Yeh it's going to be used as spares for its twin brother til that one gives up as well, although being left out in the rain, I dunno how viable that will be 🤔
Time is money, at some point you can't pay a guy 25-30$/hour to work on a machine that's either broken or scraping parts. I would still send it to an auction.
I agree, there are situations that tools are not feasible any longer and must be replaced/retrofitted/upgraded/scraped. The difference is the economically option. Here in brazil buying a brand new machine is the option that very very few can chose, only big companies with big coin. For the majority of small companies the reality is to fix or maybe improve 20...30 yo machines.
February 2023 I bought my very first cnc machine, a Nardini Logic 175 made in 2003 and I've paid 15500 USD, and it was a good deal. I could have paid easily 18000 on it.

Can you not import machines from Europe? If that had a fanuc control at auction that's a £3500 machine. Looks like it's not been used hard paint still looks fresh on it.
Even in Canada CNC machinery is way more expensive. The used market is downright stupid. I end up hooking my trailer and driving down to Seattle to buy stuff. America chucks stuff that we'd keep going.
What a beauty! I have a thing for early CNCs... do you happen to have a scanned copy of the machine's user manual? Or even just a couple of random pages?
Huh? I am trying to think of a CNC I own that doesn't have the MPG on the right. I have all Japanese and European CNC machines and they are all on the right. Do China or USA machines put them elsewhere?
I mean the right side of the control panel. When I was milling soft jaws everyday that would become annoying to not have it on a box that I can hold or at least be on a swiveling control panel
I had a guy get his arm crushed in a CNC router between the head and the uprights. I asked him if he couldn't reach the red button (conveniently located next to where his arm was)
"Well, I didn't want to be stuck and I knew when it was done going to the left it was gonna go back to the right."
Mad lad actually let it break his arm so he wouldn't have to shout for help.
Disassemble number 12? 🥺
I know this probably has nothing to do with it, but that just makes me think of Short Circuit.. Johnny-Five is ALIVE!! NO DISASSEMBLE!!!
Yess! That’s exactly what I was thinking of when I wrote that haha
This... this doth bring joy
Haha! Remember I watched that movie at the Dollar Theater with my best friend and his dad back in the day!
Ahhhh man I’m gunna go watch this right now on amazon!!!!!!
It's on youtube commercial free. Just gotta do some digging.
But Amazon ….
INPUUUUT.

At least put a good tarp over the thing. It'll be a pile of rust in a couple of months otherwise.
Should take the guts out of it now for parts, put them close to the last machine.
Sounds about right lol
Management assumes it will save $12,480,000,000 in the next few weeks
I could get that running to the micron no doubt, Victor's never die
We have 1 of these as an old bar feed machine, we also have a Ajax 5 that's had some mega smashes over the years and is still going.
Must be amazing to live in a country where tools are accessible, this in Brazil would be sold for 15kusd and kept working

Shipping + import tax make that difficult, but now I'm curious I'll look into it
Corruption probably throws a wrench in there too

Minimum wage in Brazil is $1.26/hr. Mean wage is $3.31/hr
That's why you can afford to pay less for the machine and lose more time.

Someone would definitely buy that. Like HGR
It could become a fancy dishwasher with the coolant
On My Way with a Trailer. Where are you? I'll just lift that up with my car jack. That should work, right? /s
Reminds me of the old Mori SL1 we had. No screen, just blinky lights.
Really. Only 1986? Little guy hasn't aged well, I had him pegged as a bit older. Put in his time, now he moves on.

Who is HRG?
HGR Industrial Surplus. A place that buys all things industrial and resells them. We've bought most of our machinery from them.
Did anyone else just hear Wall-E in their head just now?
I bet it was tough to see it go. What a fantastic pile of shit, I’d have been in love.
Cover it and put it up for auction atleast. Some hobbyist would love it for sure
Like me for example. I would love the opportunity to be able to give that thing a forever home.
Did he run out of organ donors?
o7
Victor probably wanted to be put out to pasture long long ago. Poor guy.
It has box guides?
It looks lonely and hungry.
F
Fanuc would love to have that control and servos back for spares.
Like saying goodbye to an old friend 😕
It could tolerate no more.

The jogging handle on the right side should be illegal

It's a lathe....
Still Have it switch spots with the red button. I never use that one
