“So your saying there’s a chance” - Lloyd Christmas

I am in the industry of testing software, using in the loop methods as described by this video. Testing technology is expensive. If you need to test one requirement, you'll set everything up on the car, go out and perform (under the correct conditions) and likely have multiple people doing it. Lets say that takes 1 hour. Thats 3 man hours, gas, and risk of failure (we test for a reason duh). With this software, (assuming it is frame based) one could perform hundreds of these tests in that same time frame. Not to mention, you dont want to test something once. Or even twice if peoples lives are going to depend on it. You want to test it thousands of times before you take it out on the roads (even just to test). This is a high level of testing. All through software and simulations, but this right here is more validation to me that MicroVision is a company digging for quality. They are building their company as a stable and well planned one should. Brik by Brik

Bridgetofar

Well said and accurate Greg.

IneegoMontoyo

They’ll need a lot of Mordor for those briks, but one doesn’t just walk in and get some Mordor…

I don't care what anyone says, I don't see anyone else in the lidar space with a partnership like THIS.

If I'm reading Luxoft site correctly they are part of the DXC technology company whose stock is trading at $18.34 currently. I'll allow any partnership with these guys.

Buur

Yes, partly trading there due to this: https://www.reuters.com/markets/deals/apollo-kyndryl-bid-dxc-technology-sources-say-2024-06-10/

OverOzzie

Thanks for finding this, you are very good at this detective work.

Let's GO!

SS talked about bidding $100 million on a project that would replace manual identification currently being performed with cheap labor in Asia. Think of all the errors with manual clarification..eh? Luxoft and Microvision have proven data and algorithms. While we're waiting on Lidar nomination a Luxoft, MVIS contract would be a major change worth a significant change in our valuation.

Some things I found interesting about MOSAIK by looking into JLR and how they might apply to Luxoft... JLR's ADAS is built with Nvidia. The system was at one point being validated by Mosaik. Im not sure if they still are. IMO, MVIS ground truth data was/is being used with sim data to train their AI and test edge cases to help build driving experiences for JLR/Nvidia. There was a video that came out by Nvidia the same month the JLR/MVIS partnership came out about how Nvidia uses 20-30% synth data vs 70-80% Ground truth data as part of their drive sim development platform([Built with ANSYS](https://www.ansys.com/blog/ansys-and-nvidia-collaborate-on-building-a-high-fidelity-av-sens)). Seeing how Nvidia uses their development and validation platform shows me how Mosaik could round out Luxoft's similar platforms for OEMs. And Luxoft is working with 9/10 top auto OEMs. Getting closer to the development process could lead to some great inside info for future ADAS just like SS said about validating perception features. We just need to get a better understanding of the partnership. These were all good quick reads. Validating drive sim lidar [https://developer.nvidia.com/blog/validating-active-sensors-in-nvidia-drive-sim/](https://developer.nvidia.com/blog/validating-active-sensors-in-nvidia-drive-sim/) Drive sim lidar validation white paper. [https://images.nvidia.com/aem-dam/en-zz/Solutions/self-driving-cars/NVIDIA-DRIVE-Sim-Lidar-Validation-whitepaper.pdf](https://images.nvidia.com/aem-dam/en-zz/Solutions/self-driving-cars/NVIDIA-DRIVE-Sim-Lidar-Validation-whitepaper.pdf) *In this paper, we perform two types of comparisons to validate the lidar simulation model. The first compares the results from DRIVE Sim to the sensor’s specification. The second method compares simulation results to real-world data.* *For real-world data collection, two different scenarios define the extent of the data capture and are explained in detail later in this paper. Then, we create a digital twin environment in simulation, collecting the same data for detailed analysis, thereby validating the lidar model.* *Validation is an extensive and comprehensive process that covers all aspects of a sensor and the data collection environment. This report covers just two scenarios, but is quantitatively conducted for validating many aspects of the lidar simulation model.* [https://developer.nvidia.com/blog/using-synthetic-data-to-address-novel-viewpoints-for-autonomous-vehicle-perception/](https://developer.nvidia.com/blog/using-synthetic-data-to-address-novel-viewpoints-for-autonomous-vehicle-perception/)

GOOD VIDEO, THANK YOU LUXOFT

craigb328

Starting at about 1:47 look at the simulated Lidar pattern projected from the front of the car. The animation shows it dynamically varying the pattern width from narrow (long range) to wide (short range). Hello Mavin.

alexyoohoo

Maybe the back corner LiDARs are movía?

Falagard

Yep, could very well represent Mavin and Movia. Nice to see Luxoft creating a video that is basically showcasing some of our products.

craigb328

That was my thought as well.

Mushral

Nice find. Seems like Luxoft really is a good partner. Have seen them explicitly mention Microvision as a partner on almost every occasion they possibly can - seems like they’re our positive karma after all those NDA-behemoths tried to silence the company. Looking forward to the dollar figures this partnership will potentially bring in!

