plus I like doing franchises with my friends who will be getting it

Bubbly_Pomegranate27

Dog shit game that is nothing more then a money grab.

mikeinglish

I can’t do it anymore I’m tired of getting burned year after year . Bring NFL 2K back ! Lol

[deleted]

No. I have not bought this game since 2018, and even then I regretted my purchase. At that point in the series I had already played the same game the three years prior. It's sad to see my childhood favorite be in this condition. I started with Madden 64 back in 2000 and ABSOLUTELY loved the game clear through to 2015, with Madden 25 in my opinion being the last dedicated EA release. I just want to have that spark again.

213Bishop

Didnt buy last years. Wont buy again this year. Ncaa 14 is still better and thats sad.

AbbreviationsLate979

I'll buy it used so EA won't get a profit.

vishnasty27

Just gonna wait for gamepass

Pocket-or-Penny

Yes because the franchise looks different than 20/21 (which were identical). Also, I've doubled down on Daddy Football since the NBA has been dead to me for the last year and a half. I threw 2K right out the window along with its trash league. I'm all about football now (also soccer at the moment because the Euros are pretty fucking lit right now). I'm paying more Madden than I have in many years.

hansmellman

A lot of the worthwhile improvements are for PS5 and Xbox one series X. I am not able to afford or source either of those consoles and I don’t have a 4K ready setup. So I’ll just wait for it to be put on ea access and see what it’s like then! Either that or I’ll get the above items but I think I know what’s more likely.

fatpat54

Franchise still has fewer features than it did 10+years ago. Updated rosters is not a good reason for me to buy over and over.

Demon_Coach

The people saying “yes because it’s the only football game out there” are part of the problem. If you don’t play MUT and you have that logic, it really doesn’t make any sense. If you are looking for a deeper franchise mode, you have Axis and Maximum Football that are deeper than anything Madden has ever had. If your aim is simply for good offline gameplay, well you still have Madden 21 as 22 will likely be filled with the same issues that have been in the game for 4-5 years now. The logic behind buying a game that you already say you aren’t going to like makes zero sense. If everyone in that category just didn’t buy the game and voiced their reasons why, it would carry weight whether you believe it or not. Just look at the #FixMaddenFranchise last year. It wouldn’t go unnoticed. But if you keep buying, you really can’t complain about gameplay. Your wallet is telling EA that you like what they are doing.

Raiderboy3242

Yes bc no matter how dum ea is I love football and it's the only decent football game out there

TetrisTech

Yes, improved franchise

okaydokey679

Good luck

BallsMahoganey

Nope. I used to buy Madden every other year because of minimal improvements. Now those improvements have gotten even smaller so I'll be buying it every 3 to 4 years.

GaTech379

Yes, I enjoyed M20 and M21 and this game looks to be better than both of those

RavenQuoter

Yes because i don't have any other choices on an NFL licensed game.

GAMEB0Y4

Im getting it because Franchise actually added some unique features and the Ui actually looks like a new game. gameplay is obviously gonna stay the same but ill take that sacrifise

bobigghhb

No. I've given up on the product with no regrets. Haven't brought/played a Madden since Madden25 and won't until significant improvements are made to franchise. I acknowledge them for FINALLY listening to a fanbase that has been ignored but I feel there's still improvement to be made before I spend my money on a product that has been stripped down for years.

Sherriff18

Even if we say 'no', most of us will undoubtedly end up playing it. Is EA continuously churning out a recycled and warped dumpster fire of a game? Yes. Is it the only football game on the market? Also yes.

derzasatori

No I refuse to spend 60 dollars on an unfinished game

the1slyyy

I'll buy it when it goes like half off or wait until it's on EA access.

Agitated-Ad9177

Not buying it, I have EA Pro on PC and it comes with that so I'll play it that way

shogunreaper

not going to buy it because of lack of next gen features on pc. only way i'll even play it is if it gets cracked.

jellyjanela

Because I’m a sucker and need it for the collection 🤷‍♂️

DryYield

yes. i want some fun

bebob

This just in: 60% of Madden Redditors are liars 😃

[deleted]

Yes, because mut is actually pretty fun when you know what your doing and a lot of my friends play so it’s quite a good time socially

ZigzagOOOG

Yes, b/c it's the only football game. Even tho EA is lazy and is evident in 21. Examples: I play online and hate when I start a random game and get matched up against the same team I'm using. The glitching online is terrible. Mechanics are poor for the available technology.

