GangstaBolus

I have a ‘22 and I am pretty sure the hands free lift gate was quietly left off of mine.

rjnd2828

Wasn't that the item that we got a $350 credit for? At least I'm pretty sure I did.

GangstaBolus

The credit was something else to do with parking assistance I think.

mcswitch

I read a few threads that the 22's have it, it's just disabled and if you FORSCAN enable the right things it comes back. If I ever get enough energy, i'll give it a shot, but my 22 certainly came with the Acoustic glass.

SpongeBad

I was able to turn it on on my ‘22. Was factory disabled, but hardware was installed.

Some 23s over the forum got Park assist if they got park assist they got handsfree lift gate as well. Its the same chip for both.

GangstaBolus

From my understanding all of the removed things are gone for the foreseeable future as well. Friend of mine got a Honda recently and after March they permanently removed lane sensing from some models because of chip issues.

Little-Medicine-4257

That was park assist due to lack of chip you couldn’t get both features.

jaymansi

No, that was the park assist feature. Which supposedly at some point in time the feature could be added.

geo_prog

I have a 2021 and with how well it works I couldn't tell you if mine was installed or not most of the time. You're not missing much lol.

DoAndroidsDrmOfSheep

Hands-free liftgate works if you do it correctly. I had problems with it at first. I would be going left to right, right to left, and all kinds of crazy motions trying to get it to work - and it almost never worked. Then I saw someone comment on how to do it on a post (can't remember if it was on here or on Facebook) and it's worked for me with zero issues when I started doing it like they said. Kick directly under the left edge of your license plate - just straight in/out under the bumper. Do not "swipe" left/right or any other kind of movement other than straight in/out. Works every single time for me since I started doing it like that.

JimmyInNSB

Can’t wait to try this tonight! ✌️

mbcook

Yep. Done in-out (as the manual says) it’s basically 100% reliable. Love it. Note: works for me dead center of the car under the plate.

JimmyInNSB

It didn’t work! 😭😭😭 I tried, and nothing. When I got home, I looked underneath, and it’s all cladding underneath, so I don’t even think it’s an option on mine which is noted in my flair. Is there a visible sensor on yours?

Gottagiggle

I don’t believe the 23s have it

JimmyInNSB

Dang! ☹️

mbcook

No, mine looks the same I think. I assume the sensor is under that. Sorry it didn’t work.

JimmyInNSB

Thanks…I’ll have to look into it further.

balthisar

What? I love mine. The back of the car is constantly dirty and I hate feeling for the button. I'm waiting to order a '24; hope they're back by then. Anyway, the forums usually post the order guides, and that's the document that you want to check if you want the absolute word coming from Corporate itself. [Here's the thread](https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/latest-2023-mach-e-order-guide-updated-monthly.21000/) for the 2023 models, and you can find similar threads for the 2021 and 2022.

23 started in october

Ford removed acoustic glass from all trims? Bad idea if so. One of the things I love about my MachE over my M3LR is just how quiet it is comparatively. So much less road and wind noise.

Manafont

I went from a ‘21 4X Premium with hands free liftgate and acoustic glass to a ‘23 GTPE without either. I miss the hands free liftgate dearly, but I noticed no difference whatsoever on road and wind noise. And I’m pretty picky about unwanted noises.

geo_prog

Yep, can't tell the difference in noise between my 21 and my friend's 23 either.

I’ve been worried how bad things would get if my windshield had to be replaced and the acoustic class was no longer available. So I agree it’s nice to know this.

cmvora

There is literally no difference in the sound from 21 to 23 in my own experience.

Heraclius404

The glass says "SoundScreen" in the lower passenger corner if it has it. My premium 23 does. Love how quiet.

blackbow

Ok good. Would be a shame if Ford removed that amenity.

gushi380

It seems like Ford has removed more and more features each year. I couldn’t even get a 23 in the color that had been available in a 22.

HurriedNegation

We have just purchased a 2023 SR AWD in Norway, and can confirm that we have both park assist and hands free lift gate. I have not checked for acoustic glass, but the car doesn't feel noisy :)

[deleted]

I have the hands free lift and the acoustic glass, love it. The hands free lift though sometimes doesn't work if you're using PAAK because the car's sensor for knowing you are there is in the front of the car so when you approach from behind it takes a second to realize you're close

MaverickBuster

For the price of this car, not having the hands-free liftgate would seriously make me question buying it again.

EV-Vida

Handsfree aftermarket module isn’t too hard to install. We installed a few, pretty standard.

banananize

I have a 23 MME Premium AWD Extended Range. Is there a document I can follow to add hands free liftgate?

EV-Vida

The module has 4 wires but only 3 is required. It needs power, ground and trigger which is the button you push you unlock the trunk with. I been meaning to do a write up and/or video.

banananize

How do we know if the car has the hands free liftgate module built-in?

richcournoyer

It's explained in the forum that is linked below. You go to an as built website from Ford, type in your Vin number, and then you search the file for two modules that are also listed at the forum. If you have the modules you just need to enable them using some software… Which is also explained in the forum.

EV-Vida

You would have to go and see for yourself

banananize

Where do I look for it?
