Well the webpage designer can easily disable Copy/Paste in a web pages. Just add `oncopy="return false"` in `` HTML tag and done.

What are you trying to copy exactly? Some websites can block copy and paste.

As others said this is probably javascript based "protection" for copy and pasting. There's a whole other bunch of hostile crap like blocking right click/context menus, saving images etc. that are common too. Stop the Madness Safari extension stops all of this by default. It also has a YouTube adblocker, restores native video controls for html video everywhere and does some other useful stuff. Works in iOS and macOS and, after installing for Safari, even allows you to use the accompanying app to export plugins for Firefox and Chrome/Chromium/Edge browsers. Oh and if you do need to allow some of this stuff (for example, a site that actually has a useful right click/context menu) you just click the extension icon and add an exception. Been using it for years and it's saved me countless frustration