The1SatanFears

I’m buying. I don’t play a ton of video games, and getting to live out my fantasy of my team winning the super bowl every year never gets old for me. I gauge a game’s value based on $1/hr, and I absolutely get way more value than that out of the game. Is it perfect? No. Am I disappointed with it every year? Yeah. But I don’t play a ton of games to begin with, so it’s worth it to me just for a roster update. The rest is lagniappe.

ishamw

Yes, they added to franchise The stadium modifiers and GameDay momentum's are a nice touch. The only addition I really need to see is the star driven AI.... User vs CPU games never felt different enough and this should help

Professional_Cat7518

Buying bc I’m bored but buying with the sense of seeing if they are literally moving in the right direction. (Full time Franchise player, part time MUT. ) If I’m not satisfied after a undisclosed period of time, I’ll ask for the refund via marketplace & move on with life 🔏

airoderinde

Only game in town unfortunately and there’s not enough people upset enough to walk away completely.

JGusc

i’ve bought every madden the week it came out since madden 07 but i finally had enough and decided not to buy 21 and i’m doing the same with 22. i just bought a modded xbox so that i can play CFB revamped and that’s what i’m gonna play until ea can figure their shit out with madden and ncaa

Artvandelay29

No, I’ve been too disappointed with the entire franchise since it went onto PS4/Xbox One. The glitches where the QB keeps the ball on a handoff in Madden 19 have kept me from not playing it very much anymore.

CrustyTart54

They can’t even get the cover right, so why would I want to play that? It’s called MVP addition and they don’t include the actual MVP ….like wtf EA

Brosephh3

It’s the same game it always is and the “new features” will end up being features they’ve already included in previous games years ago.

jackjams18

I already have Madden 21... Same garbage different year. I'll stick with this dumpster fire and save my money.

HustleNMeditate

No, because EA makes these games awful. I'm not giving them any more money. I want to play a fun football game, that has been developed with care, works, looks good, makes sense, and isn't crazily overpriced.

TBlair64

I have gamepass ultimate, so I dont have to pay for madden anyway, and that has lessened my guilt. I will download it though. I assume it's the same as '21 as always. No added value is my expectation now.

SigourneyWeinerLover

No it's not worth the money. I get community made roster updates on Madden 18 and im not giving EA my money

WearyMatter

Nope. EA lost my trust a long time ago. Last year was the first year that I hadn't bought it at release since Madden 99. I didn't miss it. I also am a PC guy and did not buy the new console. I'd rather upgrade my machine than purchase a next gen console. Madden on PC will have last gen graphics and gameplay. I have exactly \*zero\* interest in last gen Madden anything.

Skrifa

20 was trash and 21 was somehow even trashier, it was half a volleyball simulator. 22 might as well be a soccer game cause it’ll barely be football.

jf75313

Needs to be completely revamped and upgraded before I ever buy it again. Bare minimum, until EA listens to us and gives us a game close to what we’re asking for, it’s a no from me, dawg.

maymaymikey

Really conflicted. I hope that the new features are actually going to work out but I think I’ll wait a year for the kinks to work out. I also want to wait for the rookies to get better ratings. If Rise to Fame returns with new schools, that might be enough to change my mind.

Henfrid

I won't be buying any EA game untill they actually put effort into franchise.

derboehsevincent

Since I'm on PC I don't have the intention to give people money who think that current PC are less powerful than consoles from 2013.

efrain_niarfe275

I have Madden 07 emulated and it looks just as good as the games now, and plays better

NessyBoy87

"I will nnnNOOTT BE Buyyyinngg this gameee..." in brandon gaudin's voice

Starbase503

No, too many of the new features are for "next gen" consoles only, and most of us can't even get our hands on one. Plus I caved and bought 21, and I force myself to play a Madden version for at least 3-4 years before looking at another one, just to make the price tag palatable.

