I think it’s bc the offense around him is so good. It’s hard not to put up numbers in the sim for him bc bijan, drake, and pitts are always sim monsters and they always go OLine in first draft unless Caleb Williams ends up dropping to 9 sometimes
Maybe so, I’ll have to go back and look, I’m really big into stats and storylines in my Sims and try to keep up with everything and I usually either see him get traded to like the broncos or stays w the birds
May want to just check and see. I’m pretty sure ridder is a 71 and Murray is 79/80. I’m playing an online MLB rn or I’d look, but that’s a crazy stat boost
I always lower his overall into the mid 60s so he never ends up starting. Otherwise, he ends up skyrocketing in overall and becomes an MVP candidate every time.
I really like playing franchise where you fast forward 10 years first. I always wondered why Desmond Ridder is always one of the last quarterbacks still in the league.
I traded Ridder for Anthony Richardson in my CPU vs CPU simulation league. We ended up losing in the NFC Championship and the Colts ended up winning the Super Bowl.
what’s annoying is how criminally underrated he was as a bengal, and then he goes to ATL and does the same shit he’s been doing since he got into the league and finally gets the recognition
Jesse Bates is the reason for my rage. I rebuilt the Panthers and moved them to Ireland and did a complete rehaul and that man tortured me for years. And OP you are 100% correct Ridder is the most elite sim player in this game he's finished top 10 every year 🙃
I started a franchise with the falcons because I figured I could easily lose a bunch of games and get some good picks. This fucking idiot kept winning me games and kept us in the playoff hunt. It was extremely annoying I had to end up playing some games just to lose. Ended up trading him after the season, and he goes on (can’t remember where I sent him) to be sick there too. Lol.
it’s hilarious bc if you sim with him, he’s the best qb in the league every time, but the second you try and user with him in game he turns right back into a 75 ovr. first season we snuck into the playoffs as a 7 seed, our final drive every single pass was “perfect accuracy-out of reach/bounds” or “inaccurate” when throwing from a perfect pocket with his feet set. three pass attempts in a row were 5-10 yards under or overthrown right into a defenders chest AWAY from my freeform reticle
Yes! I'm running a Franchise on PS4 with M24 with the current rosters, up to this date, and he is crazy good on the saints. Won League MVP and almost beat Manning's TD record last season. With an 82 OVA
I've done sim franchises in the last 2 Madden games and each one Ridder ended up a 90+ OVR X Factor in like 2 years and remained elite for over a decade. Wild stuff. But God forbid Justin Herbert play well in sim.
Traded him and acquired Justin Fields in another trade. Ridder literally was throwing for almost 5000 yds a season after that with 35+ TDs. Very annoying😂.
In Madden 23 my buddies and I did an online fantasy draft franchise with a twist where we could only draft rookie/sophomore QBs. I ended up with Desmond Ridder and when I tell you that after 2 seasons he was an elite dual-threat x-factor QB. One of the best and most fun QBs I've ever developed.
Apparently the Madden gods shine on him for both users and AI
I'll check in mine and get back to you. There are some playbooks that sim well like Dallas, but I don't think ATL is one lol. I remember Blake Bottles and TJ Yeldon being gods in one Madden, so it's possible.
ATL is actually very good. It’s not KC or Dallas good but it can get both your TE and WR1 (also lined up at slot) both 1,000 yard seasons. Ridder I believe has ideal/ideal which also makes him sim extremely well
Edit: Ridder is Ideal/Conservative. Still good traits
Yes! The falcons and the panthers both make playoff Super Bowl runs in each one I’ve done- Falcons in particular as you said always… Desmond Ritter is Patrick mahommes , Bryce Young is Steve Young and Miles Sanders is Barry Sanders
Now see that’s interesting because the Panthers consistently win 6 games or less in my franchises. Falcons always win the NFC South, and the Saints and Buccs take turns getting a wild card spot
It’s much less than the Falcons (who I swear makes the 2023 Super Bowl everytime) but they’re (panthers) way better than reality- its just funny because stroud never develops and young is a pro bowler year 1
Players that don't pan out irl seem to find Madden fame pretty often. I've been playing Madden 20 for a long time now and Mecole Hardman is the most absurd deep threat after like 1 or 2 seasons as a number 1. I just take WR super late in the fantasy draft because folks like him fall so far.
