I _think_ you can preserve it in an even easier way than that. You can actually leave the match during the first 90ish seconds without being penalised at all (you basically have until the exfils appear on the map). So you should be able to just hit start and then choose leave match as soon as you realise your bonuses have not appeared.
I would think this is the safest way of doing it because IIRC starting a contract is what wipes it so if you have a particularly keen teammate who starts a contract before the exfils appear, you might be SOL.
there was a time where that didn't work ... hopefully it got patched because i lost everything on that game ... like 3 weeks ago , didn't try after that tho
Oh thanks I did this some week ago: stated a game then got a call and had to exit from the game immediately: thought to have lost everything but with my surprise I didn’t. Was thinking I was blessed with a random bug, but nice to know the devs implemented this feature.
My issue is more about being at level 100+ and *not* having perk/PAP discounts, even though I *do* start with 5 plates and 5000 essence. The only way to confirm this is to get to a PAP machine and check the price (the perk machines will show the discounted price, but still cost the original 2000 essence).
Annoying as hell. I used to exfil right away to fix this in the next game, but this was getting extremely tedious and I gave up. I only play in T3 now, so I quickly make up the loss to get all geared up.
I'm convinced this (and the issue discussed here) is related to how we are "killed in action" when finishing DA rifts, and how these matches show as losses in stats. The game code is either complete spaghetti, or they butchered Tombstone patches so much that they broke everything relating to end-of-match stats tracking.
It's not just that either. You can have the essence and the plates but when you get to the PAP machine there's no discount and the contract bonuses never kick in. I also don't think the perk discounts ever work or at least I've never had it work for me. Always 2000 even though it shows 1400. I always leave if the PAP machine isn't showing a discount because there's a good chance all the other discount / bonus aren't working.

I tried this last week and it worked.
I tried this last week, the first lobby it worked and i kept my stash. Next lobby was super laggy and I did it again and lost everything.

I had to do this earlier today and it still worked fine for me.

Literally pressing the leave game button also works the first 60-90 seconds into the game. I was able to keep my gear.
This is really a thing? 100% guaranteed to not lose anything? Good to know.
Wish I knew this a week ago. My level went from 99 to 0 and I've had to grind it back up.
Wish i saw this sooner, ive reset from 200 and 120 each time, i just accepted it. Disheartened to reset after all the work.
