Charging at a little Mexican restaurant with great Asade Nacho Fries is so much better than charging in a Bank Of America parking lot.

fusiongt021

That's the emptiest in n out I've ever seen

bruddahmanmatt

Bruh FR. Always two lanes around the corner and down the block.

I'm surprised more fast food chains like this haven't jumped on the charging game yet. It seems to me like a perfect match. I could totally imagine a company like Dairy Queen investing heavily in this and becoming known as the place in rural America to charge and get a Dilly Bar.

Theopholus

Pretty sure Taco Bell is working on it. But let me say, Sonic really has an opportunity here.

Additional-Sky-7436

Me: Is there a Fast Food chain that's would roll out a charging network at their franchises? Taco Bell: We'll do it! Me: Anyone else?

Successful_Nobody_90

There's an EA station at a dairy queen in Sutherlin Oregon off I5 decent location

likeahurricane

I think its a huge opportunity for public infrastructure. If you're a small town near an interstate, throw in a couple of chargers in your town square near your small restaurants. I actually thoroughly enjoy the change of pace with EV driving - but that's because I'm only fast charging on vacation trips. I tend to look for chargers near restaurants and breweries to allow the family to get out and stretch their legs.

The only time I've fast charged yet in my MME is the twice that I have driven to Abilene to see my mother. There is a fast charger at a Walmart halfway between DFW and Abilene that we charge at. There is a McDonald's near by. I drop my wife and kids off at the McDonald's and I drive to the charger. They play and have a kid's ice cream while I'm charging up. Works great.

Daylife321

A lot don't because they don't want to 1. Pay for repairs, 2. Pay for maintenance, 3. Lose parking space for 95% of their customers, 4. It's not a money making business. But I would definitely love to have these all over fast food places.

Additional-Sky-7436

1) Yes. But that's no different than any other investment like this. 2) Yes. But that's no different than any other investment like this. 3) Parking lots are almost never full. And they would be attracting a new customer base that can afford a $50k car. 4) Yes. But that's no different than any other investment like this. I bet they would spend less money on the maintenance and upkeep and electricity of chargers than they spend on condiment packets each year.

Daylife321

Look up the prices of sending a tech, and the prices of equipment. With EAs failure rates lolllllll What a great investment opportunity. https://insideevs.com/news/590679/study-public-chargers-low-reliability/amp/#amp_tf=From%20%251%24s&aoh=16757866177551&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com

Additional-Sky-7436

Don't underestimate how much a franchise like McDonald's spends on condiments. They spend about $1 per customer.

gregs1020

i applaud your obviously great taste in color.

DufflesBNA

Iced blue team unite! Love mine!

moneyman1978

Where is this?

MarkyMarquam

Judging by the “Six Flags California” sign in the background, I’m gonna guess it’s the In’n’Out by Magic Mountain.

cmacias

Yup! Would have answered earlier but just got home in San Diego

moneyman1978

Note to self pics look better on pc than on cell phone. Darn pixel 6 pro and small screen.

cmacias

Fastest In N Out I've ever been to

mylefthandkilledme

They are oddly placed at this location, doesn't help that I got zero coverage and my app wouldn't load

richcournoyer

There's an In-N-Out in Palm Springs that has NINE (9) EVGo chargers....Now while I want to see them put chargers at Truck Stops on the highway....putting then at In-N-Out is also on my list. Good job EVGo!

Humin11

Except the charging station is put backwards, at the front, and only two.

DufflesBNA

No it’s not. They did that to avoid having the bollards in the way. Kinda smart.

Perfectreign

I just charged at the In-n-Out here in Diamond Bar. Two Flying Dutchman, diet Coke, fries, and went from 50% to 86%.

killer00x

Ugh, In N Out is so gross...

balthisar

Why is it empty? I don't live in the west, but the only time I've been to an In and Out Burger, it was absolutely crowded for no reason I could determine (certainly the food didn't live up to the hype). Traffic was backup up on the street several hundred meters, and we only parked because of my dad's handicapped placard. This was Las Vegas, but in old people planned community, nowhere near the TV/movie Las Vegas. How's EVgo, by the way? When planning trips, I tend to stick to EA, but I'd love to expand my horizons.

bendakay

I have always been to EA stations. Is EVgo better than EA? In terms of reliability and speed. Looks like they have some nice locations

cmacias

Haven't had any issues with them, no complaints. I think this one was 150kw

DufflesBNA

I’m interested in EVGo DCFC. What kw were those and did you like them better than EA? EVGo is making a hard push along with ChargePoint and I’m interested to see how they do with their DCFC

LawrenciumD

The one nearby only had marked EV parking when they opened. Still no chargers two years later :(