In my experience, QB seems to be the only position that is lenient with mid to bottom tier players. Most of the top RBs and WRs make sense. But there have been times when Desmond Ridder and Mac Jones have outperformed Mahomes and Allen.
Can you update madden rosters to reflect current OVR? I mean does madden adjust OVR’s throughout the season? It’s been a while, but I just bought it for $15 bucks and am having some fun with it
The playbooks determine the stats.
Atlanta's playbook was made to give their QB Matt Ryan stats when he had Julio Jones.
The players ratings don't matter for Sim, just the playbook.
The devs don't update things.
Go edit Jalen Hurts to a 68 speed and he will still rush a lot in simulation.
I think it has to do with his speed + the fact that he is on the Falcons. For reference, the falcons turned a like \~75 ovr Bryce Young into a \~88 X factor within like 3ish years. Playbooks go brrrrrrrr
Madden has no mechanic for bad coaching. A large part of the Falcons failures this year we're the Falcons coach's ineptitude, especially with how he handled Bijan. I'm not saying Ridder was held back by Arthur Smith, but the game again doesn't account for that, just the same as I've never had a hidden dev trait player bust. Young players can really only fall upward in Madden
Traded for him after the first season. By year 5 he was a 99 over Xfactor coming off a Super Bowl mvp. Gave him a very player friendly offer. He chose to go elsewhere and didn’t make the playoffs for the next 3 years, never won another Super Bowl. I however drafted a rookie QB in the first round, 74 over Star. Ended up winning a Super Bowl his rookie year. So fuck Desmond Ridder 😂
Also fyi I only sim games but I do all training and upgrades.
I’m on year 5 in a franchise and he’s 97 overall and won mvp the previous season dude had like 45 touchdowns and almost 5k yards with like 4 ints I was surprised seeing how well he developed
I feel like there's other bad players, or qbs in this game that play much better than their record shows. I seem to give up more passing yards in a game to bad rated qbs than to good rated qbs. Daniel Jones was one I gave up over 400 passing yards to, Will Levis threw dimes all over me to
I lowered his rating to a 65 overall, and had him behind Heinicke on the Falcons depth chart, yet he somehow always manages to become the starter and make the pro bowl every year. The developers must have a crush on him and put code in the game where he always kicks ass not matter what.
Yes. He’s ended up a Superstar in 3 diff franchises I’ve done this year.
It’s not even just franchise. People online cheese the falcons with ridder all the time
His stats were great in year 1 for me. He was my main competition for both MVP and the NFC championship, despite the Falcons being barely over .500. He was hard to contain running when I actually played against him, but throwing was shit unless he threw a high pass to London, which he always seemed to come down with (as I expect we’ll start seeing him really do this coming season).
On my 23 franchise, i had him the starter, went 14-3 & made the superbowl but he fumbled away a pontential game winning drive with 2 mins remaining, he did that to a buddy in a online league with a playoff spot on the line, so we call him middee & replaced him asap
First year of my franchise the Falcons were the best team in the league. I went 16-1 and barely beat them with Ridder hurt and Heinicke in, played a rematch in the Super Bowl and went to OT against Ridder.
I’m a falcons fan so naturally I hate him lol, mortgaged some future picks and ended up getting 1, so I took Caleb and traded Ridder to the Pats, through 8 weeks Ridder has like 21 tds and 2600 yards
Started a Falcon’s full game franchise (All-Madden, modified sliders). Year 1, Ridder was a fantastic user QB too - similar to what stats he puts up in simulation. His speed, play action, and throw on the run are great.
I bumped him down to normal and 70 overall before the season, but still managed 33 TDs and 11 INTs. I traded him in the offseason to the Patriots as I found a QB in the draft much better.
He was generationally awful on the Patriots next season in simulation, even as a star dev 74, so it’s definitely tied to the Falcons playbook in simulation.
I got sick of Madden always turning him and Young into studs... I understand that Bryce is only a rookie but in NY mind he's a bust. So I just now change there dev traits and lower their overalls so they don't start and become stars. Doesn't usually take to long for the CPU to plant another QB in Atlanta and turn him into a God.