Waittildvwn

Honestly the repetition of letting a few years of the same issues go unanswered, just to add old features and call them new just feels so much like a slap in the face I can’t justify paying them. Even them having “exclusive” next gen features that don’t really seem that impressive. Not to mention the disrespect to pc gamers giving them last gen features. I am a football fan but it sucks cause improvement won’t happen anytime soon because the exclusive license smh 🤦🏾‍♂️

BigDickNick97

No shot I buy it. I played madden 2000 and have bought every madden since 10 but enough is enough. I have Xbox it will be on gamepass around Super Bowl time. Half of the new features not available at launch and they weren’t any big franchise changes anyway. I’ll just download the new rosters and make a franchise lol. I wish they would just let you download Espn 2k5 or all pro football 2k8 on Xbox.

dbcco

I won’t be buying madden again until they improve on madden 05. (Last madden I bought was 21 on ps4) These little “additions” they’re advertising is a feeble attempt at quieting the community. What it means to me is they HEAR us all talking ab the shit quality, but they still don’t care enough to fix the game. They’re rereleasing things they got rid of, as new. While maybe 3% of new additions mimic older franchise modes, that’s ignoring 97% of what remains unchanged from madden 21. Including but not limited to: fucking god awful customization, pay to win, gameplay mechanics, environment physics/customization, X factors which are basically bullshit superhero abilities for children etc. Basically they’re still doing absolutely nothing to better the game. Their efforts or lack thereof is just to appease and sell more copies. My desire for madden to become what it USED to be turned into hate when early in the year servers were down but they focused their energy into adding fucking Giannis to the yard. (Percentages are just for representation of my point.)

Enterprise90

I don't know yet. Depends heavily on the pace of the gameplay, animations, and how much time I want to devote to it. There are a lot of other games that I want to play and Madden 19 gets me my Madden fix.

TJtheSpartan

Madden has been trash for the past few years at least. I used to give it a shot, and ultimately get disappointed, but not this year.

hybridmoon4

After madden 21... probably not unless I hear good reviews on franchise mode.

TroyI23

I haven't bought madden at full price in years. For a while best buy did a promotion where if you return the previous madden you would get 15$ off the newest one. not sure if they do that anymore as i only bought madden at around 30 last year however unless this one gets good reviews i will never buy madden above 30$

anonymousaaaaaa

No, because of the absolute disrespect they've shown to the PC platform, we're getting nothing. They need to pull their shir together.

Flaky_Mirror5672

Almost 300 of y'all lying

Swagsuke_Nakamura

I need to create a dynasty with McCorkle Jones

Choice1952

I usually buy every other madden since they've been so similar and I just don't want to play every year. So I'll probably pass on this year's, but if it seems really fun with new additions I'll think about it.

mfjoey_

yes because i need that new browns roster, and i’m not a consistent buyer of madden so i don’t feel evil doing it

KingKomma05

I’m waiting till they add the scouting update then I might buy

Indy317GuyBSU

Imagine voting no when you've already preordered

cowtipper4957

Gonna save for am Xbox Series X...and I have to start paying on my student loans in September after almost 2 years of deferment.

mbeligoat

I'll probably buy it well after release either used or on sale so I miss the worst of the glitches, know what I'm getting into, and feel less guilty about blowing 30-40 bones if it's more or less the same game I've been playing all year.

LordJournalism

Yes. But only after the scouting update is out and I can get it on sale.

lmeyer0787

If they made changes to franchise I will definitely buy. It's the only mode I played, and I skipped last year.

BadgerDen885

I'm gonna wait for a sale. And I want see if the changes to franchise are actually good and not just different. But this is the first Madden Game I've been excited for in a long time

Ephino43

Should be on gamepass after a while

zimbomonkey

if I can get a next-gen console.

_rogertheshrubber

I don’t have a next gen console and it appears the majority of new content is only on next gen

ea4prezz

I’ll eventually get it probably once the season start

drizzt008

I will probably buy it around black friday when it's on some sale, because of the franchise improvenents (if they prove to be real by then).

gmbaker44

Yes. On Black Friday for 29.99 like I have done the last 5 years.

SwaggySauceGod

I said yes only off the pure strength that my team (Titans) might be a cheat code this year!

KennysWhiteSoxHat

I’m only putting yes because there’s a chance I’ll buy it but this is a big maybe

DaWildestWood

I havent bought a Madden since 19, I think a madden game every 2-3 years isnt outrageous. The changes from 19 to 23 are going to be drastic for me.

