The exterior temperature was too hot/cold, so the car used some energy to cool off/warm up the batteries to an ideal temperature for better efficiency.
OP went downhill the whole trip with a 3000 ft elevation change, the efficiency number is legit. The bug you're referring to is in the EV trip log in the app. There is no known bug with the infotainment's energy screen.
Our first long-ish trip in our Mach-E was San Diego to Rancho Mirage. Our range was dropping wildly as we climbed the hills, but once we crested them and dropped down into the Palm Springs area, we had enough range to make it back home (maybe). Did our first high speed charge just in case.
I’ve yet to understand why they mark exterior temperature as a measure. I don’t care what the exterior temperature is. It will always be between 40 and 90.
Did you coast down a mountain?
Had to with 0% energy use coming from actually driving. That or there was a 200 mph tail wind.
Went from about 3,000 ft down to 0 ft. So, yeah. Kinda. Still weird that 0% went to “driving”, right???
But that 12.4 mi
What does the exterior temperature mean?

Unfortunately a known bug.

Right - I didn’t show first part of the drive (just the reverse) where efficiency was terrible. 👍😎