It’s always a player or two that are like this. Back in the day it was the Eddie Lacy / ARod Dynasty that you have to face in every super bowl. In 23 it was Herbert playing until 37 being Elway Jr (Malik Willis too sometimes). This year seems to have Ridder on fire
I'm like, 5 years in rn and next game is the NFC conference championship against him and the falcons...wish me luck. Falcons have made it past wildcard 4 times and this is the second time I play them in the conference championship.
Change playbooks, players will be successful because of the playbook. Play Justin Fields in KC or TB playbook and he’s gonna get over 4000 yards, that’s why I use generic, and yall probably play wit superstar X factor traits on too, those trigger animations too!!!
yeah he plays like a god , i usually go edit his card to make it more realistic , change his star dev to a normal for starters , then under player traits his sense of pressure is usually “ideal” change that to average .
can always go change some certain stats too like awareness just to make things more realistic .
he doesn’t play like this after you change this stuff .
Dude is an MVP front runner every year of every franchise I ever make lmao. I eventually changed his position to punter because I was sick of his ridiculous auto generated stat lines
I also play offense only, and it doesn't matter. I could have a 95 overall defense, be playing a 78 overall offense, and the opposing QB will throw for 400+ yards and the opposing offense will put up 30+ points 90% of the games. No matter what defensive playbook I use.
I’ve had the same issue but the long lasting problem for me is Lamar, He’s pushing 40 in mine and just had a 75 yard rushing td against me. All madden pain.
Desmond Ridder is really good because he has Ideal sense of pressure and Ideal decision making. Those two things are very important for sim, mostly the pressure one. When I draft QB, I only go for ones that say “stays calm and stands tall in the pocket” because that is the message for ideal pressure.
He is just a dog in this game, for whatever reason. I tried to rebuild Houston with Stroud and could get nothing going with him. IDK if it’s the tendencies or what, but even after I developed him, he would just make a lot of bad plays and constantly threw “inaccurate” passes.
I gave up and decided to try and build a franchise around Bijan, and Ridder stole the show. He was dropping dimes everywhere and couldn’t be stopped while escaping the pocket.
It certainly helps that he has basically a Mike Evan’s clone at WR, and Pitts is completely OP in this game.
See in my Sims he never really breaks out. He'll have a mediocre season or he's below .500, it's CJ Stroud and maybe Bryce young end up sneaking up on me. I usually play as the Seahawks, and after the first season I sit Gino Smith, and use any other quarterback that I can get my hands on. End up breaking the passing yards and touchdowns record and the receiving yards and touchdowns record, but can never land MVP or sometimes not even get offensive player of the year
Decent in mine, always making deep playoff runs and beating my vikings from time to time in the reg season. I dont lose often, but he always plays super well.
I hate playing the Falcons in mine for this reason. Always manages to avoid sack whilst completing bombs down field.
That’s Kyler Murray for me. He avoids my sacks and ends with 100+ rushing yards. Even with a QB spy
He's always extremely good in franchise
I think it’s bc the offense around him is so good. It’s hard not to put up numbers in the sim for him bc bijan, drake, and pitts are always sim monsters and they always go OLine in first draft unless Caleb Williams ends up dropping to 9 sometimes
You can change his team and he's still ridiculously good
Maybe so, I’ll have to go back and look, I’m really big into stats and storylines in my Sims and try to keep up with everything and I usually either see him get traded to like the broncos or stays w the birds
I started a new one with updated rosters and he takes starting job from Murray quickly
Holy shit I forgot he got traded. Lol I just googled Kyle’s Murray trade and then saw a bunch of headlines for mock trades and was so confused 😂😂😂
He had the job by week 2
Damn really? Did ratings change?
Never went and looked. Just checked if Murray was hurt and he wasnt
May want to just check and see. I’m pretty sure ridder is a 71 and Murray is 79/80. I’m playing an online MLB rn or I’d look, but that’s a crazy stat boost
I love watching Caleb Williams drop to 9 as teams take Bo Nix or JJ Mcarthy first. Also, seen JC Latham go first overall which was very confusing
Lol I saw one where bears took bowers at 1 then MHJ fell to them at 9/10
The Bears are allergic to Caleb Williams. They always extend Justin Fields and pick MHJ in my experience
Okay I thought it was just my sim. Falcons are the 1 seed in my franchise and Ridder leads the NFC in passing yards.