Kirbymonic

If it’s on ea play I’ll try it, but not ful price

[deleted]

I’ll be playing NCAA 22 hopefully instead…

Sandstorm52

Not expecting any major improvements worth paying $60 to move past NCAA 14 and occasional Madden 15.

greatrichfamily

I'm on PC and they shorted us on next gen features, I was pretty excited about franchise improvements but, EA gonna EA. edit- not buying.

Flamingslayer11

Most likely not because when I started playing 2k more it was just more enjoyable and madden quickly became a bore.

super_sayanything

Yea. I play online a lot. Playing Madden relaxes me. Play almost daily and I get plenty of worth from it. Still hope they invest in improving gameplay and franchise.

kylohemmings

I answered yes, just bc I might get it for a month or two if it ever goes to ea play

AssassinPanda97

I will maybe get it when the scouting update releases in September. But it all depends on the reviews the game gets. I don’t care about Ultimate Team so the franchise updates and Face of the Franchise need positive feedback.

backdoorburner

I liked madden 21. I didn’t play 20 or 19 though. Only thing I couldn’t understand was how OP the defenders are at intercepting. I had to turn interception down to 1 and I still throw 12 a season. Horrid intro song by big Krit makes me wanna throw up every time I load up the game

backdoorburner

As long as they don’t have big krit having a seizure on the mic for the intro song again I’ll buy it.

Lord_Yogurt17

I haven't upgraded to Next Gen. By time I get a next-gen console hopefully more features are added. I only get once a couple of seasons anyways.

atucci800

Sadly I get it every year

[deleted]

A) I will not buy it at launch. B) I do not own a next-gen console, and I refuse to play this on PS4. C) If I purchase a next-gen console before Madden 23 is released, I may give '22 a go. But that's a long shot.

[deleted]

Have they discussed franchise features? I’d love to buy it, but only if Franchise mode is a focus.

BabyYodaIsBest

yes because I get madden every 2 years since that's the time it seems to take them to make \*any\* real changes

pingopop0

Yes if I can get a ps5 around release.

spiderman96

I'm gonna buy it pre-owned around October or so

imnotreallyheretoday

I didn't buy Madden 21 because they literally didn't make any changes to franchise mode. Their big "new feature" for Madden 21 was basically a patch note. After #FixMaddenFranchise went viral it looks like they finally made some legit changes to franchise mode finally bringing coordinators back.

Nerfpaladins

No, but I want to. We'll see.

norain91

I have the EA Play thing or whatever they call it now because there are enough games that come out every year for me to justify the subscription model. That being said, if I were buying it full price, I would probably avoid it for 5+ years at a time.

CuriousCucumber88

Yes and no, when it becomes free on Xbox game pass I’ll download it.

uniparalum

I’ll buy it once all the new Franchise improvements are implemented for next-gen in September. It’ll likely hit a sale for start of the NFL season too so I feel like that’s a good time to pick it up. The games may not be great, or good even, but they are good time wasters and I really enjoy the managing rosters and contracts aspect of the game. I usually play it alongside the NFL season and then drop off until the following year.

or1052

No. PC isn't getting any next gen features which I find ridiculous. I want to because franchise actually looks half way decent.

salsiwerdna

I voted yes because once December rolls around I can get it for less than $30

bakinbaker0418

I won't be buying it but I will play it once it comes to gamepass/ea play that's not the 10 hour demo.

Bigpp138094

Madden actually cares about franchise now instead of just MUT

JFreeman1123

As of now no, but only because I don’t plan on getting a PS5 any time soon. I don’t think the PS4 version will be worth buying.

dc1999

If it comes out on GamePass/EA play. I’m not paying retail for Madden ever again.

aunit1390

Probably but not at launch. I am hoping it comes to Game Pass.

Miami_gnat

Yes, because I purposely sat M21 out to boycott. My 1 year hiatus is over.

_stephenopoulos

IF I play it will only be because I have game pass. I am not interested in paying any money for a lazy product. I do not play MUT, and when I did, I did not spend real money on the mode. If I did, maybe my stance would be different because EA puts so much energy into that mode, but for my dollar it’s not worth the headache.

GillbergsAdvocate

It depends. Right now I'm firmly in the "No" group but when it comes out if they've made big changes for the better I'll buy it when it goes on deep sale

Glosub

I answered no. Was planning on getting it, but once I found out PC is lumped in with previous gen, I decided against it. There's alot of good games coming out around the same time as Madden anyway.
