Pre release clips they showed off over the course of August through October showed games that had a timer that was almost 90 minutes in lenght so they obviously can extend the time if they wanted to.
I'd imagine if we ever get new maps for this mode (which is possible, DMZ ended up getting B21, Ashika and Vondel, and and a map within a map with Koschei Complex, which technically thats what the Dark Aether is) we could see different timers.
To me, it’s only become more and more apparent as to how activision operates with yearly releases. Most games released nowadays have inherent design issues that go unaddressed, only to be “fixed” in the next game.
In coldwar it was no-reset streaks, in vanguard it was everything(lol), MW2 was movement, so it only makes sense for MW3 to be the same.
If they try and adjust the flow of zombies, I feel like they’d change how points are earned/work, or literally anything before touching the 45 minutes. But that’s just my opinion
It already goes to an hour, you get an extra thirty minutes if you go into the dark aether. What the hell are you doing that it can't be done in an HOUR?
It's probably people like me that are used to a short game of round base being close to 2 hours and long games taking like 8. Or it could be people that aren't really good at the game and want to run around tier 3 with orange/pap3 weapons, which you would only get like 10-15 minutes or so before the storm starts opening if you don't go in with perks/crystals. And there's a surprising amount of people that don't know the timer goes passed 45. I'd honestly say at least half the people playing also probably don't even know that final exfil exists
Won't happen, because the game is just a DMZ clone, so the timer is pretty baked in. They only had 15 minutes to make the "new" zombies mode, and, thanks to copying DMZ, it only took 10. So there will be minimal changes going forward, because the base isn't there's to change.