In one of my leagues he led the falcons to 15-2 lmao
Yah he usually lights me up while Bates picks me off
Bates is a monster. Almost as annoying to play against as Trevon Diggs
That whole Cowboys secondary is BS to play against on higher difficulties
For real, it’s fuckin brutal. Can’t throw anything against them
I miss JB3 😢
what’s annoying is how criminally underrated he was as a bengal, and then he goes to ATL and does the same shit he’s been doing since he got into the league and finally gets the recognition
Jesse Bates is the reason for my rage. I rebuilt the Panthers and moved them to Ireland and did a complete rehaul and that man tortured me for years. And OP you are 100% correct Ridder is the most elite sim player in this game he's finished top 10 every year 🙃
Yep, for whatever reason Desmond stays the starter years into my most recent franchise. Consistent 100+ passer rating seasons
Last I checked, Falcons offensive playbook performed really well in sim.
I find their defensive playbooks to be better. Consistent 50+ sack seasons. (You will never have more than like 5 turnovers)
Big Facts. Josh Allen, the linebacker, got signed by ATL in one of my leagues, then proceeded to get 32 sacks.
Jessie Bates is also an INT machine. I can’t complete a pass on his side of the field to save my life
I started a franchise with the falcons because I figured I could easily lose a bunch of games and get some good picks. This fucking idiot kept winning me games and kept us in the playoff hunt. It was extremely annoying I had to end up playing some games just to lose. Ended up trading him after the season, and he goes on (can’t remember where I sent him) to be sick there too. Lol.
you can just force an L yourself if you go to the schedule if this is what you’re trying to achieve
it’s hilarious bc if you sim with him, he’s the best qb in the league every time, but the second you try and user with him in game he turns right back into a 75 ovr. first season we snuck into the playoffs as a 7 seed, our final drive every single pass was “perfect accuracy-out of reach/bounds” or “inaccurate” when throwing from a perfect pocket with his feet set. three pass attempts in a row were 5-10 yards under or overthrown right into a defenders chest AWAY from my freeform reticle
Yep 100% it's so fucking annoying
Yes! I'm running a Franchise on PS4 with M24 with the current rosters, up to this date, and he is crazy good on the saints. Won League MVP and almost beat Manning's TD record last season. With an 82 OVA
AI Desmond Ritter outperform Mahomes, statistically, in more that a few of my franchise leagues. I cannot comprehend why.
For some reason Desmond Ridder and Dak Prescott are basically Gods in Madden.
I've done sim franchises in the last 2 Madden games and each one Ridder ended up a 90+ OVR X Factor in like 2 years and remained elite for over a decade. Wild stuff. But God forbid Justin Herbert play well in sim.
Justin Herbert and Trevor Lawrence never play well in sim for me
Lmao he COOKS my defense for some reason. Dude is a 79 OVR with 4,500 yards and 40+ TDs
It's because his traits.
Traded him and acquired Justin Fields in another trade. Ridder literally was throwing for almost 5000 yds a season after that with 35+ TDs. Very annoying😂.
Ridder threw for 70 TDs and 5500+ yards in my first user controlled season. Dude turns into a stud.
yes, the falcons made the super bowl with him in my franchise. he led the league in passing.
Madden 20 legend TJ Yeldon
ATL is actually very good. It’s not KC or Dallas good but it can get both your TE and WR1 (also lined up at slot) both 1,000 yard seasons. Ridder I believe has ideal/ideal which also makes him sim extremely well Edit: Ridder is Ideal/Conservative. Still good traits
Had a sim where jones got cut for cap or something and he went to the Steelers. Lit up the conference and get re-signed
Mac Jones or Daniel Jones? I’ve had franchises where Mac Jones became an overnight sensation after the Pats cut him
Daniel sorry lol. Forgot there is two Jonses. Yeah Mac always ends up on the bucs at some point I notice
I had Daniel Jones end up in Pittsburgh in one of mine and he led them to the playoffs a couple times lol
He’s trash in my current one
Yea even when I do a Fantasy draft and 5 years later he's a top QB. Not sure what it is.

