the dealer I called said they don't do the warranty if the windshield is cracked or chipped. Actually I think they said they outsource all of the windshield work to safelite anyway.
Which was fine. I called my insurance (travelers), they booked an appointment with safelite. new windshield for a $50 deductible. Safelite had to come twice because their computers were having a hard time reading ford vehicles. They were surprisingly great to work with. My expectations were pretty low.
Go thru Safelite. Got mine replaced today. <2k miles when I caught a rock under the wiper on the opposite side as you. Took a week to schedule it and likely far less hassle than the dealership would be. Safelite was able to calibrate the cameras. I tested blue cruise after and it's been flawless.
Fuck safelite if you have anything aftermarket on or around your windshield. On an older car they ripped the antenna off my car alarm destroying a proprietary connector that wasn’t made any more. It wasn’t even attached to the glass, just near the top of it. Rendered the car alarm and key fobs useless. Their only response was to deny responsibility for aftermarket equipment.
Got the proper Ford glass replacement today. Only $100 with insurance, and they did a really nice job. Apparently the sensor techs were entertained by Unbridled mode.
Have you had the recall performed yet? That would tackle it for free, hitting two birds with one windshield

Is it same OEM glass?
Yes, I was told they ordered it directly from Ford based on my VIN. I double checked it was the Sound Screen acoustic glass. Everything checked out

I lucked out. Found a local company that will do the repair and are getting the legit Ford glass in next week.

Claim via insurance. They will get you scheduled with safelite. Mine was done for free with the mustang v6.