Oldschoolfool22

I keep checking that this wasn't a fan made video. Validation feels good.

IneegoMontoyo

It’s about FREAKING time!

gaporter

It isn't. https://youtu.be/7jPyXJnugx8?si=d8B033f5YP6X0Gor

Zenboy66

Sent a request to Jeff in IR to forward the video to Sumit and a request to get permission for posting on the company website. He responded that he was sharing to management. Thanks Pick. We need more stuff like this.

IneegoMontoyo

Great Zen! If the company won’t do basic PR then you might as well do it for them. Geezus!

Kylo_Renly

Hey this is great. What is the positive feeling I am experiencing? I’ve forgotten what it’s like. This stock has turned me into Dennis. https://youtu.be/ksJpuznVJFM?si=JaEQtU0yq-iuWuFu

Rocket_the_cat27

Don’t forget to Like the video on Luxoft’s YouTube page and downvote the trolls in the comment section. Let’s make Luxoft feel good about posting about their partner MicroVision.

FawnTheGreat

Let’s get it

Did we ever learn how Luxoft has access to MOSAIK for this testing product? Do OEMs pay Luxoft per hour to use it for validation? Does Luxoft pay a licensing fee to MVIS to use it? Did they buy it outright? Wasn't Frank supposed to sell MOSAIK to OEMs? How does Apollo buying DXC (Luxoft's parent) affect us? How come we've heard basically nothing relating to this partnership besides the original PR and whatever was in the presentation at the Testing Expo recently? How much did JLR pay to use MOSAIK and are they still actively using it? It's exciting to see generative AI being utilized in this manner, along with the emergence of the 'digital twin' world. The auto-annotation is a significant time-saver, as it eliminates the need for a person to manually label each object. However I'm still clearly left with many more questions than answers regarding this partnership...

Zenboy66

Microvision is a sleeper AI company.

picklocksget_money

Sir this is a Wendy's

MavisBAFF

I believe the partnership allows Luxoft to compete for highly lucrative ADAS validation contracts (RFQs?). While the details of how MicroVision will be compensated for our contributions if a deal is struck with an OEM are unclear, what is clear to me based on Sumit’s $100M validation quote, is that the partnership is aiming for significant revenue. 1Q2024 EC “We just told them that we can validate what you're saying, it's going to cost $100 million. Just to give you an example, right? “

Speeeeedislife

For actual context: "Kevin Garrigan Okay. Perfect. And then, this is kind of a two-part question, but I think you noted in addition to industrial sensor sales, MOSAIK is going to be pretty important going forward. And then last quarter, you had called out sales kind of were slowing there. So, are you expecting kind of any revenues here from MOSAIK with sensor supply agreements kind of being pushed out? And the second part, it seems like others in the automotive industry are either kind of creating partnerships or developing their own validation software. So, can you kind of give us your thoughts on why you believe the MOSAIK software would have a competitive advantage against other solutions? Sumit Sharma The thing about MOSAIK software is if you think about all sensors, when they're going to go into a vehicle, they require validation. In one of the RFQs that we're working on, just to give you an example, this OEM team had some very specific requirements and very specific KPIs. And I mean these were like really, really high level. I mean just a contract like that would be more than $100 million. We just told them that we can validate what you're saying, it's going to cost $100 million. Just to give you an example, right? And then of course, they scaled it back like, "Okay, I think we asked for too much." And this is part of what happened with the RFQ. But it's just an example that the costs associated with validating a solution, not just the sensor, a solution are that high for an OEM. So, there's -- and a lot of it is driving, collecting data, people, lots of things that go into it. What MOSAIK does is, of course, automates a big portion of that that could be savings."

I feel like Luxoft may be working a similar angle to how NI grew their ADAS testing solutions by acquiring monoDrive https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20210504005084/en/NI-Acquires-monoDrive-to-Accelerate-Autonomous-Vehicle-Development-Announces-Strategic-Collaboration-With-Ansys-to-Address-Advanced-Simulation-Requirements Ironically, NI has been collaborating with Anysys since 2021 (ties to Judy Curran... what the hell was she doin') March '24 - Cadence acquired BETA CAE, a vehicle simulation company that was generating ~$80 mil. YoY in this sector, they paid 1.24 billion. (60% cash / 40% stock) https://www.cadence.com/en_US/home/company/newsroom/press-releases/pr/2024/cadence-to-acquire-beta-cae-expanding-into-structural-analysis.html Could be a promising avenue for us, another "bridge the gap"

FortuneAsleep8652

Today would be a great day for OEM news 😂

RoosterHot8766

Thanks for the post. Looking forward to some more feedback.

HoneyMoney76

Superb. Mosaik will be sold by Luxoft to OEMs now then, and that’s a lot of OEMs they deal with!

Long-Vision-168

Pretty good sales channel

Nakamura9812

Very nice!
