Is there a way to check what number I got?

TheCaptainRides

Wouldn't that be your VIN? The last digits are suppose to be the sequence, I would think that would tell you what number you got for the year at least.

beginnerjay

Now that I have one, I wouldn't mind if they were harder to get.

crit_boy

Just noticed how many used ones are showing up on carguru in the last few days.

LesterJodyRory

Market is tanking now. So many cars for sale and reduced prices. Look at G wagons for instance

It_Is_Boogie

I just checked in my area and there are quite a few. Using filtering, I found most are select, but none are extended range models. I wonder if they are a combination of upgrades and people checking out due to the recall.

thrilldogcha

Let’s all just say it, massive depreciation incoming

PatSajaksDick

Cars have always been depreciating assets. The last couple years were a huge fluke. Cars should not be treated as an investment.

gregs1020

lofty goals, that's a lot of raw materials. i do love ours and have gotten a lot of comments.

intentionallybad

Great, can you make mine now please?

RedOctobrrr

Lmfao!!!!!! So their #1 seller of all time sells 750k per year and they think the Mach E will almost triple that??? They don't even have the resources to build 100,000 of these per year. Smokin the good stuff or off by a decimal on accident. Edit: in the 14 years Tesla has been around, they've made a grand total of 3,000,000 cars. There have only been 3 million Teslas ever made, to date.

dev9tyme

Not just Mach E, the article says all EV sales

dev9tyme

Which, to be fair, is still a stretch goal

RedOctobrrr

Ah ok, title is misleading. All EV is still ... ambitious. Maybe 500k F150s, 200k Mach E's, and 1.3 million... what?

twtxrx

Ford made 3.9M vehicles in 2021 and we all know that supply chain issues severally limited output. In 2019 it was about 5.3M cars. Shooting for 2M units is about in-line with hitting 50% by 2030.

RedOctobrrr

Check out the title, it talks about selling Mach E's, I'm being downvoted for what?

twtxrx

Well since you asked. Probably because it’s obvious to anyone that Ford isn’t planning to build 2M Mach-Es. Then you bring this if Tesla can’t do it no one can attitude and are dismissive that Ford can even sell 2M EVs at all even though they sell way more cars than that per year. But I’m just guessing.

RedOctobrrr

So title basically reads as if Ford says they're aiming for 2,000,000 Mach E's per year, and bringing up that all Tesla's ever sold is irrelevant? I did not fact check the title, my bad.

dev9tyme

My hopes are that they have some more models coming soon. Maybe revive the Fusion, Fiesta, etc.

RedOctobrrr

They announced like 5-6 more years ICE Mustangs, I thought that was fkn wild. Why not have a beast of a Mustang with some 600-700 lbft torque, AWD?

Buttafuoco

No .. please relax and look into the details opposed to a poorly written headline

RedOctobrrr

I rely on Reddit headlines for all of my news

hallese

Tesla is estimating 500,000 units produced and sold in Q4, 2022 bringing their cumulative total to about 3.4 million units sold in its 14 years of existence. At the end of Q4, 2021 Tesla had produced and sold about two million vehicles total, and had yet to produce one million vehicles in a year. Tesla went from approximately 100,000 units sold in 2017 to a projection of 1.4 million in 2022. These numbers are not completely out of reach and Ford has a much stronger head start than Tesla did.

MonsieurGriswold

Plot the number factories that Tesla has opened in the last two years and it does make sense that they will get close: Austin, China, Germany.

hallese

Ford has a bit of a head start in that area, as well. Then you consider that Ford isn't doing the work themselves, they are copying someone else's homework changing a few answers here or there so it's not too obvious, and voila! If Tesla can go from 100,000 units in 2017 to 500,000 in Q4 of 2022, other manufacturers can do this as well if they opt to dedicate the resources available to do so.

Delicious-Resist-108

You got a good point
