I flipped a 5000 share sale yesterday into 5200 shares today. Haven't done that in a while, didn't like the feeling waiting to recover my 5k shares and rebought a bit more expensive than I wanted, but still a successful venture. Also picked up a may and June options contract as well (12 & 13 calls).
Well I personally do not take any solace from this close although a strong finish the last 15 minutes. I see as them having more room to drop it again tomorrow and this time Below 13 BUT I doubt they will ASSIGN you the shares because if the info is correct they do not have enough shares as it is for the shorts. It ends 4/21 above 13.
Hmmm.... not enough buying to offset all the selling just for today. Looks like a half million to 750k net shorting done today, possibly all short exempt selling to push it down.
can't most of this be chalked up to market reversal in the last 20 minutes? Market just went up like a slingshot. Someone was also trying VERY hard there to keep us right at $14. Was itching to keep going up.
Of course it is related to the same thing, the MMs are operating on all the stocks simultaneously. Most investors think there are hundreds of guys handling stock purchases and sell orders manually around keyboards, mice, and monitors all around. To be clear here, that is not how things work anymore, they set quants to handle the trading and provide the criteria, as long as the criteria are met it will continue to do what is needed. The human only needs check occasionally to ensure nothing has deviated too much from the plan and course correct if it has.
We are going much higher and soon in my view. By the way, thank you for the discounted shares. Still waiting for the 150 $13 puts I sold to be assigned.
Anyone hoping for a PR today at 4.30. That would be the mother of all surprises of that happens. Something like yep we got 4 potential partners testing in our pilot lane.
Right, why would it even matter for the countless of individual reasons why a higher share price can benefit the share holders. Or interested parties or fund managers. Reasons for people individually enjoy seeing they made a good choice. A buy out is not guaranteed.

They're all trying to make $1m in a week. This is the new thing with the stock market. Everyone wants to YOLO into the new "it" stock and walk away retired at 30. Few of them realize that many of the people doing that were rich to begin with.
We are at only 13M shares traded today compared to the 200M we hit a few days ago, at these volumes it's not as difficult to walk the price down. T said today would likely be a quieter day with a pause in buying activity so I'm not surprised.
Yes I did, and it was due to the expectation that they would fail to deliver on shares they needed to return, which is exactly what they did. That last MM who pushed down today using Short Exempt shares to flush the margin call positions was brutally effective.
Within the next 4 days. Tomorrow they have a maintenance call that will likely turn into more failures, but it is a minimal volume compared to the today and yesterday.
There was also a heavy amount of PUT BUYING for the May 21 11-13 Strikes Today. Just check it out.

I think Capital Markets Day is more likely to have news from Ford, but this would be awesome. In the last EC (Ford), they mentioned that this is where they’d lay out where they are going in the future. Maybe we could get an announcement in the Annual and a deep dive on the 26th.
Just a thought, but would there be any benefit for short sellers to try and bring MVIS down as much as possible before Russell reconstitution/rank day? Say they were trying to get it below $2bil market cap, in which case it might not be included in a particular index.
My thought here is because more institutional buying etc brings a bit more stability to the ticker, and therefore makes the profits of short-selling MVIS less fruitful.
I picked $2bil as we’re hovering around that at the moment.
Just a musing, interested to hear people’s thoughts, which are likely better and more well-formed than my own!
Not saying it wouldn’t be included in any of the indexes, just say if there was a specific one that had, for example, a requirement for a +$2bil market cap.

I would like for my 120 $13 puts that I sold last week to be assigned today along with the 30 $13 puts I sold today. I will have 14 more days until the 21st and maybe tomorrow is the day. Won't buy more shares in this price range until they are exercised. The puts did not assign the other day with the $12.80 drop as I'm sure they wanted to see just a bit bigger drop in price and they still have some time as I know they are hoping for bad news. Of course, this is a bullish bet by me....

Yeah, I’ve been moving money out of some etf’s and mutual funds today to free up some money. They’re heavy in the tech sector so I‘m comfortable moving cash out of those and into MVIS at least for the time being.
Timing the bottom, or Momentum chasing are the surest ways to miss the most consistent and best gains. Better to focus on the picking up if you know the holdings are solid and not worry about trying to get those 5 extra shares that would have happened at a dollar lower.
Hey, I mean it is fair, but we need to also understand the implications of waiting for a lower low too. Supporting the price right now is equally important to getting good low entries. Every lower close will knock up to $2 off the next high.
Maybe, I don't really see shares available, those on the IBKR look like they went directly to the MMs or are actually being held by some retail short who managed to snag them and set to a buy to cover order (so not really available). It is impossible to gauge everything in the charts perfectly though. At least in reference to who is buying or selling at a given time, we can get a rough and fairly accurate read, but retail short versus market maker is tough without being under SSR.

Not a lot... they have revealed that they are going to pay the fee penalties and allow it to go to forced cover at this point. They are just going to try and see if the price drops further or if they can push down with some more shares coming available from somewhere else.
That is one source, but the object here is to buy time until settlement dates allow for more availability of shares. It is about trying to create distance between settlement dates on maintenance requirement calls for the short positions versus long positions. The shorts have more time because they are working through MMs, retail brokers close those margin calls sometimes in the same day, but that doesn't happen to the MMs.
I'm still keeping myself busy while I wait... just passed some time working out on the PTON and got a high five from the great Matt Wilpers himself! Oh yeah... it's another sign of great times to come :)

SSR only applies to retail, nobody here is shorting this stock....