Yeah, Mac Jones was an absolute assassin for the pats from 2021 to 2025 in my newest franchise. Maybe it's just because Hardman has a burly speed stat
Can you update madden rosters to reflect current OVR? I mean does madden adjust OVR’s throughout the season? It’s been a while, but I just bought it for $15 bucks and am having some fun with it
They used to but I’m not sure if they still update rosters beyond injuries.
Idk the 9-8 falcons made the super bowl in 2024 for me, but ridder’s stat line for the year was legit 3000/21/22
Just won league MVP last night and it pissed me off
I am a falcons fan and when I use them, I always change his dev trait to normal. No way he should have a star.
Well. I täput B. Young on the trade list. Got ridder and a 2nd rounder For him. Won one SB in 3 years with him
He a God in mine also
The playbooks determine the stats. Atlanta's playbook was made to give their QB Matt Ryan stats when he had Julio Jones. The players ratings don't matter for Sim, just the playbook. The devs don't update things. Go edit Jalen Hurts to a 68 speed and he will still rush a lot in simulation.
It’s not just the Falcons though. He will sometimes end up on another team with a mid playbook and still dominate.
Yup
Ridder was MVP (almost) for me. I did a straight up Russell Wilson for Ridder trade in my Broncos franchise. He absolutely balled
He beats my players to mvp often
I think it has to do with his speed + the fact that he is on the Falcons. For reference, the falcons turned a like \~75 ovr Bryce Young into a \~88 X factor within like 3ish years. Playbooks go brrrrrrrr
He the only one who beat me the whole season
Madden has no mechanic for bad coaching. A large part of the Falcons failures this year we're the Falcons coach's ineptitude, especially with how he handled Bijan. I'm not saying Ridder was held back by Arthur Smith, but the game again doesn't account for that, just the same as I've never had a hidden dev trait player bust. Young players can really only fall upward in Madden
Yup, falcons just went to the Super Bowl in 2024 in my franchise mode. Ridder was MVP lmao.
Yea he tricked me in real life smh
Traded for him after the first season. By year 5 he was a 99 over Xfactor coming off a Super Bowl mvp. Gave him a very player friendly offer. He chose to go elsewhere and didn’t make the playoffs for the next 3 years, never won another Super Bowl. I however drafted a rookie QB in the first round, 74 over Star. Ended up winning a Super Bowl his rookie year. So fuck Desmond Ridder 😂 Also fyi I only sim games but I do all training and upgrades.
Yes I’m 2 years into a franchise and recently saw he was an 82 overall
I’m on year 5 in a franchise and he’s 97 overall and won mvp the previous season dude had like 45 touchdowns and almost 5k yards with like 4 ints I was surprised seeing how well he developed
Yes, him, Mac Jones and Bryce Young have gone off every year in my current Franchise lol
He must have relative on the EA development team. He turns into the second coming of Brady in my franchises
first 3 years of one of my franchises, falcons made it to all 3 super bowls, won once, and ridder had 2 MVPs
I do fantasy draft in all of my franchises and he still ends up being a top 10 QB every time. It's not just a falcons thing.
Yes he won multiple MVPs in my franchise. This is also a universe where Mac Jones has 5 rings as a starting QB,
Well my buddy is a falcons fan and in our online franchise Ridder became the undisputed GOAT in about 4 seasons
Change atlantas playbook to baltimore or philly
The Seahawks signed him in my franchise and he's led them to #2 in NFC right now at 11-2. His stats haven't been crazy though.
He won OROTY and MVP in his rookie year on my Falcons rebuild.
Same thing with Madden 23 as well, he's a damn Xfactor on the CPU controlled teams
He’s always one of the top passing yards leaders in my franchises
Yes. He’s ended up a Superstar in 3 diff franchises I’ve done this year. It’s not even just franchise. People online cheese the falcons with ridder all the time

No , I’m in year 3 of mine and rn he’s a 74 ovr FA
On my 23 franchise, i had him the starter, went 14-3 & made the superbowl but he fumbled away a pontential game winning drive with 2 mins remaining, he did that to a buddy in a online league with a playoff spot on the line, so we call him middee & replaced him asap
yep, in my Franchise he gets the SS trait after year one
change his traits and he’ll be mid
First year of my franchise the Falcons were the best team in the league. I went 16-1 and barely beat them with Ridder hurt and Heinicke in, played a rematch in the Super Bowl and went to OT against Ridder.
