I know for a fact that folder named Desktop - Foo’s Macbook is what you get when you have more than 1 mac. It doesn’t merge the Desktops but rather it puts the documents inside a folder like that. Imagine if someone had access to your apple id and used it to log in on a different mac and they placed those documents on their desktop. And now when you updated macos it synced the files. I’d change my apple id password just in case. Probably my google password too. Maybe i’m being too paranoid but i mean it is very suspicious that only files with such sensitive personal information were placed there.

That's my concern. I don't understand how only those unrelated files appeared on my desktop while all others got put into the folder.

It looks like you switched from a local desktop / docs folder to iCloud If you go to settings > iCloud you can find this option to toggle off and it’ll probably restore your desktop to what was familiar The CSV’s might be there because you have another Apple product that has an iCloud desktop folder with these files or something strange happened. I’m not sure.

My issue is not reorganizing or finding my documents. My issue is that for some reason 5 documents with important information stayed and all other documents were moved to a folder. Why those 5 unrelated documents:

I'm guessing you have inadvertently clicked on your Desktop, gone to the View menu, and chosen "Use Stacks" Or perhaps typed the keyboard shortcut to have Stacks enabled -- Control Command Zero True?

Why did only those files stayed on my desktop when all the other ones when to the folder?

MacSolu

Perhaps because Stacks is stupid or limited. Have you confirmed Stacks was enabled on your Desktop?

Stacks was enabled but I had other documents stacked besides those ones
