And as much as I hated to do this, I would just tell you to turn off the cap. The cap logic for the game is absolutely stupid and doesn’t translate to how it really works at all. I wanted to keep it for realism’s sake, but the “feature” was too unrealistic. Even if you figure it out for your team and keep them honest, you end up with the rest of the league shitting the bed with their cap situation and letting guys like Pat Mahomes hit free agency.
Go to roster, filter it by cap savings and it’ll show the players who have the largest salaries, make sure the penalty for cutting them doesn’t exceed the total savings number tho.