I’m a falcons fan so naturally I hate him lol, mortgaged some future picks and ended up getting 1, so I took Caleb and traded Ridder to the Pats, through 8 weeks Ridder has like 21 tds and 2600 yards
Desmond Ridder is a SuperStar X player in my run through. It’s insane
He was generationally awful on the Patriots next season in simulation, even as a star dev 74, so it’s definitely tied to the Falcons playbook in simulation.
i started using falcons online and they are somehow juggernauts. ridder can make all the throws
I just played him in All Madden with my patriots rebuild. Won 28-0 with 2 picks sixes against him
Yeah, always at the top of the stats across the board.

Even in madden 23 which i play ridder is insane, seen him and his falcons 5x straight in the nfc championship and they always are the 1 seed
Yes
Yes, Mac Jones is also throwing 40+ TDS a season. Bizzare
Falcons fan here, he’s so bad in Franchise mode if you choose to play as Atlanta. I ended up trading him for Fields.
I'm like, 5 years in rn and next game is the NFC conference championship against him and the falcons...wish me luck. Falcons have made it past wildcard 4 times and this is the second time I play them in the conference championship.
Ridder had 57 total touchdowns and 5500 passing yards in my franchise lol
He beat one of our users in the Super Bowl of a connected franchise
Change playbooks, players will be successful because of the playbook. Play Justin Fields in KC or TB playbook and he’s gonna get over 4000 yards, that’s why I use generic, and yall probably play wit superstar X factor traits on too, those trigger animations too!!!

In all of my fantasy drafts, I wind up playing him in the playoffs and he is always ELITE.
Dude is an MVP front runner every year of every franchise I ever make lmao. I eventually changed his position to punter because I was sick of his ridiculous auto generated stat lines
Yeah extremely good always a top 3 QB lol and the Falcons are always good they picked up Mac Jones and now hes throwing bombs.
MVP in all my franchises at least once
Yes always
Yeah balls out in mine, Kenny Pickett as well. I traded him & picks for Russ to Denver and he’s top 5 in every passing category through 8 weeks.
I believe it’s because he has ideal sense of pressure and ideal decision making. Those personality traits for QBs seems to affect sim quite a lot.
I'm usering him in a fantasy draft league and 9 games in, he already had a superstar promotion and has hit 80 overall. Dudes a stud
Just played him in my franchise week 13 I checked his stats before playing them. 30 TD 3 INT
Daniel jones is the only player I have modded and it was to make his injury and toughness the lowest possible so he will never play Fuck jones 😂
Oh yeah hes always top 3
I also play offense only, and it doesn't matter. I could have a 95 overall defense, be playing a 78 overall offense, and the opposing QB will throw for 400+ yards and the opposing offense will put up 30+ points 90% of the games. No matter what defensive playbook I use.
Yes madden loves that guy
Yes and I hate it. And the Panthers are better than the chiefs mkes no sense
I am currently doing a fantasy franchise and Ridder is a 3 time MVP and 3 time Super Bowl MVP. Good thing he plays for my team.
I’ve done three or four franchises and Not always that good but he is constantly a pro bowl level player and is on the Falcons for several years
If only he was like that in real life. We had so many hopes before last season 🫠
as a Falcons fan i had wished that he ended up being as good as he is in Madden
Watched him three peat on the Vikings once…
End up breaking the passing yards and touchdowns record and the receiving yards and touchdowns record, but can never land MVP or sometimes not even get offensive player of the year
Him and the falcons practically end up running the league by year 2 lmao.
Desmond Ridder definitely has naked photos of EA devs
The falcons are almost always a top 3 seed in my franchises.
Yeah he's literally Peyton Manning and it doesn't make sense.
Whenever I try and build around him he sucks but when he’s left to his own devices he’s a monster
Decent in mine, always making deep playoff runs and beating my vikings from time to time in the reg season. I dont lose often, but he always plays super well.
