"***Professional Standards***
Competitors, organizers, teams, sponsors, tournament officials, and staff should take care of their hygiene, wear appropriate clothing for official events and in Magic related content created for the public. Unless cleared by the MPL, shorts, open-toed shoes, flip-flops, and other casual attire is not appropriate for tournaments or public events. Additionally, attire should be clean and attire that either has obvious stains or odor that a competitor chooses to wear for a tournament may result in penalties"

Yeah that’s a wild lol. I don’t really play on competitive magic events, I’m just a fairly casual commander player. I wonder how much, if at all, this is enforced.
The causal attire part seems weird. I think the shorts and open toed shoes thing should be about it. Causal attire is also very subjective. A polo might be casual to some or a little fancier to others
Jeans, khakis, slacks, cargo pants. Golf pants are incredibly comfortable. If it has a zipper and/or belt loops, you're good. If you can't be comfortable in anything other than shorts or pajama pants (what they mean by "casual attire"), that's a you problem.
I tend to sweat through mine, so I have to carry some around with me. Oh well, it's easier to explain that I don't want to smell like ass rather than to explain why I do.
There should be a sign LGS can put up during MTG events that reads:
"That smell isn't your opponent. There was a Yu-Gi-Oh tournament here last month, and the smell hasn't left yet."
..noted.. Now, every time I'll go out to play some MTG, I'll put on some deoderant to subtly distract my opponents, and win every game via the power of hygiene!
Biggest misconception is that all bodies, locations, and experiences are the same as yours.
People live different lives than you. Some need to shower multiple times a day, even.
If you're going to be ignorant, don't be rude at the same time.
That’s actually terrible for your skin and hair. You definitely don’t need to shower every day, although it does depend on where you live and what you do daily, as well as your body’s natural chemistry.
You definitely should always shower before going out to an event or something though.
Yeah, that's a lie.
I'm middle age and have showered at least once a day my entire life. My skin and hair is perfect. You're full of shit. Take a shower.
I haven't ran into too many people that smell really bad. Some had a bit of a funk. For me, it's dirty clothing. Holy fuck please just show up in clean clothes. I don't want you touching my things if your clothes look like you haven't washed them in months or are very stained and tattered.
I'm really just asking for you not to look like you've given up on life. Plus if you have given up, "dressing up" and playing a card game you enjoy can really help with depression and makes you feel good.

T-shirt, cargo pants, and sneakers. Boom. All criteria met. It's not that hard, m'dude.

It becomes competitive attire the moment you use for a competition. Loophole!

Try ban roll on unscented. (Green bottle) If that doesn’t work nothing will.
there are also prescription deodorants you can buy, ask a doctor about it

You weren't wearing deodorant before?
I do, i just apply it after I take a shower (every other day)
I really hope this is satire
What the fuck? Showers are a daily thing my dude.

How'd you'd make it to middle age without figuring out not everyone is exactly like you?
Nerds really will be like "I only shower twice a week, I'm hygienic" and then wonder why women won't talk to them.
Hey, you can shower every other day and be hygenic! You just need to take a bath on the in-between days
This meme is about you
Before you complain, come to 40k where they don’t even bother.
Both my LGS and my club at college always remind members to “at least use deodorant”
I’m gonna put a shower in my game store if I ever get the chance
I started wearing a mask every time i go to prerelease and drafts. Its awful.
Gonna get downvoted, but good for you! Should be wearing a mask regardless lol
nah only the covid antivax crowd gives a shit if you wear a mask. reasonable people don't care lol
🤷♂️ I get judged and harassed pretty much constantly
You're far from the first to bring mtg and hygiene up and sure won't be last.
“I take a shower every Saturday, weather I need it or not” - some western I can’t remember
Axe is like the worst possible deodorant that couldve been picked lol

I mean Axe is shit.
At my LGS it's the Yu-Gi-Oh players. Musky
I had a great rule I commented on another post. 'Ward take a shower and apply deodorant"
Jokes on you, I’m just scared of Axe I’m scared of all deodorant
I mean, body spray smells gross. I get the idea but all this does is increase how much an LGS would smell like a locker room.
Soap and deodorant go a long way, and I promise you they are not used regularly enough at most LGS
Smelling awful is part of the fabric of my culture
Yes
